The staff was wonderful and the hospitality was excellent… this was a family oriented environment the owner of the entire property kept in contact with me as well. He was very helpful and treated me like family I would recommend this place to everybody coming to Jacó

This is the best hotel we stayed at in our 10 days trip to Costa Rica. It was our first trip to the country and we looked for 3 star hotels minimum on all the nights. We did a road trip changing location every 2 nights and this was the only hotel by USA standards. All the other “3 stars” will at best qualify as cheap motels in USA. This hotel is owned by an American expat and you can tell the difference. Highly recommended to everyone that travels to Jaco or the area. Very quiet and clean, very nice pool and location, the owner and the staff are very friendly. We will definitely stay here again when in the area.

We had a relaxing one night stay at this beautiful property before joining our yoga retreat down the road. The staffs, Arrington and Joaquin were most helpful. Great little boutique hotel

We had a wonderful stay, the staff was superb so friendly and helpful especially the managers Mikey and Diana Benner. Great service and good area recommendations. The resort was very nice great pool and resultant and bar.

This is a beautiful place to stay, really closed to the beach. Nice and clean, great food.
The service is extremely good, and the owners super friendly. We stayed with our one and half year-old daughter, and they made sure we were comfortable during our stay.

We stayed in one of the three villas with a full kitchen, two bedrooms and one bath. Easy access to the pool and a bar area. I’m addition to the villas there are rooms surrounding the pool but it’s a very cozy, intimate area completely surrounded by tropical plants. The staff were very sweet, most spoke English. The kitchen has adequate supplies but you will need to buy coffee, paper towels, condiments, etc. Breakfast was included and quite good with plenty of choices.

Charming, quaint resort with outstanding staff whom, I personally believe work too hard. This location is ideal for those with a vehicle or rental to access nearby attractions.

There are no bike lanes and the beach attractions were across the main highway.
We enjoyed yoga at a nearby ecovillage and enjoyed our conversations, pool, meals, etc., with the owners. The rooms were very clean, spacious, and satisfactory. However, It’s also my hope to find resorts with fitness or yoga centers in CR, although surfing and other beach recreation is available nearby. I was also looking forward to the organic kombucha provided, but the kitchen ran out out of supply as this is a small family owned business and these products are handmade so the supply and demand can certainly be a challenge. Our stay overall was pleasant and exceeded our expectations. Thank you!

The garden and pool area are nice, it is on a quiet street away from the business of town. But the AC unit in our room was way too loud, it kept me up much of the night. There is no regular fan as an option either.

It was perfect for our family. The room was large enough for the kids to move around. There was a little kitchen to use (no cooking, but fridge, bowls, silverware, etc.). The staff was pretty nice. Some were super nice and others a bit more stoic, but still very helpful. The pool was perfect for our kids (ages 7 and 10). The breakfasts were great with excellent choices. It is a beautiful little spot. We liked it so much we want to go back. In fact we'd love to take family with us. Overall, for a family, it had everything we wanted and more. It seems like this place wants you to feel at home and will bend over backwards to do it. It's not on the beach, but only two minutes by car from the beach. The neighborhood is funky, but safe. It is easy to find. There are some fun restaurants nearby (we dislike Jaco very much, but it was great to be close enough to Jaco to go to the grocery store and then leave quickly). Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

Beautiful grounds and view. I could sit all day in the pool/restaurant area just enjoying the view of the flowers and the mountains. Saw a gorgeous pair of scarlet Macaws more than once feasting on the almonds in the almond trees behind the restaurant. They were shy and flew away when I tried to get close enough to take a picture.
Room was very comfortable and had everything we could have needed - air conditioning, hot water, kitchen sink, microwave, refrigerator, TV, etc.
Breakfast at Las Brisas was always wonderful and delicious.
Spanish is helpful but not necessary.
We walked to the beach (it's about a mile) and walked as far as we could go to the end of the beach to see the rock formations with the waves crashing over them.
There is a small grocery (neighborhood pulpería) a short walk down the street if you need to pick up some drinks, snacks or other essentials.
Recommended restaurants are Vida Hermosa and Las Olas. Unfortunately we ran out of time and didn't take advantage of Las Brisas for dinner, but we will next time.

Nice little hotel. It isn’t within walking distance to anything though including a bus line and quite a ways from Jaco itself. I requested a refund to no avail then Expedia was able to negotiate one with the owner for 2 of my 5 days only. If you rent a car or are looking for a retreat away from civilization this would be good, otherwise even the taxi driver couldn’t find it.

Comfortable place to stay

Very nice room with refrigerator and microwave, things we had been missing since coming to Costa Rica! AC worked nicely and the room was comfortable. The pool area was really nice, and the bar/restaurant was good and accommodating. Breakfast was very good with many choices each day and food and drinks were available at the bar throughout the day over the weekend. Owners and staff were all very gracious and friendly, and helpful.

Quiet hotel away from the town

Very nice place that seems like a quiet resort. Daily breakfast made to order by the friendly staff starts your day off on a good note. On a nice day you can take a stroll to Playa Hermosa or laze by the pool. I would say you need a car if you plan to spend time in Jaco since taxis can be expensive. Overall a very nice hotel.

lovely facility with large comfortable rooms. all rooms overlook the pool and therefore needed to keep curtains closed as it was easy to see into the rooms. Breakfast was good and balanced. bed was firm which is perfect for us, sheets were ok.

The staff and accomodations at Las Brisas are amazing. Wonderful quiet pool area. Would stay here again anytime! We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa. It was huge. Was awesome to have our own outdoor area as well. Very private. Loved it here. The staff were wonderful. The breakfast was outstanding. Would love to come back again some day.
P.s. The only thing that could have been better, was if they served blender drinks at the bar by the pool. Pina Coladas etc.

Great hote!

The security guard was so helpful to make sure we had everything we needed. The hotel owners were helpful in making sure we were comfortable. Breakfast was amazing and the pool was right at our door.
The location is 10 mins from the beach. There is also delivery to the hotel from local pizza shops. Only issue is that there was a large family staying there who were noisy at the night. The owners did warn us. But, it was mostly a large family who stayed up celebrating a big birthday.

Hotel ok but out of the way you need a car

Nice hotel but very cut off, you need a car; shower pressure hit and miss. I know the hotel is up for sale do attention to detail lacking at times. I paid £500 for a week so pricey. But had a nice time just far too quiet.

We have stayed at this hotel several times. The owners (John and Rachel) are accomodating and friendly. Nice pool area to relax. They have upgraded the variety and quality of the free breakfast. The rooms are clean and basic. Everything you really need as a base to visit the area. We have stayed in the rooms as well as the villas.

It you hate crowds like I do, this is the place!!

Chose this hotel because it was rated great to relax... couldn't be more true. Breakfast was fantastic and service too. Since there's no restaurant on site, you have to go out for lunch and dinner unless you decide to cook. If you drive this in not a problem since there a many options within driving distance. Most of the time, there were only three or four people in the pool and surroundings.

This is where you need to stay, quiet, clean, fab!

Look no further this places ticks off all the boxes, clean, quiet, very comfortable beds. Great air-conditioning, good wifi, great helpful staff ! You will not want to leave! Short walk to beach, easy drive to restaurants and Jaco. This place has lovely landscaping the pictures you see are true it is really that lovely, on quiet residential street. Managers Rachelle and Jon are excellent great tips on places to see turtles laying eggs, helped us book Rainforest tour, we were picked up and dropped off, by shuttle no charge - fabulous, loved the ziplining. Jon came down one night to quietly talk to group that was starting in get a bit loud, handled in very professional way, they had a good night, we got good night's sleep so everyone was happy, that is excellent service so you know you will be well looked after ! 5 choices of breakfast were excellent and 4 choices of breakfast times, plus there is cold cereal, coffee, tea, and juices, best ever! Enjoy your stay !!

Small tucked away oasis in Jaco

Beautiful pool area and pleasant area to eat melas at the Rancho. Single plate breakfast ok but was delicious. I wished they offered a buffet like other hotels. I rated hotel condition low due to our shower head was spewing everywhere and the drain was draining slowly. The common areas where very nice though.

Great place to stay away from touristy jack

Las Brisas was great overall. The location is further away from the touristy area of jack and is a short drive to playa hermosa. The grounds are beautiful and the breakfast is great. The room could have been a little cleaner as the sheets were previously stained. I would definitely stay again.

Wonderful hotel off busy beach and road near Jaco

Just off the main road through Hermosa Beach we stayed in a junior suite, very clean, very comfortable. The breakfast was nice and the pool and garden very well kept and appreciated. The price ratio for this hotel was excellent. Would highly recommend.

Distant from town, close to beach restaurants. A+

This was a quick 2 night weekend getaway, my first time to the area. The place is a bit isolated at first impression but the manager was only too happy to offer courtesy shuttles to the Hermosa coastline.
I'm going to give the hotel and staff an \"A\" for effort because their crew started early with breakfasts, landscaping, property maintenance and care. It was clear this property wants to keep everything up to date in working order.

Colorful central swimming pool and unheated hot tub...completely adequate and clean. Adequate exterior lighting, clean roof tiles, office mostly open willing to help arrange tours or offer local suggestions.

It's about 6km to Jaco so don't expect to walk there or back. It's all taxis or yo.ur rental car.

And I'd go back. Central Jaco was too crowded and typcial so Las Brisas was a nice retreat and the nearby beach front restaurants at Hermosa offered awesome food, smoothies and ice cold beverages.

Bumpy ride, no hot water

Upon arrival at the resort which is 1 mile down a very bumpy unpaved road there was no hot water service for cleaning up. The property is way to far from the beach and town. Most of the time nobody was attending the front office. I would not consider staying there again, and not very happy with this place Hotels.com recommended to me.

Nice Villas - we enjoyed our stay

The villas were a nice spot to meet with a large group such as ours (20 people). While they were not as flashy as some of the others, the price is right and all your necessities will be met. It's a little ways away from Jaco but that is probably a good thing given how packed Jaco was over the holidays.

We were looking for an nice, clean, safe hotel on a budget since we couldn't afford the outrageous resort prices. This place exceeded our expectations. The ac ran better than most lousy hotel ac'sin the states. It was an actual fresh cooked made to order breakfast that was included in our stay. I slept on the trundle bed and it was comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

The place was nice, though much smaller than the pictures make it look like. Not much nearby, but a short, bumpy ride down the road and you'll find restaurants and then Jaco. It's more of a vacation rental place than a hotel and so feels a little different than I expected. That said, the staff is nice and helpful, the bed and room comfortable.

The staff was helpful and courteous. The room was nice and clean and the pool was a definite bonus. Breakfasts were tasty and filling, and included with the room. We had an evening where some little harmless beetles came under our door, but hey, it's the tropics. It's just what happens this time of year. It's outside of Jaco, but it's not an issue if you have transportation. It was just what we were looking for, as we weren't interested in partying in Jaco but wanted a base to explore parks and such from. I'd gladly stay again.

Nice , celan, secluded place. Staff very helpful and willing to help. Room was awesome and super clean. Pool and grounds kept clean and looking new. There is a large dirt road which makes the acces to the village a pain, but was easily overcome. The wifi was very poor but I am sure that they will fix that soon. :)

AWESOME PLACE TO STAY

The owners Terry, Teresa and their kids were all amazing!! very helpful with any questions or just getting a taxi...Great place to stay outside the hustle and bustle of Jaco...Close to an amazing beach... much better than Jaco beach...a few bars and stores are within walking distance..about a 15 minute cab ride to Jaco center...costs about $15 bucks...The resort is very well maintained..the rooms are modern...with beautiful/comfortable bedding and ice cold A/C...just a few feet to the pool , Jacuzzi and breakfast area..Ask the owners about taking a fishing trip on their charter boat and have fresh fish to eat for the rest of your stay..! A++ I will be back soon..Chris from NJ.

Small hotel away from the crowds

Stayed one night to break our trip from Arenal to Manuel Antonio. Very quiet location just out of Jaco. The room was very clean and spacious.
Breakfast was great and included yoghurts, fresh fruits, bakery items and French toast.
The pool and jacuzzi was wonderful and provided relief from heat and humidity.
Extremely helpful staff.

Stuck out in the middle of nowhere the \"beach shuttle\" turns out to be the owner and his vehicle (if available), and \"if I have the time\", Otherwise, it's a long cab ride into town, or the beach, and you have to hope someone is in the office to call a taxi for you. The owner is sure living the dream, drinking beer in the pool all afternoon, but unless you're looking for a hideout, you're not,
Booked five nights, stayed only one.

Friendly and helpful staff, 10 min away from Jaco

We had an excellent stay at Las Brisas. The staff was very welcoming and helpful with our questions and concerns as new tourists to Costa Rica. They provided us transportation into Jaco and nearby restaurants/attractions and also provided breakfast every morning. Although Las Brisas was still a 10 min drive into town, it was nice having the peace and quietness compared to the hustle and bustle of Jaco. The hotel was well kept and we slept comfortably in a clean and air-conditioned room. Thanks Terry, Theresa, and John for an awesome stay!

We stayed in a villa at Las Brisas for 10 days. They set up some amazing tours for us and handled the planning very well. It was definitely a place to go! Very comfortable, clean, great pool. Close enough to the beach to walk, but the free beach shuttle made our lives much easier.

NO OCEAN VIEW almost impossible to find!!

The \"hot tub\" wasn't hot just had jets working and was told this is what they meant by having a whirl pool. No ocean view and the bed was like sleeping on a rock with a thin pad on it. Worst of all their sign for the hotel was broken and they didn't even think about putting up something for people to find them??? We took an hour and a half going up and down the same rocky dirt road going door to door to find them. There are the same price hotels on the ocean in Playa Hermosa 1.5 K away.

My Husband and I stayed at Las Brisas for 3 days, starting Nov 1, 2013. The managers were very welcoming, and helped ensure our stay was a good one. As an animal lover, I was very happy to see a cat at the hotel - a stray that they are now ensuring is cared for. Nice, clean hotel. Would have liked a cooking surface in the room, as it is advertised as having a kitchenette. We reccomend it and would stay again.

Hidden gem

Stayed a few nights here and was very peaceful. It's a little ways from the beach maybe 2miles. The couple that runs the hotel are great and very accommodating. Breakfast is on the light side but its free. Bed and room was very cozy.

I would stay there again without question. So if you want to get away from the main tourist hotels and don't care about staying on the beach then las brisas is the place.

Owned by Britains who had lived in the states for many years . They are on site at all times. Rooms are comfortable. Pool is clean. We were there on the 4th and they even made us hamburgers for lunch. Gracious hosts. Quiet area and relaxing. It is up a dirt road going towards the mountain on the south side of Hermosa Beach.. Close to Jaco,, but not so close you hear the noise! The only issue was that is was school break and some parents let their children be in the pool alone .

Peace and quiet in the Jaco area - FOUND!

Hotel was a little hard to find, but in a nice quiet location. Pool was well maintained. Breakfast was pleasant, coffee was excellent! Room was nice but AC was a little under powered for the heat. Due to the septic systems in this area of Costa Rica, you cannot flush toilet paper and the smell of the septic seems to 'back up' in the rooms. Unpleasant but not really a hotel issue. The owners were extremely helpful and very nice. I would stay here again!!

great all around place to stay

i love the place. very nice and comfortable. not to far from the beach (wouldnt recommend) the town of jaco. If you have time go to manuel antonio (1 hr down 34). ask front desk and they will let you know what to do around the place.

Wonderful experience. Lovely place.

The hotel and the staff where great, always gave us the best recommendations for tours and dinning, you can really rely on their advice. The room was comfortable with the right amenities. The hotel is NOT on the beach but they have a free shuttle. Great pool and delish breakfast. We felt safe. I would highly recommend this place if you want to rest and be cool.

GREAT if you don't want to be in the thick of Jaco

This place was so affordable that I was shocked at how beautiful the property and room was! Huge room and bathroom with a refrigerator and microwave. And hot water! (Not easy to come by in Costa Rica in my experience!). We wanted something away from the insanity of Jaco, but not too far, and this was perfect. A 10 minute drive to Jaco, and 3 minute drive to beautiful Playa Hermosa. What a find!!

Great hotel for families and couples

Las Brisas is a charming little place, a bit off the beaten path, just a few miles south of Jaco. My daughter and I stayed there for a week and we were very happy with our experience. The free breakfasts are excellent. The pool is lovely and well-kept. The rooms are not particularly large, but they are in good shape, clean and comfortable. In addition, the owners are very friendly and work hard to take care of their guests. Rachelle arranged several tours for us as well as surfing lessons and rides to and from the airport. We had no complaints at all!

If you are looking for a $300/night hotel with a pool bar, lots of people and loud music - this is not it! But, if you are looking for a quiet, enjoyable, well-kept and very affordable place to unwind, relax and soak up the wonderful Costa Rican weather - this is the place!

Easy checkin, hotel in great location near Jaco. Room was nice and spacious with nice kitchen area. Pool are was very loud during day with a lot of kids, so that was a con. Staff very friendly.

Nice staff, terrible town needs more storeage

I would not recomend this hotel to a friend because the beach and the town were very disapointing. The beach was overcrowded and dirty and so was the town of jaco. The family who owns the hotel were kind and accomidating. The room needs more storeage. We like to keep our room in order when traveling because it makes us feel more at home.

English hospitality in Latin America

Lovely boutique hotel set away from the busy highway. Look for the sign on the main road and 800 meters down the road, just like it says. The two bedroom condo is a great deal! Smaller rooms have trundle beds under the queen-size regular bed. Breakfast was the best we have had in the country so far (been here a week so far). Owners are an English couple who live on site.

Very nice hotel

Felt like a great value for the money. The rooms were very nicely decorated and clean. The breakfast was wonderful. Was very suprised to find such a nice place for the price. Not very close to the beach or the tourist town of Jaco, but within minutes of a car drive you can be there! Really enjoyed having such a super place to base my tours our of. Thank you!

Wonderful quiet resort. Owners are the best!

We really enjoyed our stay. The place was clean and had a really nice pool / bar area. Breakfast was include with homemade baked goods by the owners. It is about 5min drive from Jaco but a taxi is very cheap. I would definitely stay at this resort again.

Beach time with the family

I thought that the overall experience was great. The location was not too far from where everything was and the fact that the shuttle ride to and from the beach was free saved me money. Breakfast was better than I had expected and I enjoyed every morning. The pool hours were great and so was the short distance from where the rooms were. The location couldn't have been better for those who want a slight barrier from the downtown area, which is only a few minutes away by car or using the shuttle and I was able to cook in the room. The staff members were great people and were helpful.

Pure Life at Its Best!

Owners manage Las Brisas and take a personal interest in your stay doing whatever they can to make you happy. Web info accurate. Everything was great! We would have preferred a softer mattress. We were delightfully surprised that we could enjoy a Manuel Antonio half day park visit from this location. This half day outing was a highlight of our 9 day trip to Costa Rica. Quiet and tranquil away from the busy tourist spots.

Wonderful stay at Las Brisas!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Las Brisas for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The grounds are charming and the rooms spotless. The pool is wonderful and a only a few steps from your room. The hosts were wonderful and helpful suggesting scenic places to visit and dine. We would definately stay at Las Brisas again if we are ever lucky enough to return to Costa Rica!

Small family-owned hotel with friendly and helpful staff. 8 private rooms look out to great landscape, a refreshing pool and jacuzzi with TV. Gated parking area. Delicious food, loved baked goods for breakfast. Short 5min. drive to closest beach. A 10 min. drive to \"downtown\" Jaco. Little critters and a cat walking around (a salamander entered the room one night and didn't want to leave!). Owners hooked us up with cool tours run by local reputable companies that know all the local hotspots.

Quiet place off the beaten path

Spent 1 night. Wonderful staff. Great pool area. Out of the way from the busy town of Jaco but worth it. Drive into Jaco for the day or part of it and just enjoy the quiet of las brisas.

Las Brisas is great!

My girlfriend and I stayed at Las Brisas over Christmas 2011 and really had an awesome time. The hotel is beautiful, and the owners, Rachel and John were really kind and helpful. The pool and the gardens that surround it make for a perfect tropical paradise. I'd definitely recommend a stay here - it's a great value! Closest to Playa Hermosa, but a short taxi ride to Playa Jaco and Playa Herradura, the beaches can't be beat!

We were made to feel at home here. Managers Jon and Rachelle are both very personable and accommodating. Not only did they help us feel comfortable at their hotel but they helped us in other ways most hotels don't. The grounds and pool are very pleasant and there's a bus stop right at the corner, about a 1/4 mile walk. We had a very nice time here.

Las Brisas-Great service, Relaxing atmosphere

The staff was great and the rooms were clean and neat. Good location to get away from the heavily trafficked Jaco beach, but close enough to get there quickly. I would suggest getting a rental car or prepare to use a taxi for most trips. The hotel is in walking distance to some restaurants, bars, and the Hermosa beach, but its not exactly a short walk.
