All the staff are so welcoming, the large bedrooms were very comfortable and clean and the variety of food was overwhelming and delicious.

The facilities were basic. The gym was ill-equipped with bad smell. The food was ok. The room was small for four people staying together. The temporary single beds provided were awful. They squeaked with every move while sleeping. There was a dip in the middle, so couldn't sleep well. The room had broken air conditioner that warmed the room instead of cooling it.

Room heating in winter months a little unpredictable. Been here several times and will be going again no doubt. Indoor heated pool and small gym for guests.

The shop on site has lots of items, no fresh produce and is rather pricey, however it was convenient, the downside to the shop, the contactless machine is unreliable and they do not take cash.so you cannot guarantee a purchase.
Excellent bus service around the island, also used bolt, both reasonably priced.
The pools are lovely, the water is salty and chlorinated, interesting taste.
The il mierra buffet resturant is super,lots of choice. A couple of nights we went to the other resturant, the meal.sizes were huge.
You will see reviews that the hotel.is old, it is decorated, exceptionally clean albeit a little tired in places. I would definitely recommend it

We really enjoyed the hotel as a family. The breakfast opportunity was a bit low just with beans bacon's eggs I agree a lot us from England but when we are in holiday we would like to try something else. The dinner was amazing with a lot of fruit and seafood options. We had for the evening some game place so we enjoyed that aswell. The view was really nice and around the hotel a lots of very good opportunity for a water sport.

This hotel is easy walking distance to the Gozo ferry terminal. There is a restaurant at the hotel as well as an excellent casual restaurant across the street. We enjoyed the live music in the evening in the lobby bar area. Views from the room to the water were great.

It was a shame that our first impression of this hotel was awful as we were placed in a room just opposite renovations, a pneumatic drill causing the room to vibrate! We were moved to a smaller room which they assured us was the same category. I cannot understand why the hotel would put any guest in the initial room. The hotel itself was fine, we stayed half board and found the food to be good and inclusive of wine. Pool was clean and well maintained. A big moan for us was the water in the room was not suitable for drinking and one bottle of water for the whole trip was provided. We were told it was forbidden to fill our water bottle in the restaurant which was unbelievable and not really safe if room water was not to be drunk. They did say we could buy bottled water in the shop which was incredibly environmentally unsound. If you stay at this hotel buy bay view rooms as our room overlooked the car ferries to Gozo which probably wasn’t the best. Overall this was an OK hotel that could be really good. The food in the beach bar was fantastic though

Beautiful views as you enter the hotel reception where it is extremely spacious and banned by very attentive and professional staff. Our room was on a high floor overlooking the sea with sliding doors out onto a balcony. The room had comfortable clean beds, and lots of toiletries included in the bathroom. Tea and coffee facilities also in the room. For storage the room had lots of space in two massive wardrobes and a large chest of drawers. Bathroom had a deep bath with a shower over it which had a wonderful pressure of hot water. The room also had a refrigerator which was really handy as well as superb air conditioning and an extra large electric ceiling fan.
The restaurant on the first floor overlooks the stunning bay and out to sea with a fantastic array of foods for breakfast including four different juices, pork sausages, chicken sausages, fried tomatoes, bacon, baked beans, fried eggs or scrambled as well as fried potato squares. Various cereals, yogurts and lots of savoury dishes including hams and cheeses. Evening meals consisting of many different courses with so many different choices as well as an ice cream machine, the evening meal also includes free white wine, red wine, rose wine, water and beer. Each evening there was live entertainment consisting sometime an electronic organist as well as a live singer. Three lifts to choose from and really comfortable settees and chairs in and around the reception. Very good indoor and outdoor pools as well as use of a gym!!

We thought the property was in an excellent location, near the ferry terminal to Gozo as well as many buses to/from various hotspots in Malta including the capital, Valletta and an express X1 public bus service to the airport.
If you prefer to sleep with a window or balcony door open, we recommend you opt for a Bay View room rather than a Sea View room as some of the latter rooms are beside the busy main road to the ferry port and the ferry runs 24hours! Although we were promptly transferred to a quieter room the next day (we were booked for 16 nights and a good night's rest on your holiday should not be optional), we were then disturbed by drilling/refurbishment work in the room above and then extensive refurbishment work being carried out to one of the wings of the hotel which was audible and visible from our room/balcony. It was disappointing that the hotel did not make guests aware of this obviously planned programme of work on the website as this would have been an honest policy, giving guests the option to book elsewhere. Having said that, we found our quieter room to be spacious and very clean, the bed was very comfortable with a spacious bathroom and great shower over bath. The fixtures and fittings were good quality mid century vintage teak which made a nice change from all the new ultra modern/sterile design/materials which are not as good quality. We would definitely return but would check with hotel re: building work beforehand.

Stay away if you want a decent food or hotel
Accomodation quality that of a 3 start motel with lots of overdue maintenance. Family room is a joke with 4 beds in a row without a space to walk between them. Rooms facing a road are very noisy during the night as local boy racers seems to treat that road as a race track. Food quality probably only rivals that of students' cafeteria, hardly edible and frankly raising a question how it is possible to get such a badly cooked meals with what seemed like reasonable ingridients. Given Malta's restaurants aren't that expensive the extra for full board at this place is just not worth it. Overall it is bearable for a night or two but clearly a gross exaggeration to call it a hotel, let alone 4 star.

Very outdated rooms that aren’t in great working order. Dining room is very big and bright. 3 great swimming pools and the resort has access directly to the Mediterranean. Didn’t like being nickel and dimed for everything. No coffee in room but can buy some downstairs, for example. Staff weren’t overly knowledgeable and not super helpful when we had questions. We just figured things out ourselves. Although the hotel is fine and has great potential we would not stay here again.

Great hotel, quiet location and nice beach opposite but we booked for 2 adults and 2 adult teenagers. The accomodation had 1 room and a bathroom. The hotel chucked a couple of fold up beds either side of the main bed. Not suitable for a family of 4. I had to book another room for the week as reception refused to help. Should not have been sold as an adult family stay.

Good family hotel, great location
The room was great value for the season. One annoyance was it being described as a ‘Sea View Room’ when my room, 271, is one of the few rooms at the hotel that does not look onto the sea unless you consider stepping out on the balcony and stretching out on the side to see the sea as sea view.
Breakfast includes a variety of hot and cold options. You can’t fault the location; a few minutes from the Gozo ferry and bustling Mellieha with its many restaurants. Staff are at hand at reception 24 hours and the minor issues I experienced were resolved within minutes. I am surprised so few people use the private beach at Porto Lounge.

We stayed at the Paradise Bay Resort this April. Stay was great and we enjoyed it. The room was spacious and clean, meals (we were on HB) were plentiful and included free-flowing wine, beer, and lemonade, pools very nice.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. There are amazing view from the hotel of the bay and the sea, and lots of facilities on site e.g convienence store/gift shop, spa/salon. However, you are limited in terms of things to do in the local area as it's really far out. Other than going for long walks (the Red Tower is about 40 min walk away), it's advised to take the ferry to Comino or Gozo or else get the bus into Ghadira/ Meliiha/St Paul's Bay. Also the hotel could do with a big upgrade, for example moving sockets to the bedside.

We had a lovely stay. The room was spacious, comfortable, clean and had a great view of the bay. The staff were very friendly and efficient. We stayed half board and the food (buffet) was excellent (and plentiful!). The salt water pool was never crowded and there was plenty of parking spaces available. The only down side was the 'beach' which faced the ferry port (we went elsewhere). Nevertheless, all in all the hotel exceeded our expectations and provided a great base for exploring Malta and Gozo.

Our first experience was lunch in the K Lounge while our rooms were getting ready (we were early). After 10-15 minutes of sitting at the table I had to get up and ask for menus. When we ordered drinks the server brought us a large bottle of water for the 3 of us but no glasses to drink from. We all had other drinks but it's the small things that are up to a poor experience. We ordered the Mexican Nachos (terrible example of nachos, dry chips with a few jalapeno and cherry tomato chunks surrounding a shot glass of nacho cheese sauce, I do NOT recommend this dish) as an appetizer but it came out at the same time as the two pizzas we ordered and my friend had to wait over 30 minutes for his spaghetti dish to be served. I strongly recommend a full re-training of the K Lounge wait staff, this dining experience was a terrible way to introduce a group to the resort. The rooms are nice and clean with great views but are a bit out dated. Our biggest pet peeve about the rooms were the silly piece of glass they think keeps the water in the tub as you shower. The glass was too short in all directions and would result in a mess on the floor everytime. Instead of a nice big queen size bed they pushed 2 smaller beds together which would seperate from each other throughout the night leading to waking up in the night and pushing everything back in to place. We couldn't figure out how to get the air conditioning to work and the ceiling fan spun too slow to make much of a difference...

Frustrating, didn’t meet expectations
The hot water ran out in the entire section of the building and they had to move me to a different room in the middle of the night. They claimed my new room was an upgrade but one of the mattresses was uncomfortable and the room was unreasonably hot even though it was winter, the heat was off, and had two windows open. My friend also asked for two twin beds but received a room with only one double bed. When he asked the front desk they said he only got one bed because he’s only one person… I was also one person but was given two twin beds. They need more knowledgeable staff, a more generous refund policy, and definitely better mattresses, especially for a 4-star hotel.

I have stayed at this hotel in the past and have been totally satisfied, but this time they had three clowns interrupting the peace and quiet with insane disco music all round the main pool every afternoon, allowing and encouraging lots of small children to dive bomb the pool, when the notices around the pool forbid this activity!
They dressed up in Micky mouse costumes in the evening and walked around the dining room interrupting our meals.
If I wanted to go to Disney land in Florida or France I would have booked it! I don’t expect a four star hotel to subject there guest to this kind of so called false entertainment!
With regret I will not be booking into this hotel again, until this kind of nonsense is stopped!!

Paradise Bay hotel is as the name says.
Returned many times always a pleasure. Reception staff most helpful welcoming with a smile and nothing too much trouble especially from long serving Victoria and Joanne. Rooms are well furnished and spotless thanks to Housekeeping. Every effort is made on the eco front but sensible like changing laundry/towels only when required instead of auto. Perhaps the catering has slipped a bit but coming back to high standard set prior to Covid precautions. I recommend the hotel particularly for its closeness to the Gozo Ferry and all bus routes around the island from the bus stop directly outside the hotel. International guests and children friendly. Will be returning again.

Really disappointed. Whilst the hotel was lovely (although rooms a bit dated), we were really upset at the ‘pool day passes’ given t absolutely anyone. On the weekend and public holidays while we were there it was absolutely awful. Huge parties of rude, loud and dirty people white no respect for others took over the pools. Then the horrible loud music being blasted beside the pools was just too much. Such a shame as it has always been a lively place to stay. The food however and the housekeeper Joyce were amazing

My friends and I had a horrible stay at your hotel from 4th June to 5th June room 128. During our stay we encountered a number of unsatisfactory service levels that I think you should know of and hopefully do something about.
First, we did not have air conditioning during the night. When we informed the receptionist, she informed us that the air conditioning only works during the day, beginning at 6 p.m. Then we asked if they could at least give us a fan to use until the AC came on, but they said they didn't have any.
Secondly, the maintenance man entered the room without knocking on the door.
I hope you agree with me that this type of service is unacceptable. I would like to hear your thoughts about my complaint and the steps that you are willing to take to prevent such incidents in the future.

The views are absolutely stunning and except for the hotel manager lady, the rest of the staff is very helpful. Mellieha really is a place to sit back and relax, Valetta is almost an hour away by bus. Bus services in Malta are really good and cheap though. Now, the hotel food is not very good (except for the desserts) + there is absolutely no variety in the food served from day to night or day to day.

I was expecting more from the hotel of this standard - the leaking bath tub screen, the breakfast menu identical all week long, the room not cleaned for two days with cosmetics not replenished etc. We were offered complimentary coffee which in itself is a nice touch, as we were told to meet other guests - had it not been for the fact that it was the last day before departure.

Do not recommend this property at all. Besides everything being under construction and nothing like the pictures- the rooms were awful. They looked nothing like the pictures, our water didn’t work, outlets didn’t work, and the staff was very rude/not helpful. The front desk person tried to call the manager because nothing was working and the manager said I don’t work after 5pm and hung up. They wouldn’t give us a refund and we were about the leave and finally they had a last room available after saying there wasn’t one room for us when everything was broken. Spend the money somewhere else!

Paid for the best room on offer, arrived late and was stuck in a 1950’s box room (cheapest room in hotel). When I went to tell them at reception they said the computer system had gone down so couldn’t retrieve my booking, even though I had my confirmation that clearly stated I had booked a premium room. I eventually got moved into a “premium” room which has noisy, smelly and non-effective air conditioning so I booked myself on the next plane home that night and cut my trip short by two days. When the previously reliable hotels.com team contacted the hotel to voice these concerns the hotel avoided them and didn’t return calls so hotels.com could not refund me my payment.

If you get a sea view room, youre likely facing the car park and you will get street noise. Once I saw the room, I upgraded to a bay view room which was nicer. I had paid for a ‘higher view’ room, the hotel has 4 floors and the ‘higher view’ room to them means the 2nd floor…this doesnt seem like the kind of hotel which will give you something nicer even if it wont affect them e.g. a room on a higher floor even if it is empty.

Our stay in Malta was spoiled by this hotel. It started really badly with a poor reception, which was quite unfriendly. The corridors were damp and smelly and the rooms were dated. Aircon was too noisy to use. Also the 'seaview' room had a clear view of the ferry terminal and a busy road which operated 24/7!!!

Meal times were like organised chaos with queues for everything and the evening meal was tepid and tasteless. There’s not much to do nearby so a car or bus pass is essential unless you want to spend a week fighting for a sun bed whilst getting blasted with loud music

Overall good value for money - beautiful pool and sea views on both sides, lovely little sandy beach with very good service and a decent breakfast even though choice was limited. The staff was very helpful at the restaurant and on the beach but the staff attending the rooms were not fluent in English. The beach restaurant has really good food - we didn’t try the main restaurant for dinner. And location is good - far from the busy streets 😊

We stayed 4 nights after moving from a hotel in St. Pauls bay. The 3 outdoor pools and indoor are amazing, with jacuzzi too.

Food is a bit of issue since nothing within walking distance. So if you dont want to eat at the hotel need to take a bus or drive somewhere else. They could stock more light snacks on site for people who dont want to do buffet meal.

Lovely room and balcony overlooking the pool and Paradise Bay was well worth the upgrade. The food and drink were excellent at the hotel and at the hotel's beach club. Swimming pools were very warm water but could use stairs to the sea for a cooler dip. The beach and beach club restaurant were excellent with free sun loungers for hotel guests. Overall I would rate this excellent.
