Bad location, urban condo style, poor amenities and surroundings. Room (Bella Leona apartments) located in a condo, far from the reception and amenities, but more important the condo looks and feels like a high-density suburb in any city of south san jose, nothing like a resort or even a beach destination. Sensation is that we were in a neighborhood of san jose and not a nice one. The entrance was gated with a key that you have to get out of the car each time to go in and out, which could imply the area is not safe enough. Not a beach experience, not a comfortable one.

The property is deceiving. The agency promotes the property that is with the beachfront but it is NOT. You have to drive or use the bus to get to the beach. The rooms are far away from the beach. You have to sell the business with transparency. If I did not rent the car, it was going tobe a nightmare. In addition. the road to get there is terrible. Disgusting I would say. You can do better. The property is huge and we had an amazing time by the beach.

I'm rating my stay with 4 stars instead of 5 because the place is way too overestimated, too pricey. Food prices are ridiculous. Drinks prices in the pool are way too high.

Our favorite part about our stay was actually where we were at. We chose the affordable cabins next to Carabelas restaurant and they were amazing. The cabins were so surrounded by nature and felt completely private away from everyone else.

This property is a resort. I believe there were 3 pools (1 was for children) a poolside bar, an tiki sushi bar. Two private beaches one right by the pools the other you drive a short distance to, definitely worth the drive, there were quite a few monkeys one with a baby on its back. Others trying to steel water out of peoples bags at the picnic tables. So fun!! It’s definitely a 5 star. The rental we were in was like a small condo unit with 2 units per place. All soundproofed. You can get 2 bedrooms, I believe I saw 3 bedroom units. It had it all. Everyone was so friendly. If I come back to Costa Rica this is where I’ll be.

Punta Leona have the closest white beach to the Central Valley. It’s a matter of 1.5 hours drive and you are there. Hotel surroundings like pools, bars and beachfront facilities are good and enjoyable.
However, some hotel rooms are not in best condition even though they were reconditioned recently. For instance, I was relocated because my shower was damaged.
Personnel attitude needs improvement. Some of them don’t have the kindness you would expect to see. However, some of them are outstanding. I have to mention Kristel, for instance. She made the rest of my trip nice and enjoyable, with her efficient and fast actions that saved the trip. Thanks Kristel!

The property was pretty and the access to the gorgeous beach amazing. My apartment was pretty awful. Half of the lights didn’t work, the shower door was broken, the bedding was terrible- the sheet was thread bare and looked like it had grease stains. Very rundown. Barely any vegetarian options and zero vegan. I was traveling solo and the restaurants pretty much ignored me. There was one server who was very kind, and the check in staff were great. The spa was lovely and the massage wonderful.

We were moved to the better part of the bungalows, directly across from the breakfast restaurant. MUCH BETTER!! The room was what we were expecting and We could flush the TP!!

Read carefully before booking.You might not get what you thought to reserve. Both hotel and Expedia were deceiving on the room selection. I booked a room assuming it was what the pictures showed and detailed on Expedia. To my surprise it was not what I booked but an apartment room. Good luck calling them it's impossible to get in contact with them. They do not respond in a timely matter and contact # is a nonfunctioning number so find an alternative way to reach Hotel Punta Leona. Breakfast is not included. There is a overpriced charge per person for breakfast buffet likewise for dinner. There are alternative restaurants and mini market on site. There is mini golf and pool options. Pools stays open late, clean. Limited seating but spacious pool areas. I believe it's overpriced for what you are getting. Bring your own blankets and toiletries. Shower and beach towels provided. No room service or after hour. If you are hungry you need to leave premises and go into town or main road. Not a 5 star hotel/ resort. It's a decent, mediocre place to book. I only booked because it was recommended by an associate/ owner. Also if you don't book with this specific hotel you will not get Beach access which used to be free to the public and it's a nice, relaxing, beautiful beach. Beach is a 20min walk. Never found the transportation they stated to provide. I had numerous issues but tried my best to enjoy since they have a non-refundable policy. All premises are clean.

We loved the beauty of the whole place. Lovely beaches, pool, restaurants and our room/ apt. On ground level was very nice.We had a rai forest shower with hot water, luxurious sheets and pillows with fridge, tv, coffee, etc.

The property a bit dated and the rooms a bit small, and we had the upgraded room. We were 3 adults and was barely ok. It be snug for 4 adults. The main pool is nice but the main attraction are the two beaches. They are very nice. Especially Playa Blanca. There are beautiful macaws and white face monkeys. The monkeys are little thieves too.

Roads in gated resort are very poorly maintained. Room wasn't ready at designated check in time. In first room no hot water and water flooded room from missing plumbing connection during shower. Phone in room didn't work to call reception. Maintenance came to fix clean up the watera nd told us that the plumbing was a known problem and room should not have been available for use. Was also told by maintenance that they should have told us that phones didn't work while checking in as this was also a known problem. Evening staff at reception was able to get us into another room but it obviously hadn't been used/cleaned recently as there was dust/dirt on floors and countertops.

Five were on the All-Inclusive Plan and my wife and I were on the Breakfast Included Plan so we had a different color bracelet. The service (lunch, dinner & bar) for us was slower. I usually had to ask for the check multiple times or chase someone down to pay.
Servers were watching us like hawks to make sure we didn't get anything free from our All-Inclusive friends. When I couldn't get anyone to get our bill while our five friends were constantly waiting for us,I would have to get up and start walking out and then they would chase me down. \"You have to pay! You have to pay!\" It seems they were making us wait for no reason.
Other than that, it was a nice property. The pool was clean and the ocean water was warm and clear.
The breakfast buffet was good. We did not try the lunch or dinner buffets.
Most of the other restaurant food we had was good to excellent. Prices were about the same as U.S. restaurants.
It was overall a good trip but I don't plan to return because I want to explore other parts of the country.

Then, just got a bad customer service.

El bar Mantas también es agradable y el personal es muy colaborador y amable con los pedidos que se les hace.

The staff was wonderful everywhere! I even de-magnetized my key card and the cleaning crew heard us having trouble and came over to help and got us a new key sent over. The facilities are fantastic with all the choices for food and pools, and the whole setup was beautiful and well maintained. We will be back!

Our accomodations, Arricefus, was off the normal shuttle route and required calling for a pickup. Room was spacious and well laid out. Lighting was poor, especially in bathroom. Should be one tv news channel in English

Un desastre mi estadía en Hotel Punta Leona Costa Rica . He tenido las peores experiencias en cuanto a servicio, el staff y hasta groserías..,desorden, desorganizacion. Sin hablar de los constantes problemas \"técnicos\" que tienen las habitaciones y el falso sistema \"todo\" incluido que es más un \"incluidas ciertas cosas\". El staff, los capitanes y demás no pierden oportunidad de recordarle a sus huéspedes el paquete qué compraron y que les incluye. Solo para hacerlos sentir mal (se puede escuchar a la gente en voz baja avergonzados contestando esas preguntas delante de los demás) Y aun así pretenden que se haga uno socio. Para que? Si así es la cosa pagando un montón. No me imagino siendo socio. Bien dijo un familiar. La mejor decisión que tome... Fue salirme de ese club. Y ahora entiendo por que.
