Stay away from this hotel.

I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. From the start, the front desk service was poor, with unhelpful and unfriendly staff. The entire hotel had an unpleasant odor.

Upon entering my room, I was met with a humid atmosphere and a strong smell of mold. The bathroom was unclean, with visible stains on the toilet and hair on the floor. Additionally, the window had a large crack, which created a dangerous gap when pressed. One of the pillows also smelled damp.

Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The property in really convenient to get to from the airport and to walk to most areas in the city. The room just seemed unkept, even though it was cleaned. It had a musky smell, due to the fact there was no ventalitation from the bathroom. On the upside, the pillows were amazing and wasn't a bad size.

I have checked in at 10.40 pm and i was given room 9405. Upon checking in and settling down into the room given, i noticed there was a cockroach on the bed, I haven't even unloaded my things as of yet.

Facilities and service are up to expectations for the price paid. One thing I dislike is that a receipt wasn't issued promptly upon my payment for another night's stay.
Other minor details the hotel could look into: (1) no TV guide was available for the TV in the room, or even a list of the channels;
(2) only one hook inside bathroom for hanging clothes & towel;
(3) water from basin must be controlled carefully or else it splashes powerfully;
(4) having Hailam Kopitiam downstairs discourages me from exploring other eating places in KL. Ok this is just a joke! It's a compliment on the wide variety available at all hours.

I've stayed at this hotel at least thrice now. Weather-permitting, the hotel is excellently located for exploring the Old Market, Berjaya Times Square, etc.

First I must tell you it is stated all tax inclusive and when I arrived I had to pay extra $30 tourist tax which was no where mentioned. The check in timing was stated on hotels. Com at 2pm but they say its 330pm and anything earlier will pay extra and so I paid extra $50 more. Before check in I say I will only stay 2 nights and ask if can refund the 3rd night or inform hotels. Com and they said no. I felt cheated by all these extra charges. Service by the staff is terrible too.

We had booked for 4 nights here, but after seeing the room we were very disappointed, it was very basic and tired. There were marks all over the table, a towel hanger in the bathroom was hanging off, and the safe didnt close properly and when i tried to close it, the door fell off. The safe itself was attached to a shelf in the wardrobe, but this shelf was nt fixed to the frame and could be lifted out. Not very \"safe\".
We checked out the next morning, as we couldn't face staying there for 3 more nights.

Hotel is more for business trips.

The hotel is clean but service is quite low as sometimes you to request for basic things such as water bottles and coffee or tea although sometimes they don’t come to clean your room.
Had one experience seeing a lizard and small cockroach in my room.
Staff are friendly and wifi service is very fast.
View from hotel is quite simple and hotel surrounded with few markets like 7eleven, Vmart and Hailam Resturant.
Note: Hair dryer was broken.

The room is beautiful n nice.. But the problem is, u can't talk normally or laugh cause people from beside room can hear n they'll feel uncomfortable as if i was doing something improper..n there's a door in between room.. Even walking around the room can be heard.. Then people beside complain, and i got a call to keep it quiet cause other guest are resting.. Imagine me the whole time in the room being a ninja, to keep all quiet as possible .. Even in the bathroom .. It's tiring..

The hotel is conveniently located in Bukit Bintang, just minutes away from Central Marker and Alor food night market.
The hotel looks okay but my room wasnt very clean, brown stain on floor and walls, even some black stain on my pillow. In the bathroom, there is no shampoo but 2 bottles of bath gel one green and one purple. Not sure if it was just my room but phone signal was very weak or none. There is free Wi-Fi but unstable sometimes.
Worst of all, I was given a connecting room which has a door in your room to access the next room directly. The door is not very sound proof, I could hear my neighbor sneezing, burping, showering, blow drying hair.. everything loud and clear. Plus there is a alarm on the hotel room door which goes off if you don't close the door within 5 seconds or something, so besides the noise from my neighbour, the noise from the hallway was annoying too.
I complained to the staff at 1am and they werent apologetic, but willing to help. A staff came up to investigate and asked my neighbor to keep noise level down. (But it wasn't my neighbors fault for getting a connecting room with no sound proof door)
Overall, it is a okay hotel if you like the location and you are a sound sleeper and not picky about the cleanliness and if you don't need to use your cell phone to make calls.
Next time I would rather pay more to stay at a better hotel.

Rooms are rather compact, although they appear larger in the pictures. Check in was OK. Wi-Fi was OK. Kettle in the room, but no cups. Hardly any place to dump your luggage. No fridge. Bathroom is tiny – the shower head is practically on top of the toilet. Window, but not much of a view as they built this chip board wooden façade to house the TV & a small wardrobe. Not good value for money as there are many more hotels in KL offering better quality rooms.
Location is good for all sightseeing.

Worst hotel experience ever

Bed bugs all over. Aircon turns on but cannot cool the room. House keeping guy folds the used towels and places on bed again. Complained 3 times yet no effort to improve service. Wash basin blockage. Tv screen showing split images. No mini bar in room to even drink cold water. Not noise proof as you can hear people outside.

For the good Points, the staff is very accommodating, they helped me a lot and answered all my questions, Hotel 99 near places where it is cheap to shop.

Now for the not so good experience.I requested for a non-smoking room months prior to my stay. They put me in a non smoking romm but on a smoking floor. I am astmatic so i always request for non smoking areas. It was terrible. I was coughing the whole stay there. I told them ablut this and they responded that it was a holiday and the hotel was fully booked. I had to wear a mask the whole time. Dont stay thee if you a asthmatic.
The room needs some work out when it comes to cleanliness. The waste materials stick on the sealant of the toilet bowl at the bottom portion. There is also a residue of waste on the sealant of the sink.

Noisiest Hotel I have stayed

Stayed 5 nights in Feb 2017. Changed room THREE times & yet so noisy.

Noises came from staff at Midnight onwards. They might be cleaning or god knows what they were doing.

Room had cockroaches and ants. Never will I stay in this hotel. Bad choice.

But the only good thing is that LRT was so close & staff friendly and hotel was about 30 USD.

Experience sleeping with cockroaches

We had to sleep with the light on as it was full of cockroaches everywere in the room. I had to spend the night killing them.
At the check in, they had to give me an upgrade (to the later cockroaches´s room) because the photos of the \"standard\" room I booked in Expedia belong to the \"Suite\" room.

Worst hotel in 30 years and 50 countries visited.

I have never written a bad review of a hotel. Even when we stayed at a place that had bed bugs, I could not bring myself to leave a bad review because our host was a very poor local gentleman who was very nice and may have lost his job if we complained.

Hotel 99 was a great disappointment. I have stayed in some poor places, but they never pretended to be something they were not. Hotel 99 on the other hand, gets a 1 star from me because of their outright misrepresentation of their property. It is a very poor and dirty hotel, but on the booking website they have staged photos that make the place look fantastic! These photos are a complete fabrication! I'll list the pros and cons below and you can decide if you think its worth the stay.

Since I am actually an optimist, I'll start with the pros.

1) Good central location within walking distance or a short train ride of most city centre attractions.
2) Nice powerful hot water shower.
3) Bed with no bed bugs (which can be quite common in low budget hotels)
4) Nice well kept reception area
5) Great price

Cons - this list is long so I'll mention just a few

1) Sick and sick stains on the floor in the corridor.
2) Numerous cockroaches in the bedroom.
3) Very poor wifi
4) Very poor air con, that turns off when you leave the room, so it takes 2 hours to cool the room after you enter
5) Ladies of the night applying their trade next door.
6) People smoking everywhere so smoke enters your room

Hotel 99 was good. The staff were not so much friendly, but they provided help when requested. It's in front of the metro station (Plaza Rakyat) which facilitated movement a lot. It was surrounded by many restaurants and fast food places and street markets.
The room was a little bit tiny, but we managed. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nicely spacious. Housekeeping was good but the forget to put stuff like shower gel, so we had to ask them. The TV was okay, needed more English channels. The room was clean on the first two days and then BOOM small cockroaches every now and then. We didn't mention anything to them so maybe they would've fixed it. The room lighting was so nice and romantic. The drapes were okay but needed to cover the whole window more as I woke up from slightest sunlight. Overall, the place is nice and good for the money paid in it.

The room is very small. There is no much space for luggage. The walls are very thin. We can hear people from the other rooms, upstairs and downstairs, and corridor all the time. You hear toilet flushing and people taking a bath all the time. The bathroom is not well designed. The who place is wet after a shower because of the layout.

They do not allow you to have more than 1 room card, even when there are 2 adults staying in the room. The wifi is woeful. My 3g card is much faster.

The location is not great too. would select another location next time. It is not near shopping centres or public transport. Luckily there is Uber and Grab, otherwise we are left with Taxi drivers, and not know how much it will cost to get to places.

Air conditioner doesn't work well. Takes a long time to cool down and can be quite noisy when you start it up initially.

Stay at your own risk.

Reasonable rate for a 3 star hotel

1. GOOD THINGS TO CONSIDER:
* Reasonable rate.
* Friendly staff.
* Hotel 99 is in a convenient location for you to go right to Chinatown, Central Market (5-10 minutes walk through Pudu Central on the other side of the street) and left to other attractions in KLCC & Golden Triangle areas: 15-20 minutes walk to Pavillion shopping centre (best shopping centre), 8-10RM by taxi; 10 minutes to Low Yat Plaza if you want to buy electrical stuff such as mobile phones etc.
* There is a safe in the room for your passports

2. BAD THINGS TO AWARE:
*Wifi is up and down.
*Air conditioning is slow.
*The hotel will give you only one key (50RM deposit when check in) to enter your room so if one of you want to sleep in the room, the other person will wake you up when he or she returns (some hotels will give you 2 keys).
*Breakfast is monotone with fried rice, noodle, egg, potato or chip & chicken sausages everyday (you can't expect more for what you pay). Should have breakfast in Chinatown or Jalan Alor (back street, 5 minutes walk). Remember food is cheap in KL.

3: Close to a Catholic church (on the other side of the street 5 minutes walk; 9:30am Sunday mass in English; however the parish priest will have 90 minutes mass with a long homily).

4. You don't need to arrange transport from airport to the hotel because it will be cheaper (and easy) to book a taxi to go to the hotel at level 1 in KLIA2 with metered taxi or buy a coupon (approximately 75-80 RM from airport to Hotel 99)

The worst experience in my life

The room is very small and Wi-Fi is very weak , Room service Enter your room without your permission , Bed is not clean at all, look under the bed and you know what I mean , the bed has red bugs in it , i wake in the morning and i found out that i get red bugs bite 5 time in my back It was very painful , I strongly advise you to not book this hotel.

I booked the Deluxe Queen Room here listed as 20 m2. I measured about 19 m2, so that sounds about right. There's not much to do at night around here. For bars and nightlife, you are going to have to take a taxi/Uber. They let me check out at 2pm without charging me extra, which was nice.

I wouldn't recommend staying here at all. To start off with, the 1st room that was offered to us was filthy with chewing gum on the floor, blood on sheets, water seeping through the wall, tiny bathroom with the shower directly on top of the toilet
We asked for a different room and were given one straight away. But that wasn't perfect either, was generally untidy.
We ordered the breakfast and that was a huge let down. Mostly undercooked or cold
The wifi was a huge lag. It came on and off and when complained to the maintenance guy he was very upset with us and his treatment made us feel that we were at wrong.
the Phone and the Hair-dryer didn't work. the Hot water was turned off in the morning.
Also the Aircon was not cooling even when turned to the lowest
Overall it was a Horrible stay and would recommend to look elsewhere

Stated there Non-smoking room, but all room have ashtray and smells terrible smoking smell. Aircond must on the \"turbo\" button to operate in cold type then needed to wait for 15-30 minutes to get the room cold. Depends which room you are located. Worst thing is the window is directly facing the road! The cars and people can look into your room. What's the meaning to us that with or without Windows??!! Moreover, the safety door lock was broken, not feeling secure to leave anything inside the room. The open car park of the hotel still charging for RM8 per entry. I wouldn't stay this hotel again.

Nice hotel with everything close by

We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights, which is located next to Pudu Sentral. When we arrived at the airport we grabbed the bus to the city and the station is almost next to the hotel which was very convenient. Everything you need is just around the corner including several restaurants, fast food, supermarkets. You can easily walk to Central Market, Petronas Twin Towers, Bukit Bintang.
The only thing that could be improved is the breakfast. There is not much to choose from.

Good location, good value for money

I was traveling with three mates, we choose this hotel for its centric location. Walking distance to the Chinese district and the nightlife.
Hotel is good for the price you pay. Do not expect a 5 star hotel. However was clean and with most of the required amenities. Only downside is the bathroom as the shower has no separation so everything turns into a swiming pool after the first shower.

Very great hotel

The staff is very helpful when we have troble with the kettle and tv. The location is very great, mtr station is just opposite the hotel. The breakfast is excellent.

100% recommend

This hotel was perfect - couldn't fault it at all and we would highly recommend. They let us check in 3 hours early - which after a long flight was much appreciated!

Average Stay for one night.

Average - Room walls were dirty with a musky stench along the corridor but OK for one night stay. Distance to Berjaya Times Square is relatively far (about 20-30mins slow walk) and not ideal with elderly/family members who can only take short walks.

Close to transport, a small selection of nice eating places very close by, 15 miniutes walk from Petailing street, low yat mall which very close to Times Square.
The hotel is very basic, but very clean and good value for money. The windowless rooms are excellent for shift workers and good for the experience if you don't need a lot of room.
