Good location, well thought-out room with all standard hotel amenities available. iPad controls were easy to use and control lights, temperature and so on. Due to the narrow capsule-style design with large bed taking up whole of one end of the room there isn't much 'living/sitting' space but for single traveller or couple spending the day out and about it is great.

Rooms are thoughtfully and practically designed for travellers with minimalist tastes. Linens and towels are pristine and staff very responsive and helpful. One star taken off for poor sound-proofing of rooms. Top-notch evening staff were immediately responsive and dealt with loud, unruly neighbours.

I stayed at this hotel for four nights and had a very pleasant experience overall. I’ve stayed here before and continue to appreciate the consistent standards across the brand, which is one of the reasons I keep coming back.

The room was very clean and comfortable, with an excellent bed that made for great nights of sleep. The bathroom and shower were spotless, and everything felt well maintained.

The hotel’s in-room technology, controlled via an iPad, is a nice concept and generally worked well, although there were a couple of minor technical hiccups during the stay. The staff was responsive and addressed any issues promptly, which I appreciated.

Breakfast was very good, with a nice selection and everything I needed to start the day.

Overall, this was a comfortable and enjoyable stay, and I would happily choose this hotel again on a future visit.

I love this hotel. It’s all computerized with lights, sleep mode, control temperature, curtains that go up and down. It’s very well designed. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast was also great and the cappuccino is the best. I was very comfortable and very happy staying there. I will stay in another CitizenM Hotel in the future. I highly recommend this hotel.

The bed was amazing and staff are very hospitable. The only problems I had were maybe that the room wasn’t cleaned thoroughly with every visit, just made the bed and changed the towel and that’s it. The staff were very kind, especially Hanisa was always very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good, I’d give it 7.5/10.

We had a problem with the iPad not changing the colors but that’s not a big deal. The iPad was helpful and very techy. I loved it!

Location is awesome! The famous Jalan Alor food street is just a couple-of-minute walk away and everything in Bukit Bintang area is walkable, yet the area around the hotel is not busy. I loved the convenience and how clean, comfortable, and modern the hotel was. Food was pretty good and cheap, staff was friendly and very helpful, and the room was pretty and cosy. We had a wonderful stay! We love the cosy and homey room, the view of KL and Twin Towers behind our bed, the smart home functions from the iPad, and last but not least the “rainfall” in the shower! The hotel has convenience stores at its ground floor, and nearby is the buzzing Jalan Alor food street. The staff were very friendly and attentive to your queries.

The property was central to what I required for my stay in KL.
The hotel lacked the provisions to be able to eat a breakfast. no fried eggs available-scramble eggs cold every day that I stayed . For Rm42 the breakfast rating is zero. One morning the breakfast Bar ran out of bake beans, why with kitchen staff on sight. My 15 day stay was great.

For the price I paid compared to other hotels, I was surprised to see how clean, convenient and nice the hotel was. Room size is not so big but everything is placed so thoughtfully that it doesn’t feel small and bed is king size and comfortable. Also they have the coziest and artsy environment at lobby and lounges where you can hang out with books and computers. Colors and arts are done tastefully and ℹ definitely loved the ambience and staffs . Tony who I assume to be head of regional managers or is one was there. He was super hospitable, friendly and helpful. We will come back there again.

High tech but lacking the basics

The hotel was ok and used technology to control everything in the room. It had a co-working area, a kitchen and friendly staff.

Room was a decent size with good aircon and easy controls. Where it falls short is the shower was lukewarm and every time I wanted a hot drink I had to go downstairs and use the hot water dispenser which also only distributed WARM water. As someone who relies on medicine that requires hot water this was very inconvenient at times.

The bathroom was very small and left very little room to get dry. I had to step outside of the bathroom to dry off. That combined with the lukewarm shower is one reason for this rating.

Oh and the 'garden view' room faces an indoor terrace where you can't see outside and you can't tell if it's light or dark ir what the weather is like.

So the hotel was ok but really needs an extra focus on the basics.

The single best staff we’ve ever encountered.

We have been traveling the world for one year straight. We stayed at the CitizenM for nine nights during our recent visit. The staff at the hotel has been, by, the best trained, most hospitable and accommodating, and friendliest staff we’ve ever encountered.

Hotel has an excellent location, a great lobby with great work and seating areas, great art and decor (take the art tour inside the property), a full-service bat and an excellent snack and meal menu.

Staff went out of the way to make us feel like VIPs. Red carpet was out 24/7. Sad to leave. What an exemplary experience. Kudos to each and every staff member. We miss you all already.

Our very highest recommendation. Would only stay here when we return to Kuala Lumpur.

If you’re a solo traveler, citizenM Kuala Lumpur Bukit Bintang is a solid choice. The standout feature of this hotel is its prime location—just a short walk from Jalan Alor Market and the many malls, restaurants, and vibrant nightlife of Bukit Bintang. You’ll definitely appreciate the convenience of being so close to everything.

The breakfast is another highlight. The food was not only tasty but also offered a wide selection, which adds great value to the stay.

However, there are a few downsides worth mentioning. The rooms are compact, so they may feel cramped if you’re traveling with more than one person. The iPads used to control room amenities—while a modern concept—are outdated and frustratingly slow to use. Additionally, the lobby and hallways are warm and lack proper central air conditioning, which can be uncomfortable after returning from the city’s heat.

Overall, this hotel is ideal for solo travelers who prioritize location and don’t mind minimalist spaces. A little tech and cooling upgrade could make the experience even better.

Great location at the bottom of Jalan Alor. There's also a bunch of cute hipster restaurants across the street. The imbi station (of the monorail) is pretty close if you want to hop on the monorail. A quick drive/easy walk to Chinatown. The staff are great. I was having trouble getting my phone to connect with their TV and she spent ages trying to fix it, until we determined that it was the TV's fault, so they moved me. I asked for somewhere to leave my bag (I had a 9pm flight home) and they held my luggage and also let me use a shower in the conference room area so I could freshen up before my flight.
