Front desk had terrible customer service, the pool was down & I would have gotten a cheaper room that didn’t have a pool had I known that, the side access door remained unlocked through the night , the tub spout is coming off of the wall , the face of the bathroom vanity was ripped off , and the walls were so paper thin and non insulated you could hear everyone in their rooms. Horrible. For the amount we paid for the weekend we expected better. Upon arrival there was a sign the pool and hot tub were out, the side door to get in the building had no lock on it, we entered the room to find no smoke detector, a broken bathroom door and a broken dresser, no screen on the window, and stains on both of the blankets and sheets of both beds. When brought that to the clerks attention he wasn't very helpful. The next morning after calling customer service the desk clerk was trying to help us. He was trying to get the manager to call us and sent maintenance in to put in a smoke detector later in the day. I understand that the hotel was under new management and construction but informing people on that on the website that would be helpful not at checkin. Saturday we waited around the hotel room until almost 2pm waiting on a call from the manager. We wasted the day waiting so we left. Still no call all day. Sunday we went to check out at 10am and still no phone call from the manager. The desk clerk was very apologetic and said he tried numerous times to contact her. We left with no phone call, nothing from the manager. Management needs to do better.

We booked a jacuzzi room for an extended Valentine’s weekend. The room was clean, comfortable bed, and as pictured. The staff was nice & helpful. Our only complaint is that we were wanting to enjoy the pool. It was shut down for a complete renovation. We wouldnt hesitate to wtay again.

The exterior door near our room was unlocked meaning anyone could enter the hotel anytime day or night. The front desk did not have staff at reception-you had to call to request help or have someone come to the front desk. Our room had all the basics covered. The decor could a use a refresh, but it was clean which matters more imo. The property says it accepts dogs for $25 a night which is why we decided to stay there. There was no place on the reservation to state you would be traveling with a pet or the hotel's rule that you can’t leave your dog alone in the room. We let the property know we needed a pet friendly room when we preregistered, but the hotel said they didn’t receive the info. When we arrived, We were informed that if we left the pet in the room and people complained they would call the pound and have the dog removed. I get the feeling they have had issues in the past with guests and their dogs and have had to be heavy handed in response. We stayed a month at a Baymont in Florida this summer and the property and staff were so accommodating toward our pet it was just very surprising how this property reacted. If you are bringing a pet, I would call in advance. The low rating is predominantly because the lack of staff presence and unlocked and insecure entries.

The pool is falling apart and can’t be used and they don’t tell you that until you arrive. The ceiling in the room with the pool has fallen in and has huge holes in it. The rooms are dirty and freezing. The chair had stuffing coming out and huge visible holes. The bathroom was gross and had stains on the counter that I washed off. There’s small holes all over the wall like when they moved furniture it hit the walls. The staff is nowhere to be found. They care so much about you sneaking a dog in that they don’t care about much else. For breakfast it was yesterday’s gravy in a crock pot, some yogurt, cold coffee, cold sausages, the bagels were wet and one had mold on it. The hallway ceiling has obvious water damage and hangs down. Just disappointing for the 140$ spent. What a waste.

You know Expedia I know you’re third-party, but you should at least have an update right away like when people are placing reservations to tell people rather not the hot tub or the pools or condition I made arrangements to hang out with my son that weekend and who are surprise and dismay. Melanie was the rooms it’s just satisfactory, but the overall general of my stainless forfeited trying to get away from the cold to enjoy some pool time with my kid. This is the second time I went to the other hotel that you guys recommended in that hotel smelled like cigarettes and it was supposed to be a clean room may consider just booking myself from now on

The room seemed clean but had a smell nome of us enjoyed. The tile was missing from the counter top in the bathroom. And the pool and spa were down for maintenance. They did let us drive next door to the quality inn and swim but the hot tub was dirty and had grime on the walls and i saw green, what i assume was fungi, in the bubbles of the hot tub. The breakfast was not very good i know its free but conpared to other free breakfasts there was less options and the quality just wasnt as good. They did allow a free late check out time at 1 pm which was convenient but i wouldnt recommend.

The room was fantastic! However, there were no working food or candy vending machines in the building and only one soda vending machine worked. The big thing is we stay here because of the pool and hot tub which was closed and has been closed indefinitely until they’re able to repair it. If we know the pool is not functioning, we would not have stayed at this location. Also, the continental breakfast was not very good and had very little selection.

Hotel is in poor condition. Breakfast was terrible. Stale bagels, no eggs, and no hash browns. TV, phone, and WiFi didn’t work. Shower was slimy. Exhaust fan and hair dryer were filthy dirty. Only one elevator - had to wait around 5 minutes to use it because housekeeping staff was using it to transport the clean and dirty linens. Front door was broken and there was a leak in the lobby.

The room we stayed in was a handicap accessible room with an absolutely disgusting shower bench, a mix of different tiles installed at different levels on the floor making it uneven, a loose toilet that felt like it was absolutely going to come off of the floor and a severely cracked shower pan which is fiberglass which could very easily lead to someone cutting their foot. The bed is installed over a metal grid and a metal box to cover the underside of the bed which is painted Black and you cannot see leading into ramming our toes into it while standing at the edge of the bed and quite honestly felt like we slept on a rigid board. Definitely will not be staying at that location again!

The first impression was the front door and handicap buttons were broke. Which was a bummer, not the end of the world but not great. But as soon as you enter the hotel, there is a scent. I’m not sure what exactly it is. But it is a mixture of cleaning supplies smells and a funky smell. It is strong in the lobby and all the way on the third floor. The bedsheets had a weird blackish stain on the corner of the sheet. There was a random smudge on the wall that was brown and suspicious looking. There was also no soap in the bathroom. The shampoo and conditioner were nice though. It wasn’t the worst hotel stay, but definitely not worth the money in my opinion.

There was dust on the lamps, spoiled milk in the fridge for breakfast, the soda machines did not work and housekeeping barged in when we had the Do Not Disturb sign on the door. I also had to clean a big wad of black hair off of the side of the shower wall.

The first room we were given wasn't actually ready. We got up to the room, door open, sheets stripped, still garbage in the room.
Second room didn't have hand soap and was out of body soap. Half of the bottom of the bathroom vanity was missing the siding, and the tv/cable didn't work. Wifi sucked. AC sucked. Curtains missing pieces and didn't block out the light well. Hot tub didn't have enough towels. Definitely not worth the overall nearly $200 / night. Very disappointed. There was no extra slide lock on the door. The jetted tub had the hot water labeled blue and the cold labeled red so it took a minute to adjust the temperature. The shower tub drain didn't stay open so the tub filled with water when showering. The shower floor was very slippery and I fell against the tub getting in to the shower. The toilet was leaking and the bed was hard as a rock. The breakfast of biscuits and gravy and sausage was awful. For the cost of what we paid for the room it was a huge disappointment. They couldn't really do much for us since we went through a third party instead of booking directly.

One of the Best Stays in New Buffalo!

We had a fantastic experience at the Baymont in New Buffalo, MI. The staff went above and beyond—super friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. What really stood out was the pool and jacuzzi—hands down the nicest in the area. Clean, relaxing, and perfect after a long day. Highly recommend this spot whether you're visiting for a quick getaway or passing through. We’ll definitely be back!

The staff was not empowered to make things right. My rate was double what my friends got for the exact room

My toilet overflowed full if human waste!! They didn’tmakecanyvadjystnwnts for that disaster.

The breakfast was inedible. Phony cold eggs. Dried out cold sausages. No water to drink.

My tv remote didn’t work.

I tried to call customer service. Got no satisfaction. Pricey rate for dilapidated opera. Needs renovation.
