It was really just so gross. First room we entered hadn’t been cleaned AND there was a bottle of raid on the bathroom floor and bugs everywhere. When we entered the bedroom there were bugs crawling on the bed!

I have stayed here a couple times. Was worried initially that it wouldn’t be very good considering the low price… but this is a good place! IMO worth the cost (we paid about $60-70 per night in late 2025). No frills, but more importantly- no bad surprises.

The owner's (I believe anyway) greeted me and checked me in with the most pleasant attitude. Place was clean and well maintained. Staff was available and pleasant also. I believe it's an older building, but they have updated and work to keep it that way. Definitely a great place to stay... and price was great too.

Real reviewer here.i stayed4 nights total, HJ Lexington was a great value for the price (my rate was about $65/night). Place was clean, well run, room was comfortable clean and quiet. Have stayed other places in general area 2x the cost which weren’t so great. I want there to cycle and “get away”. Good choice, imo, especially for the cost. Safari njema (Swahili for “safe travels “).

This pig has enough lipstick on it that it takes a couple weeks to notice the problems. They have a huge stink bug infestation. It is very noisy, and housekeeping makes a big deal out of getting in every so often, even waking people ip knowing we are working night shift. When they come in I really don't know what they do, because the fuzz growing in the toilet is still there after. If you dont have the budget for something nicer just skip Lexington unless you are here for work.

Room wasn’t very clean at all

Upon checking in I informed them I. We’d to extend my room an additional day. Told them for two days.
I get a call that if I don’t come back and vacate my room immediately they would pack my belongings for me and leave them at the front desk. Front desk was extremely rude.
I have been staying here for years and it has definitely gone down hill recently. Do not recommend

Sheets were dirty with crumbs and hair and when asked to make a new bed the staff was rude. Fire alarm also went off at around 9pm when we were about to sleep after a long day and staff was very unserious and didn’t know what the cause was or didn’t explain anything to us. After the fire department came and turned off the alarm, the front desk didn’t even say anything to us and was not sympathetic about the issue. The view was nice and overlooking the mountains but that was about the only good thing. Will not be coming back.

Hotel sits atop a hill overlooking the mountains beyond; however, the noise while on the balcony took away any chance of enjoying the view and hotel did not offer any chairs to sit in the balcony either. Hallways smelled of curry and I could smell cigarette smoke as well. Breakfast was just carbs, and not a wide selection.

I rented 2 non-smoking rooms; one room was fine and the other one smelled like cigarette smoke; to include the bed. Front desk gave me some spray but didn’t believe me when I told them that it smelled. We checked in late and there were no other rooms but thank goodness we were only there for one night. Our feet feet/socks were dirty from walking on the floor in both rooms. Breakfast was just alright.

The property is older and shows its age. Towels aren’t delivered to the room you’ll need to pick them up yourself. The staff is friendly, but they are limited, which you can notice in small details like trash collecting near one of the entrances and build-up on the glass patio doors in the room, the floors are vinyl and that is definitely a plus for cleanliness.

Breakfast is simple and mostly carb-heavy: toast, cereal, waffles, bagels, and some yogurt. Overall, it’s nothing fancy, but for the price, it’s fair.

we've been staying here since 2019 its on our way from SC to CT where we live. Its never been a 5 star place, but always clean and good staff that helps. But last night our room's floor was horrible! It was slimy and I made sure they knew it-we stayed and left first thing in the morning. They used to have eggs for breakfast, but no longer do. I am thinking there was an owner change or manager change, because we never had such a horrible room to stay in.

This place’s carpet is so dirty, no floor towel so you have to use the regular towel on the floor, which means other guests do the same and the chance you use the towel on your face and body have been stepped on by other people and cleaned the floor as well. The bathroom has mode, so scary.

Pleasant surprise

We are used to staying in Marriott hotels because I have benefits but there wasn’t one any where close by so I chose this hotel based on price and reviews. When we pulled up, I was a bit anxious about what I would see inside and I must say…. I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were clean, beds comfy…. There was a bit of a smell which I couldn’t put my finger on but the area has a thing with stink bugs which the front desk has a warning about. Don’t worry… there were no bugs in the room just outside. Each room has a sliding door window that gives you a great view of the lush, green hills and easy access to your vehicle. I wouldnt mind staying here again especially when you’re just passing through.

Staff was friendly and the breakfast was okay, but our room was disgusting. The bathroom had hair in many places, something gross on the light switch, and a black ring around the tub.

We had a pillow with blood on the pillow itself and the pillowcase that was in our room upon arrival. The throw pillows had questionable marks on them.

The room was very dusty, the fridge knob to adjust the temperature was broken and the carpet was very wet, which I discovered right after entering the room.

I was very disappointed with the state of our room.

Room 110 was extremely noisy with obnoxious outside noise because of the door from the hallway leading to the outside. Woken up at 5am every morning because of people slamming the door outside of our door! Completely obnoxious!! Our room being on the bottom floor did not have a safe lock to the outside from our outside bottom floor door. It would have been easily broken into. Overall, not great but I've stayed in worse.

They cancelled my reservation for no reason

My daughter and I drove 2000+ miles in 5 days. We arrived in Lexington at 12:30 am after wing in the car for 12 hours. We were told our reservation was cancelled because my card was declined. I know this is a lie 1) because I used that same card for the other 4 hotels we stayed at and every meal we ate without an issue 2) my cc company would’ve notified me. So no call, no email, no text. They just cancelled my room and we had to find a new place to stay at 1 am.

Roach i our bathroom, mold on the shower curtain. I wanted to leave as soon as possible. People stay here for extended times and have grilles and chairs on their patios. Lesson learned: You get what you pay for, $80, but really worth around $60 just for the bed; at least the floor was nice and not old carpet. Never again - for dinner check out The Palm Restaurant so good!

We stayed here overnight, and it was very comfortable. We appreciated the dog-friendly room on the first floor with the sliding patio door so we could easily walk the dogs. The view from this hotel is amazing. Nice view of the mountains. The only drawback was finding food. There are hardly any restaurants in the area. Despite in-room advertisements for KFC and Dominoes, both restaurants were closed. And of course the old Howard Johnson's restaurant onsite was long closed... it would have been nice to have a restaurant right there. So we ate road snacks for dinner and looked forward to free breakfast in the morning. The waffles were the bright spot in an otherwise so-so breakfast. If you are staying here, have a backup plan for food. But otherwise, a very comfortable stay. Staff is friendly.

there was mold in my room above my shower, as well as there was so much humidity in my room that our beds were both wet we requested for them to be changed out and by the time we came back, they were wet again because housekeeping turned off the AC after we had left back out. They were very thoughtful and put us on first floor with a sliding door to be able to let the dog out but we lost all the view from the balconys which was a let down. Would look at other hotels for future visits.

This property is definitely on the older side. Its kept up as well as expected. The towels in the room had stains in them. The balcony was a nice touch howevee didnt have any chairs or anything on them to utilize it. The veiw from our room was amazing. The location was perfect for what we needed. The worst part was breakfast. It literally had nothing but 2 types of bread slice options 2 types if bagel options, mini muffins, coffe and juice. Ive had better breakfast options at cheaper hotels then this. Ended up going to Ihop for breakfast which defeat the purpose of breakfast included. I didnt expected steak and eggs but usually there are hot options they did have a waffle maker that was conveniently broken.
