The two staff members I dealt with were pleasant. We were just passing through for the night.

My only hiccup was the room smelled moldy and musty

Well worth the price. The beds were comfortable, and the rooms were clean and well kept. The hotel is a little dated, but they make up for it with great service and attention to the little things.

Parking and breakfast and room size good. Comfortable bed but room and bathroom needed updating and a lingering smell in the bedroom which we couldn't identify.

Deb at the front desk is amazing!
It is a very convenient and nice place to stay as we show horses at the Virginia Horse Center.

Pros: clean room and peaceful location. Cons: No sound insulation between rooms. We could hear literally everything from the next door guest including blowing nose, talking on the phone, walking, flashing toliet, every TV sound loud, we couldn't sleep until midnight.
Found bath sink was clogged, draining very slow after check in. Reception told us there will be no one to fix over the weekend.

Not impressed with this hotel. It should be a regular Best Western and not a \"Plus.\" Bathroom was dirty with hair in it, permanent stains on the carpet, bathtub worn and not smooth surface. I was happy to get out of there. I wouldn't stay here again. The only nice touches I found were the filtered water in the lobby and a coffee machine 24/7 right off the lobby. Aside from this, I was generally disappointed. The housekeeping staff were very friendly in the hallways, but I can't say that my room was clean.

The carpet in our room was stained and the sink would clog up. Other than that the room was fine, spacious.

Clean facility in the countryside close to restaurants and downtown Lexington. The pool was a bit overwhelmed with kids so we never got to try it. The breakfast area was small for such a large hotel and the tables were all full when we arrived. Additional seating was roped off and we thought we would have to move barriers. The staff didn’t seem aware that the room was overfull. We did get a table at the last second.

We had our two Goldendoodles and we’ve stayed here before. The room seemed outdated and the carpet stained in one area. We did not find this during our last visit. I think a remodel could help.

Room carpet was very dirty. It smelled like someone had cooked shrimp in our room too. The smell never went away for the entire stay. Breakfast was not nearly as good as other Best Western Plus hotels I have stayed at. Parking was ample and the outside appearance was good but housekeeping and maintenance is definitely lacking.

Room was not cleaned properly. There was human hair in both the bathroom sink and bathtub. Also, the lighting fixtures were covered with dust and hairs and needed wiping down. The room had an odd smell. The rest of the facility was in good order and the free breakfast very good.

The hotel was clean and well kept, though a little bit dated. The room was clean and well supplied. The heat system was very noisy, and had a continuous high pitch while running, as did the refrigerator. The breakfast was well stocked and was clean. The staff person did an excellent job of refilling supplies, when needed. The parking area seemed secure and safe. Overall, the hotel was very nice.

Breakfast was a let down. The staff were nice. The room was very clean but the TV stand had a stain on it. Not sure if it was a throw up or a sauce but it was brown and liquid. It was on a spot that could have easily been missed by the cleaners unless they cleaned the whole stand then they would’ve found the stain.

The parking lot was safe. The beds were clean, the sheets were clean, the balcony was clean.

Honestly, everything was great except of the stain on the stand and the breakfast that could’ve been a bit better.

First floor room was surprisingly noisy with someone clomping above at 4:30AM … never had that problem before in a multi-story motel.

Also, someone left a dog yapping in a room down the hall for an hour in the evening. Really cruel to leave a dog alone in a motel room, not only for other guests but also for the dog!

Otherwise, this motel is reasonably priced for the area, clean, and a typical Best Western.

VMI Stay

Stayed for a VMI visit, great value, better service
I was impressed by how easy everything felt here: quick check-in, spotless room, comfortable bed, strong water pressure, reliable Wi-Fi, and quiet halls at night. The team at the front desk was friendly and responsive, exactly what you want after a long day on the road. Parking was hassle-free, and the location is convenient to VMI and historic Lexington. Breakfast offered hot and cold choices and was well-stocked. I’d absolutely stay again and recommend it to families visiting VMI or anyone passing through.

The staff was very friendly. They were helpful whenever we needed to switch rooms upon arrival, because the carpet in our second-floor room was soaking wet. They even gave us two rooms (one for free) to accomodate the five of us. However, the two rooms were not in good condition. Both of them smelled bad, and they were just generally in poor and shabby condition. The owner needs to do a complete refurbishment.

This is an interstate property which has been neglected by corporate investment.
The staff are doing all they can to maintain a property long overdue for renovation. Items exist which haven’t worked or are in a state of disrepair which have nothing to do with a reflection of how polite the staff are.
Gym: rusty
EV charger: “yeah, not sure that thing has ever really worked”
Pool: clean, newish furniture and a wooden picnic table just waiting to give a kid in a wet bathing suit a splinter
Towels: almost able to see through them
Bathroom: rust on fixtures
Window unit AC: doing it’s damnest in August heat
And don’t get me started on the key card that had to be re-keyed upon every entry.
Save yourself a headache, go to the new hotel TRU adjacent to the ChickFilA and walkable to a Dunkin if you are in town for an event at the Horse Center or travel kid’s sports (like us) frequently.

Checked in very late and even though I had called to let them know, front desk seemed annoyed when we arrived. Breakfast was the worst hotel breakfast I’ve ever had, however the one older lady working was ver attentive and eager to greet guests. Room was clean however there were some mold spots on bathroom ceiling. Wallpaper was very old and bubbling in several places, bed was nice, very springy. This hotel was rated very highly and I expected for for not only the price of a best western but the location. Not horrible but would not stay here again.
