This property was a mixed experience. It was clean and had new or stylish features, but it also badly needed a fresh coat of paint. It's vibe, which is really nice if you're into it, is of a dark jazz club --nicely unique. The staff were pleasant and the manager was very helpful in resolving a room issue at check-in.

Since I have sensitivities to odors/perfumes as well as to molds, it's an issue I wish I'd known before I booked a room here. Either the cleaners they use, or the building itself, had a fairly strong, peculiar odor to it. It didn't bother my husband, it did bother me. The suite I initially booked is located in the basement, and that quickly had me feeling nauseous. The manager quickly and graciously switched us to a very nice room on the upper floors. The smells were less (not absent) and I could open the window for fresh air so I felt better enough to stay.

The breakfast was convenient, but not tasty. The location is great, including close to the subway station. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The property is somewhat quirky, but not all in bad ways; in fact, has some bit of charm.

Clean, safe, and very polite friendly helpful staff. Ice cold water and fresh ground coffee in lobby. Solid air conditioning made it comfortable inside even in basement suites with no windows. Room was spacious. Sadang station is very close as is Pastel City and a bunch of other food options in and around side streets. Good place to stay for a trip to Seoul.

Not a good experience, unfortunately

We booked two nights at the hotel. The first room we received was not clean. The toilet had piss stains and the sink had tooth paste stains on it. We called reception and someone came up. To his credit, he looked appalled as well. We asked for another room and were offered a downgrade to the 13th floor (we were on the 14th floor). My wife insisted that we get an upgrade and we were moved to a suite on the 15th floor for one night. That room was wonderful, it had a jacuzzi and was very spacious. On the next day, however, we received another room on the 14th floor. That room had one curtain that wouldn't roll down all the way and was transparent. Which meant that during the day, it was impossible to get some shut-eye.

In general - it's a nice hotel. But we should've been offered an upgrade to begin with and the rooms need more maintenance. Too bad. It had a lot of potential.

The area is quite nice with lots of cafes and restaurants in the vicinity. The staff was friendly. Seems like the management is the problem.

Fantastic location near to subway station and many convenience stores & eateries within walking distance. The only downside was that the Terrace was completely covered up, which was a disappointment since we paid extra just to get a city view.

CONS: So little space although it claims to be Deluxe Double wi/ Balcony, 33 sq meter- NO cabinet, closets, desk or dresser no place to store your luggage & clothes other than a little rack. My wife & I felt as if we were in our old college dormitory full of clothes, shopping items & luggage laying around the bed, on the floor & ... for this unpleasant experience costed me about $100/day for 3 days. I paid extra $ than Standard Double to enjoy in a bit larger room; however, it'd turned out to be diasppointed VERY. Fancy bathroom took almost 1/2 of room space. (terrace/balcony is not what one'd imagine) Take Standard Double NOT Deluxe Double w/ Balcony. Average breakfast. Pros: excellent, friendly, courteous, professional front desk staff; cleaning staff & breakfast lady server; clean & well decorated room; lightings are bit dim but elegant; bed linen is crispy clean & mattress is so comfy; A/C works well; v convenient location near Sadang Sub Station, less than 5 min. from hotel, surrounded by many locals stores & restaurants, landmark building Pastel City nearby. Good for solo traveler w no luggage; not for foreigners; well pleased w/ all staff. However, I I'll not certainly go back to this hotel.

The disappointing features includes no-window and the size of room. Although, I booked the room with balcony, this weirdly designed balcony virtually blocked the whole view of the city.

Location is the best thing about this hotel. Its one block from Sadang Station. Blue and green lines, so easy to go to Gangnam, Myongdong and dongdaemun. The hotel is very close to Pastel city a modern building with restaurants and cafes. In front of the hotel there is a convenience store. The rooms are big, but little dark. Also the floors are not very clean and heater was always 30 degrees C/ 86F , I had to manually turn on aircon. The wifi is super slow , I did a test and was 1.86 Mbps. The worst were the sheets, I felt itchy everyday because it felt like sandpaper and the towels were very old, so at the end I had to change to another hotel. I would stay there if they have new sheets and towels. Area is great. I have korean friends so pastel city was a great meeting point for everybody. The staff were nice, but they forgot I asked for an iron and to repair my lamp.

Great design, felt like we were the only ones there even though it was almost booked out! Sort of a speakeasy feel, dark and a little cheesy-luxe but intimate and relaxing. Sheets were kind of scratchy if you're sensitive.

Nice design but avoid staying here

The hotel looks nice but is not practical, for actually staying there e.g no wardrobe or where to hang your towels. Staff did not speak English and were not helpful. Location was fine for my trip but overall do not stay in this location unless you need to. Breakfast was awful and consisted of unhealthy cereal and white bread. They have 3 hot options on the menu but these were not available with not explanation given.

Hotel rooms are clean, amenities are of good quality and rooms are spacious. The only issue is that there is no soundproof between the room door and the corridor so you can hear every single sound happening in the hallway.

Great little place. Paid about 90KW for week day, I thnk it runs about 120K on weekend these prices are about right. This is nice step up from the weird tacky Korean Love motels so it worked great for me. Big bathroom was necessary but worked well. Staff was super friendly. The local area has every type of food you want and is next to lines 2 and 4 to get you anywhere in Seoul. Loved it! Good for Solo, Biz, Couple. Too small for a family.

Me and my husband had a very comfortable 3 nights stay on winter season at Karashy hotel (Delux w balcony) receptionists are very friendly and helpful. The room very specious especially bathroom area, suit for couple. The room size is just nice for 2 pax (bigger than expected) I like the wooden floor and the automatic function toilet bowl. The location was great less than minute walk from Sadang station, exit 8 (please note there is only staircase at the exit 8 if I'm not wrong, a bit difficult if you come with a big size luggage) Lot of eateries nearby and 2 small supermarkets opposite. Value for money! love hotel concept!

there is no wardrobe (only 2 hangers)
However, just a small matter for both of us.

Clean and modern room with super friendly staffs

Very neat and modern hotel (both inside and outside) with walking distance to a subway station
Free parking is also available.
Our room got upgraded from private suite to VIP suite. Staffs are very very friendly.
Only drawback was that the suites are located in basements, so there's no natural lights.

A nice little boutique hotel

I changed my room 5 times the first day of check in and to my final room the next day. The room I original booked smelled of smoke and as a result, ended up moving 6 times. The staff however, were generous and tried to rectify the error with an upgrade and free breakfast. The staff are friendly and helpful.

The hotel was great and they had a lot of complementary services and items. The bed was so comfortable and the room was so nice. The subway location was right next to the hotel and the resturant in the basement was delicious. I loved the stay and would recommend it to others.

I had a wonderful experience staying here for 8 nights. The place is less than a min walk from sadang station exit 8. A lot of eateries around the neighbour. There are also direct airport bus #6016 that takes you to the hotel (not exactly at the door step. Gotta walk a little. Email the hotel directly and they'll give your the map). I checked in and out of the hotel twice and I had some requests and the receptionists always try their best to fulfil it. Very happy with my stay and will be back.

We stayed for two nights there during the month of May. The service was excellent; I lost my phone in a restaurant and the front desk was more than happy to help me in translating with the restaurant we had stayed at. They also helped us with other things, such as finding the closest bank, etc.

-Con: The one thing that I could not get over was the fact that the air conditioning was lacking. My girlfriend was fine with the room being warmer than normal but I could not get over it. Other

Great boutique hotel, but location is not the best

Stayed at the garden suite. Very sweet room. The room is nicely decorated, comfortable, has a nice bathroom with rain shower and separate premium bathtub. It has a closed terrace separate from the room and it as a nice Jacuzzi (spa) for 2 people. It also has a nice couch to chill out. The view is nice, as the terrace has floor-to-ceiling windows. Overall great experience.

Great space for the price.

We stayed in a VIP Suite for two nights. Service was great, our reception was good. We ordered room service but the restaurant is a seperate business than the hotel so we could not charge to the room so keep that in mind. You will want to have cash on you otherwise they will have to take your card and return it after they swipe it at the restaurant. Our room was in the basement so there is no windows and its easy to lose track of time. (Not that that mattered since we were on a romantic getaway)
The bathroom was gorgeous however, there was no outlet near the mirror which was a little inconvenient but we made do. There is no full length mirror either.
The main complaint we had was the fact that there were gnats flying around the whole time.
All in all we would definitely recommend this place to other people. If we ever go back we will book a room with a view.

My original room wasn't available which they gave me another room but they didnt offer a discount i thought i was getting a premium room till i saw my actual room and felt cheated out of my first night but over all the place is in a awkward spot other than that staff friendly rooms are amazing best rooms for the price. Chosen this hotel after seeing photos of their interior design, and after arrival, the hotel does not disappoint us. It is a nice boutique hotel with small but stylish lobby, just 3 to 4 rooms on each floor. The overall theme colour is black(as reading from blog, \"karashy\" means \"black\" in African language). We had booked for a deluxe double room. The room is not very big, but with a open bathing area of a oval shape bath tub as the centerpiece. You can overlook the neighborhood area through the floor-to-ceiling windows while enjoying the bath. There are separated shower area and toilet area. There's some tricky about switching on the air-conditioner. We were trying hard with the control on the wall, nevertheless, only afterwards with the help from the kind person front desk, we learned that actually the air-conditioning is worked through the TV remote control! You can also switch on/off the lights with that too. The location is a bit far from the city center, but it is right next to the Sadang metro station(exit 8 turn left, within 2 minutes walk). It takes about 20-30 minutes from Sadang station to the Seoul station(on the same metro line). Regardless of the a bit far away location(metro runs late till 11pm-12am), we still highly recommend people looking for a stylish boutique hotel in Seoul, especially for romantic couples.

Hidden Gem of a Hotel

The area of Sadang, where this hotel is located, is not the most commercial, so it won't have a lot of the attractions of the other hotels. However, this hotel is very modern, clean, and in terms of value very tough to beat. I also stayed at one of the larger hotels in Gangnam during my visit and I must have to say, that hotel did not compare to Karashy.

If you are worried about location there are two subway lines literally a few steps away from the hotel and cabs are plentiful along the main road.

The bed was comfortable, the wifi is free, and the toilet has a heated seat. The only downside is that the room does not have a closet, only a few hooks on the wall. Not a big deal for me but something to consider if you have a longer stay.

In summary, I was very pleased with my stay at Karashy and will definitely plan to stay there when I return to Seoul. Top notch value that is tough to beat.

VERY HARD BED!!!!

Very nice hotel room except the bed was just too HARD!! I slept on top of the comforter for extra padding and used the decoration blanket thingy as a blanket. Also, it was too warm in the room. Turned the temp down as low as it could go, but still had to leave the patio door open at night. Patio was enclosed and didn't offer much of a view because of the way it was constructed (basically wooden prison bars is the best way I can describe it#. Staff was always nice and helpful. Good location with many local restaurants outside the door and up and down the street. There was also Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts, and Popeyes and few minutes walk from hotel. Sadang Subway Station #line 2# was a few steps outside the door and made it an easy commute. Line 2 #circle line# takes you to Gangnam, Lotte World, Seoul station, and other places. Line 4 #transfer point but in same sation# takes you north to Seoul station. Airport bus picks up across the street, take the one that goes to Sadang station. Other than the HARD bed and limited view balcony, the room was very nice. Big tub, separate roomy shower, and flat screen with an english channel. Did I mention the bed was HARD #only reason for low rating#.

The Sadang area isn't a particularly interesting part of Seoul but the hotel is just a 1-minute walk from a subway station so it's very convenient. It's also very close to bus connections to cities in Gyeonngi-do. It's good to have a nice hotel in that part of the city. I'd definitely stay there again.

宿泊した客室に広いベランダがあったのが非常に印象的でした。全体的に価格相応という印象を受けました。いまは既に修理されているかもしれませんが、宿泊期間中エレベーターが1基故障しており、小さなエレベーター1基のみ運用されている状態でした。そのため非常に混雑しており、10階以上の客室から階段で1階まで降りる時もありました。機械の故障は致し方ないことと思いますが、こういう体験をしてしまうと、どうしても印象が悪くなってしまいます。

サダンに初めて泊まりました。地下鉄の駅から近く、バス停も近く、とても賑わっていました。

ドアの閉め方に少し戸惑ったりテレビの付け方に戸惑ったりしましたが、お部屋は綺麗で浴槽もあったので、しっかりお風呂に浸かりました。
床暖房で十分暖かかったです。

暖房はオフにできませんでした。
22度に設定して閉めきって使っていたら夜中に暑さで起きたので暖房つけた状態でベランダの窓開けて寝てました。
その点以外は
トイレも流せますしソウルにもカンナムにも地下鉄1本で行ける便利な立地で大変満足です。

아침식사는 종류는 적었지만 깨끗하고 그럭저럭 괜찮았어요.
그런데 숙소가... 곰팡이 냄새가 너무 심했어요.
지하라서 감안하고 간거지만
엘베 앞 공청기도 필터가 이미 0프로 교체도 안됐고.
숙소 안에 들어가자마자 맡아지는 곰팡이 냄새에 잠을 거의 못잤어요. 숨막히도록 힘들었어요.
괜찮다는 리뷰 보고 갔었는데 ㅠ ㅠ 저희 숙소만 그런건지 뽑기를 잘못한건지.. 테이블은 정말 낡아서 페인트가 많이 벗겨져있고
벽은 의자에 긁혀서 검음색 자국에
에어컨에 곰팡이 가득합니다.
창문이 없으니 어쩔수 없이 에어컨을 틀었는데.. 정말 가족 생각하면 안가시는게... 제가 예약했지만 가족들에게 너무 미안하네요.

外部ドアと内部ドアがあるため、館内通路の騒音が殆ど室内に入ってこない。また、周辺道路からの騒音もあまり届かず、静かな環境で就寝できる。朝食は予約でW10,000のようだが、毎日食事内容に変化がないのは残念且つ、質的にも若干費用対効果に欠けそう。フロント従業員の質は高いので、安心して宿泊できる。地下鉄駅出口から50～60ｍなので近くて便利。
