Super Cute room! Bed comfortable. Clean. Full fridge and stove- stocked with glasses, bowls- literally anything you would need. Staff friendly. Wow. I never leave reviews, but I was wowed. One minute walk to Petco Park. Fantastic.

Stayed at Sentral Gaslamp Quarter recently and overall had a really good experience. The location is excellent — walking distance to restaurants, nightlife, and everything downtown San Diego has to offer. The rooms were modern, clean, and spacious, with a refrigerator and kitchenette with a stove. The staff was friendly and accommodating throughout the stay.

The property is currently transitioning into a Hilton hotel, so there were a few things that felt a little in-between operationally, but nothing major enough to ruin the trip. My biggest downside was the parking situation — valet was basically the only option .

Aside from the expensive parking, the stay itself was comfortable and enjoyable. I’d still recommend it for the location and overall vibe, especially once the Hilton transition is complete.

Another great thing is that they welcome cats so if you have a cat, they can stay for a fee… just make sure they don’t ruin any furniture.

My fiancé and I found this place on expedia by pure luck. Reservation was simple, check in was easy, and the room was brilliant. Location was insanely perfect. Cannot wait to stay here again. The only disappointment came from the young gentlemen working the front desk on the 3rd of April (Sunday) in the early afternoon. The issue I had was not that he could not extend our checkout time to 1230pm, he was very adamant that we check out by 12pm on our check out date, and that was ok, not the end of the world. What did upset me was that he was allowing his friend and her boyfriend have free valet parking while the cluple went to game. He was ever so considerate for is friends to park there car at the property and to tell the valet crew to not charge this couple. Not very professional or classy. Please,in the future. Ask your staff if they are gonna do side husltes at work then at least do it privately and not in the main lobby where your paying clients can be in ear shot of these activities.

Sentral Gaslamp is a great product let down by poor execution. It’s quiet, it’s safe, it’s quick and simple to get to your room. The early check in process was lovely and the quality of the room was very nice. The shower was great as was the bed quality and the pillows, the view. All of it was perfect as a room. But what I didnt like was that the WiFi and the TVs were out for almost the full time I was there. The washing machine had an error code almost the full time. Sometimes the water would sputter in the shower and the sink. They worked with me when I pushed them in that I was beginning to regret my stay, I got my housekeeping done early and they fixed the issues I mentioned. But it took work to get there and for
the price this hotel costs per night, the expensive valet parking and just being in expensive downtown overall, it shouldn’t have been so much work. Ultimately Sentral felt like booking a super nice furnished apartment that you have to negotiate with your landlord. The fundamentals are sound, but it wasn’t so easy once one day turned into the next. That said they did fix all the issues and they were very kind to me. The service was good.

I had a really nice stay overall. The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the location is amazing, especially if you’re planning to visit Petco Park since it’s within walking distance. It’s also a great spot if you enjoy walking around the city and experiencing the nightlife.

The only downside was parking, which can be a bit inconvenient, but they do offer valet service, which helps. We also had a small issue with the TV’s internet connection, but it was resolved quickly with just one phone call.

Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable stay in a lively, walkable area.

The team members were all exceptional in their attentive service.
It was a different experience from traditional hotels, think Extended Stay, but far nicer.
I'd definitely recommend if you're looking for a longer term stay or if you prefer having meals in rather than going out.
The location is close enough to Petco and the Gaslamp District to be convenient, but far enough away to not be bothered by noise.

They do not offer cable TV. If you stream movies at home, such as Network or Prime, you can access through ROKU, but their ROKU was down. Finally able to access live TV. Kerugh coffee maker did not work. You had to ask for housekeeping, otherwise they don’t clean your room. The staff was very helpful and nice, I felt sorry for them.

We booked a room at the Sentral Hotel in the Gaslamp area of San Diego for three adults and a child. When we arrived, we were directed by reception to use a keyboard on the front desk to type our name, phone number, email address, etc. Then, we were directed to put our drivers license on a stand and take a photo of it, then confirm that it was legible. Then we were told to swipe our credit card and gave necessary approvals on the keyboard. Finally, we were told that our room number and access code would be texted to us within five minutes. So, we stood around in the lobby until that happened. Apparently the days are gone of a friendly reception person taking our ID and credit card to do that same work -- and then handing it back with the room key card in less than a minute.
Irritated that we were required to perform that lengthy check-in process after a long drive, we discovered that our bland room had only a queen bed. The Hotels.com reservation clearly said it was for three adults and a child. We returned to the front desk, where we were told that there were no rooms in the hotel available to accommodate us -- and no rollaways to provide. And, they said, we would need to contact Hotels.com ourselves to arrange for a refund. (Thankfully, Hotels.com promptly refunded the over-priced charge for the room.) Very unpleasant experience. Fortunately, we found another wonderful hotel room nearby for a similar price.

The apartment style room was a nice touch for my trip. When I arrived, the check in took a bit longer than I would have liked. It's not streamlined and then you need to wait for the person at the front to check your ID and then after everything you need to wait for the code and room number to be text to you. It was fine, just took a bit and I was on a time crunch. Once I got into my room, I went to lock my laptop up in the safe for the evening. The safe didn't work. I took a closer look and could see the battery door was off the battery compartment. I took it off completely and took a look at the batteries, and noticed they were all in backwards - so clearly that was why it didn't work. So I replaced them the correct way and it worked. Then that evening I pulled out the steamer to get my clothes ready for the next day, and the steamer didn't work. I tried to call down, but the number listed online for the property doesn't work. So I text back to the text received about my room number, and after about 20 minutes somebody brought up an iron. After they left, I realized I had no ironing board - so I just had to work with what I had. So nothing terrible, the property was decent and would stay there again - but definitely a few frustrations.

Received a message prior to check-in to do a pre-check in but the link would not work. Called the location and said it wasn't necessary. There was always someone at desk and so helpful with the check in process. So smooth. All staff even to the valets were friendly and helpful.
Great location when attending a Padres game. The area around has people heading to the game and short (safe) walk to the Gaslamp district for drinks and dinner.

The room was very clean, the A/C worked fine - the shower pressure was perfect. Ray - the manager was very helpful getting my cell phone back for me after I left it in my Uber. Ray contacted Uber and got my phone returned to me within 2 hours. Amazing location in the Gaslamp section of San Diego.

The hotel offered me a room with nicer view and I asked for the same room instead, simply cause my memory was so good. It is constantly good this time: clean, quiet, friendly, and having all kitchen tools, within walking distances to many restaurants and super convenient to conference center. I come out to San Diego on business pretty often and this is the only place I’ll stay at. So easy and convenient. Staffing is amazing. Valet is great and they’re so nice too! All deliveries can be delivered to your door too and don’t have to go and pick up at lobby. This is the apartment with a view of downtown that you’ve always wanted. Trust me. You won’t regret it.

The hotel is right near the stadium (which was very cool!). The staff was very friendly, and the room was very comfortable. I would have given 5 stars but there were a few small things that were a little frustrating (but not a deal breaker) - our bathroom fan went on randomly throughout the day and night, the time on the microwave was very bright and kept me up at night (I know I am probably a weirdo and it won't bother many people), and the last two days we had very loud neighbors (constantly walking around at all hours of the night and staying on the balcony talking and laughing very loudly at 4am). Other than that, the bed was really comfortable, and having the washer/dryer was a game-changer. We would stay again!

Overall, the stay was fine and the location was good with a Starbucks and grocery (old fashioned term) store right down the street. The code used for all the doors was kind of a pain because it was six digits that at certain times you have to use at the front door, on the elevator, and at your room. The rooms, while modern and clean, were lacking in some areas. The night stands were tiny, very little place to put your clothes if you unpack, and one towel bar and small vanity in the bathroom. The street noise with traffic, emergency vehicles, garbage trucks at early morning hours certainly didn't help with undisturbed sleep. It was good enough for our long weekend, but next time, we'll try something else.

clean rooms - staff was ?? - don't care for the check in at all - it is informal and customer service is totally missed during this non-interaction ie: wifi information, gym access, terrace upstairs, etc (all missed and not communicated) no stations on tv... just streaming? need more towels - beds are too soft - no balcony - no ironing board - needed more hangers - rooms are very noisy to outside noise, and lights under upstairs balcony keep me awake.

-Having the kitchen was awesome for breakfast etc, well stocked

Cons:
-Washer/Dryer (It's a combo machine) was SO loud, tiny and took 3+ hours just for clothes to be damp still. Smelled awful on arrival.
-The process for getting housekeeping was odd. It seemed restrictive - we got asked how long we were staying when we requested it.
-Suggestion: add mixing bowl to the kitchen supplies.

This is really an extended stay hotel. It’s very modern and beautiful but there were some issues. First of all, while the floor to ceiling windows were lovely, they offered no privacy unless you closed the shades all the time. It’s surrounded by apartment buildings and from the street, you could easily see into the 3rd floor.

In terms of cleanliness, there were several things that were disappointing. The shower curtain was moldy. The sink in the bathroom made a bubbling sound like a cauldron and I found an open safety-pin on the floor as well as someone’s clump of hair on the back of the sofa.

The WiFi was terrible, dropping several zoom calls. Even on the TV I couldn’t get a consistent signal for my streaming service and was constantly having to restart, disconnect or just use my cellular data on my iPad.

The staff were very nice but ultimately unhelpful. I wanted to fully pay for my room prior to my stay and I was sent a link to pay and it said, PAID. But somehow it wasn’t paid at that time and caused a lot of issues.

Even with all that, I would stay here again but I expected more from a hotel that was as highly rated by other guests. The location is amazing if you want to do anything by the convention center or even in Coronado.

A great hotel, my only gripes are that the wifi was not great. It was constantly in and out which was frustrating. I couldn’t even get through a 45 minute episode without it having issues and needing to reload. Also, there was a knocking/clicking in the room that we could not figure out where it was coming from. It was annoying and inconsistent. Otherwise, location is great and the property itself is nice.

We had an OUTSTANDING stay at the Sentral. EVERY employee was EXTRA friendly. The bed was AMAZING! The location was PERFECT. Stayed at Sentral Gaslamp Quarter and had an amazing experience. The location is unbeatable — right in the heart of downtown and walking distance to everything in the Gaslamp. The building feels modern, secure, and very well maintained. The apartment-style room was spacious, clean, and had everything I needed, especially the full kitchen which made the stay super convenient.

Staff was professional and helpful, and the check-in process was smooth. The amenities were a huge plus — especially the rooftop area with great city views. It felt more private and comfortable than a typical hotel.

Perfect spot if you want to be close to restaurants, nightlife, and Petco Park while still having a quiet, comfortable place to relax. I’d definitely stay here again.
