Was told for \"optics sake\" I couldn't take a luggage cart myself to unload my things and instead directed to wait in the motor lobby that was double parked out to the corner. After I wheeled everything up myself without a luggage cart I saw the same cars that had been waiting when I arrived thirty minutes prior. By the way, they charge $70/night for valet.. I self-parked in the garage across the street for $12.

Once we did get in the hotel there was no toiletries in the bathroom and we had to wait over an hour before they were brought to us (even though I walked to lobby to get them myself).

The room was gross... it was just not a good experience. San Diego is a beautiful and awesome city... stay somewhere else!!

I've stayed here twice so far, and both experiences have been wonderful. The rooms were very clean, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the location is perfect. I was even able to walk to Petco Park! I would definitely stay here again.

We came in for one night only for a Dodger game. The convenience of how close the hotel is to the park is amazing!! The view from the 12th floor of literally all of San Diego is incredible. Will definitely stay again!!

Rooms were not well cleaned. The first room given to us had us immediately scratching and we got bites all over. They moved us to a different room which smelled like it had been cleaned unlike the previous one, but still had amenities like hand soap missing, and the AC did not work. The staff were apologetic and accommodating but it really sucks because the hotel has potential. Not to mention the smell of marijuana and cigarette smoke smelled throughout the property. Especially on the upper floors.

Didn’t wanna give us our room because we got it for cheap a cheap price 6 months pior. They canceled our reservation for us. We talked to a manager was very unhelpful. Did not want to work with us. NEVER GOING BACK!!

This hotel exceeded my expectations. The room was clean and well sized. The bathroom was large with ample storage. I appreciated the hooks on the wall where I was able to hang my formal attire while dressing. The little details like the guitar pick stickers on the TP and the guitars on the pillows were unexpected, delightful details.
The 4th floor pool deck area, bar and surrounding lounge area was a sunny location to relax out of the room. The staff was nice. I enjoyed my stay and I plan to stay there again on my next visit.

Unfortunately the guy that checked us in was very unfriendly and short., not very helpful either.I watched him be very polite and nice to the lady before me. Then when it was my turn to see him he was very short and didn’t even attempt to make eye contact. It made me feel some type of way. I don’t want to say it’s because I’m Hispanic but it felt that way! :( the lady he was so friendly and helpful to was Caucasian.

This hotel is worn out. Leaking faucets, broken curtains, wallpaper coming loose in numerous places, furniture broken, tv and remotes had issues, our room was not ready and when we finally got to the room,
they never brought our luggage up. They won’t let you use carts you must tip.
$70 parking, truck came back with black soot all over it and no one knew anything.
Picked this place for the pool and they opened up the pool Saturday to the drunken public. Pool over occupancy, loud beat music we could not use the pool for 6 hrs.
Balcony room made for good people watching.

Just a hop,skip and jump away from Petco Park and Gaslamp District. Very nice hotel,valet parking staff was nice and helpful. Only reason I rated the way I did was because I asked the gal at front desk if someone could go to our room and try to fix out TV since it was NOT working at all. Husband and I were trying to watch the World Cup games before heading to the concert. We also never received our drink vouchers that were part of the package when the room was initially booked.Bar/Restaurant were nice and clean.

The Gas Lamp area is fantastic and the hotel is close by so many great restaurants and attractions. The light rail is right across the street which is a great option for inner city connections.

We came for a concert at Padre Stadium and the location was so fantastic. We could walk to so many great destinations. The staff were friendly, helpful and available. TV did not work, so we were unable to watch TV during our stay.. which made it kind of boring. AC wasn’t cooling the room so it was very humid. Shower drain was clogged so water wouldn’t drain quick, as you were showering you had a big puddle on your feet.

The first day they have an event in the area of the pool, a private event. And even they offer you to go to a pool of the nearest hotel, I don’t think is the best way to all the guests. The next day the pool was dirty with hairs and like a black dust. I think this hotel is overhyped.

What an incredible property Hard Rock has! 🤘 It is outstanding in terms of location, comfort, food, and above all, impeccable service. I would like to give special recognition to Nuvia, who not only treated us exceptionally well but also found a solution to the issue with the TV in our room. She provided the highest level of service, and her effort and dedication are a tremendous asset to this hotel. Having someone who doesn't just worry about a problem but actually solves it makes all the difference. Thank you so much for everything and for making my stay far better than I ever expected.

The front desk area smelled amazing and the staff were very professional! The view from level 8 was cool - we looked toward the back of the stadium. The pool and jacuzzi were most enjoyed by me and my husband; going early in the morning helped us avoid too much foot traffic. The only suggestion I would ever have for Hard Rock hotel is to make the beds a bit less firmer. However, the location is absolutely amazing. Thank you for such a good experience!!

The hotel is well located to the convention center in the Gaslamp District. The staff that I encountered was friendly.

The amenities are tired. Millwork and furniture in the room was quite beat up. The room we had was touted as family friendly but ultimately a split toilet room shower room with frosted glass doors and panels is not for the fam…

Confusion among the staff existed around the pool and pool bar open/available times. And know that noon to 6 on Saturday’s you can’t have anyone under 21 at the pool area.

This hotel is amazing! My room was nice and clean with a spectacular view from the 10th Floor. The decor was modern and contemporary. I also had an outdoor balcony. I had dinner one night at Nobu. Fabulous restaurant!

Everything was good until we received our car back from the valet with multiple dents and scratches on the side door. I placed a claim and we’ll see what happens. The valet staff was very nice and apologetic about it, even at a busy time. Still super big bummer of inconvenience and potential expense

We have stayed at Hard Rock a few time but this time was by far the worst. No water pressure, ac barely worked, poor quality blackout curtains, sink didn't drain, pool hours close at 9pm and do not start until 7pm on Saturday. The restaurant food at Mary Janes was very low quality, the patty melt burger was a slider size patty on a patty size bun. Staff was not very friendly or helpful. I hope they make some improvements. It is outdated and needs an update if they want to continue to charge high end prices. There are many hotels in the area that are far better quality for the price. We stayed there because we were attending a show at Petco and it is close to walk but I recommend stayinh at the Hilton or the Marriot instead for the price.

Nice location if you want to be by the ballpark and go to the gas lamp district. The hotel seems like rock stars partied in it and it’s showing its age. I wish I chose the Omni.

We did a sister’s weekend at the hard rock and it made our vacation. We did end up getting a suite which we love the extra room in the balcony that came with it. We love the free bikes in the pool parties that came along with our hotel, an amazing experience, top-of-the-line location was amazing for everything in San Diego.

The Hard Rock Hotel SD is in the heart of the Gaslamp neighborhood, making it an ideal location for exploring the area. It’s very walkable, and the hotel itself has a Nobu restaurant, as well as several other restaurants and bars. I highly recommend it! They have fantastic pool parties on the roof and there’s something to do for everyone. We stayed in a suite and it was spacious and clean. The view of the city was beautiful.

Location will always be prime if you are looking to stay in gas lamp. However the room felt awfully rundown , especially after being used to their basic studio.. the upgrade to their suite felt like a downgrade. The tv in the living room had dead pixels which I didn’t discover until trying to have a nightcap. The door to the balcony felt ready to break at any moment. Shower had paint peeling and what appeared to be mold. Mirrors in the living room were crusty. I’ve stayed at the hard rock a few times and never had any complaints until now so this was quite disappointing. Bars / restaurants / staff all still great.
