The airport shuttle was awful, since despite it being a reason I stayed there, my early flight required me to be picked up for the airport at 3 am, and the shuttle doesn't start until 6 am!!! And the promised front desk wake-up call scheduled at 2:15 am never happened; good thing I set my own alarm. My \"free shuttle\" turned out to cost me $35 for a cab.

The room was average, housekeeping did an OK job of cleaning, and the downtown neighborhood got very sketchy within blocks. It was near the harbor, which was good, and I did get a voucher to tour the USS Midway WWII aircraft carrier.

Overall, fair to average. My experience with Marriott this year has been poor; this is the third time I've had problems with a Marriott-owned hotel: (1) on Orange Beach on the Alabama gulf coast where I was in a wedding; an on-line reservation to stay in a Panama City, Panama hotel only to have it not go through on-line; and now this mediocre experience.

Hyatt and Hilton, here I come!

This property was beautiful. It was well maintained had spacious, clean, comforting room. It was centrally located to food a quick walk to the port. The only thing that bothered me about the property was when I checked out, I was charged an extra convenience fee that covered the use of bike rentals, etc., of about $40 that I didn’t know anything about prior to booking at booking but otherwise it was a really nice property.

We arrived a bit late due to our flight being cancelled. Once checked in, which went fine, we arrived in our room to find that we were in an accessible room. We went to the front desk to inquire as to why we were in an accessible room and were told that is what we booked and that they were unable to move us because the hotel was “fully committed”. We spent the next three nights using a bathroom that was not conducive to our needs. Taking showers was a horrible experience. Moreover, the room was not up to Westin standards and we paid a lot of money for a sub-standard room. The coasters for the glasses in the bathroom looked like they have not been changed since 1972. The duvet covers had to be removed because they were dirty, and the partial bay view may of been good if the windows weren’t so filthy. We were on holidays and paid extra for a nice room at the Westin. We were disappointed.

Room was excellent, though I was surprised that it did not include a vanity set. I had forgotten my cotton pads to remove my make up, and had to call reception to obtain some...why not have it available?
One thing that was not great, wa the customer service. It was not busy at all at check in, however, they handed us the key to our room and that was about it. They never mentioned anything about the bikes, or the ticket to Midway, or if there was breakfast available. It might as well be an automated check in. What is the point of having someone at the front? This aspect was highly disappointing.

Small and awkward. Only one nightstand and the bathroom was terrible tub combo with shower curtain. The refresh of the rooms is nice but still had a drain moldy musty Oder. It’s an old building but it’s like putting lipstick on pig.

Although, I had a few issues with my room to include non clean facilities and ceiling leaks, causing me to switch rooms twice. The customer service was excellent, which is why I would return. I also enjoyed the free social hour and shuttle to/from airport.

We booked a higher-floor bay-view room for New Year’s Eve, planning to enjoy the fireworks and welcome the New Year with a beautiful view. At check-in, we were told the room had plumbing issues and were downgraded to a lower-floor room facing an adjacent building. The concierge promised to waive the hotel and tourism fees to make up for it.
At checkout, we were told that promise couldn’t be honored because the concierge wasn’t there and no one else had the authority to remove the fees. Not only were we misled, but our New Year’s Eve plans were completely ruined. Extremely disappointed with Westin’s handling of this situation.

Everything was good until we checked in and discovered we had gotten the wrong room. I had reserved 2 queen beds and they gave me a king size. Then, we discovered there was a leak in our new room and maintenance had to get there really late and there was so much noise with them upstairs trying to take care of the leak. I told the lady at the front desk but she said there was nothing they could do and charged me regular rate. Such a nuisance.

The hotel was in an excellent location just a short 2 block walk to the Santa Fe train, trolley. The room was nice with a view of the bay. We upgraded to include breakfast which was good but no variety after 4 days. The oatmeal was cold and no way to toast any bread. The staff was very friendly and helpful when needed. As a bonus there is a free shuttle to and from the airport which was very nice.

We started off requesting the hotel shuttle when we landed, but we waited 50 minutes and frustrated, ending up taking a local bus at the airport which got us to the hotel in 10 minutes. Do not use the shuttle service.

The room was very clean and spacious, check in was smooth and the lady was very kind. In the morning at check out, we waited about 10 minutes with nobody at the reception and no bell or anything to call someone. We were able to check out, but had to run to the next stop with our luggage to catch the bus we planned to take which only came every 30 minutes.

Overall, good room and experience other than the shuttle and slight delays in desk service.

Great location in downtown San Diego. Completely walkable location. New looking hotel. My only complaint was check-in. Supposedly at 3pm. We arrived at 3:05 and was told our room wasn't ready, yet, and it would be a few minutes. After 45 minutes I asked about the room and was told it still wasn't ready. The one sided phone conversation sounded like housekeeping hadn't even started on the room. After I suggested they hadn't started yet because we booked through Expedia, they miraculously found the same room available one floor below our assigned room.

Decent room for the price. Pros: very comfortable beds, great view of the city, rainfall showerhead. Cons: doors don't have dampers so they slam easily, A/C was not fully operational, bathroom had no ventilation and bathroom door could not prop open easily.

Room is okay. Subpar for a 4 star restaurants. The bay view is too far and other three buildings are partially blocking the view, not exciting. The building and layout looks outdated inside. With similar price, Manchester Grand Hyatt would be a much better choice.

The newly renovated room was designed nice. They clean it everyday. The staff is friendly but strictly business no chit chat about why your there. They don’t go over the resort fee and what it includes at all. The restaurant in the hotel I can only say is not good since we went and got no service at all so left.
