Amazing stay at the Wyndham Bayside in San Diego. The location couldn’t be better — right on the waterfront and an easy walk to Little Italy, which was perfect for drinks and exploring. We were in town for CRSSD and it was incredibly convenient being so close to the festival.

The room was clean, comfortable, and had a great view. The staff were friendly and everything about the stay felt easy and relaxed. If you’re coming to San Diego for CRSSD or just want a great central location, this hotel is a fantastic choice.

Room was dirty and AC was broken. They gave us a new room after we spoke with them. Then we went to open the door to the new room and heard people talking as I grabbed the door handle, two men walked out. I complained to the manager and he started arguing with me. This place has really gone down the toilet. Will NOT be staying there again.

We had a great experience at this hotel, We loved the ocean view, great location near Little Itali, downtown. Our bed was very comfortable, hot water and they provide, shampoo, conditioner, body wash. Easy check in and check out. We definitely will stay here on our next trip to SD.

I was not expecting a $30 per night resort fee that was charged for Expedia guests, but not others. The hotel was like Spirit Airlines. Extra cost for a view, we were practically on the lobby roof, no room service, towels, only if you ask.
I will not be staying there again.

We stayed 2 nights before our cruise to Mexico. Traveled with 94 yr old mother. We were picked up at airport and transported to hotel. On checkout day, my husband and I had planned to walk to the pier across Harbor Ave to board the cruise. The hotel offered to drive the 3 of us and our bags to the dock. We were never SO grateful for a ride across the street.

Room was clean and staff was very kind. The view of the bay is beautiful and this is directly across the street from our cruise. *But* Parking is not free which is the only bummer and you must book online to get the $30 per night price point or else you will have to pay a ridiculous $50-70 per night if you pay in person. Once you take care of that everything is great! There’s even a Claim Jumper on site and a Ruth’s Chris steps away. Overall 5/5 for us. Thanks

The pros for this hotel were that the bed was comfortable, had a view of the bay from my room, good water pressure in the shower, walking distance to multiple restaurants and bars and across the street from a nice running path along the water. Cons were that it’s pretty outdated - hallways and lobbies/common areas had peeling paint; room had old carpeting and lights out in the bathroom and lumpy pillows. It’s also fairly loud - could hear cars on the street (from 6th floor), planes taking off and landing, and people moving around in rooms next to and above me

Only good thing to say about this hotel is friendly staff and it’s conveniently located to the San Diego cruise terminal.

We checked in, headed up to the room, balcony door was wide open, pillows on the chair beside the bed without pillow cases, bathroom full of soap residue and hair from previous guests.

We called downstairs to have them address the state of our room, they sent a friendly worker up with pillow cases, she kindly put them on and left. We didn’t hear anything else the rest of our short stay.

If you can, avoid the property, but if you must, at least the team is nice and it’s conveniently located.

Check in was terrible, hotel held our luggage after arriving by cruise ship in the morning until check in at 4pm. We arrived back at hotel around 2:45pm and I stood in line at front desk for 1/2 hour clerk stated at 3:15 check in not till 4pm room not released yet. Sat down for a bit now line is getting longer at front desk this was at 3:45 was in line again. Stood in line for a little over an hour before seeing front desk clerk & even then took 10 minutes before gettin the room. The line behind me was now was going to the front door. Originally there was 2 people there & one left, why hotel was not prepared for this when a cruise ship comes in is beyond me.

Overall I enjoyed my stay. We had the Double Double Deluxe room on the 3rd floor of Tower I. I was a little disappointed because the room suggested that I had a balcony to sit on and enjoy somewhat of a view. Unfortunately the tiny balcony was barely enough room to stand on and view the roof and balconies of visitors across from us. This was unacceptable because I was hoping my mother would have a nice sitting area outside when I was out with my friends if she didn’t want to leave the room. We also did not have any means to warm up food after having it sit in the mini fridge. There was no microwave. The blankets were very thin, but the weather was beautiful so that may not be an issue for most. It’s a personal desire for me to have slightly heavier bedding.

Besides that it was an enjoyable stay. The rooms were very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I used the gym and wanted to use the pool but I ran out of time due to my short stay. I would stay there again in an upgraded room, which they did offer for a slightly higher price.

We booked the room mostly because we were leaving the next morning on a cruise through the Panama Canal and the Holland America docks right across the street. It’s in a noisy nightclub district and very close to the airport. Until they but better noise reduction windows in…bring earplugs. It’s not a $345 hotel in any way except the address near the airport and cruise line dock

Long check in with only one staff at desk. Room was just okay. Rooms need an update; carpet, sitting chair, mirror in bathroom. Had lots of rain which soaked the carpeting at the sliding door to patio deck. Have allergies to mold and could feel it due to wet carpeting. Wish there had been a microwave in room. First hotel we stayed at that did not have one. Had neighbors who smoked pot on their deck and it permeated into our room although our sliding door was closed. We knew the minute they were out there! The bed was very comfortable and the shower head comforting. The maids were very good attending to our room. Concierge very helpful. Loved we could walk everywhere. Enjoyed the wine social on Friday. A plus for being shuttled back and forth to the airport. Ate a lot at Claim Jumpers due to lots of rain and enjoyed the food. All in all, it was a good stay. Thank you.

The room was good but not excellent. The most surprising thing was that the clothes closet was in the bathroom! Not a convenient place for access easily to your cloths. The bathroom didn’t include any stuff like hair cap, spa stuff, comp, etc. the shower was not splashing well. The staff at the front desk were not much friendly. And the most important thing that this hotel has a hidden fee that they surprise you when you want to check out. For 6 nights stay I paid $220 USD destination fee !!! Unfortunately I didn’t check this matter during my reservation, it’s a lesson learnt for my future trips.

Not only was my room dated I started my day cleaning the shower myself so it was done to a basic standard there was build up and other peoples hair in it. I was there five days and I was absolutely blindsided with over $400 bill of parking when I was not told it would be $50 a day and then an additional $30 fee and another 4 fees. Waiting for them to make that right. Would not stay here unless you have too.

The hotel stay was fine. I thought the hotel staff was a bit unfriendly at check-in. We were informed that our room was not ready and that we had been moved to a separate tower due to lack of heat in main tower. When we got to the room, it had a wonderful view but the decor and conditions were dated and the curtain ripped and yellowed. The whole hotel needs to be refreshed. That said, the location was great, later staff interactions were positive and it was fine.

Room was ok. Door to the balcony was a bit hinky. One of the drawers swung open by itself once there were clothes in it and I had to wedge it shut with a bit of paper. Something had dropped down the back of a drawer on the bedside table too, so it didn't close properly. Just minor details, but should be very easy to fix.

Biggest issue was the accounts. Had $250 taken as a deposit on check in. This was increased to $286.65 without my being notified to cover meal charges and taxes. An additional $86.65 was also manually charged to my card on the day before I checked out too, allegedly to cover the same thing.

I queried the additional charge on check out and had to query it again after I returned home. In the end, it took a full week for it to be cancelled and the funds returned to my account.

So check your bill at the end of your stay!

The checkin was abysmally slow. Only one person at the desk. First I stood in line for a half hour and arrived at checkin time. My room was not ready. I was told they’d text when ready. Nothing for 1 1/2 hours. I texted for an update as the checkin line was extremely long. A half hour later I was texted my room was ready. The line was even longer for people checking in. I was finally in my room 2 hours after checkin. Other than that a pretty good stay but the checkin still lingers as a horrible experience.

The hotel staff was very friendly. However, the quality of the hotel was very poor and neglected. The carpet in the hallways was wavey and dirty, the elevators were sketchy, and the rooms (although seemed cleaned) were very dated and worn out. The staff at the hotel restaurant Claim Jumper was far from nice. We sat ourselves and after 15 mins of waiting had to get a server to take our order. Once we placed our drink and food order we did not see the server to our food and drinks for another 40 mins. At which we point we notified them to cancel the order and we left the establishment.

I am sure they can charge what they charge for the hotel rate based on their location, but they should seriously consider putting some capital into the facility OR at the very least updating their website pictures to reflect modern day reality of the conditions. We will NOT being staying at a Wyndham property in the future.

The room was very nice. Spacious and clean. Nice bathroom too, but shower pressure was very low, is this a California thing? Staff was professional and courteous. The shuttle from the airport was easy and very convenient.
The annoyance was the lines, 40 minutes to check in. At check out we wanted to store our bags and explore the bay front, but there was another to do that so we just left.

The front desk staff was warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. I think her name was Angel or Angela. I would poach her in a heartbeat. I got an early check in. The rooms are a bit worn but absolutely spotless. Props to housekeeping!
