Very beautiful boutique hotel in the center of town right next to the harbor. Really good breakfast in the beautiful dining room. We easily got to each part of town from the hotel and we were surrounded by restaurants. Really good location. The staff were all very nice and helpful

No information prior to arriving, upon arrival we found dirty rooms, dirty towels, dirty bath mats, stains galore on furniture, on carpets in rooms, dirty and stained carpets in halls. The sofa bed with a rip in the fabric, very old mattresses which creaked and groaned every time you moved. The view out of the windows was of the building next door which was solid concrete, that was after the extremely dirty windows with bird poo all over them. The loft suites were a joke and not worth the money we paid nor worth any more than £100 a night. I’ve personally stayed in much better hotels that cost considerably less. Reception staff were not empathetic to our situation and when we complained about these things we were insulted by the offer of lower quality room and refund the difference and £30. I wish I had taken what everyone else had said on the reviews and never stayed here. Believe all the bad reviews old cheap furniture, toilet paper that was wafer thin. We were made to feel like cattle, this hotel is there for one reason and one reason alone is to make a much money as humanly possible all the fittings, furnishings and consumables were cheap and rubbish, the perfect example of this was the shower, it was a small plastic shower head with no pressure and made of poor quality, this is the type of shower head you get in the cheapest of budget hotels I’ve had better showers in hostels. Took the refund after one night of a four night stay and stayed somewhere else which was great!

The breakfast is exceptional, with everything one would expect in regard to choice. The room where you eat was formally a stock market snd is large , with wonderfully painted walls and it is ideally to the UNESCO designated area.

Absolutely loved this hotel and ended up here by chance. The interior design is lovely, hotel is clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is outstanding, and I personally love the squishy down pillows and comforters. I like to workout and the gym is small but sufficient to get in some cardio and weights. The drinks at the hotel bar were fantastic and so is the restaurant. You’ll be right in the heart of downtown Bergen which was so great for walking around the city. I stayed in the smallest room choice (which was indeed small), however I was here alone and didn’t mind it. After all, I’m not here to sit inside my room. Highly, highly recommend this place if you can’t decide on a hotel. I doubt you’ll be disappointed.

Overpriced and overrated. Great location and lovely breakfast in a beautiful room however staff were not friendly or accommodating and room was nothing special. I was initially given a room that hadn’t been cleaned and was unmade from previous guests! Then a room key that didn’t work. I was then told because of the inconvenience I could upgrade…. If I paid for it!!! Save yourself the disappointment and book to stay elsewhere.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of city center. If you’ve packed heavy (our trip was 30 days and included a stay in the artic so we had several large, heavy bags) beware there are steps going in. One suite option (the best one), required additional steps as well, so we settled on the remaining Jr Suite. Very, very dark (windows only halfway up) and lighting is so very poor. Spacious rooms (suite included living room and separate bedroom). Very uncomfortable chaise & chair; inadequate storage for longer stays. On the plus side, roomy bathroom, bed comfortable enough. Make sure your electronics are dual voltage. Breakfast buffet is wonderful, gorgeous restaurant.

Let’s start with the down side. You have to drag your luggage up a few steps to get into the hotel. But who cares? This is a very nice hotel in an excellent location near everything you want to see and do. The breakfast is terrific with a huge selection. But what really made our stay is the service we received. Warm and friendly, every staff member made us feel welcome. I highly recommend staying at this property whenever you’re in Bergen.

We had no place to hang up the the towels. Also it would be nice if there is a way to make counter space in the bathroom . It would help the ladies that need a place to put their make up. There wasnt any counter space in the bathroom.

Service is good but if you need flexibility or understanding they’re poor. My daughter fell ill, and despite only having booked a two night stay with them the night before we were meant to arrive, and having stayed one day with them, they refused to refund the second night in this ‘exceptional’ case.
With holidays like Norway, where you need flexibility and understanding, Bergen Bors will not provide you with it - very disappointed with management as the front of house staff were actually very nice and said they would escalate. It’s a shame the hotel felt the need to refuse a £110 refund as I definitely won’t be returning again, and will advise friends that travel not to as well.

The Bergen Bors is a gorgeous hotel in a fabulous historical building. The dining room is really beautiful and the staff very nice.
My complaint was s with the rooms. Although I had a very large room, I think for the price they charge it definitely needs updating. Stained carpet in an almost $300 per night room is a total turn off. I would recommend you invest in new flooring preferably that is not carpeted !!

Possibly the best breakfast buffet I’ve ever had. The space breakfast hall is the former stock exchange of Norway and is quite a lovely spot.
Room was clean, with all we needed, and the hotel staff were always friendly and helpful. The location is within walking distance of all the big sights of Bergen. Would wholeheartedly recommend it!

Its "minimalist" philosophy is ridiculous. There are a couple of shelves for storage but no drawers.There are no night stands. The phone was on a "shelf" about 8 inches off the floor next to the bed. You had to get on your knees to use it. There is no air conditioning. The weather was very warm and the room was uncomfortably hot.

The hotel is beautiful from the outside but unfortunately the rooms were very disappointing very basic and the toilets felt like in a hospital.. service is very slow there was only one person in reception that serves the whole hotel at night and she was not answering the phone I had to go down to her and ask for help.. the only positive thing about the hotel is its location and the beautiful interior of the restaurant

Brilliant staff, great breakfasts, fab location, so much to like BUT we had a loft suite and be warned it had absolutely no view, just two large air conditioning units. Worth checking before you book. Room was a little dated, table with four chairs but no sofa. Odd. Shower brilliant, great bed, might make sense to flag up lack of a view.
