The hosts were lovely, and the check-in was fast. The room was clean and warm, and the bed comfortable. Sadly there was occasional noise coming from the road nearby and the trains passing by. Overall it was good.

I was on the top floor so the water pressure for the shower was poor.
Food was lovely: evening meal and hot breakfast.
Right next to the railway line so if you are a light sleeper then take some ear plugs.
Room was tired but clean.
Bed was comfy.
Small TV
Ample parking.
Would I stay again? Yes, but ask not to be on the top floor. Hopefully the shower is better on a lower floor.

Hi Expedia, First, I'm not sure how you added this property to your prestige e-commerce.

The amount I paid for one night's stay is not worth it.

The receptionists displayed terrible behaviour; they had pets and smelled all around the bar, dining, and reception area. We went to break fast at 9:05 a.m., and they said it was closed. Not even a single customer was there, but there was no courtesy to ask for coffee or any flexible, continuous breakfast. Imagine, this 2 km/3 km surrounding hotel has no local shop or convenience store to buy. I leave the place without any food or coffee (cover breakfast).

Also, she showed her face, which we could not tolerate, and complained to us, \"You guys bring outside food without asking permission from us.\" Firstly, the dining place smelled of pets, and how was she expected to eat? Secondly, there was no food or restaurant after 9pm/9:30pm. Last night, I saw many others bring pizza and other foods to their rooms and open the balcony, too, but still, she raised questions to us.

The hotel management should have declared or told us that no outside food was allowed while checking in or booking a reservation with the Expedia portal, but they surprised us by not providing food choices and by not having a food corner within 2 km of this property.

There was no proper shower water supply (I complained multiple times), and the towels had a urine-like smell. I don't know how Expedia added this property to your e-commerce.

The B&B is next to a train station the main line to Oxford the trains
Where every 20mins throughout the night the noice wasn’t good the main road was also close and from 6am it was busy with traffic. The room was okay pillows where rock hard and the shower room needed a good clean and there was yellow slime around the bottom of the shower tray have a video of required the sink was dirty .
They don’t cater for gluten free guests.

One night at the Railway Inn

This was a basic hotel with basic pub grub. Very uncomfortable pillows and I had a terrible night as my room was so noisy. It is right on the railway station, and although the trains were not such an issue with a room at the back, the main road most certainly was! I hardly had any sleep. The breakfast was measly. On the plus side, the staff were lovely and the landlady Pauline was very kind and accomodating above and beyond.

Railway memorabilia was of interest; a broken chain on the wash hand basin plug was annoying.

Really nice old school pub/Inn right next to the railway station with a long long history, not a poncey gastro pub, a proper old school pub.

Really nice staff and really good prices, food was great, locals that I met were all very nice, room was cracking.

Quite a few trains go past as you would imagine, but I didn’t find them an issue and slept fine with the window open, they get fewer and fewer the later it gets.

I will definitely be booking this one again.

This would suit anyone travelling for work, anyone wanting to discover some UK history, train buffs or spontaneous explorers.

Nice comfy bed and a decent size room. Could do with a fridge though. Breakfast was delicious, but they had no vegan options. I may stay here again, but only if the price drops. It’s too expensive for what’s on offer. I’d really like to see a fridge in the room. It makes all the difference.

It's the Railway so expect railway noise. Last dinner orders quite early so plan for that. Easy parking. Pillows bit hard for my stiff old neck. Dog friendly. Never ask for a omelette for breakfast - the NO is v stern!! 😂

Ok room- but mattress was not that comfortable. Breakfast was ok . Bathroom could do with a deep clean. Position is fab next to an old railway station . Rooms get rather noisy as the banging of some general entrance doors can be heard everywhere. Walls seem to be thin - could hear TV from next room .

Little gem tucked away near culham station parking fab near abingdon and 29 mins to Oxford car or slap next to rail connections breakfasts are fab noise from trains not really bothered us but be aware if it .. pub shuts at 10 in week as quiet would if been nice to have a later drink but room clean bed really comfy

Nice staff, food was good, bar service friendly, breakfast great value and tasty. Premises rather far out of of Abingdon if you wanted to stroll into town, but rail service right on hand if you fancy a trip in to Oxford (I had planned on the former, but wish I had considered the latter before the evening had progressed). Nice little bar and good service. Premises is dated - don't be put off, but don't expect it to be like a new Premier Inn; overall a bit expensive taking this into account, but breakfast great value.

We were made very welcome. We were even taken into town to save us getting a taxi.Our room was comfortable & clean. Breakfast was excellent & very filling. The hotel was situated in a very picturesque area next to the railway. However the trains didnt keep us awake.

Poo in the toilet. Need a say more? Thick layer of dust in the bathroom, stains all around the toilet, cobwebs, very bad, no chance it had been cleaned. If I was staying more than one night I’d have walked out. They have a 5 star food hygiene rating thankfully and it was nice home cooked food. I wouldn’t stay again though. Booked the Railway Inn as I was visiting the local area and it seemed to work as a midway point, even though a bit out of the way. No real expectations but it was a great experience, particularly the welcome from the friendly host and a delicious cooked breakfast included with the room.

There was some noise from the road and due to the heat and keeping the window open, made it a bit more challenging to sleep but the beds were comfy and the room was clean and well equipped. Had a minor power outage so showering with the phone light created a mini adventure! I'd like to have taken advantage of what looked like a well stocked bar and some more excellent food but sadly had to move on after just one night

This is a really quaint and rustic hotel literally by a train station. I really liked the setting, the room, the area, the ambience and everything. I had great sleep and you need to visit this place just for the lamb cutlets. Room was spotless, bed was comfy, and food was hearty and amazing.

For people who love jogging/walking/biking there is a cycling/walking route alongside abingdon road with plenty of blackberries which can make for a great exercise in the morning or afternoon.

As a suggestion, I do genuinely believe the food portions are massive and I would say perhaps asking guests when they check in if they going to have dinner might be helpful for guests.

This was a great stay and I will look to come back.

Room good size, clean. Service adequate. Parking not easy to find as roadside sign obscured by foliage. Must check-in before 22:00 which isn't very customer-friendly. Breakfast adequate but very limited choice (cereal and/or typical English fried food). Entire building shakes every time a train passes and main railway line to/from London is 50 ft away. Right beside a very busy road and so incessant traffic noise throughout the night means no sleep. Won't be staying here again and could not in good faith recommend it to anyone unless there was nowhere else available

As the name might suggest the Railway Inn is right next to an active railway line, I was surprised that you could actually feel certain trains (presumably freight trains) but that said I slept surprisingly well.

Great pub, rooms and locals

Very nice Pub/B+B. The Landlord and Landlady were very nice indeed and had lots of time to chat to us and the other guests.
The rooms are clean, and comfortable and functional with access to the rooms from outside the pub, which i prefer. There's also a large velux window directly above the the bed so you can fall asleep looking at the stars.
Plenty of parking with no height restrictions, so great for vans.
I would definitely without hesitation stay here again.

Well all I can say fab. With present Covid conditions they had this covered too. Evening meal had local pie option, a couple of local ales job done. Breakfast was grand to. Well worth a stay and value for money.

Basic rooms as you'd expect at this price, but clean and with everything you need. Friendly staff. The train noise was undeniably intrusive in the room I was in - I suspect it depends on which end of the building your room is. As a suggestion to the hotel, adding secondary glazing spaced in from the existing double glazed windows would make a huge difference to this.
