Business trip, room was very spacious, it is dimly lit so keep that in mind, I will rebook this when I fly in again for work, I tried many hotels and the location is superb. Room is clean but the space is ample so I like it alot. Carpet floors though for those that prefer non-carpet. The showerhead wasn't my favorite but it works so it's fine.

The first day the staff was wonderful. Very cheerful. Explained everything about the stay with a continuous smile on her face. I opted for the Valet service as the venue we were visiting was just around the corner. However, when I gave my keys to the front desk to give to the valet service they had a guitar rope keychain and a brass Snoopy keychain that I have had for 30 years. It was not on the keychain when returned and I mention it being missing. The Valet did not know what I was talking about. My mother who gave to me many years ago, has since passed and I'm rather upset it is missing.
Also it would have been nice if the hotel would have let us know about the holiday parade. It took us an hour driving around the city, hitting road block after road block trying to leave. We would have left earlier to avoid it. Crazy.

The room was VERY dark. The lighting was terrible. The TV volume would not turn up. It took hours for someone to come to the room to fix it. Once they fixed it when I came back to my room fell asleep with the tv on, woke up to turn it down and I couldn't get the volume to turn down at all. I typically sleep with the tv on to drown out the city noise but had to turn it off since the volume wouldn't go down. On another note the staff were very friendly rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable. Location is great.

Had an amazing time at the Renaissance. Came in town for my birthday weekend and they welcomed me with a beautiful note, cupcake and room upgrade. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Location is perfect walking distance to a lot of shops and restaurants. This was my first experience with this hotel and will definitely won't be the last. Thank you for making my birthday special.

Location - v good.
Room ok, but lacking drawer/ shelf space for 2 people. Very dark - lighting poor, especially for putting on make up.
Quilt was far too heavy & hot for 25-35°C temperature.
Housekeeping was rather lax in making up our room. At least 2 occasions front desk was informed. Not done until after 4pm. Another occasion not until 8 pm.
One day, insufficient staff meant a simple breakfast took an hour and a half.
East had delicious food, but some portions were too much.

Clear details on the exchange rate

I was not happy with the hotels.com advice. When I booked, they did not tell me or you did not tell me that it was in US dollars. When I reached the hotel, they would not change it or would not assist in trying to rectify the issue. Please next time inform your customers that it’s not in Canadian.m dollars, when quoting.

We really enjoyed our stay. Our room was very clean, the hair products were Kevin Murphy, Nespresso for coffee. Beds were comfortable and I loved the robes. My only two things that prevent me giving a rating of excellent were the dinning and there is no pool. Both hotel restaurants are an Asian infused theme. That was not a good fit for my youngest son. We needed up having to order delivery for him and room service for us. I was disappointed there was no pool. It said there was I believe , it was also listed on the amenities in the room. Other than those two things it was wonderful. Location was amazing, staff were wonderful, decor was very cool.

Very nice rooftop bar, staff was awesome. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. They also have another dining option on the first floor. I did not experience that one but several food options, nearby and walkable to China town and Old port15-20 min. If you are into fitness, there is a Vitamin/supplement store across the street and there’s a Nike store, Also a short distance if you need short, shoes and things of that such. 10-15 minute Uber ride can get you to most attractions for those who don’t fancy walking too much. Clean, comfortable, a touch of class without being bougie! Nice place to stay and feel safe, yet reasonably priced. If undecided on what to eat, be adventurous and ask the bar staff for recommendations they won’t steer you wrong.

1. Shower malfunction: The water temperature in the shower could not be adjusted. A staff member came to inspect and confirmed that the shower was damaged and could not be repaired promptly. As a result, we had to pack our luggage and move to Room 1102 at midnight, which was highly disruptive and negatively impacted our experience.

2. Leftover tray: Upon entering Room 706, we found a tray with leftover food from a previous guest left outside the door, blocking our way into the room. Even after returning around 9:00 PM, the tray had not been removed. We had to call the front desk to have it taken away.

3. Room maintenance issues: One of the charging outlets in Room 706 was not functioning, and the light in front of the mirror was also broken.

4. No communication from the hotel: We were also told that a supervisor would follow up with us the next day to discuss compensation. Unfortunately, we received no follow-up — neither by phone, email, nor in person — during the remainder of our stay. When we checked out on June 30, we mentioned this again to the front desk and asked why no supervisor had contacted us. The staff member at checkout said she would leave another note and that the supervisor would be in at 1:00 PM and follow up with us after that. However, we still have not received any communication. We also sent an email (see attached) to the front desk supervisor, who has not replied since.

Hello. I wanted to provide some feedback about my trip this weekend and stay at Renaissance Montreal Downtown Hotel. On June 21, 2025 while trying to nap in my hotel room, the television automatically turned on and was extremely loud at around 430pm. I confirmed that this also happened to a friend who was staying at the property, and also woke him up. I'd like to suggest that housekeeping mute the volume on the TVs so this does not happen in the future. Following this, once I fell back asleep, a staff member knocked on my door DESPITE having the Do Not Disturb sign on my door handle. This was to inform me that the hotel would not have power that night from 12am to 6am and I was provided a glow stick.

Also, the room was extremely hot because of the power outage and disrupted my sleep, and my phone did not charge overnight.

I have never had to complain in the past about staying at a Marriott property in the past, but considering the poor service on this occasion, I would appreciate some sort of compensation.

Average for this kind of hotel though good location for walking to local attractions, old port and Mount Royal. Carpets needed renewal or good clean. Air con constantly going on and off and noisy. Shower was dripping on arrival and fire alarm went off on one night of stay- a bit chaotic.

The hotel is in a nice and safe location in downtown Montreal, and very close to some of the attractions. Lots of cafes and restaurants are nearby. Check-in was quick and the staff is very professional. The corner loft room was spacious with a nice sized bathroom. My only negative feedback would be -
1. Not enough drawers in the room
2. Netflix was very slow and had a delay in loading or didn't load subtitles at all
3. The window curtains are not motorized and it is not always convenient to open/close the curtains especially behind the TV console.

The property was lovely, the restaurant was very good. But for many of the rooms (both sides of my corner suite), the only view is a brick wall barely ten feet out the window. It is dark and feels rather prison-like in that respect.

Great location if you want to shop on St Catherine and arrive via train. Perfect if you want to shop without a coat, you just have to cross the street and access thru Place Ville Marie and thru the Metro level.
The hotel also has a great restaurant serving breakfast and good food and also bar option for in the evening.
Been here twice, will definitely come back when I’m back in Montreal.

All are excellent except the room AC/Heat system is noisy and affecting my sleep. Even I set the temperature but not reaching it. Fan auto will create a large starting noise that woke me up in the middle of the night. Hope that they can improve the system or replace it.

Checked in late, next day got in the shower to find the floor of the shower dirty with long strings of brown hair. Next day, informed staff the sink was plugged but never rectified in my 6 day stay. Second day, crumbs and dirt on the carpet and highly visible green slimy stains on the mirror. Staff informed. Day 3 - no cleaning services. Day 4 - ordered room service for breakfast, menu states it will arrive within 30 minutes. 70 minutes later breakfast arrived and cold. I did receive a call from the manager. She was very apologetic and sincere. Credited the breakfast and offered to pay for my last day's breakfast. Sub standard and very disappointing experience.

La suite est immense et très confortable.
À noter que notre lit etait un lit escamotable. Très confortable tout de même mais le lit et les oreillers etaient très mous. Si vous aimez les lits plus fermes ce pourrait être un problème.

C'était pour mon 15ième anniversaire et ils ont été complices de mes petites surprises livrées pour mon conjoint à la chambre avant notre arrivée.
