I recently stayed at the Monville Hotel, and my experience was a mix of highs and lows that ultimately left me disappointed.

We arrived around 3:40 PM for our scheduled check-in at 3 PM, only to find that our suite was not ready. The staff member at the front desk seemed dismissive, as if our arrival was an inconvenience. After waiting until 4:05 PM, we finally got into our room—a full hour after check-in.

Upon entering, I was surprised to see that the room did not resemble the suite I had reserved based on the online photos. It was a very basic room, lacking the features I anticipated. When I called down to confirm we were in the correct room, the staff member assured me it was a suite but seemed uninterested in checking further before hanging up.

While the room was clean, several issues stood out: the toilet paper was half-empty, one towel had a rip, the coffee machine was leaking, and Kleenex wasn’t replenished during cleaning.

One highlight was the ability to have food delivered via a robot—a fun feature! However, this service was inconsistent. On the first night, I successfully arranged for pizza delivery to our room, but the next night, a male staff member told me they couldn’t send it up due to \"not having access to the room,\" which was confusing given the previous experience.

Overall, the staff needs improvement in customer service and communication. The inconsistency regarding food delivery and the rudeness of some staff members left a sour taste.

Hotel was as described. It was clean and wonderful location. We couldn’t valet because we did not have winter tires on, but that isn’t the hotel’s issue as they disclosed it on their site. Expedia did not to my knowledge. We had an emergency present itself and had to end our stay early. The hotel was very accommodating and professional. We had a lovely time and I highly recommend. The lobby also smells amazing!

Check in was really good, Abby was great.
Unfortunately there was freezing rain the following day, nearly fell in front of the Hotel. The entire sidewalk was ice.
I spoke to a young man on the phone at the front desk, i asked him to put salt down, told him i nearly fell.
His response was \"the city of montreal is responsible for putting down salt\"..i was stunned by his lack of empathy.
Later in the evening i phoned the front desk asked to speak with their manager, Mathilde spoke with me.
After telling her about my concerns for my safety she said she was sorry but that the city is responsible for salting the sidewalk, that the Hotel was not responsible for weather conditions.
I told her that i simply wanted to know if the Hotel would be salting the sidewalk, so i could safely get into an uber the next day...she said yes.
The next morning there was salt covering most,not all of the sidewalk.
This was very disturbing to me.
Honesty I thought being a guest that my safety would mean something.
I have stayed at the Monville many many times.
I do not think i will be going back.

Loved this hotel. Room was small but had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Everything worked. Plenty of glasses, mug, even hot water kettle which was great. Bed was comfortable. TV had lots of options. Staff was incredible. More like a 5 star.

Good stay. Very clean and modern. The only thing I didn’t like was they didn’t have dinner options available for two days for a private party. For the amount paid and I think there should be alternatives for people who are not apart of the private dining and who are unable to leave out to find dinner. Other than that, check in check out was good.

When we arrived we had a welcome note that was a different persons name, same on the TV as it was addressed to something else. Went to front desk to let them know that we were potentially in someone else’s room and they said no it was changed, no apology or anything about the situation and kind of just dismissed me. Wouldn’t say I felt too welcomed by the staff there. Room itself was fine, however nothing drawing me to come back

Was charged a daily tax for FREE breakfast that I didn’t even select

Was provided free breakfast as a gold member and only used the breakfast once over 3 days but was charged a fee for all 3 days.

Room was not properly cleaned

Counters not wiped : toiletries not refilled.

Sheets not changed on the bed : just bed being made.

Forced to do digital check in then to be told that my room was not ready and it was 4:30 PM then had to speak to a front desk rep.

Loved our stay here. It was the perfect location between old Montreal and downtown. The tunnels were a 2 min walk outside to get to the underground city tunnels. The staff were really good and we even got upgraded to a suite. If we were to go back to Montreal we would stay here again.

On my first morning, the elevators stopped working. There was no announcement. None. Even after I walked down 11 floors and ended up outside and had to walk to the front door to get back in the building AND, asked the front desk people if there was going to be an announcement, there was none.

Next, the top sheet in my bedroom was torn and tucked away to hide the tear.

Also, the halls are nearly black. I understand ambience. One afternoon though, I was returning to my room and felt very uncomfortable walking down the hall and there was an unkempt person moving toward me.

I told the front desk ALL three things, politely, and absolutely no offer of reparations was made. I will NEVER come back.

A tip for those traveling by car: there are some public garages nearby available if you want to avoid valet parking and save some money and time.

Grwat view and location. We stayed there because it is a dog \"friendly\" place. In reality it means you can have your dod slepping in the same room. That is it. You cannot leave your dog to go for breakfast or bring your dog together with you for breakfast. The breakfast, by the way, is the best i ever had jn a hotel, very french, lived it, but had to take it to the room.

Did not have breakfast here. The hotel property was very clean, quiet and beautifully decorated. Room was very well looked after. All the employees were awesome. Very polite and helpful. The only downside was that weren't any drawers to put in small clothing articles. All had to be in the suitcase. Would I stay here again..yes. A very nice hotel.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Monville. Location wise, much of what i needed was in walking distance and the hotel itself is really beautiful, clean and modern. The bed was extremely comfortable too.

Be aware that on Sundays and Mondays their restaurant is closed and that limits room service capabilities.

It's a great option and I would definitely stay again.

Room size not enough for 2 to move freely. No parking but you can drive around and find decent garage parking.
Otherwise everything is great, very clean room and bathroom. We bought booked high floors and stayed at 15 th floor. Staff is very supportive. Breakfast is comparative. Carefully book all guests otherwise you will be paying f out r complementing breakfast, especially if booking with third party.

My room was quite dusty along the back of the bed and the floor around the bed side tables. The shower is silly. There is nothing marking which knob does what and how to turn on the showerhead or sprayer and which way is hot or cold. The temperature in the room only goes to 20° and wont let it go colder than that. With the only blanket available a very hot duvet, made it a sweaty sleep. The hotel did provide a fan after several call down to the front desk. The pillows were lumpy and flat at the same time.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for her birthday and we were very pleased. After a long drive up, the check in and valet parking was quick and easy. We arrived two hours before check in and the room was ready for us.

The room was clean and modern however is was much smaller than what we were used to. Another drawback was there was no drawer space which was a struggle considering the two of us tend to overpack. The experience was pleasant. It reminded me of a chic dorm room.

It’s located downtown so it was within walking distance to quite a bit. We didn’t take the metro but it’s only a couple of blocks away. If you feel like being adventurous, the Underground City is nearby as well. Because it is a major city there was visible homelessness nearby but my partner and I didn’t feel unsafe and they generally kept to themselves (it was cold so they were focused on keeping warm).

Breakfast was included with our room and it served its purpose. It was buffet style and included an array of choices. The bar itself was well kept but not very lively (except one night when there was a group there). The kitchen was closed on Sunday night which was disappointing as my partner and I wanted a nice meal “at home”.

The staff was warm and friendly, especially David who was a valet and helped with the check in.

My partner and I would probably not stay here again because we prefer a more “hip” neighborhood but I would recommended it to anyone.
