We rented a two bedroom and loved the unit. The kitchen was very well stocked but we really didn’t use the kitchen much. The shower was amazing and lots of towels, shampoo, soap etc.. I was a little nervous with no front desk but the text messages and over all communication was excellent! We loved the vintage elevator, coupled with the brick walls and hardwood floors and very bring windows. It was a perfect location for anyway with a dog, and minutes to a tonne of restaurants. The noise level that some people complained about from the restaurant below l found was minimal and over by 11:00pm. Already looking to book this place again!

I will start with starting this was a very pricey stay but the place was excellent! The description was accurate and the unit was very clean. We appreciated the laundry for our longer stay. If anything could change it would be that we wished it had a dish cloth & soap so we could hand wash a few quick dishes. I will also say that the location was amazing for walking old Montreal. Overall a great place to stay.

Location!!! What a wonderful apartment in Old Montreal! We came to visit for a bruins game and was able to walk everywhere downtown. Washer dryer, kitchen and living room. We chose the 2 bedroom which was perfect for 3 people. Nespresso machine and a few free pods were a very nice touch.
I was very comfortable in the beds and they provided lots of pillows. My husband doesn’t like memory foam so he thought the bed was a little hard. There is construction in the area and the workers would load their truck at 6:30 am every morning for about 20 minutes but no fault to owners
The owners were very responsive and quick to answer. Parking is across the street for $40 per night. Very close. You can park in front to unload if you want.
Elevator very cool and old fashioned if you can’t take the stairs.
We were hot at night and opened the windows a bit. We didn’t see a way to adjust the temperature but we didn’t ask either. Our fault. I am sure the owners would have addressed it quickly.

It’s in the best location in the old port, by the river in one side and famous St Paul shops and architecture on the other side. You can literally step outside your door and you have museums for adults and kids, not to mention the restaurants and mini grocery stores. The place is large and fully equipped for cooking and laundry. It was our second stay and we will be back again.

The location can’t be beat with lots of shops and restaurants within an easy walk. The space was comfortable for the four of us; allowing us to do some work, and have some meals in. Convenient location in Old Montreal, with a nice view of St Lawrence River. Apartment is spacious, more than enough room for 2 guests, with a large kitchen and dining area. Bed was firm and very comfortable; rest of the furniture not much so. Nice touch that windows could open and allow fresh air, tho only an inch or two. Wifi was strong and fast. Access information arrived less than half an hour before entry and after I reached out for an update. And while it sounds like a hotel arrangement, just be aware that any additional service like daily or 1-time cleaning or early or late arrivals all come with an additional fee.

Only giving this 2 stars for the location. Apartment was not cleaned, very poorly equipped. The couch was covered in feathers from the pillows and there was absolutely no toilet paper in the unit. It took almost 24 hours for the property to provide toilet paper…. Would not recommend for the price, it’s a shame it is poorly run.

The location of this property is good, overall clean apt and management responsive . However, the beds (small) and couch are extremely uncomfortable. Although there is a kitchen, there’s no basics needed to cook ( ex. salt and pepper). There’s no extra blankets, garbage bags, etc. overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel as a place with amenities to stay and have a good night sleep.

Matelas confortable, mais les oreillers dans les deux chambres sont incroyablement inconfortables. Six oreillers tous pareil tous trop dur tous trop gros. Une sélection serait intéressante.
Très beau logement, commodité, bien équipé, emplacement, génial, mais pour le prix, je ne reviendrai pas à cet endroit, juste à cause du bruit .

Beautiful apartment with picturesque views of the St. Lawrence. Unbeatable location in Old Montreal. Close to everything you want to see! Fantastic layout and stunning interior design - we loved the exposed beams and brick. So much natural light!! No grocery store close enough on foot for us to make use of the full sized kitchen but a plethora of phenomenal restaurants right outside your door (literally). Be prepared to spend some serious money on meals (mains at restaurants nearby are easily in the 20-40 dollar ranges). If you like a solid mattress you’re in luck - otherwise the extra firm mattress might flare up some aches and pains like it did for us. Rooms were surface level clean but had large accumulation of dust and dirt - windows were dirty (looked like a dog had slobbered on them - it is dog friendly). Slime/mold noted to corners of shower. Black face towels provided had specks of white debris in them. Otherwise a fantastic stay! Would love for them to offer somewhere for luggage storage prior to check in.

We had an apt. which is on the 3rd floor with stair access only. It faces the Notre Dame whose steeples can be seen from the bedroom windows. This building is located on the river front road. Walking access to the Old Montreal restaurants and shopping is very convenient. Everything worked in the apt. The sample photos are accurate to the expectations. The grocery IGA is a 10-15min walk and Le Beau Marche is a 6 min walk from the apt. Most of the local restaurants will deliver too. Apt. was spacious, lots of storage, 2 toilets, 1 shower, washer/dryer and full sized refrigerator, electric stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher and has the basic cooking supplies making it suitable for long visits. High-speed wifi work well for our needs.

Our problem occurred when the property manager did not send the room access code until after 2 pm for a 3pm check-in. The email did not arrive to the inbox until 4:30. We bought local telephone/chip cards upon arrival which give us different telephone numbers than our booking phone therefore we never received the management text with the codes. We had to call the property managers and send messages via Expedia to make contact and obtain room access codes.
We will never reserve a room with no on-site staff again if we cannot have the room access code before traveling.

Beautiful building perfectly positioned in the heart of Old Montreal with short walks to breathtaking walkable streets filled with world class restaurants and shops. General parking is across the road on the piers which is about a 8-12 minute walk from the location and is about 50 CAD per full day. When we arrived in the unit we were very impressed with the contemporary renovations that seemed to retain the old charm. A couple of comments for a better experience next time, the sectional couch in the main living room could use some new cushions as they looked very well sat on and almost deflated. There were no waste baskets in any of the rooms or bathrooms. Also no extra blankets other than the bedding. My mother was cold despite turning up the heat. Finally we noticed some food crumbs on the he floor underneath the living room coffee table. Overall very nice for the price.

The property was great. When we entered we were very happy until the night. There is a club downstairs that is pumping music until 3am. Not in normal levels. I had to put my headphones on with noise cancellation but still the walls were trembling the bed was trembling. I moved to the sofa but still the same. I had to leave and sleep somewhere else. Unacceptable. They should have noted this on the description.

The apartment was nice and in a great location. The floors could be a bit cleaner (the rug was quite dirty and there was a lot of hair and dust from previous renters). We also saw a mouse scurry through at one point. Also, the pillows are too firm with no variation and no inner protective covers.
AC also didn’t work very well, so it was quite hot to sleep at night. I think for this to be considered luxury, it needs to address some of these minor concerns.

Give a test please (it didn’t lock as promised after ten seconds). Two of three nights interrupted by alarms (once a doorway, once a car, both after 1:30 AM). Beautiful accommodation and very handy…. I think we are grateful for facing back versus over restaurants, apart from the late night alarms… clever of you to leave ear plugs.

We were so happy with the location of this hotel. Definitely the best part of Montréal and right in the middle of great restaurants, shops, water, etc. That being said, the night life and music were fairly loud til about midnight (there were ear plugs in the bathroom drawer. ) It was great to have the space in the living area to hang out with the family. The sectional couch was nice and big for our family of four, although a little worn/ uncomfortable (feathers kept coming out of it. ) We were a little nervous to not have a front desk/ employees on site, but we got in fine and communication was pretty good.

Nice rustic yet modern flat - amazing stay

The flat that I stayed in had a very good layout and well decorated. The combining of the old brick walls into the decor of the rooms, gave it a very rustic yet modern feel. Stayed here for 2 nights in a 2 bedroom flat on the 4th floor. The process to get the access code and keyless and contactless checkin was a breeze. The location is amazing, right across from the port in Montreal. There are two restaurants as you step out of the building, I tried both and thoroughly enjoyed the food. I would definitely stay at this place again and would highly recommend it.

This place is a crazy good deal. So much space! Beautifully decorated. One concern was the front bedroom heard music from downstairs til midnight so bring earplugs if you can’t fall asleep easily. Minor issues: no Kleenex, paper towels or trash cans. This place seems new so they probably forgot them. We would stay here again.

The property had loud music playing from 12pm to Midnight. Then people are talking outside until 2am. Then from 3am, vendors start to arrive to start construction. Then from 4:30am to 6am, the trash trucks are picking up trash and bottles which startled my child and elder mom. So, if you plan to sleep while on vacation I would NOT recommend this property. Yes, it's situated in a prime spot but it's also where all the tour buses, school buses stop to drop off.

I wish the property had dual pane windows for the rooms AND had at least disclosed in the description that loud music can be heard in the rooms until midnight. I found other older buildings/lofts had double pane windows for the noise, but not this one. It was not a restful stay for the family and I did send an email and received no reply, unfortunately. There is an elevator, old, but still works.

Cute 2 bedroom place. Couch big enough to sleep on (no bedding for it). Location was awesome. Near many shops, restaurants and attractions.

Cons: music from street level restaurants blasted 12 hours a day (even on days they weren’t open). And the train grinding metal noise woke me up each night as well. (Even with white noise going, very loud).
Also very minimal (one trashcan in entire apt, no ice trays, no cups that fit the coffee maker, etc).

The Place Royal is a 4 story building located in the western border of old montreal facing the Port and a block off of the beautiful Rue St. Paul. It lacks a lobby and consists of spacious and clean apartments. The communication with \"staff\" is entirely through text who were very responsive. There was an issue with the front door, which is accessible by keycode, working properly and we had to rely on other guests letting us in for a brief period. It was a bit noisy with the nearby trains and club, but nothing that kept us awake at night. An amazing price for the location and the square footage.

The apartment is quality with high end fixtures. It is in an outstanding location. A bit noisy from tourists below and especially early morning trains but ear plugs were provided.Excellent heating and air system + temperature control for each room. You feel like you a local. Great restaurants below.

Important- it is an apartment stay not really a hotel. It is special for this but lacks the feeling of being a welcome guest.

I would have liked more interaction with a human. Text replies and emails were nameless so had no idea who was helping me or if it was ok to use the text number that sent cchekiin info or if i had to communicate only through hotels app.
The property was pretty good about replying to questions, it felt harder to get real assistance. For example I did make a comment via hotels . Com that I could use an extra blanket. The cover on the bed is quite light/thin. For future a spare blanket in the closet would be nice, also for sitting on thr couch in the evening.
It is a beautiful historical property but mind that there are extra property fees and tax. It is quite a luxury space and would be perfect for a couple especially. It has a kitchen with all dishes and applicances (but no kettle), even a washer and dryer. If looking for more services like a hotel this lacks little extras like tea, and creamer + no welcome letter, info about property, or any tourist type info but it is really an apartment you are renting. Good tv streaming app selections.

The location was really perfect. Located minutes walk from cafes, restaurants, shops, bars of all kinds. Only blocks from Notre Dame Basillica.
The apartment was very pretty, unique, well decorated. The historic rafters and exposed brick were beautiful. We had a couple of issues on entry to the unit that were addressed on-site within 15mins, despite there being no on-site staff. Housekeeping followed up without us needing to ask. The service was absolutely excellent.
Some reviews talked about noise, we were directly above the “noisy” bar. It was not that bad, we did not use any of the provided ear plugs.
Additionally, the bed was certainly firm, but not a stone. We slept just fine.

We would absolutely stay again, especially now knowing the type of customer service they provide. Clearly pride is taken in this establishment.

The Apartment is beautiful and is in a great location. It was perfect for our needs. The only thing that kept it from being 5 stars was the beds were too hard for my liking. They may be perfect for anyone else.

Aesthetically, the room is extremely well done; we felt like we were staying somewhere super special while away from home, which is a nice. The bathroom, especially the shower, was very enjoyably to use. The biggest issue was the bedroom. Although pretty, the mattress was hard as rock. The pillows also felt like they were made of stone. Impossible to have a good night's sleep. In addition, they advertise black out curtains but they aren't. They are just darker curtains but not actual black out, so bring an eye mask if you need darkness! Overall, we enjoyed our stay (living space is very comfortable too!) but the uncomfortable bedroom was dissapointing. Honestly, if they fixed the comfort level there I would say it's a great piece to stay, but until then it's just good.

Very nice apart/hotel. Wonderfully decorated. Well stocked kitchen. Comfy furniture and beds.
My only con was the noise from the street at night. There seemed to be a lot of delivery trucks I believe a garbage truck that came to building at around 6:00 am. There were ear plugs provided with the toiletries. Thought it was strange, quickly realized why.

My friend booked this property for our night away to Montreal. We struggled to find the keypad. The keypad was frozen in locked mode on account of the -10 degrees C. We called the number twice and the guy finally sent a picture, after that we had no problem. Parking is at the Quai, across the street. Easy walk, but would have been nice to have that info on the website when booking. The property had unopened food in the fridge. One of the dining room chairs was junked and there was a rip on the couch. The towel bar was loose. I made sure to take pictures and send them to the owner so I didn’t get charged for damages I didn’t do. The inside was beautifully updated and comfortable, warm too. The shower drained slowly, so don’t worry, just be aware. We look forward to our next trip, now that we know how to get into the bldg.

Great Stay!

The room and property are stunning and very clean. Perfect location for exploring Montreal. We did not have any issues with noise either being on the 3rd floor. One thing to note is there is an odd sewer smell, perhaps due to being an older building. There is no parking, but a few garage suggestions are provided and there is 1hr street parking right outside the building. Other than this, the suite, location and services were perfect. We would definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family.

Beautiful apartment, very spacious and clean. We had a wonderful stay! I would recommend this apartment for those who do not have a car. If you need parking it’s about $30 per 24 hours at the Indigo Parking Lots that are all a bit of a walk away. These lots let you leave and come back, unlike the parking at the Quay.
Overall it’s a wonderful apartment and we were so happy with our stay. Very prompt answers from the staff of we needed anything extra. Thank you!

A really beautiful place, but not supplied well, and the customer service is absolutely abysmal. They don’t respond to you over text, email, or phone, even if you reach them and they promise to fix something, it still didn’t happen, and there is no one on site, so it is not really a hotel in the typical sense that you have support of any kind , but it does have beautiful rooms at a great location.

We absolutely loved our stay. 100/10 beyond perfection .This location was within 10 min walking distance to lots of museums, art galleries, shopping, restaurants and many other attractions. The price was very fair for all the space and amenities included.. I appreciated the staff was very kind to us. I really liked how safe and comfortable and our family we felt. They send you the password you need to enter the building and your room in a email so make sure to check.

This condo was perfect for exploring old Montreal. Given the type of building being so old, the noise does carry quite a lot. Not ideal for light sleeper.
