We chose Hotel Saint-Laurent on a last minute search to spend a spring weekend in Montreal. The price was good (low), and the location quite satisfactory, and the reviews seemed good.

For our purposes, the hotel was perfect. It was clean and met our needs - including the friendly helpful staff. The large room with small kitchen provided the basics for a short or longer stay. Everything was clean and functional. The was something of a view, the windows opened for air, and beds were soft and comfy.

The minimal drawback was that the room felt a little like a furnished apartment, and less like a hotel room. Although everything was functional and clean it was all sparse and showed a lot of wear and tear. The AC worked okay, but was old and noisy.

Still, the place worked well, we had room to spread out, and the price was reasonable. We were happy!

This hotel is well-located, but the property itself is old. My stay was marked by a few issues, starting with a giant spider in the room on the first day; while hotel security did come to kill it, I eventually found another spider as well. I also noticed that the room maintenance was lacking, with nails visible in the ceiling used to close up various holes and cracks.

The room keys were particularly frustrating as they are easily demagnetized and cannot be kept near a phone or other cards, resulting in them getting demagnetized all the time. On a positive note, the room was spacious and the beds were nice and comfortable. However, be aware that the hotel does not provide any housekeeping service when you stay for a week.

it was an amazing vacation me and my friends come here every year. The check in went so smoothly but the check out didn’t go as well.. We ended up having to do a late checkout because my friend had a medical emergency. The guy at night by the name of Jordan was very difficult and wasn’t working with us he was just lazy and didn’t seem like he wanted to do anything. I asked him to hold the door open for the ambulance because they were bringing in a stretcher he said he can’t then i repeated that i need him to help and then he said “oh yea i can have the door open” after my friend leaves in a stretcher we then voiced it to him that we need late checkout he told us he can’t do that, we understood that and asked if we even have a chance to get one and he kept saying he can’t tell us? he then continued to have attitude towards us and kept cutting us off. We finally gave up and called in the morning for a late checkout and we got an hour extra they still came to our room at 11:30 telling us to leave after we got told we had till 12.. Take in my friend was taken to the hospital at 5am.. and we had a 7hr drive home. I don’t know if i’ll be back here again.

our suite (2 bedroom) was very spacious. The hotel has seem better days, the common areas were tired and as was our room. The beds were comfortable, AC worked well. Lots of clean towels but no spare TP.
I knew I was renting a budget hotel at a reasonable price and as such I was not disappointed. Rue Rene-Levesque is busy but our room was on a side street and very quiet. There are several metro stations within 700m. The location was handy to numerous neighbourhoods by foot, metro or bus.

If you're on a budget definitely consider this hotel.

My entire experience at this hotel during the F1 race week was enjoyable. The location was convenient walking distance to Chinatown, Old Town, the Metro subway, and the bus from the airport. Free access to laundry was a definite plus, and the fitness center was well equipped with dumbbells, a multifunction cable machine, several pieces of cardio equipment, stability balls, foam roller...everything I needed to maintain a fitness routine while on vacation. The staff were all consistently helpful and friendly during each interaction. There's an IGA within walking distance, so we kept light breakfast and drinks handy in the kitchen. We stayed in a junior suite and an executive corner suite during our six-day stay, and they were both equally comfortable. I will say that because the junior suite is smaller, I felt like the temperature in the room was better maintained than in the executive suite. In the junior, the AC was next to the bed and air could flow to the living/kitchen space, but in the executive, the AC was in the living room and very far from the bedroom. I was glad that we were in the larger suite for only one night, because I would have gotten too warm while sleeping. A fan in the bedroom would be helpful there. The decor is very basic (which is fine with me), but the beds and pillows were comfortable, and we slept well. This is not a luxury accommodation, but it's very comfortable and suited our needs wonderfully.

Room was dirty and worn out. Curtains were filthy and had disintegrated so much the light blocking portion was full of holes. We had a suite with a kitchen and no dish detergent or dish washer detergent was provided. How many people just rinsed the items in the kitchen! A major facelift is needed. Zero atmosphere.

We inadvertently found ourselves in Montreal at same time as F1 race so that may have limited our acvomodation options.
Hotel is within easy walking distance to old town /port but not in the prettiest area. Onsite parking is a bonus but it comes at a price $36 plus tax per night.
We had a 2 bedroomed suite - it was spacious but very sparcely furnished. Good storage with both bedrooms and hallway having big walk in closets however none of the doors close properly as all misaligned.
Although there's a kitchen and the apartment can sleep 6, there's only space for 2 bar stools. There's a table but no chairs so we had to eat off our knees on sofa.
There's only aircon in the living room and one bedroom so the other bedroom was very stuffy and quite hot.
One huge bonus was good free laundry facilties.
Overall decent enough, but for price we paid, there's probably better options.

The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The kitchenette and amenities made it especially convenient for a longer stay. The location was great for exploring Montreal. The only challenge was finding the parking entrance due to ongoing construction in the area, but overall it was a very pleasant stay and I would recommend this hotel.

The room was much more spacious than expected with a good size kitchen. Although we didn’t cook, the fridge came in handy. Unfortunately the bathroom was not super clean, but that may be due to the age of the hotel? And then we did smell marijuana and cigarette smoke from one of the neighbors even though it was not allowed. The staff were otherwise friendly and very helpful and the hotel itself was in a great area - walking distance to almost everywhere we wanted to go. The price was right we still would consider staying here again during our next visit.

The room was spacious and airy with plenty of windows and natural light. The air conditioning was lacking and couldn't be set for cooler than 23C degrees. The vent blew directly up into the curtain if it was closed, so we had to either leave it open or wedge something against it to push it back far enough that the air blew unto the room. Still then, we couldnt let sunlight in, making the room dark. Kitchen was adequately equipped but would have liked to have dish soap to hand wash a couple of items rather than having to run a 1/4 full dishwasher. Parking was convenient though expensive ($38 CAD per day) and a plus was that we could come and go with a special pass from the front desk. At 9:30 AM there was no hot water and I had to take a cold shower to start my day.

On the other hand , hotel need to be upgraded and someone knocked on our door on our first day without informing the receptionist, but it was resolved right away. Everything is good!

The kitchen was equipped with full size refrigerator, dishwasher, small coffee maker, electric teapot, two sizes of water glasses, dishes and utensils for 4, microwave. I didn't use any.of the pots or stovetop burners. Parking was very convenient, safe and underground in a secure garage under the hotel.

-Lovely and affordable place. It felt more like a condo unit than a hotel with how cozy and spacious it is. For reference, we got the room with 2 queen beds.

-There is a bus stop right in front of it so it's very convenient if you wanna take public transpo. A train station is also around 10 mins walk from the hotel.

-Staff is also very helpful and accommodating.

-best of all: free laundry and coffee

While first come-first serve underground parking is a mild concern, the hotel was exactly what we needed. The room was spacious, it had a kitchen area stocked with a few cooking essentials, and was overall quite clean.
The hotel is right downtown and close to many amenities. No complaints at all.

Little updated bathroom and kitchen, but room and everything else was clean and comfortable that what we needed after all day outing. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Close to China town, Saint Catherine street just street up and IGA supermarket maybe 10 minutes walk.
We did enjoy and we plan to return again.

We were very happy with Hotel St. Laurent. Excellent location, very clean room, nice windows that opened, good powerful well-stocked shower with lots of hot water, decent bed & linens. We were in the back so had no street noise, but the reviews that mention hall noise are accurate so we took earplugs and had no problems. Staff was excellent. The room was circa 1970 but we didn't care about that--it was comfortable;; in fact, we booked a room with the kitchen so we could do breakfast and lunch in-house and were surprised how spacious the set-up was. Our one complaint was that the kitchen was very sparsely furnished with exactly two glasses in two sizes, two knives and forks, two very small mugs etc., but there was a dishwasher and we made it work. We will definitely go back.

We had a couple of strange things come up - no dish soap for hand washing, dishwasher wouldn’t run, and the room’s temp control was auto-set to cooling - but we were able to work through most things and had a pleasant stay.

Hôtel was quiet and staff were very helpful. Post-checkout luggage storage and lounge access are a bonus.

Clean room, fitness area, and close to many amenities! I’ve been to Montreal a few times and this spot was the best for the price. Full kitchen made it easy to make our own meals and save money. The staff were very friendly and even upgraded us to a larger room when they checked us in, so sharing with 4 people was a breeze. Also, great location and free laundry!
Will stay here again next time I’m in the city.

I came to stay at Hotel Saint-Laurent Montreal at a moment of duress, as an already-booked place fell through just as I was getting off the plane. I got to the hotel and check-in was quick and easy. The location is right on one of the city's main roads, and within walking distance (about ten minutes) from two subway lines and a few main points of interest. The room was clean, and highly comfortable - I got to have one of the best nights of sleep ever once I got settled in. I'll definitely keep this place in mind for my next trip back to Montreal.

The room was functional, but it showed clear signs of wear. Several cabinet doors were separating and needed repair. There were stains in multiple areas, including on the ceiling. Paint was chipped and flaking. The carpet appeared old and worn.

The stay was acceptable, but the condition of the room did not meet expectations for upkeep. Regular maintenance and updates are needed.
