I stayed in this place last summer and I was very forgiving because they seemed to have just opened and were still getting things into place but when I returned this year, it was even worse. The power was out when I arrived and I couldn’t get into the building. The bed is cheap and really uncomfortable. There were bugs crawling on my face, waking me on the first night. The absence of any staff whatsoever is disconcerting and a huge inconvenience although they charge as if there are staff and services that just do not exist. This place is bad.

The room has a very strong odor. It smells heavy, perhaps due to the cleaning product used for the floor mopping. The aircon remote does not work because the battery are not good, so it's not possible to adjust the temperature. The room is not cleaned on a daily basis, and toiletry supplies are not refilled on a daily basis. By the end of my stay, there is no shampoo or body washer left.

The room had not been swept for a while, and there were ants. There was a door to the outside in my room, which was on the ground floor - it felt very unsafe. Maybe rooms on a higher floor wouldn't be so bad. It also smelled of stale smoke - could have been from outdoors, but still it was gross. It's also in a dodgy neighbourhood, and as I walked away, I saw people a few houses down using in the front courtyard of a house. Not a spot for a woman travelling alone.

The bath towel in my room had brown stains on it, the frying pan was not compatible with amd induction stove top, only 1 coffee pod for 2 nights, no sugar or creamer, no cooking tools, just cutlery, no toaster, no electric kettle, no security bars on the windows, animal trap outside of window, cigarette butts outside of window, no fire extinguisher in room with kitchenette, air conditioner made cracking and snapping noises all night, long dark hairs in bed, Toilet paper roll was left by previous guest. New toilet paper should be provided for new guests. The shower doors do not close properly. No where to hang a towel, You can not change the setting of the shower from wand to rain shower due to the knob being broken. The latch on the front door is broken, anyone could enter the building.

I contacted the property on my first morning about a clean towel and a frying pan. They said they would be dropped off. They were not and I was told that they forgot and was given a door code to get a towel from another room that was not cleaned from the previous guest. I've not been able to speak with anyone since. No one will reply.

room was spacious, and good enough- loved that. hot water took a while as you turn on the shower for hot it loads warm and then gradually catches up. someone attempted to come in. no response when reached out. i guess they were looking for their room .youre literally on your own to figure things out. staircase leading directly to the level badly built- door opens outwards and theres not enough space to stand and open door. room was fairly lovely, good window light too, some pots didnt work on the stove top. enough paper towel, towels, soap and toilet rolls for stay. as well as dish soap and sponge pretty chill and quiet. loved the stations were working on tv. a good bang for buck for a short/medium length stay, max 7. otherwise good enough and cutleries were present too. hope they have basic salt and pepper but tbh, fair experience- not bad, not over the top. but i liked it enough and kinda figured things out too with the no response from staff.

The bed was comfortable, everything was clean, there's an espresso machine. Although it would be nice to have oil salt and pepper for basic cooking. It's also nice that there's a washing machine at our disposal. That said my room was in a basement and there's lots of stairs to carry my 50 lbs suitcase. That room felt clostophobic to me. Also, I sent messages with no response to it. It also smells cigarettes and I'm not a smoker ;(

Very good hotel. Location is perfect 5-10 mins away from Berri UQAM. I felt safe on the streets around the place also. I got a message with a pin to access the hotel and the room. I don't think they have a reception. The room was a small studio but very clean, with its own small kitchenette and bathroom. They also have a laundry that's provided free of charge to the guests - I didn't use it, so can't comment

The only noise I could hear was during the day and only from the stairs above, it was very quiet at night.

Note that they do not do room service here at all. You get a few small bottles with shampoo and shower gel, 2x packs of towels, rubbish bags and maybe 5 toilet paper rolls. This might be a problem if you stay for the long term but was perfect for my 1 week stay

For the price, location and quality of the room, I think this is a great option

improvements needed:
- rainfall showerhead doesn't work
- no shower caddy so all my products were on the basin of the shower
- washroom needs a bin
- mirror lights did not work
- i couldn't find the remote for the tv, i needed to unplug because i had no idea where the power was

The check in process is smooth. After uploading the ID they send me the door passcode and the instructions to the room.
The room condition is not optimal. The bathroom doesn’t have a door. The wall is dirty. The water kettle doesn’t work (I emailed the host 3 days ago and haven’t got replies). The stove doesn’t work. The coffee machine doesn’t work and there’s no coffee pods. (The fridge and microwave oven were working though)
For the next time I’d be happy to go to real hotels with $30 more per night but have less broken equipments.

Should have received check in details 24 hours prior to arrival. Didn't get any information until one and a half hours before arrival. This was despite sending emails ( which can take 3 days for a reply)

Came here for the weekend, and honestly we were really disappointed with this place. Right off the bat, we didn’t receive check-in instructions, when I called the management the man who answered was extremely rude and unhelpful, and told me i should’ve received them already. After, when I went to check my email to see if I had them, the instructions had been sent after the phone call ended….. It was a terrible first impression of the property, but definitely an accurate one. To put it simply, the place is gross, it’s falling apart in some places and it’s generally pretty unclean. the stairs and railing to get upstairs are like, genuinely structurally unsound, and the walls are filthy. Our room was much different from the photos we had seen on Expedia, and honestly pretty unclean— stains on the walls, cobwebs everywhere, and a footprint on the ceiling? We were constantly battling spiders, and, when asked by the concierge via Expedia if we were in need of anything, we asked if we could get an extra towel (there was only one given to us for the room), and extra toilet paper, and were denied both. on the morning of our check out, i woke up and got ready, only to realize one of our pillows had a big yellow stain on it, and decided i didn’t even want to know what it was. the place is not like the photos, the only good part was the accessibility of transit and the easy walkability from the hotel to other places nearby. The location of the hotel is great as its near an MRT station that has 3 lines. The hotel itself is a bit old and rundown. The front door has a buzzer code to enter, but we realized that the front door was never actually locked (might have been broken) which raised some safety concerns. We also booked a room for two people and only received one towel. We messaged the hotel for another towel. They replied quickly assuring us one will be sent over, but it never came. After following up on the request the next day, it went unanswered. There are many other hotel options in the immediate area. I recommend trying somewhere else if you are looking for a more smooth experience.

I was initially a bit hesitant due to the negative reviews, but I really can’t complain about my stay. Communication was excellent, and the location is very convenient. We were concerned about overnight parking, but luckily there's a garage directly across from the building, which worked out perfectly. Fresh, clean towels were provided, which was a nice touch. The only downside is that the walls are quite thin, so you can hear others if they’re speaking loudly.

My friend nearlt fell because one of the drint steps is loose. Once we arrived in the building we heard vwmery loud music blasting from our room. It seemed like someone had accessed the room and cranked up the music on the TV. The person on the phone was not able to contact the cleaning staff so they had no idea who had accessed the room or if someone was in it. We decided to knock and open the door.

The room looked nothing like the pictures. The AC unit had leaked on the wall. There was a whole in the wall and the walls were dity. The counter was also dirty.

We felt quite unsafe staying there for the night. The property manager was not helpful and hung up on us and stopped answering when we called back after we asked for a refund.

We ended up leaving and paying for another hotel. We contacted hotels.com and they tried to get a refund for us from the property but were unsuccessful and refused to refund us.

There was a gnat infestation and the is place needs to be fumigated. Gnats and flies everywhere! And no basic amenities like hand soap, trash can in room, conditioner, bag storage, etc. I don’t see a soul working at this place except for housekeeping which are very loud in the mornings. The front stairs to the door are about to cave in and doesn’t meet any safety standards. I had to ask for a towel and blanket when I arrived.

JUST DON'T DO IT!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!

This was one of the worst \"hotels\" I've ever experienced in my life. It was actually worse than the HOSTELS I've stayed in, in the past. At least at a hostel there is a check-in desk and soft spaces to hang out with others and commiserate about how ghetto your accommodations are. The room felt like a shoe box, with barely enough space to move around the bed. There was not one ounce of detail or care. Not a shelf in sight or drawer to put your things. No luggage rack. No real space to even put your suitcase. Not a single place in the bathroom to store your things, not even in the shower. Then to top it off, I found a suspicious looking bug on a napkin near my bed. It was either a BED BUG or a carpet beetle, but either way there was no chance in hell I was taking that risk for a place like this. I called and spoke with the owner and asked to only be refunding for my remaining nights, but he refused and was absolutely rude about it all. Essentially calling me a liar. I sent him photos of the bug like requested, but they did nothing but respond that they couldn't refund me any money. Whatever you do, DON'T STAY HERE!!! Montreal is absolutely gorgeous and there are many budget accommodations that would be world's apart from this one. Not to mention, the street that it's located on felt very run down as well.

I recently sent a message Twice through this portal and no one has responded to me. This is what I sent about 5 days ago:

Thank you for your hospitality at Cloud Hotels. I appreciate the cleanliness and comfort of the space, particularly the cool temperature and comfortable bed.

However, I do have some concerns regarding the accuracy of the amenities listed on the website. The listing for the single bedroom shows a small desk and a TV, but neither is present in the room. Additionally, there are no towel racks or place to hang clothes or towels, and the bathroom does not have a door. While there is a coffee pot provided, there is no coffee, which is typically expected based on similar accommodations, nor was I informed to bring nespresso pods

The stopper in the bathroom sink had to be removed to allow the water to drain down too.

I can provide photo evidence to illustrate the discrepancies between what was advertised and what is available. Given this, I would like to inquire whether a partial reimbursement could be considered to reflect these differences.

I do think it was very clean and attractive when I arrived.

However, there surprising were NO towels provided at check-in and a request had to be made, and this took 24 hours to rectify. Pros : the location is perfect. It’s in the middle of downtown with easy access to the the public transportation. The facility is fairly clean. Communication is ok, but not as quick as I wished.
Cons : my bedroom was located in the basement close to the garbage room; its filthy gross. I’ve spent most of the time away from the room; I just slept there with one eye open. I did communicate that I did not like the location of the bedroom but the owner never got back at me. There are rats outside of the building. There’s no bed sheets and towels exchange; you gotta do your own laundry. I had to buy soap and do laundry a lot.
Suggestions : it would be nice to provide clean towels and bed sheets to customers staying longer than 2 nights. And place all bedrooms away - upstairs - from the garbage storage. The basement is not clean at all.
I would recommend this place for a short stay. Not for 10 nights like I did. The place could be better and I believe the owners will do great in this business.

Uncomfortable bathroom because it was so small...shower also awkward for the same reason. No hooks or towel racks. Walls are dirty and the room didnt look like the photo. I was put downstairs and it was a bit depressing. No blanket on the bed or anywhere in the room. The TV wouldnt turn on..I got no responses from whomever I was texting (AI?) once I arrived. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Imoved to Econo Lodge, which was cheaper with breakfast included, bigger room and helpful reception. Definitely passon this place. This place is not worth it, trust me. Poorly cleaned, stains on the walls and in the bathroom, broken shower, broken towel hanger, dirty cups and dishes. Only a very thin blanket on the bed on a -13 degrees celsius outside in winter, that was crazy, at least the heater was working. Poor noise isolation, could hear everyone on the other bedrooms and hallway. It's very close to the subway but this area is not very good, lots of homeless people in the subway entrances. The room was also not prepared for winter, we made a mess with our winter boots, nothing we could do. The room was dirty from day one because of the boots and that was it, nightmare, no one to clean, no extra towel or door mat.

Let me start by saying I don’t usually leave bad reviews but I will be honest and fair here. Its very disappointing, I will pay more next time to get a better place. There was a lot of problems, and i wouldn’t consider it a hotel.

Firstly, my room was in the basement, beside the garbage room that is filled with flies. Super gross! I cant believe they put rooms down there! I immediately messaged the property to see if I could get a room on a different floor or one without flies in it. They responded the next day saying it was fully booked so I couldn't move.

The property is not sound proof at all, so you can hear every single person around you, including people outside. There is construction right outside the window, super loud in the morning and impossible to sleep through even with ear plugs.

The tv did not work. The bathroom lights flickered. The mattress is just a chunk of foam. There is noone working there, and feels unsafe. Dirty comforter, walls, hair in bed, no coffee or tea, I could go on and on…

I would definitely not trust to leave anything expensive in the room, and felt unsafe as a solo female traveller.

A few good things about the place was the location, the easy check in, good pillows, towels and sufficient toilet paper/toiletries. The bathroom was clean and water pressure was good.

All in all if you are on a really tight budget and plan to spend very little time in the room, its fine for the price, but i wouldn't stay there again.

Very impressed after seeing the negative reviews!

I was hesitant at first to book this considering the many negative reviews. But I needed a cheap place to stay and the rooms looked nice online. The room and bathroom was definitely on the smaller side but as a solo traveller for two nights, that wasn’t a bother to me. Especially since the room had pretty much all that I needed including a mini fridge, plates, and cutlery. The storage space was enough for me and there was plenty of room under the bed. The bed, linens, headboard, and pillows were very comfy and I was really impressed by them. The Roku smart tv was very nice as well and I was able to mirror my laptop screen to it. The toiletries were good. Paper towel was provided but I did wish I was provided a tissue box but it’s not a big deal. The amount of towels provided was sufficient for one person and they felt very high quality. I used the microwave a lot but didn’t use the induction cooktop. The A/C unit was very nice to have as well/ Overall, I’m very satisfied by the room itself and impressed compared to the other reviews! My room was on the ground floor but since I came with a carry on-size suitcase, the stairs was not a problem. I didn’t have a view as the room looked out on to the back fence and fire escape. The floor did have a noticeable trash stench but it was definitely tolerable. The garbage room was full of flies which was not a pleasant surprise. The overall condition of the building wasn’t the best but my room was fine and secure. Would stay again!

Checked in, room unclean. Called customer care to have room cleaned, they sent cleaning lady next day while we were out. When we came back, my expensive branded jacket, a bag of food and 2 pairs of contact lenses have been stolen. Management is uncooperative and cannot provide details of the manager or the cleanin personnel or the Video surveillance and keep telling us they are looking into it. They are not willing to provide that to the police either when we filed a complaint. We are still waiting to hear back from management to find and return our stuff or compensate us for the losses.

Horrible experience from a safety and security perspective. The staff is unable to understand the urgency and left me no choice but to file a criminal police complaint and if unable to compensate me back I may have to take legal action.

A really great bang for your buck - right in the heart of the city within walking distance of the old quarter. With the negative reviews I was worried, but for the price you really can't complain and I'm glad I took the chance. Surprisingly spacious and quiet in the deluxe room, and the kitchenette was a god send. Plus the in-room temperature control came with a remote so you could adjust the temperature settings while cozy in bed. The property responded immediately to my questions, as well. Definitely staying here again next time we're in the city! :)

The link to access the check in codes was broken so there wasn’t a way to get the codes. Fixed it myself by editing the link. Place was dingy but okay. Many visible scuffs and water damage on the walls. Bathroom sink had drainage issues. But the bed and surfaces were clean. Area is conveniently located if a little sketchy. The price is a good value if you don’t plan on staying in the room much. An okay place to stay if you plan on being out often.

The unit is way too small to be called or setup as classic studio. On the surface, it looks good with good lighting. But there was spider and a big insect/bug that had to be taken care of. The induction stove provided did not come with set of pots and pans that works with induction nor any cooking utensils. It should suffice with just the nice microwave. The owner can do much better set up for the small space with some well placed hooks and shelvings (including for the shower stall ). If the unit is setup and rent as a room with private bath, microwave kichenette then the expectation is better managed.
