Hotel Omni Mount Royal offers a blend of comfort and service that makes for a noteworthy stay, though it’s not without its shortcomings.

Negatives:
Upon arrival, I encountered a few issues that impacted my initial experience. The absence of liquid soap in the shower was promptly addressed, which I appreciated. However, other concerns persisted: the sink stopper was broken, requiring attention, and I had to jiggle the toilet handle to prevent water from continuously running. Additionally, I was disappointed that the staff did not acknowledge my injury at check-in or suggest a handicap-accessible room, had one been available.

Positives:
On a brighter note, the majority of the staff demonstrated a friendly demeanor, often eager to assist, such as holding the door open for me. Despite my earlier concerns, the room itself was quite accommodating. The bed and pillows provided a comfortable night’s sleep, and the room was spacious enough to maneuver with a knee scooter, which enhanced my overall experience.

In summary, while the Hotel Omni Mount Royal has areas for improvement, particularly regarding attention to guest needs and room maintenance, the friendly staff and comfortable accommodations contribute to a generally favorable stay.

Great location, close to the metro, as well as a variety of good restaurants. The staff were pleasant, the bedroom large, very comfortable, well appointed and spotlessly clean.
The cocktail bar was relaxing and comfortable and the staff were excellent.
The only disappointment was the breakfast, where the cold buffet had a very poor selection so we only used it once.
I would highly recommend this hotel.

This is a very comfortable and welcoming 4 star hotel. It’s centrally located within walking distance of museums, galleries and a multitude of dining options. Staff is friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean, comfortable but could use a little refurbishing. Overall, a great choice for a hotel and one that I would highly recommend.

For us, the fitness facility is key in choosing a spot. The Omni 'boasts' a 24/7 operation, but it is grossly neglected (dirty and in disrepair). Filthy floors, treadmills are not properly maintained (my spouse owns a gym and oversees maintenance, so she knows when equipment needs it). No signs in the gym reminding patrons to put their stuff away - so between the filth and this, people leave it a mess. Also, no signs about no kids - it is not a playground, but it's used as one - total turn-off for someone wanting a good workout.
Even more disappointing was that we reported the condition to front desk manager and the next day they had cleaned an 8' section under the free weights and nothing else. We were given passes to use the hotel's gym across the street, but that is not what we signed up for when booking.

The hallways on the floors where the rooms are is no different. I saw a vacuum, but maybe that was just for effect as they don't use it.

It's too bad because the staff are pretty good and the location is excellent. Whoever has bought the property needs to start with the basics. The hotel is dated, but that can be offset with attention to detail and some basics.

In reply to the concierge's boilerplate marketing message about our next visit, I asked for a credit and was told that because the hotel was in transition (ownership) it was not possible. Part of her reply is attached - that it took my reporting to get it together and clean is silly.

We won't be back.

This is a pretty property and my room was quiet and lovely. There was a problem with the drain plug in my room ( 1215) though, so I couldn’t take a bath like I had hoped after many miles of walking . My room coffee maker in the morning was also not working properly which was a disappointment - but the coffee the hotel offers in the morning made up for that .

Hotel staff were fantastic ! Linens and bed were top notch ! And location can’t be beat ! Overall , I’m glad I had the opportunity to experience this hotel ,

The staff were great but the hotel is tired and the rooms need a good cleaning. Our bathtub did not hold water, the marble around it was separating and had mildew issues. There was peeling wallpaper in the bathroom and the linens were stained.

Wonderful staff. Tried their very best. Clearly management and/or policy issues. Two of the five nights they forgot to clean the room. In the bar area, again wonderful and kind staff, but system issues. Took 30 minutes to get the check, then the check was incorrect as it was for a different table, and then an additional 20 minutes to wait to get the correct check. Breakfast area in the morning had to wait 20 minutes for a table. Restaurant was only half full. Half the table were not cleared, so there was no where to sit in a half occupied restaurant. All told, every staff member were kind and caring. Felt like the hotel was in transition of some kind and for the price we paid for a king suite, the service was less than what we expected.

Rooms were very dated and kind of dingy. The carpet was somewhat grungy and there were stains on the furniture by the bed. There were chips in the wall and holes in the lampshades.

There was no main light switch, just dim individual lamps, one of which didn't work at all and one flickered like a stobe light when turned up, leaving the room dark and gloomy unless it was daytime.

For the bathroom, the plumbing had low pressure so the toilet doesn't always flush fully and the shower was weak, but hot water was good.

The bed was clean, but very springy and overly mushy.

The thermostat seemed to struggle, several degrees warmer than AC listed on not that hot a day, so peak summer might be rough.

We received a welcome gift, that was one pair of slippers (we were a couple), one pair of earplugs, and a bag of chips.

Staff was very friendly, lobby very nice, but overall I left with a much lower impression of the Omni name.

Lovely view, slightly dated room. Concierge was off at 6pm on a Friday. And a lovely piece of birthday cake and bubbly greeted us in our room (but sadly they were for someone else)! Someone promply came by to collect the bubbly. I love this property but it feels like the service and rooms aren't quite what they used to be...

This is probably my 6th or 7th time staying at this hotel and honestly, it seems to get worse with each visit. The incredible staff and convenient location are the main reasons I keep coming back, despite the dated rooms and noticeable stains. Noise is also a constant issue. the doors do little to block sound, and if your room faces Mount Royal the constant traffic noise hard to ignore.

Thankfully, this stay didn’t include the endless faucet dripping or wet spots on the floor that I dealt with two weeks ago. After that visit, I was contacted by someone I assume was the manager, Mathieu Dugardin, but after I responded, I never heard back.

Overall, the hotel is okay. The positives and negatives more or less balance out, especially if the price is low enough.

And just another shout out to the amazing staff!

Very nice location for 1st time travels as we were just across from McGill University and a very direct route to the Mount Royal lookout (lots of steps). Although we didn’t do much via the hotel amenities, it was unfortunate the hotel pool area was out of order!

This is a decently dated hotel in terms of rooms but we did have plenty of space for a 2bedroom suite (basically 3 connecting rooms) and that was perfect for our family of 4!

Would recommend primarily for the location and need it essential space! Definitely would have enjoyed if there were newer amenities or upgrades to the property!

I thought I would try a more up-scale hotel than usual on this trip to Montreal, but on the whole I was disappointed.

(1) check-in: I arrived at 5pm and I was told my room was ready, but I'd have to wait while it was \"verified\" -- that took 10-15 minutes, which was OK, but not my idea of luxury.

(2) room: large, but a bit worn. The front legs were missing from the mini-fridge. One of the upholstered chairs smelled faintly of vomit when I sat in it. The bed was comfortable.

(3) check-out: there was a line to check out at 6am. Unpleasant surprise: a $20-per-night \"destination fee\" was due on checkout, in addition to the advertised rate. I see it is disclosed in the fine print at the time of booking; however, since it is not optional (unlike parking, or a late checkout charge) I would expect it to be part of what expedia quotes as the total.

This property is well-located on Sherbrook. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the staff is exceptionally nice and helpful.

The reason I give four stars and not five is that the property is definitely showing its age. In-room furniture, the bathroom, carpets and walls are due for a refresh. The HVAC worked intermittently, but its malfunction did not rise to the level of calling for help. Another little detail is that the bedside clock had an Apple 30-pin connector for iPods and iPhones last sold in 2011. No big deal, but it gives you an idea of the last time anything was updated.

I would rate the breakfast room in the lobby similarly: perfectly clean and ready for business, but not up to 2026 standards.

To be fair, all this is reflected in the room rate, which was a bit lower than competing properties.

With these caveats, I would still recommend a stay due to the reasonable rate, the location and the top-notch staff.

I’ll start by saying the staff here are absolutely amazing! They are the genuine reason I stay at this property and the service is truly top-tier. The location is also fantastic, and I really enjoyed the gym. However, while the rooms are spacious, the property itself is incredibly dated and feels subpar for the price paid.

The maintenance issues were the biggest drawback. My room felt old, and because the walls and doors are so thin, you can hear everything in the hallways. The bidet in my room had a constant, annoying drip, and the toilet in the gym was broken, meaning I had to go all the way back up to my room just to use the bathroom during a workout. Even worse, my friend's room had a leak on the floor, so we had to keep our shoes on the whole time I was visiting him.

The logistics were also a hassle. Since room keys only grant access to your specific floor, we couldn't easily visit each other. We either had to meet at the lobby and go back up together, or I’d have to walk up 10 flights of stairs. It was also a letdown that the pool and hot tub were closed during my stay.

If you’re looking for a hotel with a great location and world-class service, this is a solid choice. But if you want a place that feels fresh, clean, and fully functional, you might be disappointed.

I love the Mount Royal Omni. The breakfast place is first class, the decor is elegant, and the location perfect. I had one of the largest suites for my family that I have ever had, with two bedrooms and a living room. One of the few hotels I look forward to going to.

The property would really benefit if it was updated a bit. The room was very outdated. The air conditioning did not work, the bed was not comfortable, the fan of the air exchanger was extremely noisy. I was disappointed with the room. The upsides were, the room was clean, a nice lobby, the breakfast at the restaurant was good, the staff were friendly and welcoming and it was a good location.

The staff at the hotel are very kind and responsive. However, our room was uncomfortably hot our entire stay and the only option was to keep the window open, which meant the curtains had to be wide open and therefore we had no privacy, heard all the outside noise pollution and were awake with the sunrise. The room was still extremely hot with the window open and there is no mechanism to control the room temperature. We reported this both days to staff and they said they couldn’t do anything about it and that the “ac was on”. The hotel bar is nice but the staff really struggled and the service was so so slow - they need another bartender and to be better stocked - every other request they had to run to the back to retrieve items. Beds were comfy, and the room was clean. The “fridge” broke, which the hotel staff later told me was just a “cooler”. They did quickly bring a replacement, which was an actual fridge but we still lost all of the groceries we’d bought the day before.

Overall this hotel needs some major updates. You can tell that at one point, it was luxury. But not anymore. I don’t think I’ll go back.

Staff was very rude and unwelcoming especially the lady at the front desk with long black hair. She has TERRIBLE customer service. I only stayed because they wouldn’t let me check out without charging an extra fee. NEVER going back there because of the experience I had.

There was such a lovely lady at the bar. I feel sorry that she has to work in such a hostile environment.

Our one complaint was it was too warm to sleep well. They have only and option of heat or a/c for the entire hotel and all we could do was turn our heat off. Even with the heat off in our room and it getting down to 36 degrees at night it was still 79 degrees in our room. There was no option to then turn on a/c. I assume it being transition of seasons like this is the issue…But for a 4.5 star hotel to have this issue and us then not being able to sleep well for four nights was hugely frustrating. There was a tiny window that we were able to open but there was no air circulation so it did not help.

We would not stay there again because of this.
