I would give this a 5 star as the staff were great and the breakfast was great but the pillows and the noise from people in hallway and above and the road noise was crazy into the night and difficult to sleep. The pillows deffo need a revamp lumpy and not comfortable.

The welcome was excellent and concise. The room was very clean. Some fixtures were a little loose, the bedside lamp and the toilet flush. The room despite this was very well appointed and the bed was comfortable. The compliment breakfast was very good and varied.

The bedrooms are large and the bathrooms as well. The breakfasts and all other meals i've had where good but while i was staying at the hotel the lifts where out of order and looked like one had been out for some time. Phone before booking because its a long walk up 4 or 5 floors.

Very tricky to get parked as the pull in outside was cordoned off by the hotel. The actual parking is behind and below the hotel. The bed was lovely but the bathroom was not so clean and shower drain blocked. Staff lovely and friendly

The lift was a little temperamental, and wouldn't go down on one occasion, and one of the coffee machines was out of order at breakfast. Apart from that, the only real disappointment was the breakfast itself, which was low budget to say the least. The two staff on duty looked like they were overworked most of the time.
On the positive side, the room was clean and comfortable, and the staff very polite and helpful.

Shower was amazing and the sink in bathroom was a little slow draining. But overall was ok. Rooms were clean but lack of lighting was unfortunate. Breakfast was a plus! And one particular staff member was insanely quick to make sure tables were clean and dishes were collected!

Kept having issues with key cards but staff were super friendly and quick to help!

Lets say we stay here often but this time wasnt great . Think the lift was more of an amusement as one was out of order again and traveled to every floor to get to ours . We had one coffee sachet in our room to share. As normally 2 or 4. Breakfast was lovely thank you and the male member of staff was doing his job very well and polite.

Very noisy. You can hear everything from the delivery drivers singing in the morning to the locals arguing at night! I was on the 5th floor so must be worse lower down. Bathroom wasn’t very nice. Breakfast was ok.

Unfortunately the toilet in our 6th-floor room did not flush well.
Additionally it is not a fault of the hotel but the parking was little bit challenging for the foreigners. We have to pay the parking fee by smartphone application which could not be installed to foreigner's smartphone.

Do not recommend, there are better places to stay.

Our party of 3 had two rooms, and they were very different in condition. Our daughters room on the first floor was acceptable, clean although had a weird odour.
Our room on the fourth floor however was not as expected from previous stays with Holiday Inn Express. There was an odour when entering the room, and an irritating noise which we soon worked out was the air conditioning unit. The toilet water looked dirty, like it had back flushed when another one is used, there were no bags in the bins and the towel in the bathroom had brown marks on it from a previous visitor. The kettle did not boil, it shorted when switched on. We tried using the phone to contact someone but no one answered. When getting into bed there was a lump on the mattress, upon inspection we found used dirty tissue under the sheet. When using the shower, the water did not drain quick enough and had to cut the shower short to stop the tray from over flowing. The lifts were either out of order or overly busy meaning a long wait for space and no clear signage to the stairs for alternatuve access. There were no visable staff when checking out to make these comments too. I am really disapointed with our stay and will not be recommeding or returning to this hotel.

Issue with room being set as a double and not twin, A/C noise and didn’t cool the room, night club in close proximity had extremely load base music until 2am at least. Hotel was very clean, but access to car park poorly exploded, staff made every effort to correct the issues within their control.

The bedroom was well-appointed, compact, and very clean, with efficient use of space. The bathroom was also well-equipped and generally clean, though there were some signs of mildew and limescale in places that suggested a need for more thorough deep cleaning.

Breakfast was of good quality, with a decent variety of options. However, during busy periods, staff struggled to keep up with demand, resulting in items not being replenished promptly. The dining area was also quite small, leading to some crowding and limited seating at peak times.

Overall, a comfortable stay with quality amenities, though improvements in cleanliness and breakfast service capacity would enhance the guest experience.Would stay again. A solid 8/10 hotel and a bargain price.

Very basic hotel. Staff on the front desk were not at all clear about parking arrangements. Really noisy at night from outside aswell as other guests. Air-conditioning was useful but very noisy. Room was fairly clean, quite dusty in places. Barely any refreshments in room, two teabags, 2 coffee sachets and 4 sachet of milk. Breakfast was a nightmare. Really busy and not enough tables. None of the tables had been cleared or cleaned. Only one coffee machine working with big queue. Pancakes were the size of a 10p coin! It was ok for a one night stop over but probably wouldn't return.

Firstly, car park area was smelly, alot of things were not provided to us, no pressing iron and prior information about it , should we have any need for it, toilet brush wasn't provided, we had to ask a couple of times for our room to be cleaned before it was done. Above all we were locked out of our room as we went downstairs for breakfast came back 10:30am as check out is 11am to pack our stuff, our entry card into our room was disabled, we asked why our card doesn't work anymore, the staff said coz our check out time getting closer 😁 funny, we had half an hour left before check out and was locked out.

Ordered a king room, had 2 singles, even though we booked months ago.
The eventually pushed together and put a mattres topper on.
Friends had same, they moved them to a different room, with another 2 single beds, eventually put topper on theirs too.

The lifts were both broken, had to carry our bags up the fire escape stairs.

When we arrived in the room it smelt like canabis/tabaco. The window was broken and open so the room was cold.

It took me 2 hrs and had to argue with the inexperienced staff to cal their on call manager and get someone to fix the window.

They knew abkut the window before letting the maintenance man go home as he walked straight past me. The poor man had to come back because the staff refused to pass on the message.

The bed was not confortable and in the morning it took staff 20 minutes to find the allergy sheeet so i could find out what I could eat with a dairy intolerance. I asked nicly if the cheif could do a fried egg as the scrambled eggs contained milk and was told the hotle has a policy of not being able to offer this. This was one of the worst stays I have had in the uk.

The property was very clean and the breakfast buffet was good. The first room we were given didn't have working electricity, so they moved us. During the first night we realized that there was something faulty with the air conditioner as it kept shutting off. We told the front desk clerk in the morning and they said that they would have it fixed. When we returned in the evening, nothing had been done about it and the front desk knew nothing about it. They had someone reset the air conditioner from the main control box but we continued to have problems for the rest of the night. We let the front desk again know in the morning, and they simply said \"sorry.\"

I wish I had something good to say. The hotel is in drugsville, not at all pleasant to walk around. The reception service was slow. The lift (singular) was tiny and only arrived every 10 minutes. The room was okay. The bar service was non-existent (the receptionist was also the barman and the chef). The breakfast experience was terrible, with dirty cutlery, missing crockery, broken coffee machines and missing breakfast items.
Shame, I normally find this chain perfectly bland and acceptable.

The hotel was okay but due to the lift being broken and was not been fixed in the duration of our stay not to mention we were in the 5th floor.They could hve done something like offer their guests room in the lower part of the hotel. Also, sheets has not been changed and my partner was not happy about it. Though they managed to move us to another room but still in the 5th floor with no lift.

Disappointing Stay – Safety Concerns & Poor Facilities

Unfortunately, our stay at this Holiday Inn was far from pleasant. On the first night, my wife almost burned herself in the shower due to a faulty tap that couldn’t regulate cold water properly an unacceptable safety hazard! We were moved to another room, but this shouldn’t have happened in the first place.

On top of that, the hotel has only one small elevator, which is completely inadequate for the size of the building. Expect long waits, especially during peak hours.

Overall, a disappointing experience. Would not recommend unless these serious issues are addressed.

Rooms were clean, however they were freezing cold. The problem was reported, but nothing was sorted. Shower was cold. Breakfast was very disappointing.
