Really friendly friendly staff throughout the hotel, nice selection of food for breakfast, unfortunately the food temperature was not piping hot, could do with better warmers for breakfast food selection.
Dinner was very nice, would recommended Haddock and chips.
The room we stayed in (131) had a smell of drains which was very unpleasant on arrival to the room.

The hotel needs a good revamp.The room was a dump. The bathroom was horrible. The shower had no power it dribbled out. The hallways were dated the carpets were dirty. Reception was a joke there was never anyone there. Stood for ages before anyone appeared. Wouldn't stay there again.

I requested a downstairs room due to having a poorly ankle and they put me in a room that was the furthest from the reception as possible. The bed was so hard that I barely got any sleep. Given they are one of the most expensive hotels in the area I would definitely not recommend this hotel

The room was very clean only down side we were used to a king size bed so a bit cramped for stretching out, also matress dipped in middle so kept rolling into one another which is the only reason we didnt give excellent
The staff were absolutely brilliant nothing was too much trouble and so friendly it was like staying with family which is why we will be back and would highly recommend

The was a problem with the bathroom lock, as I was locked in and needed someone to get me out fromI reception. I was offered another room but felt it not necessary to change rooms the rest of the room was fine and I was only staying one night. Staff was helpful and understanding.

All you need to know is that this location was formally a motel and that it opened in 1971.

The premium room appears to be a normal room with a fridge in it. It had the smallest bathroom I’ve ever seen. Good luck using the toilet. Heating didn’t work. Single glazing. Really shocked. Two nights for £317. Wow.

Just had 2 nights stay here. Perfect for what we wanted. Swimming Pool access for kids, free parking for hotel guests, good size room and comfy beds, quiet and in a good location. Its not 5 star and a bit in need of refreshing in certain places but its great value for the price. Very happy with our stay.

Informed of pool closure after booking 😒

I have stayed at this hotel previously and rebooked as my children enjoy using the pool.
After placing my booking I received a message from the hotel via hotels.com to state that the pool was closed for a maximum of two weeks from 18 August. I responded to state that it was unfair to inform a customer of this after booking and have not heard anything since. I raised it during check in and the receptionist said that hotels.com needed to resolve the issue as it was booked through them. The sign on reception and the information sheet handed to us on check in stated that the pool would reopen on Monday 1 September at the latest, however the receptionist said that it wasn’t opening until Tuesday 2 September. I would have booked alternative accommodation if this information has been provided prior to booking.
Very disappointing end to the school holidays for my family.

Other than the above, the room was ok and the breakfast good value. The parking was free.

We have stayed here a few times. Very pleasant and helpful staff. The hotel seems like it needs an update as it looks very tired on the inside. It’s clean but a lick of paint would freshen it up
Also the water pressure in the shower was shockingly low. Quite terrible in fact.
But overall a good hotel.

Booked for its convenient location. Spent 15 minutes by phone ensuring a cot instead of sofa bed was provided on arrival in the room, it wasn’t! Breakfast good but dinner was terrible. Worst omelette ever! Had to always get the highchair myself, ask for teaspoons, non slip cloth etc. Pool was closed during peak summer hot weather! Breakfast buffet cleared away at 9.30am, surely this is a bit early? Two families arrived past this time and staff put the hot dishes back down! Plus point? Staff very friendly.

Great value for money and dog friendly which was great for a stopover . Room comfortable and friendly staff. 12 o clock check out really helpful.
Breakfast was superb and great value with kids eating free and reduced price for prior booking. We didn't use the pool but it looked fine. Lovely huge park over the road but not easy to get to on foot due to busy roads and no real footpaths First time using HI but will be stopping with them again

Staffs are friendly. Swimming pool is definitely adding fun for the whole trip. Dinner and breakfast are excellent in terms of flavour and the portions. Room is newly renovated. The staff are amazing, it was our 2nd stay and we cannot thank you enough: polite and friendly but also hard working-you are appreciated.
On arrival I said we’d stayed a couple of weeks previously and had a great stay & written a good review, we were immediately thanked and given a voucher for a couple of free drinks! We hadn’t expected that and certainly were not fishing to get anything, we’d genuinely had a fantastic stay. We were told that people don’t complain when there’s something wrong they just leave & write a bad review-that way no action to remedy the fault can be taken.
We really did have a minor problem this time, we told the front desk and immediate action was taken so that within half an hour the fault was rectified: thank you again.
ALL the staff are incredible, cleaners in the corridors, receptionists, bar & restaurant workers and the chef who visited everyone each morning to see that they have everything they need and that the standard is good.
Hotel facilities are great, air con was welcomed after a hot day working, pool & gym, restaurant and bar & quiet areas to sit. We are impressed.

Wonderful hotel. We were visiting from North Yorkshire for a friends wedding. The room was clean and the air conditioning was a god send! My daughter loved the swimming pool and the staff were very friendly and she loved chatting to them. The restaurant was good, slight delay in my daughter’s food, but they whipped it out fast once I’d asked where it was! The play corner was also very much enjoyed (some pieces missing from the toys but still enjoyed by her!) and breakfast was very nice. It was amazing that she was able to eat free whilst staying there too. Would 100% come back when visiting our friends again.

The hotel was fine. Room was a great temperature considering it was a very hot day. Bed was comfortable. Gym was compact but good. Pool was good. The sauna was good, albeit located inside the changing rooms which disappointed my wife as she wanted us to go in together.

The breakfast was ok. The \"Juice\" was watered down so it was almost like an apple had been waved at some water and they'd called it cloudy apple juice.

We went to the restaurant for dinner and were down a table very quickly then preceded to wait for 20 minutes for someone to take our order. It wasn't that busy, I'd estimate two thirds of the tables were empty. The problem was that there was only one pad for taking orders. But there were two members of staff and both were bringing drinks to tables when it would have been far more efficient to have one taking orders. As it was, we left and went to a local pub in walking distance.

As a hotel, for the price I can't fault it. But the restaurant is poor and the spa facilities should be made more clear.

Air conditioning broken (had a maintenance sign flashing), no fans, too hot to sleep. Also I booked on the fact that it had a pool and spa, but it was closed for swimming lessons the entire window I had available during my stay, without forewarning. I stay in a lot of Holiday Inns but this is by some distance the worst I've ever stayed in.

I booked this hotel due to the onsite swimming pool. Having 2 young children who wake early, i thought it would benefit us to have the option of swimming in the morning. After arriving in the fitness suite at 6.45am, we were informed the pool is adults only until 9am and then an aqua aerobics class was scheduled from 0930 til 1030, thus providing a 30min window for swimming. Having plans for the day this was not convenient or catering to our needs . Had the lack of early morning availability been available on eithe Hotels.com or Holiday Inn websites, i would have booked a different hotel.

Only used the property for sleeping purposes as was out during the day and evening but it ticked all the boxes in that requirement.
Expected to have a bath and fridge as brought food but that was probably due to the nature of the room I booked.
It was a comfortable stay and staff were very friendly so no complaints. A bit pricy for the nature of the room so would look for a cheaper option next time but no complaints from me on this visit.

Staff were welcoming, I had a phone call to my room to see if everything was ok. Young man in bar very helpful. I chose this hotel because it was near the hospital where I was visiting an elderly relative. There was no where I could go for a short walk, as the hotel is situated on xx dual carriage way. Still it fulfilled my needs.

The bed was very small, it was very uncomfortable. My partner is 6ft 4, hence we had no sleep for two nights as we had no room. When we lay down on the bed, the mattress would slide down away from the wall leaving a huge gap meaning the pillows were falling down the back. We had a word with receptionist who said all the beds were the same size, she said she would have a word with her manager and she would advise us on what the outcome was (they never got back to us) breakfast was a good choice, bacon was as tough as old boots and the sausage was awful tasted nothing like sausage and that was once you could cut through the skin on it, scrambled egg was in the form of a block, mushrooms came with a puddle of grease. Most disappointing part was the fact that me and my partner got no sleep for two nights and that they didn’t seem to care…no offer of a bigger bed nor some money back, they just didn’t care or take us seriously! Very disappointed. We will not be returning and if anyone wants a decent breakfast and a good nights sleep, then I suggest you avoid this hotel

Reception staff very friendly. Free psrking was useful. The kids were offered a complimentary drink and cookie which they really enjoyed. The sofa bed wasnt that comfortable but fine for one night. The changing room in the pool was fairly dirty and the limited swimming pool hours for kids meaht we only used it once.

Disappointed that one of the spa facilities was not available, the jacuzzi.

I specifically picked this hotel because of the spa facilities.

If l had known that the jacuzzi was not working and therefore not available l would not have booked.

After speaking with some of the members of the spa it became apparent that the jacuzzi has been out of service since October of last year 2024.

We had a nice stay. The reception and restaurant were very nice. Our room was pretty clean but it felt tired. There was chipped paint around the drinks area and the paintwork in the bathroom was damaged. The pool was nice. Changing rooms were clean. Breakfast was very good. All the staff were lovely.
