Had a relaxing stay overall. Friendly staff in lobby,spacious clean rooms with good clothes storage and comfortable beds. Nice to find hairdryer,iron and ironing board in the room. Good sized bathroom with lovely toiletries. Cooked breakfast at 9.30am was cold on our first morning and after microwaving our food,the warmers were switched on by a member of staff. Breakfast was on til 11am but the warmers were off. Breakfast was only warmer on our 2nd day as some trays were empty and freshly cooked food had to be waited for. Pastries,breads and cheeses were good as was the coffee. Nowhere in the information i received or on the hotels website was it specified that the pool was not hotel specific. I thought i was booking a hotel with its own pool & spa for residents. It was a leisure centre attached to the hotel which was open to the public. On going for a swim,half the very small pool was cordoned off for swimming lessons. Managed to do a little swimming but couldn't use the only 2 heated loungers as there were children on them who were not staying in the hotel. Kind of disappointed slightly as it wasn't what i thought and would have preferred it to have been exclusive to hotel residents. The spa was very very good though. Massage & reflexology was well worth it. Relaxing atmosphere in the spa and felt chilled out after treatments. Not a bad stay overall. Would consider staying again.

The heating in our room did not work so we had to move radiators from the living room into the bedroom to try and stay warm. The room clearly looked a bit run down there was tape in places. It just wasn’t what we were expecting from a suite.

Good size room but breakfast was a let down. No variety, jams and chocolate spreads left opened , no single dispensers. Made the setup look unclean unfortunately. Displayed cheese didn't look fresh. I believe I can get a better breakfast in a cheaper hotel.

Room needs a bit more tlc. Outdated. Very disappointed with breakfast. Stayed there for 3 nights and decided not to bother with breakfast the last night. It wasn’t worth it. When we asked for hot chocolate they told us to help ourselves from the lobby. But it was so sweet wasn’t worth it. Terrible smell in the sauna and the steam room was not working. Not happy with my stay and would not stay there again.

At the time of booking I was not made aware of a £7.50 daily parking fee and that as you pay the fee at reception they then inform you they will be taking a £50 deposit off your card \" just in case\".

The only clean part about this hotel was the reception area. It was full of rust in the rooms, dust and smelt like urine. Our tv constantly turned off whilst watching it and the blow dryer nearly singed all my hair off, I called reception and they advised I was doing it wrong although I had told them I was doing it correctly. A lady come up and pushed herself into the room to check the blow dryer. She realised what I was saying is correct and left to get me a replacement. There is signs saying”call if you need ice” which I done about 3 times and was told I needed to come down for it myself??? I also wanted to book on for breakfast whilst staying there but I was basically ushered out and was told “you need to pay” which I said I wanted to do when I entered the dining area. He told us we couldn’t and that we need to sit in the bar if we want coffee. We sat at the bar for around 25 minutes.. no one was there to serve us until I had to walk around to find someone to help. The stay was horrible, staff were rude, pool was freezing cold, full of drunks outside the hotel. Didn’t feel safe at all!

Room was spacious and clean but the tissue box was empty and there was no milk with the tea facilities...minor issues but part of a general lack of attention to detail. Only one lift working the whole weekend.
Spa had no availability and had been a reason for choosing this hotel.
NOTE: if you use the pool, check first as you may be turned away if there are too many people in, so you don't want to get changed first. Also, in your robe, after your swim, with dripping hair, you have to go through the bar area, lounge area and hotel main foyer, past the front doors, to get to the lifts or stairs.

Room was dated and tired. Set up for 2 people not 3, very disappointed!! Food was dreadful, I sent my fish and chips back twice it was cold, the fish was brown and the chips tasted odd, so I didn’t eat anything!! Service was very slow and poor, not a happy face in site. Overall a very unpleasant stay. I’m glad I only paid £44 for the room, definitely not worth £150

All the team were very helpful and welcoming. The bed was comfy and the room was nice and spacious, with all the expected amenities.

I particularly enjoyed the restaurant, which had a range of vegetarian options.

The only downside is that the heating in my room was on the blink, and so it did become very cold on my last night there.

There are two disabled parking bays by reception for blue badge holders, but these were often already occupied, so a few more would help as the guest car park is a little bit of a walk if you have mobility issues.

Overall I had a nice stay, and if my works takes me to the area again I would book again.

Very noisy when in the room. A family were in the room above. You could hear them all talking and the kids running about after 11.30 pm. The internal bathroom door handle was wobbling and only held on by one screw (reported). The bathroom extractor fan didn’t work. The room heating system was very noisy when it came on throughout the night. The bed was very comfortable though. Overall, the hotel in gym and other communal areas are very nice. However the rooms are dated and tired and in a good need of a spruce up.

The hotel is looking very tired, bathroom was clean but badly in need of updating.
Shower head didn’t work properly, bathroom door jammed when you closed it and was alarmingly difficult to open.
We only stayed for one night, there was a discarded room service tray with dirty dishes and food scraps on the floor a few doors down from our room. It was there when we arrived and still there when we left.

Nice spacious rooms but somewhat outdated, handle from chest of drawers just came off when I tried to opened. Nice staff but had to ask for towels as they gave us two bath towels only for 4 people. Nice breakfast with plenty choice. Shame about parking being charged even for guests with blue badge.

Mattress and pillows the most uncomfortable ive slept on, to the point im in pain with my neck and back, as is my husband.

Bathroom dated, shower poor. Toilet cisten constantly leaking, shower head leaked so no pressure.

TV would not connect to cast and no sky either.

The spa and gym were nice. There wasn't any gluten free options for dinner so we ate out. The parking wasn't free which was a shame. In our room the TV wasnt working properly and the bathroom sink started leaking after the stopper got stuck. We were moved to another room which resolved the problem. Overall the stay was ok due to the location which was near to the Costwold which we wanted to explore. The restaurants in the area were also good.

Breakfast was ok, lots of choice, plenty available and fully stocked.
Room was ok. Heater didn’t work well, turned itself off after 5 minutes and had to switch it off and on to work again for another 5 minutes but enough to get the room warmish to get ready.
You have to pay for parking now (which you didn’t used to have). Bar prices are on the expensive side (£7.50 for a pint of Guinness). We didn’t stay for dinner, looked at the menu and prices were high for what you get and decided to go to Miller & Carter instead (better value for money and was excellent).
Stayed here a few times in the past as it’s an easy location.

Very Dissapointing stay

Very poor experience and very upset considering I wanted to enjoy and relax. 1. Was put in a disbaled room and should of been a deluxe double, bathroom smelt musty and the curtain shower smelt. The shower only came out in the middle part and was very rusty, bed was average, room was very hot could not open the window and had lots of cobwebs. Restaurant only 3 tables for dinner and i was kept waiting for half and hour before they asked me what I wanted. I ordered a drink which never came until I asked and came after my food which was a started of prawns which were frozen and cooked and tasteless. Breakfast hot food not much and had not been changed in a while very dry, only 2 crossiants left just very poor for a 4 star hotel.

The hotel and its facilities are excellent and the staff were helpful and considerate throughout our stay. The room was clean and comfortable to stay in although it was a little warmer and stuffy at night. The air conditioning is a little noisy to leave when sleeping. Providing towelling robes was a nice touch but unfortunately both were a medium fit so although my partners fitted I being larger it was not suitable. Other than that we enjoyed our stay

Paper thin walls - could hear the occupants breathing on both sides!!
Land line was constantly ringing next door - nobody was there at the time to answer it, but it kept ringing - called Reception who said they would stop the ringing. They did - for 2 minutes - started again. Called again, stopped again for 3 minutes. Called again Reception said someone was in the room & was probably choosing not to answer it.
It drove us mad - on check out, we were asked if all was ok - we explained - again about the phone constantly ringing loudly & we were all but accused of lying about the phone - we weren’t. It truly drove us mad & we ended up leaving 2 hours earlier than planned to get away from the ringing. Not great service from the staff 😞

Great location, comfortable and spacious rooms. But seems to be a bit dated and needs refurb. Reasonable price. We found the pillows quite soft and not to our liking and could have been a bit firm. The location is really nice and short drive to some of the amneties and town centre. Near to some of the cotswold villages

The room was comfortable & clean. There was a wide selection of food for breakfast though very busy, noisy and awkward to access things due to the numbers of people, needs more organisation. The swimming pool, sauna and steam room were great. Enjoyed it.
The drainage in our sink didn’t work, we’ve informed the hotel. We think it’s a rip off for hotel guests to pay for parking, £7.50 per night. No biscuits in the room, that’d would’ve been a welcoming touch. Would stay again.

The property is advertised as 5 star hotel but definetely is not more than a 2/3 star hotel. The room was dated, bad odour in the room, bathroom fan not working and toilet roll hung wrong way round. The gym was like a public leisure centre and the hygiene was very poor. The staff were not pro- active at breakfast time in re- filling empty buffet pots/dishes. We had to ask the staff to replenish on a number of occasions. I would like a full refund as the pictures when booking does not describe the hotel when you see it!

Lovely hotel shame about scandalous parking fees!

We traveled as a couple as part of a longer journey. The hotel we thought was ideal for our stay. It was clean, well maintained, and very good leisure facilities. The only problem was parking. There was a £7:50 charge for overnight parking. We saw laybys outside the hotel that we could have used for free. We did hear other people complain about the scandalous parking charges too.
