Check in staff excellent & lobby with Starbucks & pub very useful indeed. Room comfortable & clean with a nice view. UF there was a negative, it would be the window frames which had not been cleaned ever & were dusty to the point of mould. However, this did not detract from an overall great stay.

Dusty room and facilities. Dirt on the carpets in hallways and stairs. Poor standards in the changing room and pool area. Again poor house keeping.
The breakfast was poor. Small selection, help yourself style, the bacon and hashbrown were soggy, only a questionable scrabbled egg. Stale croissants. yuk! £12.50 for breakfast, not worth the money. I wont be returning.

It was an ok stay. Rooms were a little underwhelming, my bed was wobbly and was held up with extra wood! Had to move rooms once as toilet blocked. Staff were not the friendliest. The bar food was minimal quantities with a high price, certainly nothing special! The location was great tho and easy for what we needed it for! Warm and quiet hotel. Good price.

We were not advised that breakfast closed at 0900 hrs

We arrived just after 0900 to find things being cleared away etc

We had paid for breakfast via the hotels.com website and so the hotel was not able to issue a refund

In respect of the room - it was clearly thought acceptable to be offered room with a dehumidifier to try and get rid of the damp smell. We eventually were allocated another room but why was it acceptable to be allocated a damp musty room in the first place

On the Saturday where we turn up we sign in and went our room we got changed and went out for dinner when when we got back from dinner we found spiders and ladybugs and in the room and on the bed also we had a bed which was two twins beds put together we kept on falling through the bed all night and on Sunday we went to town when we got back the cleaning lady had shut how door so hard that the lock came on and we couldn’t get in the room we had to wait for one hour we told the manager that we had to get ready for a dinner we was going with family the time we got in to the room and the manager said we were going to move out and in to another room when we got in the room we got washed and changed then we got to the dinner late it was all over so we went back to the room when I got back we didn’t want to stay in the hotel any more so we just got how stuff and left I will not be staying in this hotel anymore

I literally was checked-in and went to my room, only to discover the filthiest place I’ve ever seen, talkless of paid to stay in. I immediately vacated the room. It had stains and mould. I complained and was offered a ‘bigger’ room. I said the size wasn’t the issue and the lady Elena at the reception told me I could leave and I will be fully refunded. Only for Shaun who apparently is the manager to refund only half of my payment. I was booked to stay for 2 nights. Shaun refunded 1 night and said it’s because I refused a different room. Mind you, I travelled from far, had a restaurant reservation and elena said she can’t guarantee the cleaniliness of the other rooms. What was I to do?! I need my full refund asap! This is a fraudulent organisation if my refund is not fully processed. I spent less than 5mins in that filthy looking room. I am asthmatic and mould in a building can be very harmful to me and can kill me. So I don’t understand why this is difficult

Very large room for the 4 of us, and plenty of space to stretch out, one of the lights were flickering, it was reported, but advised no-one would be able to look at it until the week (we stayed over the weekend). Ironing board was broken, so the room was a little tired. Overall however, we were only here for 1 night, and it served as a useful stopover mid journey, and the beds were very comfortable.

Checking in and out was essentially done by self-service on screens at reception, although there was a staff member there to assist.
The Club room was spacious and clean. Large bed and comfortable bed. Good sound proofing.
We were there for an organised dinner. The staff were very helpful, the food was good and the drinks at the bar were not outrageously priced. They could have stocked a (Scottish) malt whisky, but otherwise there was plenty of choice. Overall, we had a great stay.
We did not use the gym or pool, but they looked to be well maintained.

Rooms very tired looking. TV ok. Accessible room poor with very low beds. Very limited number of disabled parking spaces. Noise from bar outside space below room 186 was excessive on 2 nights till after 11pm. Stayed in other new build Village hotels which were excellent however ic this was typical of all the old de vere hotel refits then would avoid in future.

Not perfect, but an enjoyable stay.

This hotel is look just a little tired now, but it's still buzzing with life. The room was comfortable, reception staff very helpful too. Breakfast was varied, though there was no porridge available on either of the two days we were there. On one of the days, my pain au chocolate seemed like it had been microwaved for far too long. When I bit into it, it was far too hard, and not at all fresh. Very disappointing. The next day though, the pastries were very fresh.

Mixed customer service - great receptionist though

Customer service from the female receptionist who checked me in on the 22nd & out on the 23rd was exceptional! She was welcoming, friendly & a great ambassador for the hotel.

On the contrary, service from the young barmaid was slapdash: she overflowed both my drinks & the previous customer. When she clearly wasn't doing anything about it, I asked for a napkin to wipe my glass & she reluctantly tore a small piece from a blue paper roll & wiped part of it, leaving me to pick up the still sticky glass. Maybe it's her personal bad attitude but bar staff should be taught the basics of customer care or shouldn't work in a service environment if they don't care about doing the basics of their job properly.

We live local to the hotel and our stay was because our house uninhabitable owing to major electrical work. We have used this hotel many times in the past for office Christmas parties, wedding receptions, dinners but it has clearly become very run down since then. We saw very few staff during our 3 night stay and housekeeping was non existent. One of the car parks was strewn with debris, old chairs, bedding etc. Breakfast was, to say the least, basic and the breakfast room was unstaffed as far as we could tell on all 3 mornings we were there. It appeared that the hotel clientele was mostly tradesmen. We have good memories of this hotel in past years but it has obviously suffered a steep decline. It is not a hotel for a leisure break.

I was at a festival up the road and this hotel was near by and reasonably priced. The breakfast was extra and that was a good price. Excellent priced at £12.50 and very good with a great selection. Very clean and the staff were very friendly. Check-in and out very simple. Wished I had time for the facility’s So good I might book it again end of month.

Although there was staff on hand to help, the check in system where you make your own keycard and do it all yourself is a little odd.
Hotel would have been very nice when built, but many areas need some fresh paint or an uplift now.
Bed was OK, although no mini fridge or bottled water in the room, which is always a downside for me.
Breakfast was so-so.
Didnt use what appears to be a wide range ofother facilities though as I was only there overnight for work.

Excellent Service from bar staff at The Grill - personal and professional.
Room 290 - bathroom needs a really good clean, limeacale removal and replace very aged beeding around bath edges. Unable to use plug in sink, got stuck. Room itself was excellent, working air-conditioning.
Breakfast - great selection, great layout. The staff were very professional, polite and friendly.

The hotel & facilities were very good, room was clean, bed comfortable, it was a hot & muggy night, obviously windows had restricted opening onto a busy road beyond and no air conditioning in the room. There was only 1 fan which was not enough in the circumstances which led to an uncomfortable sleepless night. Having at least 2 fans available in the room would maybe have helped for a more comfortable experience (giving the hotel cannot control the weather but could mitigate the effects within its room(s) moving forward). The staff were very welcoming & helpful and facilities were excellent including free parking.

I like the spacious room and bathroom. There is a bath tub if you want to soak and relax. The parking space is big. The check in and out facility is quick. And if you’re not used to the modern tech there is always someone to help you. There is a pub and restaurant on the ground floor level plus a Starbucks cafe.
As soon as you go in your room there is electricity. You don’t need to use your key card all the time when you are in your room to turn on the light or other electric equipment.
And the TV has got many channels that we normally watch. The staff are polite and smiling.

Our stay here was pleasant. And we got a quiet room on the 1st floor. Some wear and tear in the woodwork could do with fixing or touch ups. The lightin in our room was quite dark. One of the light fixtures was very dim so had to rely on the lamps. But wasnt really a bother.
Great location for visitng surrounding towns and great distance to some nice picturesque towns in the cotswolds. And if wanting some entertainment in the evening, it has cinema, bowling and a restaurant. Overall the stay was very nice.

Was staying with work colleagues and was contacted at 16:40 to be told room had technical issues and they had booked me into another hotel. Was not ideal. Other hotel was good. But had to travel so couldn’t socialise as was planned. Also couldn’t claim back same expense from employer as receipt was for less.

The rooms were dirty! I had to clean the bathroom before we could use it. The rooms had very poor lighting , thats when we could get it working. The breakfast was expensive for what they had to offer. Would not recommend at all.
