My family and I booked this hotel months in advance for a family wedding, and our stay was very disappointing.
Our first room was extremely hot, and the air conditioning did not work. We barely slept due to the heat. The next morning, maintenance couldn’t fix it, so we were moved to another room. Shortly after settling in, we were told that room was already reserved and had to move again.
By the third room we were frustrated and exhausted, only to find the TV didn’t work properly either.
The hotel felt outdated and poorly maintained. While the pool and location were fine, being moved three times in one stay was completely unacceptable. I am very disappointed and waiting to speak with management.

Upon check-in after a long flight from Edmonton, it took over half an hour to get my room. The staff was speaking in a foreign language and I could hardly understand him. He could not understand for the life of him that I had booked a room through Expedia. I showed him email confirmation and a receipt proving I purchased a room on my app and he kept saying it wasn’t booked. After a lengthy phone call with whom ever, he gets me a room finally only to discover a woman with service dogs is already in the room. Had to go back to the Front Desk and get a new room. Not a pleasant experience after a long flight and then the drive to the hotel at after 1:30 am.

King size bed very comfortable, a good sleep, cleanliness passible, could give a good spring clean up to the washroom floors and baseboards, tile grout dirty. And toilet needs to be adjusted as it’s wobbly, noisy when you finally sat on it. Rip up carpet in bedroom, or do a good shampoo to cleanse it.
We didn’t have the breakfast, and complimentary coffee in room isn’t very good, probably the coffee machine needs cleaning??. Staff one lady at entrance /check-in very pleasant. Would I stay here again, probably not.

We chose this hotel because Best Western markets itself as clean, safe, and family-friendly, with amenities like pools and breakfast. Unfortunately, this stay did not reflect that standard.

This is my second concerning experience with Best Western. During a previous stay at Best Western Plus Lamplighter Inn & Conference Centre, there were hazards including a protruding nail and unsafe pool conditions that led to a child being injured.

This stay was worse. A staff member knocked and entered our room before I could respond while I was inside with my children and half dressed. This was a serious breach of privacy and safety.

The room itself felt unsafe. The bathtub tap came off in our hands, flooring had visible gaps and uneven areas that could easily cause a fall, and electrical outlets were loose.

We were moved to a second room, however the conditions were similar, indicating this was not an isolated issue.

Cleanliness was unacceptable. There was thick dust throughout, and we found visible blood stains on the comforter that appeared to have been previously marked but not removed.

The pool area showed clear water damage and maintenance concerns.

Overall, this property appears poorly maintained, with patchwork repairs creating additional hazards. This environment is not consistent with Best Western’s values or a family-friendly brand and is hazardous to both guests and employees.

They have pet friendly rooms.
Their pet fee is $40/stay, which for a two day stay became $20/d. If it was $40 per day that would be unreasonable.

One morning I saw another couple in the hall with their shih tsu. I'd never heard the other dog at all. I opened the door so our shih tsu could meet him. I suspect the rooms are well insulated so any dog barks don't bother anyone.

Of course they had the capillary flow toxic usual carbohydrates too.
The Nescafe coffee machine had a variety of brews.
They had decaf coffee for a Keurig.

I hope this message finds you well. I recently stayed at your hotel and wanted to share my feedback regarding my experience.

I found the food options to be quite disappointing, especially the limited breakfast selection. On the first day, there was only bread, butter, jam, and cereal available. The second day was particularly disappointing as there were no homemade fries offered, and I noticed the absence of any fresh fruits throughout my stay.

Additionally, the toaster took an excessive amount of time to toast bread, which added to the frustration during breakfast.

Furthermore, I was disappointed to find that the swimming pool was closed for most of my stay, which was one of the amenities I was looking forward to. The elevator was also quite slow, making it inconvenient to move about the hotel.

Overall, my stay did not meet my expectations in relation to the price I paid. I hope you will take this feedback into consideration for future improvements.

** It must’ve flooded next-door so where TV stand was there was a lot of water damage on that wall, along baseboard area that didn’t look too attractive.

The staff were great, but the hotel is a dump and literally falling apart at the seams with leaks/water damage everywhere and everything was very old and run down. Our toilet flooded our room and the toilet in our new room ran non stop. Breakfast was available but the food was stale and awful. Kitchen lady was so nice and polite though. Other than the staff, our family could not get out of there fast enough!

The room it was very clean and enough space the only one problem in the room was the toilet bowl that it wasn’t flushing well, about the staff the front desk woman that we meet for the check in and check out she wasn’t kind with us very poor service no eye contact with customer not smiling we where like invisible to her she just gave us the keys and without welcoming us very poor reception. But the overnight service it was good I mean, with others staff that replaced her when she left.

The toilets didn't flush, even after having to plung the toilet ourelves. The cleaners didn't clean the bathroom sink, towls had hair in them. The shower curtian was dirty from previous stay, so they obviously didnt wash them in between clients. Towels didn't match, tv's were so old they were fuzzy and unclear so watching a movie in the room was impossoble, the remotes barely changed the channels. Spider nests in the ceilings and cobwebs. For what we paid for the stay, it should have been way better.

Our stay was disappointing. The hotel feels very dark, dingy, and extremely dated. The front desk staff were polite on the surface but noticeably rude and unhelpful, and communication was difficult as they barely spoke English.

Breakfast was also below standard — very bland, with greasy sausages, eggs all stuck together, and overall poor-quality options. You can see shortcuts everywhere, and it shows in the quality of the rooms, service, and amenities.

Would not stay here again.

The beds were comfortable but the shower had very little pressure. The toilet got flogged just from toilet paper and when we asked for a plunger, the first one was worthless so I had to call down to see if the had a different one. Everything was clean and most of the staff was nice. There was one woman at the front desk who would stare us down and give us dirty looks each time we came by. When we asked for the manager she didn’t even want to give us contact information. We had to demand she at least give us an email. Aside from her, everyone else was super nice.

Got ripped off from the start. Price was posted one thing online all fees and taxes then they charged some hidden $30+ fee with no real explanation. Got to the room and it smelt like a homeless person lived there and next door there was a dog barking nonstop. I asked to be switched to another king sized bed suite but non were available away from the barking dog on the animal floor (1st floor). So we got downgraded to a regular room with no stove for cooking so we had to eat out every meal except for breakfast they offered continental. The room was much nicer and cleaner that we got moved to on the 4th floor I will say how that was a pleasant surprise however they refused to refund the difference in over charge which was about $140 instead they offered a consolation refund of $70. I’m not please with being overcharged and offered the worst offerings for my young family. The breakfast was decent most days. The coffee machine is excellent.

Travelled across Canada stayed at best western pluses sad to say this one is not up to par ! You can definitely tell it’s an older one but cleanliness should be a top priority . The carpet was dirty the bathroom had the tub drain in the soap dish the mirror was streaky dirty like wiped down with a dirty rag as well as the lamps and fixtures dusty and streaky. Also the complimentary bathroom lotion appeared to be previously used. Overall the cleanliness was sub par! The air conditioner was musty smelling which down graded the experience more !
