First room had a leaky ceiling that saturated the carpet in the vanity area of the room. Second room smelled like stale cigar smoke. Third room was a charm and very comfortable. Shower faucet was loose but functional. Nice breakfast…kudos to the cook and the staff for keeping the breakfast room clean!! First floor hallway also had an area of the hall carpet that was sopping wet.

One thing that caught my attention was that the breakfast situation is not optimzed. The information states that breakfast is served at 7:00 however while I was there, the staff where setting up the breakfast at 7:00… should have been ready at 6:45. Also the toaster is set before the bread selection in the lineup causing added traffic and the toaster could be upgraded to a cafeteria toaster to enable a greater volume (through put). We had a baseball team while we were there and the breakfast service was not taylored to support high volume of people

I did not have a great experience during my one night stay. I do want to mention the staff were very friendly, and the employee working that evening was doing her best to help everyone while managing the front desk alone. When I arrived, the room was warm so I turned on the A/C and left for dinner. When I returned, the room was 30°C. The front desk reset the breakers and offered a fan but the room only got hotter. I was traveling with my 9 month old baby and asked to switch rooms but was told they were fully booked. I then requested to check out and receive a full refund. As I packed with my baby being tired and very fussy they called back to say a new room was now available and a refund would not be issued as the new room was an upgrade. The second room was cooler but the toilet was dirty and had not been flushed. The TV also didn’t work. I returned to the front desk because I wanted to be sure the room had been cleaned since I have a baby. The staff assured me it had and told me to speak with the manager in the morning to explain my situation. In the morning the manager said they still could only offer a $40 discount and a complimentary future stay. Since I don’t wish to return after this experience, that solution wasn’t helpful. My baby didn’t get to sleep until 11:30 p.m and the inconvenience of switching rooms so late, along with concerns about the cleanliness of the second room made this a terrible experience. I don’t feel a $40 discount was adequate compensation.

We arrived at 8:30. We were tired and just wanted get our room and go to sleep.
The front desk person was rude and very disrespectful. She was no help what so ever.
We will not recommend this hotel to anyone and if asked will tell them to go anywhere else but there.
Hotel was clean.
Breakfast was so disappointing that we just left and went to Tim Hortons to eat breakfast.
After lying $262 for one night stay it was no where near worth the money we were charged.

Neither of the two front desk staff we interacted with were very friendly. The bathroom near the lobby had just been mopped and there was no wet floor sign, leading me to go flying when I walked in.

The room itself was nice, but the ac spent all night turning off and loudly back on.

The location near the Bay in Sault Ste. Marie was great. We were able to walk over to the Bay boardwalk. Our room was good , clean and comfortable. The overall hotel and room could do with a refresh as it looked dated. Parking was a bit of a challenge and the hotel was hard to find due to one way streets etc in the area. I would recommend this hotel as it was comfortable and clean.

Liked the seperste bedroom from the living area. Liked the 2 doors to the bathroom. There was a large black garbage bag in our hallway from Saturday morning until Monday afternoon. I told 1 housekeeper and two front desk staff about it and they all said they would look after it immediately. Nothing happened.

On my first night, the room provided contained a hidden structural defect—the fabric dust cover on the underside of the boxspring had a long tear in it. My registered pet entered the boxspring through this tear and got trapped inside the frame, requiring an emergency extraction by myself and a staff member and an immediate room relocation. When I requested a refund of my pet fee and my first night's stay due to this dangerous maintenance failure, management issued a written response denying liability, claiming the incident was my fault because my animal was 'allowed out' inside the guest room. The hotel room was rented explicitly so a registered pet could occupy the space; guests cannot be expected to inspect the underside of a bed for hidden structural traps. Unprofessional management and unsafe facility maintenance.

They hadn’t switched HVAC to summer mode so AC wasn’t working. Room was very hot and was tough to sleep in. Figure that is really the only reason to stay at the hotel so, kind of an issue. They did have an automatic pancake maker so that was cool (pun intended).🙂

We came with our dogs so this write up is to be expected. We had two dogs and unfortunately we were in the ‘dog’ room for obvious reasons. The issue was not cleanliness, it was the over powering of deodorizer because so many animals had been there. They should really crop the curtains so animals can pee on them. They could put a tile floor instead of carpet which would avoid the need to over deodorize.

The other issue was the bed. We have stayed here many times before without issue but this time we both woke up broken! Again to be expected in the ‘dog’ room.

This was not to be mean but was also for the owners because they are very nice and like I said it is our go to place when we are in Whitby.

Due to fluctuations in outside temperature, the hotel AC had not yet been activated. The room was uncomfortably hot (26C). I believe it is prudent for the hotel to notify customers in advance of this prior to locking in the reservation. Had I known, I would have made alternative reservations. I got a fan and an apology from the hotel either of which was satisfactory. Disappointed.

The young woman behind the desk when I checked in was, unfortunately, very unpleasant. Not only that, but there were a number of people waiting and she was not at all efficient in handling the crowd. I chose to come to this hotel and stay here. So when your staff is unpleasant, I will choose to go to any of the other hotels that are so close to yours along that stretch of the 401. I am a regular guest at your hotel, so this is very unfortunate. Thanks for your time.

However, our overall experience was disappointing. The room was clean, but the strong smell of bleach was unpleasant. There was also a constant drip from the bathtub faucet, and the bed was extremely squeaky, which made it hard to rest.
The room temperature was another issue — it was quite cold, and adjusting the thermostat didn’t seem to make any difference. On top of that, noise from the nearby highway was very disruptive.
Unfortunately, there was also a group in the next room playing loud music and laughing late into the night (around 1 a.m.), which was very disturbing. We had to contact the concierge to address the situation.
Overall, not a great stay and quite disappointing.

I stayed here for about a month and overall had a very good experience. The customer service was excellent, the facilities were well maintained, and they were especially accommodating with pets, which made a long stay much easier. The rooms are very nice and comfortable, breakfast is average, the beds are decent, and having an on‑site laundry facility was very convenient for an extended stay.
