Our room was spacious and bright with excellent blackout curtains for night. Bed comfortable with bed linens and comforters that are fully washable (no worries who or what was previously on the bedspread 😉.) Room well maintained. Breakfast is good for a complementary breakfast — included hot options and the coffee was actually good.
Lots of parking and greenery around the building. Staff welcoming and every staff member greeted and smiled when passing them is the hallway.
Rooms quiet despite location between highway and train. You can hear a rumbling when trains pass but the windows muffle the sound quite well. Room doors can be noisy when closing but that’s a usual hotel issue.
Easy access from 401 or GO / VIA train station.
Bottom line: not the Ritz but great value for the money.

When arriving, the front doesn’t look very good. There are overgrown trees, vines growing up the building and the front steps didn’t look very nice. We wanted to check in early but was told there was a $45 early check in fee and our room was ready. We only wanted to drop OFF our suitcases. Not very good PR.
We checked in around 9pm and was pleasantly surprised when we drove around the back of the building to find a nicely renovated exterior. Our room was nice with a panelled floor, two fridges, a Keurig coffee maker (only 2 k-cups for 3 guests) and a microwave. The beds were comfortable.
Breakfast was ok. The food and dining room were small. You need to get there early to have a good selection. Only disappointment was the coffee (very weak).

All four elevator bars (from inside are loose and broken) both chairs in room were wobbly as well as the desk .. looked like a 4 year old painted the bathroom .. shower curtain does not work water splashes on bathroom floor … toilet sounds like jet engine … pretty much all channels on tv did not work.
wendy
The hallways smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. When asked if this was a smoke free hotel they told us yes but people still smoke anyways. Very unpleasant as you are walking to your room. When we entered the first room we were assigned, there was a big bug that scampered across the floor. We went back to reception and were given another room. There was as someone’s long black hair on both queen bedcovers. There were no plates at breakfast the next day. We had to wait. Then no coffee at 8:45am. It was over twenty minutes. We asked at the front desk for coffee and about ten minutes later they brought out coffee that was more like weak muddy water. Overall a very disappointing stay.

Staff were very helpful. Rooms quiet. Breakfast selection was good although dining space is not optimal.
Patrick
Service was great A/c in 3 rooms did not work

Clean and Niki who works on the breakfast area is super helpful. We saw her helping everyone and even deliver food to the table for our kid although it is suppose to be self serve.

Hotel très propre et bien entretenu. Nous sommes restés 1 nuit et tout était parfait. Bien situé et facile de voyager vers Toronto avec la gare de train à proximité. Je recommande cet endroit et n’hésiterai pas à y retourner.
Christopher
Good hot breakfast and coffee machine. Our room had some odd issues with cold water and getting AC to come on at a reasonable temperature. Might have just been bad luck. Overall it was a decent place.

Breakfast wasn't the best but was ok. The sign said sausage or bacon and both mornings only had sausage. Was disappointing.
Sean
Room was ok. Gym hours not suitable for any person on business. hallways dark
Kim
The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast met our needs. The location was definitely a selling point - being close to stores (including the mall), as well as the Oshawa Go Station and the highway. Will definitely stay here again in the future.

I’ve stayed here a few times over the years and I’ve only ever gotten a room on the first floor, which is kind of like the basement although there is access to the parking lot I guess the property is built into the side of a hill if that makes any sense. Anyway, this time my room was quite obviously updated compared to the last few times I stayed so I don’t know if they’re going room by room or what but this room was refurbished in the last year or two is my guess. All in all I had a good rest and was comfortable. There was a lot of noise in the hallway around midnight. It lasted about 15 minutes. I don’t know what it was. The breakfast was OK. They have a great coffee machine.
Blythe
Clean, good staff, excellent breakfast.
Zabih
We had a great stay at this property. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The check-in process was easy and everything was well organized. The location was convenient and quiet, which made our stay relaxing. I would definitely recommend this place to other travelers.
Shane
The room was clean, staff was very friendly. Only complaint would be its next to a factory so a lot of noisy trains all day and night.
But good place!

Great affordable place to stay if you need to just stop for the night. It's no 5 star, but good.

Great place for affordability and convenience if you're traveling for work as i was, but far from a five star, not that i was assuming it would have been.
I'd stay again.

Staff spoke way too quickly, making them hard to understand. And NO LAUNDRY Facilities contrary to them claiming there’s laundry and dry cleaning. I picked this hotel specifically so I could wash my babies clothes. Was very disappointed to see they flat out lied.
Eni
Yes it was. Staff was friendly and accomodating especially Alex. Service was good for our short stay.

Showing its age. Clean, comfortable though. They need boot trays and carpets at the entrances to the rooms. The tile is terrible for wet or snowy/dirty boots.
Breakfast the first morning was cold.

Great check in - helpful staff. Clean!

Staying with a school volleyball team and a fire alarm went off at 7am. Apparently it was just a test, but that experience was not fun at all.

The room was fine but the tv went in and out a lot and the hot water was not consistent, we were there for 4 nights and 5 days so I would recommend telling your guests about the tv situation before checking in

Room was fine. TV channel selection is poor. No option to stream. Fitness center a 3/5
Michelle
Very good service and cleanliness breakfast was horrible
Justin
The television connection was poor. Only 2-3 channels come in. All others said no signal. Of the 2-3 channels received, they kept dropping due to poor signal.
The room was cold upon check in. Thermostat was set to Heat to 60 degrees.
The beverage fridge in the room kept making thumping noises every 10-15 minutes. There was also a loud mechanical rumble every hour or so which may be related to the boiler or mechanical system.
The event room doors were open adjacent the check-in desk. The event room was being used or storage of spare mattresses and furniture. Didn't make the best first impression.
The front desk check in clerk was great. Very helpful and pleasant.
Overall, the negatives can be justified by the low cost per night. It is an old refurbished hotel, and I would suspect it would require a lot of service to upkeep and the Owners are trying to keep maintenance costs down by keeping room heat to a minimum.

Age of the hotel is evident. Front entrance was difficult . Lots of stairs no handrails.
Staff was great and made up for any shortcomings of the infrastructure.

Very nice rooms and staff

The staff tries hard so give them a chance they try to get things right. The hotel is dated but they make the most, with what they have.
Jennifer
Great breakfast, clean room, quiet stay.
Candace
AC did not work and was so noisy. There was NO hot water on the first night. The Staff were amazing and incredibly helpful
Laura
The staff were the absolute best. From check in, to breakfast greetings to trying to accommodate a bunch of young kids while keeping their other guests happy too, the staff and general manager were amazing. Really made for a fabulous stay.
Special shout out to Prabal (may have the spelling wrong). He was so genuine and provided amazing hospitality!
Thank you !! Highly recommend.

Thanks for a great stay. Our room was fantastic and very clean. The staff was fabulous. Particularly the ladies who ran the breakfast. They were so kind, constantly restocking and the food was great too.
The night front desk agent Parbal was amazing he was so kind and you could tell he enjoyed his job. He helped us when we needed something and always had a smile on his face! Thanks for great stay. If we ever stay in Oshawa again we will for sure stay at the Best Western!

Easy check-in. Room was very clean and comfortable. Great quiet hotel.
Callum
stained sheets, stained pillow case, generally gross. If I get bed bugs in the next two weeks, I'll know why!
Tyler
The linens and bed were decent. Clean and comfortable. But the floors were quite dirty throughout. There were public hairs on the bathroom floor.
If we weren’t there literally just to sleep and leave, I wouldn’t have stayed.
