Rooms were comfortable and a good size. Clean and presentable.
Best thing about the stay was the friendliness of the staff.

Overpriced.

We stay at this hotel as we travel from Wales to see family and it’s the only hotel in the area which accepts dogs. I really don’t mind the hotel for a quick overnight. It’s just okay. I do think it’s very overpriced for what it is. I have between 60 and 99 hotel nights a year and for this price have stayed in much nicer places. The hotel is very dated and a little unloved. It’s adequate as opposed to comfortable. I will say though the staff are always really friendly and nice which is a credit.

Friendly and welcoming staff, excellent food, nice bar and dining room. We booked the deluxe room, the bed was huge! With steps to climb into it, it was very warm and comfortable. I felt the room was good value for money and would stay again.

Lovely short stay at this gem of a hotel.
The staff were all so friendly & really helpful throughout our stay. We were contacted beforehand to see if we wished to dine in on our arrival which was very handy. Lovely fresh food was most welcome after a long drive.
The bedroom & bathroom were spotlessly clean. Secure parking was available.
We would definitely stop here again !

We were here for my father's funeral and held his wake in the function room, and stayed overnight for two days.
Nothing was too much trouble for the hotel who made a difficult time much easier to bear.

A bit penny pinching for deluxe

The hotel is lovely the staff are polite and chatty. The owner makes some lovely garden ornaments that are for sale and honey which is a nice touch.
Our evening meal was delicious, our breakfast was small but tasty. We stayed in the deluxe room, which was lovely but being deluxe it would have been nice for it to have included bubble bath shampoo etc there was a body wash, but you really want bubbles in the bath.
There was no dry rose wine only sweet they said the Zinfandel was dry but I could only buy a bottle it was Very sweet.
The staff knew we were on honeymoon and didn’t even offer a complimentary drink, which kind of let them down a bit.
That aside a lovely stay, but slightly over priced in my opinion.

My room was excellent, very spacious with a lovely view.
The restaurant food was of good quality and fresh, the lady waitress was friendly and professional.

Disappointed with condition and certainly didn’t think it was value for money. Bedroom, dining room and sitting area was really jaded and vase of dead flowers in reception kind of summed that up. Food was also very poor

This quaint hotel is a short, easy 10-minute walk from downtown Melton-Mowbray (plan to walk if you don't have your own car, as Uber hasn't found Melton yet and cabs are hard to come by at short notice). The grounds are well kept. Our room had a large, comfortable four-poster bed, and the bathroom was nicely outfitted with a large tub and shower attachment. The dining area looks out on the grounds and is bright and airy. We had a full English breakfast that was very good. All staff - front desk, housekeeping, kitchen - were helpful, friendly, and welcoming.

Amazing Staff!

We really enjoyed our stay and will be returning in the future. All the staff were friendly, polite and helpful.

Stayed in the annex not the main building. Felt like I was staying in an elderly relatives front room. Very dated Deco... Wicker furniture and carpet from the 80's

The room had access to a small garden/patio but it was over grown with brambles and would be totally unusable.

Main hotel was ok and provided a nice quality breakfast.

Would probably just stay in the premier Inn in town if I went back.

This is a small hotel and very relaxing. The staff were friendly. We had dinner and lunch both were excellent. The garden was beautiful. Our room was one of the nicest we have ever stayed in.
Just two small points: a small fridge in the room with fresh mlk/water would be nice and a choice of pillows as we both found those provided were very hard.

A gem of a hotel

Very welcoming reception, trouble free arrival, and a really lovely hotel. One with twists and turns before you get to your room and in a good way. Our room and bathroom was spotless, beautifully decorated with many nice features.

Very nice 3 star hotel. Excellent staff in every way, superb food at a fair price.
Room was fine - clean and good size. They immediately turned up the heating as it was a bit chilly. Public area are fine although typical of this type of hotel. Very neat and clean.

Disappointing stay

This was not a great stay. The place smells musty. The room was cold when we went in sobhad to wait fornthe radiators to heat up. The bed was very comfy.
The shower was aweful it trickled out.
The breakfast was poor. Bacon had been cooked and then reheated. Coffee was not nice. Service non existant.
Overall very disappointing and will not be coming back or recommending.
Staying at the Premiere Inn next time. At least we will get a decent shower as well as a comfy bed for half the price.

Lovely country type hotel

Lovely hotel, very friendly staff with beautiful grounds.
Also superb meals with ample portions.
You don’t have to be on business, it is ideal for families, leisure or even dog owners.
Close to Melton Mowbray town centre about a fit 10 minute walk.
My bed was incredibly comfortable and quite frankly one of the best I’ve ever slept in.
Brilliant staff and it’s not often I want to praise them as much as the team working there. Hope to stay there again.
