This is the 3rd time we have stayed here due to the proximity of our destination. Generally I was happy with the room, with clean bedding and towels etc. I was especially pleased that the pool and area had been cleaned up and I was able to have a swim.
However the property needs some TLC which I am told is planned. Some small things would have made the stay better such as a box of tissues. A microwave was supplied but no bowls, plates or spoons for breakfast or cups of tea. Wooden knives and forks don't \"cut it\"! More hooks etc for towels and clothes in bathroom would have been handy. I look forward to another visit with some of these amenities supplied.

Very quiet place to stay even when most of the hotel was booked out. Parking straight outside the room especially with large 4wd. Great location to get around to do your business activites and everything was good in the hotel room. Clean, quiet and everthing worked and I would stay there again next time going to Sydney.

The premises are adequate, clean, tidy and available when I arrived. However, on arrival I was met with a demand to provide a credit card and a $2 fee \"may be charged.\" I objected to this but was told it was necessary and the charge would not be charged. So I complied, only to find that the $2 fee was charged. Although this is a lot less than a cup of coffee I object strongly to such conduct. So it will be a long time before I stay with Checkers again, if ever.

Hotel was being used as a film set and I have no idea why you left it up on your site. I couldn’t find reception then got directed to a spot way away from my room . Was given a free dinner for all the issues and the Palms restaurant was excellent. Rooms are way past a need for being renovated.

We arrived to the property and could see that they were chopping down trees and shrub. There was noisy drilling while I was at the check in desk. I was told we could stay in the room we booked or stay in a room on the ground floor as they were “Painting the roof and checking for leaks” the following day. We decided to stay in the original room. The extractor fan in the bathroom didn’t work and the clothes line over the bathtub broke. The website says that they do breakfast and dinner. That was not correct. I asked about that the following day. What was happening is that three weeks before, The Palms, which appears to be a garden centre, that is in front of the hotel had bought it. So instead of renovating the hotel, then opening it back up, they were operating while doing renovations. The website should’ve been updated. It’s a lot more expensive if booked directly through them. I’m relieved I didn’t.

The previous occupant had left the windows open in the rain, so my room had wet carpets. The staff were great about it and I had a new room pronto. The place is older, in a charming way, a little run-down in places but it'll be here for a long time to come and the condition is fine given the price range. It's on a main road but far enough and set below the road's level, so the room was perfectly quiet. Comfy bed too.
