Way better than initial appearances suggested. Easy check-in and the bar had my favorite cocktails. I had a very nice meal all without stepping out the door.
The bed was very comfortable
The shower a bit small but made up for with great water pressure which is unusual in modern day hotels.
Little bit of road noise but didn’t stop me sleeping.
Ear plugs provided just in case.
All in all excellent and would defo come back.

Very nice room, great location and helpful staff. Location very close to Pymble station. Hotel nestled between train line and highway. Train and road noise noticeable but not annoying. Ear plugs were supplied in room but not needed. I would like to have had an exhaust fan in the ensuite, or room deodoriser at least.

Be Aware, this hotel is net to a major highway and train line so it is quite noisy. apart from that it is a no frills, clean and no hassle stay. It's rooms over a pub, pub is busy and has pub grub, off street parking.
Bonus complimentary drink in the bar and 10% off meals in the pub.

Staff really friendly and helpful. Parking is available and free. WiFi wasn’t the best. Good shops opposite for breakfast/sandwiches etc as no breakfast offered at the hotel. Evening food on the Sunday was an excellent roast chicken. Only negative is that you can’t open a window and I do like fresh air.

Loved the art deco ambience. Check in easy, offer to carry my bags up the stairs much appreciated, the free drink and meal discount persuaded me to eat-in and have an earlier night. With trains so convenient I will be back, rather than stay in town with much more exorbitant prices.

It’s a bar with rooms for crashing. Quite family-hostile. Basically on the highway so extreme traffic noise especially longhaul trucks flooring it up the hill. But can still hear the pounding music downstairs!

Checkin is weird. Clerk/bartender gives you ticket for a drink at the bar then scolds your daughter that kids are not allowed anywhere except in the room or on the 3 flights of stairs up to the room —“its the law!” she barks at your sleepy family.

Oh also sink is messed up. Bathroom has sign saying you will be fined if you have bathroom door open when showering. Lovely.

How does a place like this get a decent review score? Wish you could rely on the reviews and score. Trust this one and spare yourself the experience .

Nice hotel - NOT for guest with Disabilities

no information indicated to get to the lobby ( 3 external stone steps) & there is 1+1/2 stair well to get to the room upsatairs. I have requested \"no steps/ stairs and room to be on lobby level which is what I always requested when I search and book my room. I have had double knee replacements & low vision blindness. The hotel has no cancel policy and I couldn't cancel when I arrived at the hotel.
Very comfortable room but NOT for guest with disabilities!!! I struggled going up to the room and nearly fell down twice down the stairs. Te check in receptionist helped us carry our luggage on check in but we had to carry our luggage upon checkout

The bed is fairly in comfortable.
The aircon was very noisey and then blew up which sucked as it was hot.
Probably wouldn’t stay here again.
Pros were there is a bistro down stairs so easy to get dinner.

Comfortable room and stay for an overnight to attend an event in Sydney. If you are a light sleeper you will need the earplugs provided and maybe a sleeping pill, it overlooks the old Pacific Highway. These things used my partner who is a light sleeper slept well. ONe hint. If you are walking from the station, after existing the underpass on the path do a left turn and come up onto the highway, don't continue in the direction of PLC. Google doesnt give this level of detail.

Lovely to see this \"grand old lady of Pymble\" tastefully renovated: old world charm with modern comforts. Yes, the traffic can be noisy but the room is comfortable, the staff friendly, food good (the bruschetta and ceasar salad our favourites!). Location is very convenient, hop on the train for a few minutes for the boutiques of Turramurra, Wahroonga or Gordon, or head into the city. Why bother with a car? (Check with the hotel if you do have issues with mobility though.). We enjoyed our stay!

The traffic noise in room 1 was a bit too loud, I had to wear earplugs as I’m not used to nighttime traffic noise. I’ve stayed there before but in a different room and it was much quieter.

It’s ok, it’s clean and there’s food options. Staff were lovely and food delivery was quick but the noise was unbearable. Unfortunately woken up at 1am with a sharp alarm downstairs which went on for a very long time. To add insult to injury I was woken up before 8am by tradies shouting at each other and then a hammer drill drilling into the walls and ceiling. It was so loud and distressing I had to pack up and leave. Guests expect quiet enjoyment and privacy, not to wake up feeling like they’re in a war zone.

Great location for us, close to transport links and shops. Surprisingly quiet, excellent rainhead shower and the bed was pretty comfy. A lovely surprise was that the room was serviced during our 2 night stay. The only thing that I could fault was the aircon which was not able to cool the room down during some unseasonably hot weather. Hope someone reads this and rectifies or checks before summer holidays! We will stay again.

Very easy and friendly checkin. Very surprised to see a heritage listed hotel. However when we got to our room, it was very modern and the en-suite bathroom was huge! Complimentary bottled water, WiFi, toiletries, and earplugs. I thought it would be a bit noisy being on the Pacific Hwy and with the rail line behind. However the rooms were almost soundproof and earplugs were not needed. Very happy with our 2 night stay and would definitely stay there again.

Unfortunately, the bed had bed-bugs. Horrible itchiness afterwords. The steak was dry as a shoe-sole, chips were cold and seemingly just re-heated. Fantastic pepper sauce though.
Very disappointed as I had been many times back in time with my wife and meal was always absolutely great! Was not the same now. The waitress and waiter at dinner time, absolutely on their best! Kudos to them.

Some Positives, Some Negatives.

Good Points: Very friendly and helpful staff. Shops opposite and near to train station if you need this. Parking onsite although in busy times, you might not be able to get a space. Food in the restaurant for lunch and dinner was very good.
Bathroom very nice and the place is very clean.
Negatives: I hated my room. Room 11 is tiny. I'm so glad my husband was not with me. The TV is on the right hand wall instead of on the opposite wall. You have to crank your neck to watch it. I don't recommend Room 11 at all. When I booked, this tiny room was not shown in the photos at all. So I booked, expecting simple things like bedside tables - the room was too small for anything at all. The bed was underneath the 'windows' although these are covered in frosted glass meaning that you have no windows, can't open anything at all.

Would I stay here again? Yes, only if I didn't get such an awful room.

The room seemed to be clean. Check in was smooth although a little confusing since there was no proper check in counter. I had to go ask at the bar. The other thing that wasn't noted in the description is, there is no lifts and you have to walk up the stairs to get to your room. So if you have difficulty with stairs, please take note. Entering the room, I noticed 2 packets of ear plugs! However I didn't find the room to be that noisy. I had the room facing Pacific Highway. Being a long weekend, it was quite ok. I removed 1 star from the review because I had to dispose a cockroach in the bathroom on the last night. The other thing to note is the lack of ventilation in the bathrooms. If you have a hot shower, it takes time to clear and apparently from the warning sign, it might trigger the smoke detector! Otherwise it was an ok hotel for the money spend. I slept well and it was easy to get to.

We booked a studio room, with a double bed and a single bed, due to problems in their reservation system, they gave us a double room, which was uncomfortable for us. All the windows in the bedroom and bathroom are sealed, without the possibility of being opened, to stop the sound of the highway, but yes or yes, you must use the air conditioning.

Nightcap at Pymble is a regular hotel for us to stay in. The location and free parking is brilliant, not to upstage the affordability and always friendly, supportive staff.
Great food and the free welcome drink is just an extra bonus for an already exceptional stay.

Bedroom was small but clean, and the bathroom - while compact - had been refurbished. Ideal for a one night stopover. Depending on room you will get some traffic noise, although the hotel does provide earplugs which came in useful. Advantage of being above the hotel is that the bar is actually an older style, not crowded, and a decent place to spend a few hours in so you don't need to sit in the bedroom. There were two bedside tables in the room, a better idea may be one bedside table and a chair. The food menu is limited but the food was good for the price. Onsite parking is limited, so be prepared to wait a few minutes for another guest to leave.
