Nice basic accommodation, a short walk to the train station and all shops, restaurants and doctors. Clean. very friendly and helpful staff, especially Alisha, more personal than big hotels. It is between the railway and a busy road. Our room faced the railway which didn’t bother us and the cockatoos came to visit in the mornings.

It was exactly as advertised however on arrival there was a sign outside with a much cheaper room rate 😳. Walkable from station. Basically as hour from standing up in the plane to arriving for checking (carry on only), 30mins into the city. Great option.

Nice little place, very close to train line, very very noisy. People with light sleep will find it difficult. Overall not too bad. Connecting to the receptionist phone the 1300 was a big challenge!

The Seranin Gordon is an affordable hotel, so don't expect the Ritz and you will be happy with it. Gordon is a beautiful and safe suburb of Sydney and there are shops there with everything and all the services you could need. In addition, there are many restaurants catering to a wide range of tastes. Transportation there is easy on the trains, although it would be great if the hotel was a little closer to the station. It's a less than 10 minute walk from the train station to the hotel, all on paved sidewalks, but it does take a bit of time. At least to get to the station, there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel, but it's probably faster just to walk it.

The room I had was clean and on the Pacific Highway side of the hotel. This meant there was a small amount of road noise, but it didn't disturb my sleep or anything else. It wasn't huge, but was fine for one person and everything was clean. There was a refrigerator, kitchen sink and microwave along with cutlery and crockery. Some people might complain that the room was not serviced every day, but that doesn't bother me at all. Everything was modern and worked reasonably well. The shower was far better than the average hotel shower with abundant hot water.

In summary, the Seranin Gordon is clean, convenient and reasonably priced. That ticks all the boxes for me and I'd happily stay there again.

The motel should have double glazed windows to prevent the traffic noise from coming in. The fact that there was no one at the reception desk the last two times that I stayed there made me think there were no staff on site and this is a fire and safety risk.

Enjoyed our stay

This is our third time staying at Seranin Gordon and we appreciate the facilities at the hotel. Our daughter and family live near and it is very convenient for visiting and also getting to the city. We find the staff very friendly and helpful and were pleased to see Alishia again. Looking forward to our stay again next year.

Good, but plenty of room for improvement

Location is good, you soon get used to either the trains or traffic. Its there but not intusive. The property is newish but was built on the cheap, lots of water pooling and worn out inclusions like windows, carpets, doors. Some furnishings have not held up well. The staff are the biggest asset, they can't do enough, but in saying that, they state check out is between 10 and 11 am, the door knocking begins at 9.30 am and gets intrusive by 10.30 am. Initial access to the building can be tricky for out of towners. Theres some good food places near by. Overall it is good, hopefully they dont mess up your booking. That's a whole review right there, but Ill keep that between me and the staff as they worked hard sorting out someone elses stuff up.

Grest stay all round

Very comfortable and close to a railway station into Sydney cbd. Short walk to Gordon shops and station.
On the highway but quiet. Underground parking available. We always stay gere when we visit family in Sydney.

Proximity for travellers as it’s just along major road like the Pacific motorway as well as from food shops and petrol stations. Has ample veranda or balcony space that has view of trees and birds like the friendly cockatoos which made our overnight stay unique and special.

The property had a main road at the front, a railway at the back and a funeral parlor across the road.
Checkin was unattended so I had to ring to checkin, however the lady was very nice when she came.
The property had a funny smell about it, and some of the common areas were under repair and on display.
Room was great but noisy, and bed was xlent.

I have just come back to Melbourne and looked at my bank statement and I have been overcharged for parking $5 per day. On wotif it’s advertised as $10 and I was charged $15 per day.
Also our room was never serviced and we stayed 2 nights however it’s advertised it’s done daily.

Tv in room was dated. New tv’s are cheap but smart to add our own netflix easily. I personally would prefer a percolator coffee machine over instant….beds super comfy in deluxe room

A gem in a good neighbourhood

Loved the hospitality shown by the staff. Always clean and neat. Nice rooms with a great desk for me to focus on my work. Close to train station and super market and local restaurants. This is in a nice area of Sydney where there is no trouble. Kitchen is perfect to be able to cook own meals and you also have own microwave sink and dishes to make yourself feel comfortable.

While the room was small - and this is reflected in the price - they were very clean and the bed and pillows were comfortable. There is some noise from nearby rail and highway, but not constant after peak hour. Good dining options within a blocks walk.

Perfect for my solo work trip, for getting ubers, walking to shops, cafes & plenty of eating out or takeaway choices. Train station 10 mins walk or less.

Thought it would be noisy but train line & road noise was sealed out so I relaxed & slept well.

Reception is minimally attended … this is not a holiday destination but suited to work travellers or those wanting a really well-kept, low-key, comfortable place to stay in this location.

Ticked all the boxes for my stay! Thankyou 🙏

I don’t like having no face. To face contact, surely there could be some way of having someone to offer help
Not the properties fault but the noise from the train line was horrible plus on the Saturday we were woken early by countless. railway staff doing maintenance work, not the fault of the property but on the less doesn't make for happy travellers
One last point no sugar for your tea or coffee and it wouldn’t hurt to provide 2 wineglasses,one cheap plastic flute is not good enough for the cost
Would think long and hard before coming back, we travel to Sydney on a regular basis but will go back to previous accommodation even though not as close to where we like yo be
