There was no one at reception when we arrived and the number to call went to a message service. The room was very dirty with a beer bottle of cigarette buts on the balcony, windows so dirty and one sliding door broken with a note taped to it saying not to open. There was a baby's dummy just under the lounge and the bathtub was very dirty.

Our 3pm checkin was not available till 3:25pm, many guests trying to check in were left with no reason except the room wasn't ready; pretty poor form. For an apartment that sleeps 6, there is not many cooking supplies e.g. no baking dish, only a small frypan and the list could go on. There was mould in the ensuite bathroom, the furniture is a little worse for wear and could do with up dating.

The rooms were quiet (we travelled as a family of 4) but could do with an update and some maintenance. One of the toilets needed repairs as soon as we checked in, one of the lamps in the main bedroom was not working at all, a soap dispenser fell off the shower wall and a saucepan in the kitchen cupboard was put away dirty and sported a healthy crop of mould. It is a very convenient location with Chatswood Station just around the corner and Westfield across the road but an update and full maintenance program for The Sebel is long overdue.

Disappointed in the lack of heating.

The apartment was nice, but the heating did not seem to work, so very cold. Reception lent us a fan heater, but gave no indication they were going to fix heating. Bathroom had no heat lamps or extraction fans. Spa also was not working. Expected better from such a hotel. Good location for metro.

The only good things are the gym, pool and sauna

The place is very old. The room wasn’t very clean, mould in tiles and sink and chips in the bed side table from previous stays. Stove is a gas one so you need to bring your own lighter. Soluble coffee instead of a proper coffee machine. Both tvs are not compatible with iPhones so I couldn’t even watch them. Spa is been under repairs for months. In my last morning there in the sauna I was trying to relax and there was a maintenance guy next door in the gym trying over and over the equipment so I could heard him the whole time and not very relaxing unfortunately. I do not recommend this place and I won’t stay there ever again.

Very dated! We stayed in 1008, we added in the breakfast option to find that they only give boxes breakfast and not for the entire stay for all your guests paid for. They didn’t service the apartment and the smell in lobby and lift area is terrible. The shower is weak, cannot wash your hair with the pressure. Only positive is the location, it’s very close to the train station and woollies and restaurants.

The property was good room was nice clean and tidy a little bit dated. Location was amazing close to everything you need. Westfield across the road. Train station only 5 minute walk close to lots of food options shopping. Staff and service was great very accommodating with things we needed.

Only down side was the spa pool wasn’t working and there was no communication about it not working prior to arriving. the Sauna wouldn’t heat up like a proper sauna.

We booked for 4 people but room was set up for 3 - sufficient beeds but not enough towels or pillows. Great location but urgent upgrade needed.

The place has become very rundown and badly needs an upgrade. The room had a musty smell. The taps were water saving so the water stream came out very tiny. This the water splattered out of the basin and made the floor wet. The fixed head shower with water saver made showering difficult. Can’t justify this price now.

However, the staff were nice and location was great!

We arrived Christmas Eve after travelling for 4 hours and was told we did not have a booking despite having an email confirmation and an email from the property a few days earlier to confirm. After a very long time and phone calls we were given an apartment that was fine except we had to use a sofa bed (originally booked two singles). The room was not serviced in any way during the 4 days and when I advised this to reception, I basically was given a shrug in response, Very disappointing for a very expensive Christmas stay.

We have stayed at this hotel about four or five times over the last 10 to 15 years. It’s such a shame that it’s been let go. It has good bones and is a fantastic location but it needs a good clean and there is no attention to detail. We had to move from the first room because it had an mould smell and the carpet was a trip hazard for my elderly mother.

Check in was painful. The front desk staff did not make the process easy.
We were told there weren’t enough fobs to access the car park (we had paid extra for parking) so we just had to push the “red and green button for access” we did this and still weren’t able to be let in. We finally got in behind another car.
Property was excellent, the apartment and amenities were lovely.
The next morning we again couldn’t get out of the car park and had to ring the property from our phone to be let out. This took over 10 minutes and made us late for our next destination.
This was all reported to the front desk staff and all we got in response was a repeated “oh ok” from the staff.
Despite the nice apartment we will not stay here again

Great location as you are just across the road from Westfield and next door to Mandarin Centre. Everything is just at your doorsteps. Very close to Chatswood station as well. The hotel itself is a bit rundown but the sheets and towels are clean. We got a city view room and we could see fireworks from Darling Harbour on Saturday night. The only downside is they only do housekeeping if you stay for 7 nights or more. Overall will definitely book again when we visit Sydney next time.

the room we had although it was quite large was dirty all the curtains had stains on them all the doonas were dirty the sofa bed was broken, the showers had mould and cracked tiles through them, the hair dryer didnt work ( i now for most thats not an issue but with 5 females all needing there hair dried it was an issue)

The location was handy for the trains. Large Westfield next door. We liked the markets on Thursday and Friday nights in the next street over. Would definitely stay again. A good hotel for families.

The hotel was nice, a bit dated so needs a renovation. Check-in went smoothly. Bit annoyed the following morning as they had renovation works or some kind of works as it was so noisy you couldn't sleep at all, the constant sounds of drills above or below my room was annoying. On check out they tried to charge me an extra $40 when I had already paid in full. For anyone that redeems reward nights on hotels.com make sure you have a copy of your receipt with you when it comes time to check out as this is what saved me from being charged again! The should've looked at their system first before saying that I owed them money when in fact I actually didn't. Anyway they eventually worked out the issue and all was well. Probably wouldn't stay here again, there were some other guests there when I went back later to pick up my bags that were having the same issue with charges, they were being charged about 800 instead of 400 and something. so their system they currently have in place needs to be updated as its causing issues for pre paid bookings.

The room was filthy, you couldn’t see out the windows, the bath had someone elses hair in the Deakin, the doors were falling off in the kitchen and there were fleas and bed bugs - don’t stay here.
The staff are untrained and they are incredibly short staffed.. needs a complete overhaul and for close to $900 for two nights, it’s a complete ripoff.

Close proximity to everything was fantastic, so convenient and easy.
The two-room apartment was a fantastic size for our family of 5. Groceries stores available a short walk to enable us to cook meals to keep costs down. Local coffee shops and bakeries as well.
The skyline view was amazing.

I was very dissatisfied with the additional charges and fees that were not advised when booking and payable at time of check-in.
Parking fees we feel should be included in the accommodation costs, it certainly appeared there were enough permanent residents' vehicles within the parking spaces that could adequately cover the costs of temporary/holiday visitors parking fees.

Arrived at 1400 and told the room wasn’t quite ready and the hotel would call when available. Drove around Chatswood for 2 hours with no call so returned to hotel at 1600 and the room was ready finally. Shower had a heap of pubic hair in one corner and the dining table was filthy. Not sure why the room took so long to clean when evidently it wasn’t cleaned. Advised reception of this and they didn’t seem to care other than to say sorry. I wouldn’t stay in this hotel again. The Sebel used to be nice but the current owners have just let it run down.

There’s no restaurant and they provide a tray. We declined once we learnt it was a tray and the hotel wouldn’t refund the additional $18per head charge for breakfast- terrible way to treat the guests.

The property is the combination of residential and service apartments. As soon as we get into the lift, we can smell the cooking of someone stir frying! The smell becomes stronger as we get to the level we are staying at.

Also when we use the parking facility that the property offers, the beam that is holding the ceiling is low for the 4 wheel drive car boot door when it was opened. We did not realize that and because it was all automatic, it caused a dent in our car boot door! We were of course upset about it and let the concierge know but they said they never had any issue.

Overall, the property is clean but amenities need improvement, but the location was just perfect for us. If not for the damage to our car, our overall stay could have been stress free and enjoyable.

Excellent location, on the doorstep is all the food and shopping you could ever want. But the hotel is old, so the bathroom fixtures, carpet and furnishings are old. Foldout bed is borderline unsafe, if kids sleep too close to the metal edges. Cleanliness is a problem, with the sheets having stains and discolouration. But it's fair for the price I guess, and room service happens once every 7 days - so factor that in as well. Would recommend for large families on a budget.

The apartment was lovely. It allowed us to extend our families time to another city while still feel we were on holiday mode. Beds were clean and comfortable. Communication of staff was appalling. We got one rate as we booked online with Wotif but then we had to pay extra. This was after I had called the Sebel and asked for the booking. I was then given a higher price but was assured it considered all the extras. Then as we turned up for booking it was more expensive. Personnel simply said “this is the figure I have on my screen” it was a disappointing to start our holidays like that.
Overall, a good stay and staff tried to be as helpful and accommodating to us.

We had a 3 bedroom aptmt which had 3 bathrooms that was so convienent for 5 of us. Location was great, just next to Chatswood Mall with lots of eateries. Just 3 mins walk fm the train station.

The unit is in need of an upgrade. Kitchen cutlery is not enough for the group. Needs better knives n cooking pots. The water pressure in the bathroom is not stable. Sometimes is too cold or too hot. Very hard to adjust. One of the beds just sunk in, think the spring is broken.
