Felt like a 3 star hotel. Few choices at the breakfast buffet and drinks like an espresso is an additional charge. This hotel get quite noisy at night making it hard to sleep, especially when loud guests are checked in next to you. There’s no policy of keeping quiet even at 2am, etc. There were other issues as well where I had to complain to the manager who then apologized multiple times but didn’t offer me any compensation.

So basically I didn’t enjoy my stay here and can’t recommend.

The room I stayed in has a horrible sewage smell. The whole lobby was darkes out. The architecture is way too rustic and out of touch with the nearby hotels my friend stayed in. I would like to request for a partial refund for the suffering I went through in bearing with the sewage smell. I was too tired to try to communicate with the staff who x have poor understanding of my questions in English.

Room and property was clean. The staff friendly and quick to help at all times. My room was quite due to it facing the temple area and not the road. It look liked it was just renovated and fairly modern. My room have a huge window facing down into the temple. Got a few surprised look from people looking up 😆. The buffet breakfast didnt have much options but it was filling and delicous and the staff at the buffet were attentive and friendly. My only complain is that they didnt say that you have to pay to use the gym downstairs. Its called Topgun and its not owned by the hotel. You have to pay 120k Vietnamese dong to use it. Regular customer have to pay 150k so i guess thats something. Lots of food option outside as well as massage and travel agencies to book tours with. Traffic could be horrendous around the area so give yourself some time to get anywhere.

Overall, this hotel was great. Wonderful value for your money and comfy bed set up. Only thing is the noise level - the rooms back up right to the street, so it’s loud and not that relaxing. It’s a good trader off to be in the heart of the Old Quarter.

Overall the hotel was good, however if you after a quite location this is not the hotel for you. It’s in the old quarter therefore very noisy especially at weekends if you planning an early night after site seeing. However the hotel is close to some great bars, restaurants and night markets. This hotel has excellent staff, the staff make this hotel worth staying. Very helpful, friendly and approachable.

This hotel is located in Old Quarter. Lots of bars are near the hotel. My wife and I stayed in the luxury double. The room was large enough. But, the water pressure was very weak. The breakfast service was good enough. In general, everything was satisfying.

I don't know much about the standard in Vietnam. I'm basing my opinion on Thailand's hotels standard since I'm frequent visitor to Bangkok.

The staff is friendly and efficient as expected from the Asian hospitality.
The rooms I stayed in are so-so, kind of dark without much lighting, and the facilities need some upkeeping.
The best part of the hotel is the roof-top terrace but the food served is kind of limited and not the greatest
Overall, I find the hotel price a bit pricey compared to similar hotels in Thailand. ( Should note, the food is cheaper in Vietnam than Thailand)

Pros and cons of MK

Pros: The service was really good and helpful. The breakfast buffet was a bit small but had everything that would make you feel satisfied and full. The bed was on the good side. Slept really well both nights me and my partner stayed. No complaints there. Their fruits were realllly good (welcome fruits-tangerines and the watermelon from the buffet). The massage was good but the clothes they provided us was not on par, it was worn out.
Cons: There are no sound proof doors/walls. We were able to hear everything on the outside(hallway/rooms next to is) from inside our room. You can hear normal talking level and every footstep and probably could hear if they whispered. It was a mood killer. Could not have a romantic night.

It was our first time in Vietnam and hotel couldn’t be more helpful arranging an airport transfer for us upon arrival and providing us with a map and recommendations. Spa treatments were great and ate in the restaurant too which was also lovely. Hotel is in the heart of the old quarter (ask for a quiet room) and easy to walk to most places from there.

Although the staff was lovely and very helpful I found the hotel to be in an unideal location hat was quite run down. I also found the room to be quite muggy and stuffy despite having quite a bit of room. The bathroom was quite old and needed some new cocking. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was mold in the room. The rooftop patio isn’t anything like pictured.

The entrance of the hotel was great for having a drink and relaxing, especially when it rained and we needed cover but still wanted to enjoy lunch or a snack. The pho every morning for breakfast was delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. Location was good if you want to be near shopping, local eateries and nightlife. There is one street filled with bars and tiny restaurants that come alive at night.

The only downside was the strange noise we heard every morning just before dusk coming from the ceiling. The first night, we thought it was people walking upstairs, but then we heard it again for the next 2 nights from about 2:30-5 am. We finally realized the noise was coming from rats scurrying in the ceiling. It was horrible and made it difficult to sleep because these sounded like BIG rats. We figured out the noises stopped around 5 am, which is probably when a lot of the kitchen staff arrives for work to start preparing for breakfast. Other than the rats (which we never actually saw, so we could be totally wrong, but I doubt it), we enjoyed our stay.

Centrally located hotel in the French Quarter

Great spot to relax in the hotel spa or rooftop terrace & bar or immerse yourself in the hustle & bustle of Hanoi. I only spent one night, but everything was well-appointed, clean & comfortable in the hotel with a warm welcome & farewell from the lovely staff. The large foyer had its own cafe with great Vietnamese coffee etc., & area where you could wait in comfort for your tour bus or taxi to pick you up. We visited the Women's Museum taking a tuk-tuk through the crazy traffic (a couple of blocks south of the lake) & we walked back along the lake, taking time to enjoy a beer, absorb the atmosphere & the various evening activities taking place, before situating ourselves on a 6th floor west-facing restaurant terrace where we watched the sunset over the city. After eating delicious meals (once again), we strolled back towards our hotel through the maze of narrow streets, experiencing the busy night markets where bargains, souvenirs & banter with the lovely locals could be had. We cooled off & ended our evening with dessert (a final cocktail) on our hotel's rooftop terrace, before turning in for a comfortable & a peaceful sleep in our adjustably air-conditioned room.

The staff is very helpfull and friendly. My friend got sick and they were there to assist of in any need we had. They were prompt to pick us up from.the airport. The Mk Premier is located close to everything: restaurants, shops, bars, and some landmarks. One of the things I didnt like was the air conditioner. It was set up to go not lower than 18C so it was hot at night. Because of its location, it was noisy and hard to sleep at night.

A nice stay

When we arrived very early in the morning after an overnight train from Sapa, we were told by the lady at reception that our room wasn’t ready until check in in the afternoon which was fine but to just use a shower to freshen up they wanted to charge us which we weren’t very happy about considering we were paying guests. The room was nice, ours was facing the busy street and the noise was very loud but only until about 11.30pm. The spa treatments were really nice and breakfast was good.

A disappointing hotel

This hotel is located in a great spot. Very convenient to everything. Unfortunately, I think it needs a little work. In my first room the air conditioner would not get the room cool. After complaining, they moved me to another room where the air conditioner worked a little better, but barely. The thermostat will not go lower than 18 celsius, but it never got anything near even 28 celsius in my opinion. Hotels I have stayed at since had great a/c. The manager, Eric, was very good in trying to rectify some of the problems, which included poor wifi, a broken shade in the bathroom, damaged ceiling in the bathroom and walls in need of painting. But most things never got corrected. Each room had their own wifi, but for some reason my room 311 did not, and Eric had me use another room's wifi. I had another night booked here to stay after my trip to Halong Bay, but I canceled and booked at the Hanoi Allure Hotel around the corner at the same price, but a clear upgrade in accommodations. I wish I had booked my whole stay at Hanoi Allure Hotel. Management needs to put a little money and effort in upgrading the MK Premier Boutique Hotel as the location and staff are excellent, but the facility is getting run down.

boutique hotel in old quarter area.

We stayed here for 2 days 3 nights. i was happy with location in terms of proximity to lake and markets. we've stayed in old quarter twice before so knew what to expect for the nightly gong show down what we referred to as \"beer alley\". unfortunately be ause of yhe openness of yhe outside to the various hallways the noise was a bit off putting. The brick buildings are generally more soundproof.

For general housekeeping the place could use some lessons in washroom cleanliness (grout needs serious mold and mildew remover and grout cleaner in general on the floor). And the design is a bit challenging for towels since the sink and towel rack are not close toghether.

Walls could use repair in several places ans elevator doors have the enamel falling off like they renovated the rest of the building but then ran out of money and/or energy.

The roof top deck is a nice touch but dont expect too much of a view from the 6th floor.

Breakfast buffet is nice and fresh and stocked continuously with small amounts.

MK Premier Boutique Hotel is the perfect place to stay in the heart of Hanoi's old town. It's a very stylish hotel with a great rooftop bar and restaurant. The Banh mi shop by the entrance makes fantastic sandwiches, and the spa treatments were wonderful. Great value and service. We highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay hear again.

Good sized room, clean and comfy. Good amenities, effective aircon and wifi. Pillow was too high for me, rainshower was a bit weak, room could be brighter, thin walls let in noise. Other than that, I enjoyed the stay. The hotel lobby was spacious and stylish, good spa was well-priced. Breakfast was adequate. In the middle of the Old Quarter, so many shops and restaurants in the area. I would stay here again.

I was assigned a dingy room. Walls were dirty and pretty sure I had a window in my booking but received a room with a tiny hole as a window. Staff was not very helpful and my stay was not memorable. Wouldn't come back. Expensive for what you get. Booked much better 3 star hotel for much less.

Great location, even better staff. Walk outside the hotel and you’re in the bustling part of town with tons of shops, massage places, and restaurants. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful when booking excursions. Spa was wonderful. Only downside for me was the bathroom in the rooms. There is no separate shower stall. Basically the shower is the whole bathroom. So you are showering with the toilet and bathtub and the water doesn’t drain well which makes it very messy.

We had a fantastic stay at the MK Boutique Hotel at an extremely reasonable rate.
The staff were a delight and the facilities were an oasis in the hustle and bustle of Old Hanoi If you cant handle chaos please don't bother to go to the area and complain about it. The town is vibrant the roads are buzzing with motor bikes and cars, and you need to keep your wits about you, but if you walk with care and keep a steady pace the locals are adept at avoiding you , and with no abuse or any of the constant horn blowing you get in India
If you are going to stay you must take advantage of the spa treatments which are incredibly professional and extremely good value.
Loved the area, loved the staff and very, very happy with the facilities provided, if you don't like this hotel then you have picked the wrong holiday.

Clean and modern hotel in the heart of Hanoi

The MK Premier is a beautiful hotel right in Hanoi's Old Quarter. Everything is new and modern, and the rooms are spacious. The rooms are also so quiet, you'd have no idea that Hanoi's busiest neighborhood is right outside. The included breakfast on the rooftop is beautiful and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again!

Great location right in the middle of the old town. Rooftop bar is nice but better to go down to the street for all the action.

The room was nice and clean. Good location. The only problem I had was the bathroom. The showerhead is in-built into their bathtub, but there is no stand for the showerhead. So it was really difficult to shower in their bathtub.
It also gets quite noisy from all the hustle and bustle outside. Found it difficult to sleep at night.

Great Hotel, newly renovated, great location

My family stayed there (2 rooms) and had a great time. Staff were friendly and helpful, and helped us to keep our Goose Liver Pate in the hotel fridge (bought from Bánh Mì Nguyên Sinh at Lý Quốc Sư (just opposite Pho 10 Lý Quốc Sư)

Disappointing hotel.

Apon arrival we were told that the Premier room we had booked for 2 nights was not available due to electrical issues, so we were down graded to a small standard room which too may have had some small electrical issues as the bed side lamps continually flickered when turned on. We were not informed of the of the room change prior to arrival yet it seemed to have been a problem in the days prior as the hotel manager Eric then stated that other guests had chose to receive a refund and stay elsewhere. As it was late in the day when we arrived we decided to continue with our 2 night booking as Eric promised the Premier room which we had originally booked would be available for our 2nd night, which it was. However the maner in which it was dealt with from the start to the end of our stay was very unprofessional. We did not feel safe in this hotel, it was very noisy and definitely not 4 star! Be aware that it seems most of the rooms with a balcony share the same balcony space and are only divided by pot plants so you may find that other people could possibly come onto your balcony area if they wanted to.
Eric did offer as compensation 1 drink each at the rooftop bar and free airport transfer back to the airport which again became a disaster as we were by then staying at another hotel in Hanoi and the car Eric had arranged for us did not turn up. Our new hotel staff had to call Eric again to sort this out. Be ware when booking this hotel!

Horrible service, booking all messed up

Rude front desk informed us our room was messed up would be ready for hours. After waiting for hours it was the wrong room set up and the staff simply shrugged it off. Would never ever stay here again.

Convenient Location but cautious with street noise

Downtown areas and packed with tourists. Room was reasonable and acceptable. Main selling point is due to the location. Breakfast could be improved with more varieties. Light sleeper might has trouble due to the street noise.

My husband and I spent our last night of honeymoon trip at this hotel. The staff's super nice and they presented us a honeymoon cake as a surprise! We felt very pleasant and convenient here as it's in the old quarter of Hanoi. We love exploring the side streets. Though the streets are crowded in the evening and night time, it's amazingly quiet during the bedtime. The stay's wonderful!

Nice hotel in the heart of the old quarter

Hotel stay was for only one night with breakfast. The room was a good size and the bathroom facilities were perfect. Everything was clean and tidy. Hotel has a great rooftop bar but the prices of drinks were high. The breakfast laid on a good spread however the baguettes famous in the area were a little stale and the bacon was just okay. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.
