The best part about staying I would say is the staff. They’re all friendly, helpful and hospitable. The room itself needs some uplift. From old sinks, toilets and shower heads to the mattress.

Unexpectedly impressed with this hotel. Clean and low cost rate and easy access to tourism landmarks and transportations. Professional and friendly staff. Breakfast is good and worth adding when staying here. Though would request adding favorite local Pilipino breakfast favs such as daing ( fry dry fish ) fruits ( banana ) local chorizo. I recommend this place and will return to stay here in the future.

The hotel had great improvement from dec2022. Sir Christian the manager is very friendly and accommodating. He listens to suggestions. He also is a hard worker 14 hours a day. He is always there n on top of everything esp with the customers.

No hot water in the shower. I inquired with the front desk about this and was told that it had been like that for several weeks. So if you are ok with cold showers, this is a good hotel.

Old hotel. Rooms are not worth the price paid. Bathrooms are old and dirty. No shower curtain. Water all over floor always.

Tv reception is bad. Wifi slow. Restaurant food below average. Many times told \"item not available sir.\"

Most disappointed with customer service and management. Had problem with dirty table at breakfast. Noticed all tables and table cloths were dirty. Politely wiped my own table, then, complained. Then, was basicallly argued with and laughed at by 4 or 5 employees. Could not believe this treatment!

Asked to speak to owner of hotel. \"Not available sir.\"
Asked when owner would arrive? \"Don't know sir.\"
Asked for owner's phone number. \"Don't have it sir.\"
Asked for hotel manager. \"Not here yet sir.\"
Asked for manager's time of arrival? \"Not sure sir.\"
On and on. Unbelievable treatment and service!! Disgusting! Thought i had experienced bad treatment in the philippines before this. Wow, was i wrong!

What's the worst, is, your stuck many times like this in the philippines. Nowhere to go for help. So sad. It's 2020, and, the philippines still has no uniform concept of how to deal with basic problems and complaints.

Was a great stay.

We had a great stay. Bed was comfy,service was pretty good except for one night that when they make up our room,the housekeeper forgot to replace the coffee and cups as well as the towels. So i called up the frontdesk and they send my request right away. Buffet breakfast every morning is hearty healthy,we all love it. Our room was small and cant view the city but it dont really mind. Eventhough the room was not so spacious its pretty comfy to stay. I slept well. And totally enjoyed our stay. Definitely going to stay here again

The staff was accommodating but OJTrainees are too many and are not very familiar with the hotel's services. The food are just OK except for some inclusions in the breakfast buffet. They seem to be prepared in a way that quality was not very much considered (cake, coffee, soup). The food in the restaurant are OK and affordable. Moreover, we had a bad experience with the tours that they offer but we were told that the lapses were from the tour provider. The cost was way expensive and our expectations were not meant. We gave them this feedback and they responded accordingly by giving a discount. I guess we will not come back here as we prefer value for our money.

Small rooms

I stayed her twice with my family. The rooms for three adults is perfect, but they give families with children rooms too small to walk in. The staff was helpful, but one girl at the front desk tried to make me pay for printing, only to find out is is free. Be careful for staff adding surcharges, especially if they increase the price for billing to your room: the intention is to pocket the money. Otherwise, super clean and the beds are comfortable.

Never again. The doors start slamming at 4:30 in the morning in the halls and sounds like a bomb going off.
Then people keep slamming their doors three or four times consecutively like their trying to get it to lock. Our door also was hard to lock.
Nice staff sad they have such bad noise in the halls.

Hotel charged 350 pesos for stained hand towel

Hotel charged us 350 peso (about 10sgd) for a menstrual blood stained towel. The stain was about the size of a 5 peso coin (less 1 inch in diameter). I had already soaked the towel in water so the stain could easily be washed off with soap. But no, they decided to overcharge us for something which they should already be washing and sterilising. If the hotel wanted to charge us so they could buy a new towel then fine. But to use this as an opportunity to profit is pretty ridiculous.

Great hotel, great service,great food, great price

Southpole has become our \"go to\" hotel in Cebu.The staff is excellent, the rooms comfortable and clean and the WiFi is beyond belief for the Philippines (notoriously slow nationally). I cannot compliment the food enough. The free breakfast was hot, slightly varied from one day to the next and always tasty. But the restaurant for the other meals has to be mentioned. The picture in the menu doesn't do it justice. I ordered the BBQ Platter, which in the menu didn't look that big. When it came there was enough there to feed four people... for Ph550 (about $12 US). I suppose they should probably note that it is for 2 people or more, but for some folks' appetite it might be for one. :-0

Not the best neighborhood, but the facilities are top rated. Room internet is excellent. Spacious and luxurious for the price. Restaurant could offer more choices, but the free breakfast was superb. Over-all, I will recommend this hotel to friends and relatives.

The place was located at the heart of the city. Just walking distance from the 3 universities, churches and one of the busiest streets in cebu city. It had an affordable rate. If you plan to travel to the south, the place was just 2 buildings away from the terminal.

this was one of the worse hotels we've stayed at in Cebu -- had a almost 3 hour delay on checking in due to they were having trouble location reservation (so they say) rude and unhelpful --- I would suggest you try another hotel in this area since for this price the Southpole Central Hotel fall way short of value & quality for price

I stayed for one night only but the hotel was great. Very nice and friendly staff and they were able to check me in on a timely manner. The room was clean and new. What you see on the photos is what you get. I just don't have city view in my room. Will surely go back to the hotel.

Unbelievably Terrible Experience.

Simply put we had a standard stay at a standard hotel which ended with the worst experience we have ever been put through at any hotel in the entire world.

We overlooked normal niggly things such as no shower curtain, no safe and a restaurant with food service that was incredibly lax (15 mins we waited for our main after one of our party received theirs) but what we cannot overlook is the horrible ordeal we were out through on checking out of the hotel.

We were accused of burning a mattress with an Iron in a room, we were not staying in. The Iron was handed over to us at the other room where our family members were staying and the iron was never used in the that room.

After a long, frustrating and sickening talk with one of the management we were told bluntly - NO - we have to pay for the damage. After prolonged talks we had no choice but to pay their \"discounted rate\" – of 5000 Pesos for the damage as if we hadn't, we would have missed our flight.

This all seemed very convenient as the hotel knew we had to leave urgently. We had asked to see CCTV footage which would have proved our innocence and we had wanted to see the burnt bed sheet - neither of which ever appeared.

We were blackmailed. There is no other way to describe it.

What was meant to be a simple stay at a hotel while visiting a wedding in Cebu turned into a traumatic and upsetting experience.

We were offered a free nights stay at the hotel in the form of a voucher.

We will not be using the voucher.

Windows without curtains and facing stairways.

The hotel is new. However, the building beside the hotel is under construction. The worst part there are 2 window panels that do not have curtains. One of the window panel faces the first escape stairways. Meaning, someone could be looking into the room. Without the curtains, the room is brightly lit in the day. You will not be able to sleep comfortably in the brightness under the glare of \"someone\" on the escape stairways.

befor leaving Davao,I did my work checking here on hotel .com.I wanted somthing on the southside of town near the bus station so I could leave early and get down to see the whale sharks.and not stay in town where I always stay when visiting cebu. Plan work great,5 min walk to southern bus terminal,couple hr ride and I'm taking pictures of whale sharks ,VERY COOL.Hotel is great,super luckly find ,great wifi,best english TV in 3 months.staff very helpful. But Like I said it's a working neighbourhood,short ride by taxi to find nice places to eat and have drinks,

Was close to many of the old attractions around Cebu e.g. Fort, churches. We were there for Sinulog and the grand parade passed abt 50 m from the hotel. We were able to take regular breaks from the crowd and heat. Staff were super friendly but very inexperienced. They often wanted to help but didn't know how. Hotel had just opened when we were there. Teething problems with bookings, wi fi etc. Building and painting ongoing. Rooftop bar not opened. Shower not separated from toilet. Heavy traffic in location. We thought due to Sinulog. Locals said always the case.
Represents great value and location. Will only get better as young staff gain experience.

宿泊費は安い割にほてるは綺麗だったのですが、フィリピンにはよくあることですが、シャワーはお湯が無いです。
アメニティは揃っていたのでよかったです。ただ音がうるさく各部屋のドアが閉まる音が大きく気になりました。ドアノブが動かないので仕方ないです。
高速船乗り場から近いので利用しました。
