You should have room freshened up at least every 5 days. I stayed 21 days. Price was right. REALLY missed having a refrigerator though. Air con worked great. Avoid 8am, 12pm and 5 pm if you want to go somewhere in a taxi. Girls at front desk are friendly and eager to help.

A Great Cebu Hotel

This is my go-to hotel in Cebu every time I visit. It's clean, conveniently-located, and very low-priced for what you get. The breakfast is great too! The showers could use some renovations, but they're still better than most others you'd find in similarly priced hotels. Overall, I highly recommend this place!

Great hotel for the price

For the price we paid this was a great hotel. The area of Cebu is not very desirable. The wifi worked occasionally. The AC worked very well but we could not adjust it so it was too cold and the blanket on the bed too light to compensate for the cold. The only option was to turn it off whereafter we were too hot. Otherwise the room was spacious and the free breakfast not bad (with 5 combination options). Overall, for the price this is a great place. If they had better AC and wifi this place would be fabulous (although the location would still not correspond to the image I had of Cebu).

OK For A Budget Hotel

I stayed in this place about 3 years ago and had better luck than this time. Last time I had a quiet room, this time had one that backed up to a fairly noisy road. Don't get a room in the very back of the 2nd building if you want quiet. Last time had a big TV vs. a small one this time. The TV and air conditioner worked well, and the breakfast is fairly generous. The hot water in the bathroom was kind of spotty. Sometimes had it, sometimes not.

OK For A Budget Hotel

I stayed at this place about 3 years ago, and I guess I got a better room. Last time had a quiet room with a decent sized TV, but this time got a room in the very back with a fair amount of street noise from traffic on the street behind the hotel. Also, a very small TV and the hot water was spotty. The air conditioning works fine, but hits the bed head on in the room I was in. TV reception was good, with a fair number of channels in English. Sometimes hard to get a taxi to leave here since it is on a back street. The free breakfast is pretty good.

Very considerate and helpful!

I booked this hotel for my elderly parents to stay in while visiting in cebu. Apparently the room that I booked was located on the third floor. The staff, seeing that their guests were senior citizens, quickly checked if there was any available rooms on the ground floor and immediately offered it to them so that they need not climb the stairs. I'm really grateful for their kindness and great service to my parents!

I wanted to try this hotel because it is very affordable, the hotel is actually a pensionne, it is in a far location away from interesting or popular places. It is clean, has good space, has windows, the shower room was alright. The air conditiion was working well in the room, little noisy, there was flat screen tv with many channels, internet in the room was good.Once out of the room it is very hot in the corridors. Breakfast was nice and was plated to be ordered the night before. There was no fridge in the room, fridge could be provided in the room for a sum of money, i thought it was too much.

A bit of a paradox

When I arrived at the hotel I was a bit taken back by the aesthetics of the place. There is an obvious disconnect between what the product is supposed to look like and what it actually is. However, after getting over the initial deficiencies in the decorum. One is soon raptured to a surprising level of comfort. I stayed there for 15 days, and I must tell you that the most outstanding feature of this hotel is the willingness to help by the staff. My room was very good I had no major complaints with the room, in fact I can't recall an issue with the room at all. Everyone was very helpful, from the security guard to the ladies at the front desk and also the ladies that served the complimentary breakfast each morning. There is a level of humility and warmth in their attitude, a kind of shyness that seem to be a trait found in the average Filipino during my entire stay. They made my stay a very pleasant one and I must give them a lot of credit for that. I've worked in the hospitality industry for more than 24 years. And so I'm very observant when it comes to basic comforts and services. I would definitely recommend Palazzo Pensionne to the budget-conscious traveler. The free breakfast is a little bit restrictive, but anyone with common sense should understand that if the word free comes before the word breakfast you really have nothing to complain about. The food was good and they were always on time. Yes I would definitely return, in fact it's already in the works.

Stayed one night. It was fine. I was upgraded to a deluxe room which was nice but I didn't really need a room with an extra bed because I was traveling alone. Basic, and clean. I was excited to have a tv, but unfortunately there were only a few Filipino channels and CNN available to watch. Breakfast was basic which was fine. Only problem I had with the hotel was the location. It's a bit out of the way from everything and you definitely need a taxi to get anywhere.

It served its purpose for my 2 night stay

Honestly, I was expecting a bit more based on the high rating this place got on Expedia. Don't get me wrong, the staff was nice and the room was fine (clean with cold AC) but I think could've found a nicer place to stay for the price. The complementary breakfast was a nice bonus but it was kind of a joke. I ordered the tocino breakfast and got a heaping scoop of rice with a teapoon portion of pork (I'm not exaggerating). I expected the usual disproportion of carbs to proteins found in most restos in the Philippines but this was by far the most shocking during my one month stay in the country ...but then again, it was free! Overall, this place served its purpose for my 2 night stay before my flight back to Manila. It was easy getting a taxi using Grab Taxi and Ayala Center is walkable if you're comfortable doing so.

This place would be good if only the Internet worked. Yes, there is wifi in the rooms (meaning there is \"a\" wifi signal), however at amazing download speeds of 0.25Mbps it's unuseable. I missed on two large projects during my stay because email wouldn't load, urgent Skype calls kept cutting off, I was charged twice for a purchase I made online because of the faulty connection. So frustrating!

The room was big and well kept, but there must have been some type of bug as I woke up covered in nasty bites (I've posted pictures on a Tripadvisor review). From the looks of the bites it seems there were fire ants, which can cause a fatal allergic reaction.

Just great.

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. We chose this hotel because their rooms have black out curtains, basic hotel amenities (hot and cold shower, AC, housekeeping everyday, free WIFI in the room) and offers complimentary breakfast at an affordable price. Hotel is also close to the Ferry Terminal, Ayala Center and other tourist attractions in Cebu City.

As the property is small we are not expecting a lot from this hotel. Hotel exterior is just simple, nothing grand. Bed and bath amenities are just the basics. Nevertheless we are not disappointed with our stay as again, we are not expecting a lot when we chose this hotel.

What made our stay worthwhile, is that the service the staff are friendly, accommodating and always willing to help you every time you let them know about your concerns. Bebe, Cionie, Roy, the other front desk staff, restaurant and housekeeping staff---all of them makes sure to go extra mile to be able to provide the assistance you need. We needed help with food delivery for dinner/snacks and hotel offered free calls to restaurants around the area. They also assist you with getting a cab, directions in the area, recommendations where to go and eat, ironing clothes, storing of luggage and in room breakfast.

Hotel is located in a residential area so there's no issue about noise. Complimentary breakfast is decent. You have 5 options to choose from---American, Filipino, Continental, Pancake and Noodle Breakfast.

All in all, we had a wonderful stay.

Next time we will specify that we don't want a smoking room. The towels in the room smells of cigarette smoke. The slippers for the bathroom were not properly paired and overused. But we would like to commend the Ladies from the kitchen were very accomodating. The location was accessible to malls and restaurants and near the Pier Area.

I stay here every time I visit Cebu (3 times thus far). Look, it's not The Ritz-Carlton so don't expect that. It's a inexpensive hotel, that is very comfortable for the price. The neighborhood looks rough, but it really isn't that bad. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They have a kitchen and the food is delicious. The only complaint I've ever had is the wifi. Sometimes it works okay and sometimes it's super slow. If the internet is the most important thing to you when you travel, then perhaps you should stay elsewhere (or just stay at home).

A decent choice in Cebu City

Nice hotel with good staff. Hotel located on pretty dark back lane and it doesnt feel so safe. Cebu suffers from crime like elsewhere in the world and muggings are not uncommon, phones grabbed out of hands, pick pockets etc. I felt uncomfortable in this area at night time but thankfully was fine. Hotel is a good option over the big name hotels eg Radison etc which will cost significantly more money (5 or 6 times more!)

Palazzo is near Ayala mall and Mango Square.

First night I got the room which had ants and unbearably squeaking queen-sized bed. AC was blowing directly at the bed too, which made sleeping impossible with AC on over night. Next day I requested another room and got moved into two single beds room which was a bit better. Staff is not friendly at all. Wireless was funky 50% of the time. Food is OK. Location is decent. All in all, dissapointing experience, and would not come back again.

I'd stay here again.

We are budget travelers and wanted a cheaper but nice place to stay for three nights. This fit the bill.

PROS:
- The room was large and clean with excellent AC.
- Shower was good sized with plenty of hot water.
- The included breakfast was one of the best we've had in the region. The pancakes were great and so big we couldn't finish them.
- We ordered dinner as well and were happy with the selection and costs (about $5USD per entre).

CONS:
- While the shower was great, the shower head was wonky and did spray water all over. We didn't bother complaining, but don't expect everything to be perfect.
- The wifi was a real mystery. It actually worked pretty good for us, especially when we were down in the lobby but mostly up in the room too. Other people though were unable to connect at all, even sitting right next to us while ours was working, theirs just wouldn't. I have no explanation for that, but there were quite a few frustrated people there. The staff tried to help, resetting routers and stuff, but like I said it was working ok for some of us, so I have no idea what the issue was.
- I found the neighborhood to be a bit dodgy. Not bad, but really there was nothing around and I didn't feel comfortable wandering around after dark. That said, cabs are easy to get and are very cheap around the city.

VERDICT: Pros outweigh the cons.

This place is a splendid value all things considered. The room is clean, flat screen TV is nice, and reliable hot water from the water heater. Free breakfast is good. Only negatives are the slightly remote location (take a taxi at night) and noise from the back of the hotel. If you want quiet, might be better to stay in a room facing the street.

Ok budget stay for a night or two

We first got a room on first floor whitch was extremely hummid, dark, bad smelling and a lot of ants. It wasn't cleaned properly either. We waited to see if the smell would disappear after using the air on for a while but ended up with asking for a new room. That was no problem and we got a much better room on the second floor - cleaner, lighter and no smell. So ask for room 2C. We are backpacking for 5 months so are used budget hotels now. Cebu is nothing special but a huge town so we were only there for shopping. Couldn't find any cozy restaurants close to the hotel and the area is not the finest. Take a taxi to Ayala Mall and have dinner there, a lot of good choices! And remember, always go by taxameters.

Great budget hotel!

I stayed here a total of 5 nights. I had unexpected change in plans and came here alone. The staff had no problem checking me in at 9am, despite the normal 2pm check-in. Room was basic but good. Wi-fi was a bit slow, but thats common in the Philippines. Breakfast options were great and I looked forward to breakfast each morning (good pancakes!). I wanted to backpack around and the hotel staff was happy to hold my larger lugguge for over a week while I backpacked around. The location is close to everything but not exactly prime location as nothing is right there. Still, its a very short taxi to mango square, the supermarket, malls, etc. The staff was great and was happy to help me order delivery or find a taxi. Great overall. Only con? I woke up at 6:30am on Friday to very loud construction under my window. It pratically shook my room and consudering the guests, they should have waited until closer to breakfast time

Good place to stay, good food as well.

I have stayed here on a previous trip to Cebu, for the price you cannot beat it, the rooms are clean as are your linen. Where they fail are the towels which I doubt are washed in bleach and have a musty smell. They also have a ant problem so shake your towel out before using it, I did not and got bitten all over. The beds and pillows are very good. The food is satisfactory and you will not be let down They do use instant coffee which I find a bit tacky but I can live with it. I do recommend it though great place to base from be it a long or a short stay.

Clean and good value. A bit out of the way, a 20 min walk past some minorly dodgey bars to get to the main on the main strip.

Service is good with great attitudes. Front desk responsive and doorman happy to hunt down a cab for you. I would return for another night if I was passing through. Don't know about for an extended stay though.

Good budget hotel

This was a good place just to stay a night and move on. Not in the best part of town, but they did have a security guard on site. Also, the restaurant was incredibly slow in getting orders out and the food was meh, but it was nice to have a restaurant on site since I was just stopping here for the night to move on the next day. All in all, a good clean budget place to stay but I wouldn't hang around here.

They advertised one room and gave me another. I was meant to stay in an air conditioned room, but they tried to place me in a meager dormitory style room with a handful of other people. When I refused, they offered to put me in an air-conditioned single room, but then reneged on that promise, then tried to stuff me into a small, dingy room with a window facing the kitchen area where i could literally hear people chewing their food.

This must be the fifth time I've stayed here in the last few years and I feel very comfortable with the staff and their kids. A really nice and homely place with lots of cabs passing by to the malls just a few minutes away. I'd left behind some stuff on my last trip and when I called the lady on duty that night immediately confirmed they had it. They should raise their room rates for their integrity, helpfulness and friendliness.

I just stayed one night. The idea was to stay more but the rooms was looking at the road and was impossible to close totally the small windows. So some noise was coming in when sometimes a moto was passing in the street. Anyway the hotel isn't far from Mango Square, good for the nightlife, but if you walk the sourranding aren't so nice. They sad that isn't danger to walk there...i did it. I changed hotel, i went to the TUNE Hotel very near to the Ayala Mall, the only plece where u can spend time during the day. Because the city isn't nice...

This hotel has nice rooms, but our stay was affected by the poor staff, for example it took 40 minutes before we got our food, even when we were the only ones in the restaurant! We also checked the price in the reception for staying one night extra, but ended up booking online since that was cheaper!

I was in a more expensive hotel (hotel henry). This hotel however had a nice family atmosphere. They knew me very well, they were concerned for my safety and comfort. Staff were very approachable. Its a cheap place but it had everything the other hotels have. Maybe the rooms are a bit smaller though. Its nicely located. The surrounding streets are pleasant to walk around. Theres usually a taxi hanging around outside. Breakfast is free.

The Palazzo Pensionne is located near the Ayala Center and not far from Robinsons. The Qualityof the rooms is Ok.Will stay there again when I go to Cebu

Good Value, clean.

Staff were helpful and attentive, room was bigger than average being out of the main city a little. A 10 minute php 50 taxi ride gets you to the thick of city attractions, that's about $0,50 so not a major issue. Ideal for younger travelers who don't mind rooms not being 5* . Overall it is very good value and the area is safe and quiet. 7/10 from me.

Don't Pass up This place

By far the best pension I have stayed in 3 years living here in Philippines. These Folks are great. I read prior reviews claiming dogs barking , roosters crowing well folks Welcome To the Philippines. The place was Great, Affordable, Clean and very inviteing. Yes they are doing some construction there but that is NO reason to cry negative about them they are improving for YOUR stay. It was quiet and off the beaten trail a bit but my advice is get their business card so you can show your taxi driver where they are located when you are returning. Other then that I would choose Palazzo for my every visit to Cebu and I am a American as well. For all you others that are complaining well sorry to say I never encountered a 5 star hotel with these rates so spend more and get more or be content this is a BARGIN place with 5 star accomidations.

Cozy little hotel with good food & friendly staff

We enjoyed our stay at the Palazzo. We were able to rent a mini refrigerator for our room which was nice to have. The room is clean and perfect size for the price. We would like to see a coin-operated washer and dryer for the guests to use at the hotel. The outsource laundry is slow and does not offer dry cleaning. The hotel staff is very friendly and quick to respond with good food service. Nice free breakfast. We will come back to the Palazzo.

close to some of must-see sights

The location is good because it is close to the famous places in Cebu. Before I booked my reservation I read a lot of reviews that their staffs are accommodating and friendly but they weren't. We asked one of their staff to take a picture of us before we leave the hotel but we waited for nothing. She just ignored us, so in the end we just took our own pictures in solo. Probably those people that they were referring is no longer working there :-(

quiet place to stay

I like this hotel with its friendly staff and cordial greeting. They treat guests like family members. The hotel is nestled quitely from the busy streets but that won't keep you from visiting cebu spots as taxis roam around and most drivers know the place. The hotel ambiance is warm and cozy; you'd like you're in your home. One thing I quite doesn't like much are the sheets and covers of bed and blankets to the towels. They're quite cold as they seem to be too used; maybe bec of the price you pay. It would be a 5 for me if this will improve. I surely would come back to the hotel in my future visits and would recommend the place.

The staff is friendly and nice. They helped if we needed any help for example with ferry schedules. Breakfast was included. The room was clean and nice, with big TV and wifi. The hot water mixer in the shower was not working so you'd had to wash yourself either icecold or damn hot water... They had a bit noisy redecoration going on there, which we didn't know beforehand, but it wasn't a problem with sleeping.

Palazzo staff are pleasant and helpful but not at all sophisticated in their own field. Any question pertaining to subjects out side the Physical hotel will be met with a look somewhere between Puzzled and 'Deer caught in the headlights\".

The location is described as \" in a quiet neighborhood\". To Philippino's it might seem so.To you and I It's in residential area with narrow streets, ubiquitous barking dogs, crowing roosters, noisy vendors, and loud tricycles. The room was nice, comfy bed, good hot water, good T.V. (lousy channel selection) and clean. BUT, 2 get to my room I had to walk past the reception desk, thru the dining /Kitchen room, out to a local clothes washing common area, thru a function room, up three flights of stairs.
Would I stay there again? Yeah, because where in the Philippines can you find a place in that price range with out those usual complaints?

FOOD? Barf-- order take out from the usual Places. Yellow cab pizza was good. Expect an hour for delivery from any of them.

Clean and comfortable - terrible breakfast =)

Cebu City is not a very nice place, but this hotel is ok. It was quite cheap for two peopleand it was totally worth. With aircon, and it was clean and comfortable. The reception lady was not the nicest and the breakfast was terrible, but for one night totally ok for that price.
