What stood out is what normally stands out here, the staff. From the front desk to dining room to the bar at the beach to the housekeeper. All awesome. I imagine I will be able to mention names later in the review.

Overall, the check-in and out went very well and mostly due to friendly staff. My room was upgraded, which was a nice surprise and it was clean and near the beach. I actually only stayed one night of a 2-night booking since I had to return to the city earlier.

The main disappointment was the food this time. Dinner was fair, but I only got a pizza and it did not come as I requested, even after they tried to fix it. I arrived late for the breakfast buffet and the food was mostly cold and the crispy bacon, not so crispy.

I didn't like my stay. I was suppose to be in a deluxe room but was “upgraded” to premium deluxe. The “premium” deluxe was around the construction area where noice starts almost early morning and ends after sunset. My fiancé was uncomfortable going out the room because there were guys from the construction looking.

Overall, the room was nice (we stayed in a spa suite) and it was quiet, though we had lots of noise from the street from our bathroom and we could hear the noise from the pool as well. The food selection on site was expensive and not tasty at all- we had three different meals there and it was not good. We did have a facial at the spa and that was lovely. Overall, the pool and the beach were lovely, but I don’t think I would book here again

All the staff were very attentive of their guests’ needs, very helpful, friendly, courteous & respectful. The breakfast buffet was amazing! A lot of good food, hot & cold choices, they were delicious. A variety of Filipino food & western food. There were 3 pools & if you have small kids, one of the pool will be perfect for them. They have a good size beach front. But you must wear beach/water shoes. Although they provide flip flops. The room that we stayed in had a good working AC, which kept us pretty comfortable since the weather in the Philippines is very warm & humid. Downside is the bathroom, it needs a little updating. But otherwise water pressure was good, it has hot & cold water. Beds were comfortable, clean & fresh smelling sheets. Room was clean. Had a good, working small refrigerator that kept our drinks cold and the tiny freezer was strong enough to make some ice using our bottled water. A microwave in the room would be nice & convenient, they didn’t have that, but an electric water kettle was available in the room.
There were plenty of available beach activities for a reasonably priced fees. There’s a walking distance grocery store, safe currency exchange, McDonald's & good local restaurants. The drawback of its location is going to Cebu City, it’s not far but there’s traffic. We used Grab to go to the city, or walked to the grocery store nearby. Over all, our 8 day stay in Bluewater Maribago Beach Resort was very good & enjoyable. Well satisfied customer!

Overall, the property is so old. The rooms has a urine like odor or musty. Barely warm shower water. Bathroom tiles are moldy all over and towels are old. Doors are flimsy and no window as you close it. You feel like you’re in a cave as you cannot see the outside. Food is good, wait staff are good. Service at the bar is very slow at the pool side.

I love this place! Very peaceful and tranquil. The rooms are large and very comfortable. I always feel at peace here. You wake up to the sounds of birds singing. Lots of trees and has a private beach. There are hammocks. Very clean. Highly recommend ♥️

Enjoyed our stay mostly because of their staff - all very warm and accommodating. No one can beat the Filipino hospitality. Resort was ok. Liked the pool more than the beach. Breakfast buffet had a good selection and so was the dinner buffet. We also enjoyed their Valentines special with the Cebu Philharmonic Orchestra serenading guests while having dinner by the beach. So romantic!

The food was orrpared well. Grouper was 600 pesos per 100 grams. So small grouoer cost over 3000 pesos. Way too much.

The staff were excellent. I had a bad back and the nurse came around in my room and checked on me. Area was okay accessible to all transport and lots of restaurants nearby. The downside of this hotel is their food pricing so expensive and only few choices. Breakfast is buffet and lots of selection. There are 3 restaurants the main restaurants is the Allegro near the reception and 2 by the seaside. We had a pleasant stay here and we will stay here again.

All of the staff working the front where great with the exception of the LGBT person, I don't know that person at all but by the way I was treated by them you would have thought I had do e something personal to them. Our room service lady was extremely exceptional. The cable box didn't work on the first day and the AC wasn't working properly on the last day. Food for the first 4 day was delivered cold then cool hfor three days than back to cool. We started eating off the property.

It was a disappointing trip 😔 our room is amuma which is more expensive than regular room but we do not have a safetybox no whole body mirror, room is so outdated for being so pricey! Buffet is so expensive but the service is so poor we had to ask for coffee to 4 different waitresses before they gave us coffee.Our trip supposed to have a free breakfast but hotel said it was not included! Not coming back as theres a lot more beautiful resorts that is way cheaper than maribago bluewater!

At check in the staff told me, \"To tell you the truth, we only have two rooms. I cannot give you four rooms.\" I argued with the staff and I said that I booked and paid for 4 rooms last March 15. Then he said that I have to wait 45 minutes before he could check us in, but the check in is 3 pm. The staff was rude, that I had to call someone- a friend- who works at this resort. This person called the staff and was instructed to check us in. Why do I have to call someone to make the check in process easier? The resort also did not want to honor my booking with Expedia, saying every time my guests and I go to breakfast that we do not have breakfast. The staff asked me to sing the bill for breakfast so they can bill Expedia. There is also no blue water at their beach but instead blackwater. We took a boat ride the next day and paid PHP9,000 to the boatman who took us to the a nearby island where the water is blue (about 20 minutes boat ride). The pool by the cottage is also dirty, with food being left, and a cat was scavenging for food. The patio tables are not being cleaned. The dining area smelled unpleasant (bathroom smell) probably because the venue for dining is close to the bathroom. For the price that I paid $140.41 per night, it is not worth the money and the stay.

The resort is ok. Not stunning, not great, just typical. It is inconvenient that the beach is unswimmable (if that's the word), not enough water in the morning. Front desk was very hard to reach. Not fast enough to accommodate.

I know that the food is good here that's why I booked this mainly for the \"free breakfast.\" BUT IT IS NOT INCLUDED!!! You're given a bill even when you're not yet even done eating. I already paid $350CAD for 3 adults, 2 nights. I wasted many hours of contacting expedia and the hotel for the deceitful advertising.

It’s was ok. Over all the place was wide and relaxing. Chirping birds around. Small bamboo stress. Some stuff are friendly Some not. Some area is close due to renovation. Pool is dirty probably shortage of stuff due to covid-19. Beach is ok it was low tide when we’re there.. towels are old very old. Food was great. Oh the massage was the best!!! Loved the Bluewater resort, great people and facilities with a lovely bay and beach. My son was there to take his Padi certificate and was well looked after. Only real complaint is weekends are busy and abit noisy with bigger families staying and the pool and restaurants get crowded.

My friend and I stayed at Bluewater Maribago for 3 nights at the end of June and our stay was impeccable. We were a little hesitant at first as check in seemed slightly chaotic but nothing too serious. In fact our stay was amazing - the resort itself is beautiful with 3 pools, the service and staff were great (big shout out to Cyril the bar tender at the beach bar and Juliano one of the waiting staff) and our room was big with a huge, modern bathroom (Amuma Suite). Also worth mentioning was the great breakfast - lots of choice and good quality food. Would definitely stay at Bluewater Maribago if visiting Mactan Island again given our fantastic stay - really nice hotel.

Most uncomfortable bed ever & flavourless food

I stayed here for 2 nights in April while travelling the Philippines. I was really disappointed with my stay. The bed was shocking and I woke up with the worst back pain caused by a mattress in my entire life. For a resort like this, I was not expecting such a poor quality mattress. I also found the food to be really underwhelming, it was flavourless. The worst part was the breakfast spread, which seemed entirely catered to Korean and Chinese guests. I ended up having bread for breakfast. There was a lovely spread of fresh fruit, but when I went to get some I realised the air conditioning unit above was broken and frozen over and spraying aircon water all over the fruit table! And nobody seemed to care! Legionnaire’s anyone? I will admit that the room was nicely decorated, clean and had a nice view over the pool. The staff were also friendly. If you are a family from Korea or China, this resort will be perfectly suited to you. It’s more of a family resort for going kids, so not really suitable for adults wanting some peace and quiet.

Overcharged me for Dinner!!!!

They charged me 3 times for 1 dinner and have after 1 week failed to reverse charges on my credit card. Instead they just give excuses. They even admitted to the mistake due to slow internet and repeatedly trying to charge to my card then later finding out that the charges went through. Very poor ethics and lack of integrity! Otherwise it’s a nice place to stay!

Staff kept the whole very clean and theu were very pleasant. While there were 3 pools, all had noisy children. Why not designate 1 pool adults only?

The beach was horrible as the water was full of rocks and weeds and nobody went swimming.

Outside the resort was challenging to walk around with almost no sidewalks and really dirty and busy.

Bamboo clumps by pool were beautiful and gave great shade from sun.

Breakfast is complementary and was very good. Except one morning when bacon was 20 minutes late (how can you serve eggs with no bacon?)

For slightly more money, for a more elegant, modern and serene stay try Movenpic hotel, in a better location by a ferry terminal.

The resort was really lovely, our room was comfortable and the staff were outstanding - so very helpful. The beach is a secluded bay, make sure you wear swim shoes as there's a lot of seaweed and also sea urchins. The staff work hard to keep the beach clean. We enjoyed our stay there, the staff really made our holiday fantastic - they couldn't do enough for us. Thank you, Bluewater Maribago!
