The room was so dirty was hair everywhere from the previous guest. They changed my room finally after wasting so much time. The new room is smaller and the Internet did not work throughout my whole day so I could not work or watch TV. I called many times and there’s a technician is on his way. St Mark Hotel provides exceptional and courteous service. The staff makes you feel like nobility (based on what I’ve seen on Upstairs Downstairs since I am not nobility). Everyone is so positive and helpful. Large quiet room. Very clean. Comfy beds and large towels. Mini-refrigerator. I was pleasantly surprised that breakfast was included as part of my package. Breakfast was delicious - buffet style with varied selections provided each day. In addition, the restaurant is open all day. Robinsons Market, Pure Gold Market and Seven Eleven easy walking distance. Fresh fruit stand a minute away. Highly recommend staying here.

Do not stay here! I had a terrible experience. The air conditioner never worked. I called the stay , they came up and cleaned the filter in my bathroom sink, leaving dirt and water everywhere, then put the filter in and said it was working and left. It turned on for 5 minutes then shut off. Kept doing that. It was very loud when it did, but would blow mildly cool air then would shut off. The showers was dripping all night. Had to take an advil pm to get through the night. The pictures for the hotel are not real, I don’t know where they came from, but the hotel is rundown. Do yourself a favor and look at other options. Also the towels weee stained and dirty, I did not want to use the shower either.

I have to say this place had the most comfortable bed I slept in so far on my 2 weeks in the Philippines. The staff were amazing and helped me with my laundry and did other general things for me. However the Hot water wasn't available for the evening I was staying there.

Very good but two issues

Best bed I have slept ok on a 4 month south east Asia trip. Staff are excellent. Close to a kfc and other restaurants. Room is great- perfect size with balcony, clean and well appointed. I have deducted a star bc the internet basically was not working at all. The staff did try to help but nothing worked. Also the hot water is basically luke warm at best.

It’s a convenient location only 0.5 to 1 km walk from the ATM, drug stores, Ching Hua hospital and Cebu Doctor’s Hospital and many restaurants. The room is clean, large, attractive and modern. The breakfast buffet is simple but acceptably good. During the day, it’s a little noisy because of the street noise. Overall I liked it. It’s a good value and I recommend it.

First impressions were positive with a friendly check in experience. The room was OK, but a bit worn and tatty. There was no hot water. We reported the problem and were told that it could not be fixed until the next day. It was late, so we accepted this. The next morning we again reported the problem before going out. We returned early afternoon and only then did 'the engineer' come to check the problem. He could not fix it, mentioning something about a centralises system. Senior Management did their best to avoid us, leaving junior staff to handle our complaint. They offered another room, again no hot water. Finally they said they could bring buckets of hot water for us to wash with. Call be fussy, but I think running hot water is a prerequisite for a 3 star hotel. We asked for our money back so we could move hotels. They refused, saying it was not their policy. We decided to leave. We booked into the Quest hotel for slightly more money than we paid at St Mark. It turned out to be vastly superior.

We were very happy with this hotel. It was clean, spacious, comfortable, and the staff were great. They even handed out complimentary cookies with personalised, hand written tags on NYE which was very sweet. The only complaint was the lack of hot water in the shower. The area also didn’t feel that safe late at night. Other than that, we had a great stay!

This hotel has always been my go-to hotel the last 5-6 times I've visited Cebu. But, this time it was disappointing. The rooms were the same with comfort level on par. But, you can really feel like this hotel is struggling now. The last time I visited, was only 3-4 months ago, and now there was only 1 person I recognized -the head chef. Completely new staff otherwise, which suggests a very high turnover rate. And after observing everyone, there are no more smiles.. that make you feel welcome. The breakfast buffet is no longer suggested to be included in your package. Even this one, has seen budget cuts and selection has been limited. Juices offered are powdered substitutes, not the \"fresh\" taste. The food is still good overall. The Wifi internet seems to have been downgraded as well, as speed to connect on devices is limited. In our room, the signal to reach the internet was almost nonexistent, forcing me to leave the comfort of my room for a seat in the hall when conducting business on my laptop. Also, every night there was some type of private gathering in the cafe below us. This accompanied loud music until 11pm most nights. The hotel did issue notices delivered to the door each day for these parties, but that didn't dull the inconvenience of having the sound booming beneath your feet. This is still a great place with a comfortable bed to lay your head at night. Just don't expect more than that. Convenient location, but lots of homeless all around on both sides.

To be fair, the hotel is not bad. Rooms are clean, but show some signs of wear and age. The beds were surprisingly more comfortable than I expected. The rooms were quiet and no complaints about noise. The water in the shower had a sulfur smell, I suggest letting it run before getting in.
Staff was friendly and attentive.
Food, breakfast/lunch buffet is not good at the restaurant at hotel. I must admit that there were not many choices for quality dining in the area either.
Neighborhood around hotel is rather impoverished. I did not have any issues regarding crime, and found most people to be friendly, but not a great area to be in general.
The sidewalks and roadways are in very bad condition. Please take note if you have any mobility issues or are disabled, you may endure some difficulties in getting around.
Nightlife consisted of mostly girly bars, looking for \"customers\" for the evening.
My complaints are about the location and not the hotel or staff.
This is a 3 star hotel in a 1 star area.
If I ever return to the area, I could stay again.

St. Mark has always been my \"go to\" hotel whenever i stay in Cebu. Each time i come back, there seems to be at least 1 possitive change. Not only do they have everything a foreigner on a budget needs, they seem to go above and beyond expectaions every time.

Their rooms are very comfortable and spacious. The furniture is updated. Flat screen tv's with an excellent array of local and foreign cable tv channels including all of the major news stations except Fox.

The beds are comfortable. A/C is top notch with a room cool-down in minutes of activation and without the hideous window mount.

Breakfast buffet still has a decent selection of foods. Though i have seen a drop in selection over time. Still highly recommend including the breafast in with your stay.

St. Mark: excellent job on the new menus! They look very well done and professional!

All around, this hotel has won my continued loyalty.

I miss Cebu City so much I want to come back. St. Mark is a cool and chill hotel. I didn't eat at their restaurant but I did browse the menu and it looks delicious serving up local dishes. St. Mark is located just a few minutes walk away from restaurants, Mango Square, bars, and shops. At night I recommend Larsian Food Market. This hotel has friendly staff and ensure to keep the hotel as clean as possible. I had no trouble or no issues here. Comfortable bed and quiet rooms. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Lot of places you can walk to near the hotel. I recommend this hotel to anyone and I would come back.

I booked a Sedan for airport pick up but the driver was not shown up. Though the receptionist said the driver has been waiting for more than 2 hours with holding signage, I don’t trust her. With the same receptionist, she told me that it would cost P500 to P700 from hotel to the port of Mactan and suggested me to book a car and would only charge me P650. Since I don’t trust her, I took taxi and it costs only P360. The hotel room is ok but the towel looks dirty.

My wife and I stay at St Mark normally 2 times a year for several days at a time.we have fallen in love with the hot shower, clean rooms, amazing staff, great breakfasts, good wifi and memory foam beds. The location was the icing in the cake. Each time we came back, welcome drink, warm greeting and even a sweet note or a fruit plate. Lovely. However, this last time: they dropped the ball. We always stay in a superior room. Always. Now the room had: missing slippers, missing toothbrushes, missing face washcloths, the breakfast was trimmed down and disappointing...no sweet longanisa. the wifi was non existent. the weigh scale was missing, the sofa chairs were removed, lamps on the bedsides removed, less toiletries (lotions gone), no welcome drink provided, no nice note, no fruit plate and upon check in was no warm welcome...simply \"here sign this\". The staff have always been great, rooms very clean. When I asked what the situation was I was told \"we are remodeling and redecorating\".....normally this means AN UPGRADE....not slashing and stripping away all the nice things! And on top of it...every single time we had 4 fluffy pillows, a pretty runner...now only 2 pillows and they have the NERVE to charge....charge 50 pesos for an additional one! I hope the manager reads this: We are returning on Thursday Feb 22 for several days. I hope you can MAKE THIS RIGHT. OR...........this will be our last stay at St Mark, period. And don't tell me these amenities are Deluxe room only!

The room is perfect!

It was a fantastic staycation and we reli love our room; very spacious with fantastic view esp the veranda and most of all, the only hotel that has a flat iron. Wi-Fi was excellent and air con functioned well. The only nega was their lobby or their receiving area since it was a bit untidy and they should work on the clealiness and maintenance on the area. Nevertheless, this hotel is highly recommended. Kudos!

Good value: basic Western amenities done well

I'd stay here again especially when high season prices push up 4 star hotel prices. The value proposition here is smaller rooms than expensive 4 star hotels, but with good inclusions: bed, bathroom, wardrobes, benches, chairs. Staff are also helpful.
Lesser strengths are fair rather than good breakfasts and the location - essentially a P100-P200 taxi away from 5 star Hotels, and high quality restaurants and malls. But if such places are not your thing, then that's no issue, LOL.

I have visited the Philippines many times now, and have stayed in many different hotels, and St. Marks is my go-to whenever I am in Cebu. The Rooms are big, bedding comfortable, and food in their cafe is tasty. And its fairly priced for the level of service and comfort they bring. I still recommend purchasing the rates that include breakfast. The breakfast is definitely worth exploring. They still offer the eggs/omelet cooked to order as well as pancakes. Plus an array of local recipes. This hotel never disappoints!

My first room had a bath but the plug was broken so couldn't have a bath plus the fridge wasn't working i changed rooms the 2 nd toom the ac didn't work well had it on for 3 hours the room still hadn't cooled down the ac never reached the bathroom and it was beside the ac everytime u walked in to the bathroom it was hot plus when you turn the lights off at night time the light on the ac was very bright and light up the room plus coming back from the bar 1 night the guard there was sleeping with a gun around him so anyone could have got this gun the only good thing about the hotel is the hotel was great and its close to mango will i be staying here again no because there are better hotel out there and the guards are always awake

As already stated, the staff are very friend and to service provided was fantastic. Spent the week here with my girlfriend and will definitely use this hotel again. Room service and the WiFi facilities were perfect

Awesome hotel in a Great Location!

This hotel is a fantastic choice if you are looking to keep within a budget, but still want all of the amenities! I am an American and this was my first stay at this hotel. I stayed for 9 days and I guarantee I will be back on my next vacation to Cebu! The rooms have a wonderfully comfortable bed with multiple layers of sheets and a blanket, as well as 4 queen size comfortable pillows. new/relatively new furnishings, a desk and closet with a large (big enough for a labtop) safe inside. Dependable and fast Wifi. Cable TV with a good selection of channels. The bathroom also has a shower that can easily and comfortably fit 4 people inside. Hot/warm water. And The A/C is not hanging from a Window! -It is built into a ventilation shaft in the center or the room, with a remote to activate it cooling Fast and staying cool in the room.
The Cafe offers a Wonderful breakfast buffet. I definitely recommend adding into your package. The cafe also serves a limited selection of food for lunch and dinner. They do have room service and adequate staff to make deliveries as soon as the food is available to be served.
Because of the limited selection, I purchased ingredients outside, and the cafe staff was more than accommodating and prepared the meals I purchased with a very minimal service fee.
Fast and friendly staff at the check in counters that greeted me every day I passed through. The Staff in general is very friendly and easy to engage with.
Love this hotel!

Nice hotel in a good location

We enjoyed this hotel except for one thing. We liked where it was located. The parking was easy and convenient. It was easy to get to the room and the staff were excellent. I booked this on Expedia and it said it came with a breakfast. When we arrived it did not come with a breakfast which was fine. After researching I found that the ad says breakfast but when you go to book, it defaults on a setting which is without breakfast and it was about $1.00 less money. I did not notice that when booking. Felt a little tricked.

This is not why I was not happy. The thing that we don't like is not having a top sheet on the bed. Everyone sleeps in a bed with the comforter on top of them and there is no sheet between them and the comforter. We just wonder who has been sleeping in the bed with the comforter on them since it has been last washed. We also found found a big clump of human hair by our feet in the bed. It was probably on the floor and stuck to the comforter when the maid put it on the bed. It just kind of grossed us out and we did not sleep that good thinking about what has happened in the bed since all was last washed.

Other than this the price was excellent. I guess I am use to staying in 4 star hotels and tried to save a little money with a 3 star.

Very comfortable stay not far from Ayala.

I stayed in St Mark hotel room 512 for only one night. Staff very friendly, smiling, welcoming... Room perfect even not too big, but enough for me. Bathroom quite perfect except only one small soap... Breakfast was excellent and eggs perfectly cooked...(so rare in the Philippines....). Very good address... for sure will go back.

Very near to shops and main districts

Decent place to stay, its comfortable just an issue with wifi , the internet needs work but its Cebu..and they're known for not having very good internet. Otherwise ,everything else was good, the staff were friendly and the rooms were nice, I can't find any fault with the hotel.
