I like the location and the staff and that they go about their functions in a orderly manner.
The room was nice.
But could do with a bit of sprucing up.
A moveable table would do good.
The bathroom lighting leaves a lot to be desired for shaving as it is quite dim.
And, I did face a lot of problems with WiFi connectivity; which I wish that the owners would look into.

All-in-all, I will definitely visit the place again, when I am in Cebu next.

1. There is no table in the room. If we need to have food.

Central Hotel close to all facilities & beautiful

Rooms are basic, but they are kept very clean and the staff including the guards are very, very friendly and helpful. We spent 5 days there and it was always good to come “home” at the end of the day.

The guards out the front would most of the time be a step ahead of us in what we would need and along with the other staff and the amenities made our stay seamless.

Thank you to all the staff you made our stay not only comfortable but memorable.

Very poor place to stay! You can do better!

My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks, so I think i have a pretty good idea about the amenities and services offered here. First of all, the service was poor. Really only two of the people that were working there seemed to know or care about their jobs or the comfort of the guests. The girls that greeted us there when we arrived treated us like they were doing us a favour letting us stay there, rather than like guests. I didn't feel welcome, cared for, accommodated, or humanised. I wasn't crashing at my friends pad for two weeks, I was a cash paying customer and expected to be treated hospitably. Moreover, the staff are in the habit of making rude remarks to the guests in Tagalog or Cebuano and that is wrong on so many levels. I can't explain why it happened, other than due to a lack of training or sheer unprofessionalism, but it was uncalled for. My girlfriend, a Filipino, agreed so herself. Lastly, we had a lot of mosquitos in our room, ants on the walls, and after only 3 or 4 days of staying at the Escario, our shower drain clogged, flooding the bathroom. There also was construction going on in a new restaurant just a ways from where were were staying. There was cutting, sawing, banging, laughing, scraping going on till 2:00, 3:00, and sometimes 4:00am for almost a week. I pleaded with hotel staff to have it stopped or controlled practically every night, but it went on and on. It bears worth saying that the best part of our stay at the Escario was leaving.

The best thing about this hotel is that it is not vertical. No hassle of taking the elevator because everything you need outside your room (like resto, convenience store, transpo) is just a few steps away. Very cleam and comfy, it's like a hotel that has the feels of a homey resort. Another thing is, it is within the heart of the city. Considering Cebu's terrible traffic, you can go anywhere in the city by all means of transpo.

Good service...feels like a resort, chalet style

I am overall quite impress with my stay. Convenient location with many food eateries. Feels like a resort stay. The only problem I had was the bed. It seems to be dirty and dusty. Don't know when was the last time the bed was changed. But I am particularly impress with their friendly service and stable WIFI connection. There was even a power circuit blackout in that street but the hotel has a power generator backup so only the hotel has lights. Well done!

A good hotel in Cebu Capitol area.

A nice mid-priced hotel in Cebu Capitol area. Escario is well-located, and the rooms are simple but comfortable. Good shower, TV, free wifi, but no safe, no desk, coffe-making facility nor minibar. The 7/11 and a good Italian restaurant/pizzeria are just around the corner. The PHP 500 deposit is a bit weird, but this is the Philippines...

The room had absolutely no amenities. No desk, chair{s}, refrigerator, or anything to keep water and other beverages cool. No hot water in the sink for shaving. The staff informed, me when I inquired, the hot water was in the shower head. The shower water was \"luke warm\" at best, not suitable for a good shave.

The beds appeared to be in excess of 20 years, probably the original one installed. The beds were not sturdy--when you rolled over in bed, they would move.

A Great Value Hotel at the Uptown Area of Cebu

The minute I entered I felt that I was properly accommodated and took care of properly by the staff. They will always give me a change of towel, 2 bottles of water, soap and shampoo every day of my stay (I stayed for 6 days)

The location is great as it is close to my seminar place. It offers the privacy I wanted but close to the happening of the area. I was lucky to witness a car show and a rave party within my weeks stay. The restaurants are great...love ZUBUCHON and CAFE SAFFRE

McDonalds and across the street from 24 hr.Jolibee ...Very Comfortable hotel, clean and has good size rooms... Good wireless internet. 25 minutes taxi ride to Airport except during morning and early evening rush hour. would stay here again. Some taxi drivers do not know where it is. Tell them the Escario hotel on Escario street, right across the street from Jolibee in the 7-11 shopping center. The Maxwell hotel is also across the street

Newer hotel 18 min walk from Ayala mall.. Clean and well maintained. would stay here again.. across the street there is a 24 hr. Jolibe and next to hotel there is a 24 hr McDonalds . some taxi drivers do not know where it is.. Just tell them it is across the street from the Maxwell hotel on Escario street, in the shopping center with the 7-11 .

Hotel is new Americanized one but the bar soap was caustic and there is NO cell phone signal there at all due to its design flaw. Wasted a lot of space to set up garden style accommodation which is adequate, but hard to find place nestled inside a mini-Mall.

Check in was fast but they require you to pay a Php500 deposit. The gentleman at the reception is very nice and friendly and always approachable. The housekeeping service staffs are awesome. They are quick, keeping your rooms nice and tidy. My laundry was nicely done and I like the housekeeping staffs very much. The hotel is near to 7-Eleven and many other eateries. Taxi fare to Ayala big shopping mall was about php50 and you can find all brand in the big shopping mall.

The area just outside the hotel is safe, clean, modern with cafe, restaurants and 7-11. COnvenient to walk to Ayala for shopping or get taxi. Not near beach though which is on Mactan island. But can get a cab there. about 300-400 pesos. hotel is really new and clean.

Rooms were pretty clean. I liked it but you should bring your own shampoo and body wash which is not a big deal at all.
There is a big ayala mall you can walk if you want it takes around 10minutes. Taxi or bus takes around 3-4minutes
And also there are good coffe shop and restaurants and seven eleven near the hotel. Perfect. I paid around 34bucks per night.

The price was right but the bathroom left a lot to be desired. Water on the floor from a leaking fixture but fortunately most of the water ended up in the shower. Shower floor and walls very moldy. A clean bathroom in any hotel should be a top priority regardless of price and for that I will not return. Hotel location is located behind a commercial mini mall and difficult to find.

Nice Concept with lots of useful shops around

I like the concept of the hotel; it's got a nice feel to it. The rooms are big and clean, and so was the common area of the hotel. It might be a little difficult to find because it's situated at the end of a dead end Street, but look out for Shell, McDonald's and Jolibee for they're right at the beginning of the street leading to the hotel. Which brings me to the point of shop.

Right outside this hotel you'll find the above 3 shops that I've just mentioned, and also 7-11, a couple of eateries and a pub/bar. Zubuchon (supposedly the best Lechon, or roast pig, the famous dish in Cebu) is also within 5 minutes walk. Ayala mall is a short taxi ride away.

The only complaint I had was this place uses old air conditioners. They are typically noisy and not efficient, especially in the day when it's hot. hot. But since I don't stay in the hotel in the day, it's not an issue for me. The noise it makes bothered me at night, though.

I thought the room was really small when I saw the pictures on the internet, but it was actually ok. Our room was really clean and I couldn't see any signs of \"wear and tear\" around. The beds were comfy. The bathroom was clean. The place was relaxing, quiet, peaceful. Checking in and out of the hotel was really fast. Friendly and helpful staff. Nearby the hotel are a variety of restos, coffee shops, convenience store, salon and spa. Very good location. Overall, this is a very good hotel at the rates they're offering.

Escario central is a nice little boutique hotel, definitely worth the room rate you pay. It doesn't have any facility like swimming pool, gym etc and it also doesn't have a kitchen of its own but there are plenty of eating places in the lane where this hotel is located. We stayed there with two small children and we could walk with them to Ayala center and to Fuente Osmena.

A small gem in the city centre of Cebu

Excellent and rewarding choice for any short-term visitor of Cebu. Friendly, discreet and helpful staff, patches of green nature everywhere around, was a bit sleepy during my stay there because the place really feels like a peaceful and quiet oasis. Great places to eat and chill out only a few metres away, one of the famous lechon restaurants in Cebu around the corner of the parking lot, the Wi-Fi connection was also fast and reliable.
Don't regret the pick of Escario Central Hotel at all, and would gladly repeat it next year.

Perfect for (True) Romantic Getaways

The only downside was locating the hotel for the first time. Taxi drivers are not always familiar with it, even though they know the area. Once you get to the right block, you will find it fast. The entrance is behind a new retail-restaurant complex - look for the HUGE billboards and signs!! Walk from your room to a wonderful assortment of restaurants without even getting to the street. The rooms resemble cute private cottages, and they have AC, are clean, and are very comfortable! We loved our time at Escario Central, with our only regret being that we had not booked a longer stay with them!! I strongly recommend visiting Escario Central for your Romantic Getaway.

Budget hotel in a quiet secluded place

Escario Central is a bungalow type of housing with some gardens at the side. It gives a relaxing ambiance. The orange bedroom offers 2 comfortable queen-sized beds with an adequate room space. The bathroom is clean but quite dated which can be improved. Concierge service was efficient. There are restaurants a few minutes within the vicinity and a 7-11 store, which makes it convenient for guests. Overall satisfied with our stay considering our budget.

The hotel is modern and generally in great condition except for the wifi, which failed on the last day. We stayed in an Orange room. The design is simple and functional, with no extra frills. The beds really are as good or better than the hotel website description, and everything was clean. However the best feature is the helpfulness of the front desk management. I lost my air ticket on the last day, and the Front desk staff spent more than half an hour helping me resolve this. Really good!

A very quiet and clean place. Each room has 2 beds, an A/C and TV but no extra perks. There are at least a half dozen restaurants of various foods and price ranges available within walking distance as well as a 7/11 for minor purchases. We stayed twice, each time for 2 days. Our second room (room 120) had a small hole in the wall behind the bathroom sink so we had ants. Since they don't bite, I didn't care as every tropical country has bugs. But, I did forget to mention it to management. In my observation, the hotel is quick to fix problems and stay on top of regular maintenance. So, I feel that once they read this comment, they will have the hole repaired ASAP.

I stayed in an Orange Room for 3 nights. The pros:
* New hotel, clean.
* Good location, adjacent to Escario Central Plaza, with a 7-11, a 24-hour McDonalds, and other cafes. It's a 5-min taxi ride to Ayala Center.
* Super efficient AC, cools the room in 3 minutes.
* Great and free wi-fi, no dropped connection in 3 days.
* Ample closet space
* ok, basic, no frills bathroom, with plenty of hot water in the shower.
* Good friendly service from the staff. The cons:
* Not a single chair in the room(!) even though there is plenty of empty space, and the room is intended for 1-4 people. Trying to use your laptop becomes an adventure.
* No mini fridge, which frankly is inexcusable in the Philippines.
* The hotel's distinguishing feature becomes its liability. The cabana/bungalow-type rooms, even though away from the deafening traffic outside, suffer from the internal \"people\" traffic just outside your room, whether it's the guests or the room cleaning staff. And the thin walls and a huge window facing the common area don't help either. Don't plan on sleeping late here. Overall, for only 2-3 days it's a good option.

Basic hotel amenities. Very good internet and cable tv. I booked an orange room and then red room for second visit. for different prices - ended up getting same type of room. Limited baggage storage services. Many cafes and McDonalds just next door. Jeepney and taxi service close by to Ayala Mall and Robinson's Fuente Mall. Good basic hotel - clean and relatively new, and reasonably priced.

Great location, hidden gem! Searched for ages for a good place to stay for our 2 nights in Cebu and this was ideal - nice chalets instead of a tower block and we walked (although only once!) all way down to the port for an exploration so it is doable!

Nice little hotel.

Clean hotel and very accommodating staff. Although the hotel itself is small, the rooms are big unlike some hotels in Cebu in the same category. We would definitely stay here again.

Mediocre at best

The only good thing I can say about this place is that was very clean. The rest was no that good. Location is OK, about 10 min ride to Ayala mall and 25 min ride to SM mall. Response to a guest requests in this place greatly depends on who is on shift at the front desk. I had to request 3 times to put some oil on the door, it was making crazy noise. Same happened when we needed a water. Basically you have to go to reception and drug someone with you back to the room to get things done.

If you want fresh its still there. Had two rooms for the family. If it's busy you will see and hear other clients going past your window. Light from walkway illuminates the room at night. One room the shower head had the water coming out sideways, requested it fixed so we could shower, don't think they understood, returned 8 hours later. Job completed in 5 minutes once I complained again. Could do with oiling some doors, sorting out redirecting dripping air con unit water in the doorway.... Simple stuff to bring it up a knotch. overall clean and safe.

Good hotel for the price just a taxi ride away from Ayala mall , room ok good beds but shower and wash basin need to be upgraded .Wifi worked ok to begin with but then dropped out had to go to the garden to get online .They make you leave a 500 peso deposit for the room but you get it back when you check out again for breakables i think.

Great Service Makes Budget Stay Exceptional

Frankly, I was shocked to receive such EXCEPTIONAL service from a moderaterly priced hotel. The staff is always nice and accomodating, but go above and beyond to ensure you are safe and happy. The hotel is on an odd setting, a strip mall with a 7-11, a restaurant, a boba tea shop, a nail and hair salon, soon to be a coffee house and some others (a 24 hr McDonald's is next door). It is relatively new and relatively clean. The rooms are not large, but adequate, and clean. The neighborhood is probably typical of a growing Cebu, a mix of burgeoning new business and big air conditioned offices next to more traditional dwellings. It is still odd to have armed guards everywhere, but that is not unique to this neighborhood or hotel and is actuall somewhat comforting. The hotel is in a central area, about a 5 minute walk from the Capital and about 5 minute taxi to the Ayala Mall. Overall, this would be a good value, but because of the exceptional staff it is a GREAT VALUE.

Staying Again!

It was a great decision to stay at ECH, the room were clean and the ambiance was cool, felt likes I'm home.. Friendly staff and the service was good..love the location close to all must-see-sights.. My suggestion is add more facilities and amenities...Good luck!

We extended our stay

Room was extraordinary clean. location was convenient. (24hours convenience store, McDonald, Local massage shop were in short walking distance. We could even walk to the Ayala mall.) Hotel itself maintained very well. super clean room. Room wifi was not very good but there is a place to seat in a small cute garden we could enjoy the fast wifi over there. Staff was also very friendly. I can surely say this new hotel would be a top in whole cebu city very soon.

Simply Simple that's worth your penny!

It's a cute boutique hotel with an almost 5-star customer service attitude! Rock-bottom price for everything you could ask for a hotel: Comfortable beds and not to mention the beds are huge singles (I got the \"Orange Room\", I was surprise my room got a flat screen with that price); the bathroom size was ok, acceptable for tall people taking showers, I wish they put shelves at the sink to put your toiletries/stuff on it; it's relatively new, so it's very clean; quiet halls (which I like); and location-wise: just minutes away to all the major touristy and business areas of Cebu. It's right next to a 7/11 convenience store, 24 hour McDonald's, and other interesting shops and restaurants all at the relative safety of the hotel/mall strip complex. They don't have room service but they offer to deliver McDonald's to my room. In conclusion, they compensate simple room amenities with excellent service! I would definitely stay here again! Cheers!
