we liked the location of the place: you are only a 5 Min walk from the Lamai night market and lots of restaurants. we loved the beach access and they have their own loungers: every time we came, we could find a nice spot in the shade. They have a very nice pool, very clean. The breakfast was great and every day some different foods. the Staff was very friendly and helpful - that was really outstanding. We had a room with a sea view - so it was on the top floor but nice in the shade starting at noon, so perfect to enjoy the balcony. They also rent scooters.
So what was not so our favorite: we are non-smokers, and as the room is a non-smoking - if you have neighbours they smoke on their balcony and you smell it, nearly every day when we were relaxing at the beach someone started smoking near us and we got the smoke up - which is very annoying (especially since most of them through their cigarette buts in the sand - very inconsiderate).
the beach itself has nice soft white sand, but right near us where two jet ski rentals - so when we went in for a swim: you were literally swimming between the jet skis - which takes a bit away from the \"beautiful island beach feeling\".
the town itself is very smelly, if you walk you always smell the sewer, there is a lot of garbage, the river is very dirty and smelly - and even on the nightmarket - you get smoked on everywhere.
We went to check out some more remote beaches and have to say even some of them had bottles and garbage.

Staff were nice and helpful, the room was old, mouldy and very dirty - we had to clean ourselves on the first day wasn't gonna touch anything. We had to wipe surfaces, and disinfect the bathroom, lot's of hair on the floor. We stayed 4 nights. The room was spacius but uncomfortable, the bed was ok. Luckily the beach was nice, with sunbeds, water was great for swim in the waves, beach restaurant was pleasant enough.

This was our third trip to this lovely hotel right on the beach at Lamai. It’s excellent value for money, breakfast is much improved since our last visit , the rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff remain the best we have come across on our travels. We will be back!

Direct beach access and close to high street

Approx 30mins taxi drive from the airport, this hotel and bungalow complex is ideally located for the beach and town life without spending a fortune. I stayed in a bungalow, and yes it’s a bit tired and dated but was really clean. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was fresh and good, and excellent value for money - especially the Thai food. I didn’t try any of the western food as I was in Thailand!
Having the luxury of the beach and a swimming pool was wonderful, and being such a short walk to the main road for shops, bars and restaurants too was good. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a good and friendly budget hotel.

We enjoyed our 2 week stay but were a little dissapointed that the last 4 days of our stay we had jackhammer in room next door! We were not advised or offered to move, so much for a quiet holiday!
The rooms are a little tired, bathroom had leaking tap which made floor extremly dangerous.
Also cleaners were a bit slack in replacing towels. If u dont leave them on floor, then they dont get replaced. No notice telling you. Im happy to re-use towels but after 3 days i would expect them to be replaced. We always hang our towels. Speaking to other guests, their towels were replaced without question daily?? Towels both room and beach are very worn and torn.
We loved the pool, garden and access to the beach with plenty of beds/chairs.
Easy to access restaurants, bars and shopping.
Staff were very friendly.
Would i stay again..yes! We love Lamai Beach and overall Coconut Beach Resort is a good budget place to stay.

Nice resort on beachfront. We had a superior Seaview room which was very comfortable.
Glad we didn’t take a bungalow as we were told they were noisy with lots of mosquitos. Lovely pool with lots of sun lounges and more sun lounges on the beach. Close to everything including shops restaurants and food markets. Enjoyed staying here and extended our stay for another 5 nights.

First time holiday at Koh Samui, Coconut Beach Resort. We stayed in a bungalow with a beach front view. The first few days we didn't leave the resort, it had everything we needed. The restaurant had great food, happy hour from 4-6, beach massage and water sports. Located well, near markets, restaurant and entertainment. I would love to come back again. Nothing to complain about everything was good.

The location is great and the reception & restaurant areas are nice. Food at the restaurant is fairly priced and good. Our deluxe seaview room was roomy and had a nice view. Comfortable except for the very worn sheets, towels and beach towels. They need more sunbeds, it's a blood sport here with all beds claimed before 6:30 am. Overall, I would recommend as a budget hotel.

Make sure to understand in advance, the rooms being booked are unclear. I booked a bungalow on the beach, and then it turned out there were only two of those, and they tried to put me in a bungalow next to the garage. They switched me to a room on the third floor, which was reasonable, but the money I paid was double what I received in the end.\"

Great place to stay.. we lucked out and got the best view / room on the property A105.. right on the beach .. 10 steps from the sand and 35 from the water.. ice outside patio to sit.. we enjoyed the bread eat each morning for a nominal $8/ day room charge.. can rent nice scooter right on site and no $5000 baht deposit like other times we rented..
booked 3 nights and end up staying 7 nights…
Listening to the waves every night was sure nice.. very quiet resort and nice beach area and can walk for 20 minutes easy both directions.. very close walk 5 minutes .. to Lamai night market .. amazing food and wide variety.. opens each day at 5

The Lamai Coconut Beach Resort was a pleasant surprise.
We originally booked one week but realized we didn’t want to leave on the fifth day and extended our stay for a month. The staff is excellent the restaurant has great food at extremely reasonable prices and the happy hour from
5-7 is also excellent. Try the passion fruit Margarita and enjoy Lamai.

Hotel was ok. Rooms very clean. Big room with big bed and sea view. Very close to the beach. Staff were very friend and competent. Not a huge choice for breakfast but adequate. Hotel is about one minute from the road. But to get to it from the hotel you walk past a rundown hotel which is closed down and falling to bits. Not a good sight to greet you. Taxis are expensive anywhere that’s to be expected on an island. Lots of shops , restaurants and bars very near by. Can book all excursions in reception. Well woth going on the trips. All in all not a bad hotel

Loved the location and the little cabins on the beach. Restaurant staff were amazing and really helpful. Internet and air conditioning were great too. Hotel is outdated but fits the chilled vibe for the beach. Could do with new beds though and a fan in the bathroom as this was a sauna.
A great location on the beache and just off the main road. I would say this is definitely a relaxed, laid back hotel with cute rustic cabins. Food is good and cheap. Cocktails need work but other drinks are great. Plus you are 2 mins from a nice strip. Lamai beach is stunning. Trips from here are really easy.

What a great place, I loved it. I enjoyed the land set-up and the location. It was clean, comfortable and the staff was great. Easy to book my transport and other activities through them. My room had a balcony and I loved it.
Bring your own conditioner as they don't supply that. The king beds are actually smaller beds pushed together.

The property is right on the beach and close to town so very convenient. There wasnt much parking spaces for cars.The bungalow we stayed in was good but a little dated. The shower didnt have any hot water, the bedside light didnt work and there was no password for wifi in the room. We did ask for wifi password but found it didnt work.
The buffet breakfast was good and has lot of choices.

An okay place to stay. Rooms large and comfortable and a nice beach side bar and facilities. The staff were attentive and friendly too.
Bathroom kept flooding when we took a shower so that wasn’t ideal but, all in all, we’d stay there again should we return to Lami.

We stayed in one of the superior garden bungalows and I highly recommended. We were 50 steps to the beach, 50 steps (in the other direction) to the pool, and 20 steps to the restaurant and bar. All staff were exceptionally accommodating, but in particular BIG BIG shout out to Kong in the restaurant/bar. We'll definitely be back!

It took 2 weeks for the lift to function and the satellite TV never materialised. Food and bar were very good. The management should have done more to make the most of the beach and facilities.

We booked the bungalow beach front based all of the 10 /10 customer ratings on the booking site . The hotel is rundown and the grounds need a lot of work . The pool was good but away from the beach area . I got a stain on my back from sitting on the chairs on the bungalow porch . The pictures were nothing like the hotel to a point that the receptionist didn’t recognize the beach chair layout .

Exactly what we hoped for!

We picked this lovely gem of a place after much research. Having done Thailand in 4/5 star hotels and spent no time in them we wanted a place on the beach with a decent room and facilities at a good price. Lamai coconut smashed all our expectations for service, location and facilities. It is, in fairness, a 3* hotel and doesn’t profess to be any other but it delivers in every way. The staff, without exception, couldn’t do enough for their guests. We rarely return to a hotel again knowing what else there is out there to see and discover but this place made us feel so welcome and comfortable we will inevitably be back! Loved it!

Room size is big with large balcony. The walls are very thin, I could hear my loud neighbor speaking way too much. The shower water never stays hot, it was constantly changing between very hot and very cold for every single shower.
Breakfast is good, very basic breakfast buffet. No fancy coffee at this hotel. Front desk was very helpful for arranging reservations and taxis.

Lamai Coconut was a good place to stay for a while. The pool was nice, the staff was friendly, and our room (although laid out in a way that two people were always climbing over each other) was always tidy. It has been hit by COVID just like all other businesses at Lamai Beach. We were two of the only customers staying there. They have had so few people that they only have WiFi on the beach and in the two beachfront bungalows. They did an excellent job of cleaning our room daily, but since there are no tourists, no one bothers to clean up the beach.

We enjoyed our 7 night stay at Lamai Coconut Beach Resort. The room was lovely, clean and very spacious. Plenty of choice at breakfast which was good (unfortunately the hot food not covered therefore didn’t jeep hot ) eggs poached, scrambled, omelette or fried were made to order so these were great. Dinner on the beach is a must ! Lovely romantic setting. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. We booked the transport from and to the Airport which was in a clean, comfortable luxury minibus it was excellent! Plenty of sun loungers on the beach and also unusual comfortable beanie bags. Thank you to all the staff, we would definitely stay here again.

4 night couple stay - £172. Overall very pleased. Quan the lovely cleaner happily gave me extra tea and coffee sachets two of the mornings, always with a smile 😊 reception and restaurant staff also friendly. Room itself was so bright and spacious & had all you’d need - hairdryer, kettle with tea & coffee etc, 2 big & 2 small towels, shampoo, conditioner, cotton buds, soap, tv with at least one English channel, huge comfy bed, a beach bag with two specific beach towels, a chair inside & two chairs on balcony which included railings to dry clothes, nice lights too inside room - some on ceiling & two warm coloured lamps on bedside tables, air con worked perfectly. Location great, quiet road so never loud but a 30 second walk to main road to bars and restaurants. Rooms were made up, bins & towels changed & refreshments stocked up each day which was lovely unless you put ‘do not disturb’ sign on door. Pool area nice & restaurant with sea view.

Bathroom did need regrouting as some bits were grey ish colour, I saw a hair in bath and toilet seat wasn’t perfect so I would have preferred bathroom to be slightly cleaner - I am a clean freak though & just think a hotel room should be spotless. Small ants on room floor but that is also the case with our current hotel so think it’s expected. Would stay again in summary! Hope this is helpful ☺️

Good stay in Lamai Beach

We spent 14 days at Lamai Coconut Resort from 21 December 2019 to 04 January 2020. The hotel is very well located in Lamai beach in the centre of the village, right on the beach and a few steps from the main road. The installations are basic but in very well conditions as expected from a 3 Star hotel. Breakfast is nice with good choice of eggs, bread, fruit, juice, Thai food, etc. Lamai beach is generally clean, but you see plastic rubbish which seems to be an issue in all Thai beaches nowadays. The hotel keeps the beach somehow clean in the stretch of sand in front of it, but once you walk away you see again the accumulated rubbish. The beach front hotels should keep the whole Lamai Beach clean and campaign against plastic consumption in the area. Lamai is full of restaurant options close to the hotel, and the hotel itself serves very good meals at affordable prices as well. Staffs are nice and educated, but some of them do not speak much English. Overall the hotel rates are acceptable and were one of the cheapest options we found for end-of-year high season.

On the pictures it looks so new and beautiful but in the really is not quite like this. The bungalow is bit old and no so clean. Probably is not their fault but we found and “animal” drop on the bed linen ones. The first night shampoo and gel wasn’t replaced and we had to go to reception to request some more. The staff in general is very friendly and helpful, we just had a bad experience with one member of the night sift. We stood at front of reception desk for 15 minutes before we were attended while a staff member was having a private chat on her cell phone.
I would say that the best thing about this hotel is the location that literally it is in the beach

We had a wonderful Holiday. The Hotel was in the most perfect position. 60 metres to beach, 150 metres to corner shop. Walking distance to markets, restaurants, shopping. Beach was best spot on about a 15 klms stretch. Was perfect.

After a horrible journey with delays. lost luggage and the taxi not at the airport, we arrived deflated at the hotel. Once we were shown to the fabulous room with a great view it was all forgotten and we had smiles on our faces. The room was big, modern and in pristine condition.

The hotel staff were all friendly without being over the top and attentive without loitering.

The pool was quiet and we had it to ourselves most of the time.

The location is excellent, right on the beach, quiet but also just a few steps from the main restaurants and bars.

Location and layout is the best feature of this hotel. It's right on the beach and a short walking distance to the shops, restaurants and bars of Lamai's main shopping street.

Breakfast is really good, so there's no pressure to go hunting for a nice breakfast.

For dinner they set up tables right on the sand, which makes for an awesome meal setting.

Staff are super helpful, especially a couple of them in particular.

A couple of very minor criticism: internet is patchy, hot water was tricky, and sound insulation of rooms wasn't that great.

But none of these would prevent us from going back. It really made our week in Koh Samui simply awesome.

The property was ok very clean the bar staff were mostly pleasant but I think they need to address the reception no smiling faces seemed to be to much trouble such a shame as with a lick of paint and more welcoming staff would be great. Also they should clear rubbish from beach in mornings

Nice beach front hotel with a good breakfast

We stayed in the main block and our room was very clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was very good with a great selection. All the staff were friendly and helpful apart from the reception staff. The sea was rough when we were there and we didn't go in the sea. The staff clean the beach each morning but they are fighting a losing battle, I was amazed at the amount of rubbish being washed ashore. The wi fi reception was really poor and the swimming pool could have been cleaner.There are 3 bars at the end of the street doing cocktails for 70 baht and a bottle of beer for 50 baht, much cheaper than else where in Lamai. We found 2 great Italian restaurants that we would recommend, Tropicana and Pizza Del Sol, both on the main street of Lamai. We would stay here again if we returned to Lamai.
