The staff were friendly, and the facilities were reasonable... But the room had cockroaches!!! It was not noticeably unclean, but I encountered 3 different cockroaches, including one which crawled up my neck in the night - not a restful experience at all.

The hotel and room were clean, though very basic and quite small. It's suitable for solo travellers. Several restaurants are nearby, and the MRT station is about a 10-minute walk away. Reception staff were serious but efficient. Not recommended for families.

Cheap hotel no thrills whatsoever.

Hotel is in a predominently Muslim area. Please be advised of this. Also room service and house keeping are not done on a daily basis. You will find yourself having to request clean towels as they are frequently changed.

I stay only for 1 night and will not visit again
Pro:
- only 6-7 mins walk to train station
- close to the airport
Con:
- weak air-con, even the staff have adjusted the central setting, doesn’t help at all
- because of the air-con, you can feel the room is moldy and moist, the floor keeping moist all night long
- bad smell in the room, the housekeeping put on the fragrant spray before check in making it worse
- many ants on the wall and bed

Hotel 81 Changi is what it is: a budget hotel. Do not expect anything but a place to sleep. The rooms are small but adequate. No issues with the beds or the room service. The bathroom was a bit smelly, but I think that was because of a Crain on the floor. There is a bath and handheld shower. There was no shower curtain, and the main bathroom floor was a wet room floor. They expect \"spillage\" from the shower, thus the main drain. Good area and good local food all around, including a coffee stall. Good transport links. A bus stop right outside, and MRT is pretty close. I found it pleasant to stay there.

Location is close to airport, cost abt SD20 using taxi from airport. The room is very small. It has window that cannot be opened for fresh air. The bathroom was very stinky and the AC was centrally controlled by the front desk and it was freezing cold. I WOULD NOT recommend this hotel.

We will definitely be back, The only down-side was the adjacent guests having no concept others sleeping when they have an early start, having lack of controlling their children running up and down the hallways and yelling; grown-ups were no better; talking across to each other to rooms opposite each other. I am pretty sure you have a quiet-time.

Just what we needed for one night stay between flights. The room was comfortable and clean and had all we needed.
The Bus number 24 from the airport stops right outside so no need for expensive taxis.
Would certainly recommend.

The property is poorly furnished. The safety lock is missing without repairing. (Some other parts in the room are also lack of maintenance.I need to tie up the door knob with luggage strap to ensure safety at night. There is a kind of bad smell with the undried bedsheet . I saw a tiny black bug walking on the pillow .Luckily I only lived for 2 nights. Some positive areas are good water pressure and near MRT station.

This can't be described as a hotel. There are no facilities (no restaurant, bar, lounge, minibar), not even a coffee machine or a drinks dispenser. All you get is a room, and in my case a cleaner outside making a noise until 1am

The hotel location is good, just near the airport and 20 minutes away from station going to universal studio. There’s a restaurant right beside it so we could buy delicious food from there. We checked in past 1am and had room immediately ready. Be warned, the hotel is old, they still use the actual key instead of access card to open doors. The lock from inside was broken too. But we just slept there so it didn’t matter. It was the quickest checkout we ever had. Once we gave them keys, that’s it ! You’re good to go! No checking the room needed.

Aircon is centrally controlled. I had to go Uniqlo buy some heat tech warmers after the first night because it was too cold! Can't believe I needed winter wear in Singapore! But because of that this trip became memorable and will be talking about this with friends for a while. Everything else is what you'd expect at this price. Tiny, cramped but cheap.

The second night stay , my daughter 12 yo got bed bites… and then we complained and checked and change room, but the condition not much better as we found small cockroach and the basin (underneath) so dirty. See pictures.

This is really a 2 star (not 3 star) no frills hotel. It is in a safe residential area. My bathtub was old and has no shower curtain. Needs to be replaced as the silicone edges are discolored making them look moldy when they aren't actually. Plus points are that you have quite a few of 24 hr eating establishments within walking distance and the room was fairly spacious for a budget hotel.

There are ants crawling on basin, bath tub, metal plate above the bed, dressing table, safe and the cupboard below TV. Feels terribly uncomfortable due to the crawlies. Pls do something to eliminate the ants in room 510. Also, I have to wipe the dust on most surfaces and remove coffee stains on the 2 cups. I feel that I am working in the house keeping dept in the hottel. I would expect a cleaner and more hygienic room for a SG Clean hotel.

I'm very pleased with how clean and neat the room is, clean towels, cable TV, and there's even a coffee maker for coffee and tea. The receptionist was very friendly and patient in helping me understand the extra charge to extend my stay. If you can't check in by 7:00 am for the previous night, it will be considered as the next day, and there's a small charge to extend the stay for quite a few hours for the day. I just needed a room for isolation while waiting for my Covid test result upon arrival at the Singapore airport. I would stay here again.

Good for short stay

This hotel is good for short stay. You have a bed and bathroom, and that's essentially all you need. Bed/pillows were decent, and bathroom was ok. The only thing with the bathroom was that it's very small and there was no glass shower or curtain to avoid water getting everywhere. However, hotel is in a great location 5 min walking distance to the train station! Also, there are a lot of restaurants nearby and seems to be in a relatively safe neighborhood.

Situated on a main road, this hotel is close to a variety of outdoor restaurants which are open early and close late. If you want a small room mainly for sleeping at a budget price then this is a suitable hotel. Keep in mind that it has a bath tub with a shower attachment but there isn’t any shower curtain which allows the floor to get wet and slippery. All in all, it was a pleasant experience.

Checked in was smooth and fast. Staff was friendly. Place not that crowded. Location acceptable. Not far from MRT. Near locale, simple, down to earth restaurants serving local foods at very reasonable prices. Room was very simple but has basic necessities that a transient visitor needs. Room clean. Checked out was fast and smooth. Would like to thank staff for excellent service. By the way I requested for a two twin bed but wasn’t given as none available. Other than that, I had a positive stay.

Good location with convenient cafes for eating. The room is small but ok for overnight stay.
The most disappointing area is the bathroom which has no shower curtain and has no bath mate towel for the floor. There's no bar soap either, only liquid soap from one dispenser for both cleaning and showering.

The two nights stay at this hotel is very upsetting, there was no bottle drink provided on the second day,
the room was not clean at all during my stay. The room size is really small, not enough space to put the suitcase. Will never again stay in this hotel.

Fantastic location. For the price one pays this place is good enough. It is 4 minutes easy walk from Kampangan MRT station. Plenty of good restaurants where the locals eat and the food is original. Convenient location for Changi airport and all the attractions in the city.
