each night is worse than the one before. The smell in our rooms is horrible, and the hall smells way worse. the floor wasn’t vacuumed. The fan hardly spins. There is only one trash can. People are screaming all night long. This is nothing like the pictures or the statements and especially nothing like Facebook portrays it. Towels on the floor were not replaced like it shows on the mirror. The only positive thing i can is that the sheets are soft. Beware of black mold. Spoke with the front desk at checkout and were spoken to so rudely!!

Breakfast hours are short. Very loud common areas despite “quiet hours”. Pool is not open which isn’t disclosed until check in. 6pm check in was not upheld for reserved room so had to change rooms. Rooms are dated and dirty. Sink and tub didn’t drain properly. Icy walkways. Unpleasant staff throughout.

Wish the tubing and the indoor pool was open.. thought it would be opened for winter but workers say both are only open for summer.. which is weird and i wish they would tell you this upfront on website prior to booking. Views were awesome kids liked the activities. Ice machine broke and they tried charging me 5.50 for a bag after i told them it was broken.

Three quiet nights in the mountains in a large and comfortable room...what more could I want. TV? No, that's part of the ambiance. No AC either, but it wasn't missed. Just fresh mountain air, quiet nights and a comfy bed. And the price was within my limited budget.

The surroundings were beautiful! We played mini golf which was included in our hotel price.
The room was clean but very dated. The sliding back door was falling apart, a chunk of concrete was missing inside the door.
No air conditioning in the room but they provided a fan.
Bed was lumpy, but plenty of pillows provided.
Bathroom was clean.
In the morning, we woke up to a forest-silence which was so refreshing!

I did not like that there was no TV in the room or on the property. I played golf at nearby Pole Creek Golf Course and after dinner I wanted to watch a little TV before going to bed. Not only is there no TV or radio there is considerable noise coming from a group in the open public area directly below my room, and there is no A/C.

We should have stayed for a longer time

This was a very simple room- beds were comfy, things were clean and it worked for a night while we were on a long Colorado road trip. For 2 adults and 3 kids it was a bit tight for more than a night or two. The whole property is insanely beautiful and expansive- so many great things to do with a family / group. The huge slides were a highlight for our boys. The breakfast was good and healthy, lots of fresh fruit, and good options for different dietary needs. Seems like it’d be a great place to stay for a while, if we plan to come back and stay longer, we would just get a bigger place!

The building we were in was very old, outdated, dirty, and hot. The beds were clean and comfortable but the bathroom was dirty and had lots of black hairs on the floor so I know it isn’t been swept or mopped. The upstairs guest were extremely noisy and we had to call security 2 times. This is not a place I would visit again.

The view is beyond amazing. There are so many activities going on all the time. The pool hours are limited so check their site for those. There is not a t.v. in the room nor a.c. however we use our phone and tablets and opened the windows and used the box fan. This is not a five star hotel. This is a lodge. The view is beautiful, but we didn’t have friendly staff. Room was decently clean, but not super clean. The pool was closed and it was only open the next day 6-8pm, also we missed dinner the first night which closed at 7:30pm, check in wasn’t until 6pm and the staff did not tell me dinner closed at 7:30. So we had to drive into Winterpark 20 mins away at 7:40 to feed our family. We also missed breakfast the next morning because it closed at 9am and no one told us. The ymca resort is not for us! Nothing fancy at all, but it does have a million dollar view.

It has numerous great amenities, a great pool but be warned, if you have a child under 13 they will have to complete a swim test that many kiddos couldn't complete, so they have to wear a life jacket and can only ride 1 of the slides and stay in a certain area. That was extremely disappointing because then they can't practice swimming or do the rock wall or the bigger slide. There are plenty of other things to do though, like snow tubing, just make sure you are ready for a workout climbing back up the hill! The crafts were great, but don't go the day you check out or you will be limited. The food onsite in expensive, but there are nearby options, including a grocery store. The atmosphere was great, but the soundproofing was awful. We heard constant running and banging until 1am both nights, so I had to get security so my family could sleep. We had a good time but definitely should have had a little more information on the website for limitations or what to expect. We will try it again, but with different expectations.

Our stay was fine for the price, the room wasn’t terrible. The toilet did leak/run for prolonged periods. And we could clearly hear kids running around in the room above us at 6:30am. One of the biggest bummers was that the pool (which was only open from 6 to 8pm on the night of our stay…with a 6pm room check in) had reached max capacity. they were turning away many families, and you could add your name to a waitlist but by the time we got back they were at capacity again. so don’t count on that.

Great value, for sure. Lots of wonderful activities for families. Rooms were clean, understandably an older feel as they keep pricing down to accommodate so many, which is wonderful. Hotel room was clean as were linens despite age. Unable to get into room until after 6 pm as it was a very busy time for them (Spring break). Tubing was so so fun and staff there were engaging, helpful and friendly and got us checked in quickly with waivers despite other guests taking more time. Pool staff were friendly and informative about other pool opportunities when pool had to close due to a bathroom accident. Some staff, despite being approached with kindness were gruff and could use a little bit more education on how to manage guests with friendliness. (Gentlemen at the Stables and one woman at the art room.) Overall, our two night stay was filled with great family time and bonding. I truly appreciate all this stay, and the wide variety of activities offered. It can’t be easy to do that with so many folks enjoying the property at the same time.

Adequate,older,noisy but outdoor rec is worth it

We love the Nordic Center. The trails are excellent. The lodging is adequate. We've stayed in Aspen Lodge, Silver Sage, and Indian Peaks. Aspen Lodge and Silver Sage have bunk beds along with queen beds, and never seem to have enough lighting. Walls are very thin and there's no TV. The Y is focused on family time, which is ok, but a lot of parents allow their kids to run up and down the halls, being noisy way past quiet hour (10pm). The atriums in Aspen Lodge and Silver Sage reverberate with noise. Indian Peaks is lacking the bunk beds but it can still be very noisy so we avoid these rooms at all costs during weekends and holidays. The lodges and rooms are older, and the animal heads mounted in the atriums are offensive to some of us. With that said, during the week can be very nice, and the trails are right outside the lodges. Dining is very limited at the Y, so be prepared to bring microwave food if you don't want to drive into town/or miss the dining hours. The employees here tend to be very nice and helpful. I left my purse in my room one time after check out and the cleaning people made sure I got it back. The views around the Y and from the trails are gorgeous. This review is not meant to be negative, just an honest assessment because we've been staying here for years.

Dad with 2 toddlers. Great no frills, basic, affordable and simple hotel room with TONS of activities to do. We woke up at 6:30 each morning and really weren't back until 8pm. Hungry hippos, Nordic skiing, snowboarding at WP, basketball, air hockey, sledding - meals were simple and basic but free for the kids - so not having a TV in the hotel room or other amenities was more than enough. We are going back in a few weeks we like it so much!

I'll bring my own pillow next time though.

Future guests, definitely check out Rocky Mountain Staples and Nordic Center! My only complaint is that the lodge was not sound proof and the heater was barely working. We're Y members and will keep coming back

We've been staying here for years. We used to stay at Silver Sage but the rooms were dark and very noisy when there are a lot of kids. The 10pm quiet hours are ignored by a lot of parents. We like Indian Peaks much better, although if you go during a school holiday, you may be met with the same noise. The walls are pretty thin. The animal heads on the walls are old-school and it would be nice to not have to look at them. Time for a update. Otherwise, the place is very quiet, the views are awesome, you can ski practically out the front door. Snow Mountain has one of the best Nordic Centers in CO with miles of groomed skate and classic tracks. There are separate snowshoe trails that are beautiful, too. Staff is always helpful and cheerful. Note, there are no TVs in the rooms, but pets are allowed in some rooms, which we love. Not a lot of options nearby for food.
