This property is very close to the party clubs on the beach so if you’re in a standard ocean room you won’t get any sleep before 2am!!!
The rooms were in need of a very good scrub and dust.
Water was touch and go as to if you could get a shower or not.

In the centre of everything; hire car, food, cafes, boutiques, beach, bus stop, etc. Hotel a bit dated but location is exceptional. Beach on the doorstep. Make sure you get the right room on check in. Perfect HUB to eat out or explore surrounds.

This once-grand hotel still has a certain charm and has a lovely tropical garden and pool area.
Our premium room was very spacious with a long balcony overlooking the pool and garden, and seaviews too.
There is regular live music in the front bar terrace area, where guests and locals mingle and even dance!
Our only disappointment was having to avoid using the pool Wed-Sat mornings while an aqua aerobics class took place, which was also very loud.
But overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel for those who like well-priced quality accommodation.

The Nouvata is a nice hotel for what we paid, budget accommodation. We stayed in the Premium Ocean View Room. Room was very neat and clean beside a few tiny ants after our opened food (our own fault). Could do with a waiter/waitress around the pool and some music to liven the place up. Reception was very helpful and check in was quick. Free WIFI a bonus, and speedy too! The hotel is in desperate need of an upgrade. Needs a paint urgently! I would recommend staying at the Nouvata if you are on a budget. We were only there for 3 nights so it was perfect for us.

I travel solo and paid for the budget option of the hotel so cannot comment on the higher standard rooms. The budget room was very basic, no lamps beside the bed so you had to turn the light off before you got into bed. No hairdryer. No hand towel.
During my first night there the tap on the toilet system broke and flooded the bathroom and some of the bedroom. I was moved immediately the maintenance man assessed the damage. The room I moved to was across the hall and I achieved a better view - this time of the beach rather than the hotel car park that I had initially. Unfortunately the shower switch tap must have been broken at some stage and not replaced meant that I could only have a bath. That may suit some, but it didn't suit me.
The staff were hit and miss, but most were very accommodating and with the language barrier they did their best to assist.
I did not eat there so cannot comment on the food.
The pool area was pleasant. I did not swim in the pool.

Very central location near all the main shops and restaurant and facing the beach. Property is dated though and would benefit from a major renovation. Reception service was below average and check-in process was a bit long as we had to wait a while despite not many guests checking in. Good parking onsite.

Having decided to treat myself to a premium room I was not disappointed by the view, which was stunning. However, I was a bit disappointed with the overall experience because I wanted an easy holiday.

I did not use the shuttle service from the resort as I had tried to contact them multiple times via multiple channels with no response. When the emailed to offer the service a few days before my trip, I had already made alternative arrangements.

Arrived several hours before check-in, was not provided any information on where I could go or offered use of facilities until room was ready. No information about the hotel, entertainment/events, the local area, etc, in the foyer or my room.

Room was very large and bed was comfortable.
Bathroom dated, no hand soap or hand towels, and bath didn't drain properly. Good water pressure but inconsistent temperature, and mold in tiles.

Restaurant only has buffet dinning, which is not value for money for me. I was unable to attend the Christmas buffet (on Christmas Eve) because it was sold out before I arrived. This seemed to be attended mostly by locals, which was great to see the support, however, difficult for visitors with limited alternatives.

Pool area was nice but not enough loungers. Also, on Christmas day, someone by the pool had music going so loudly I could hear it with the balcony door closed and this was allowed to continue until around 8pm.

So, overall, a little disappointing.

We informed the hotel about the need to change our booking due to the strikes in the Isle of Pines, but we received no sympathy or refund. We accepted this, considering their refund policy. However, upon check-in, they marked us as a no-show despite us communicating our situation and our intention to check in two days later. Even though they were aware and had received payment, they gave our room away. When we checked in, we had to prove that our room had been reassigned. They provided us with a different room with poor air conditioning and offered no apology or effort to make amends. For instance, if I had made such an error, I would have offered a dinner voucher, drinks voucher, or extra Wi-Fi as a gesture of goodwill, but nothing of the sort was extended to us. Overall, it was a terrible experience, and we wouldn't consider returning even if offered compensation.

Clean and tidy premium room. Was cleaned every day and towels refreshed etc. Lovely outlook over pool. A bit tired but perfectly fine. Could of done with a book in the room with instructions on using the safe, phone numbers for reception, dialling out, calling another room. Staff very friendly. Pool area lovely although a few of the chairs were broken. A bit of noise one night from a room partying til 4am. It should have been dealt with way before I called reception at 4am.

Room was big and spacious with pool and ocean views but that is where the highlight ended. Microwave needed to turn and plug in to use. Other than cup and saucer and teaspoons, no other plates or cutlery (including small knife) were provided. Ants located in the room in various locations. Body wash pump on the wall in the shower but NO cakes of soap at the two bathroom sinks. No shampoo/conditioner as usually expected. Sofa bed couch was simply a folded foam mattress and as a larger person to hard to sit on and get out of that I had to ask for a straight chair. TV on the table which takes up desk space. NO English subtitles on the tv and they no longer subscribe to even one English channel - surprising since so many neighbours are English speaking. Minimum internet they give you lasts 30 minutes tops and only gets recharged once a day - disappointing in this modern technological world where such reliance is necessary. Restaurant for breakfast was horrendous - overcooked bacon, undercooked scrambled eggs and COLD. Not worth Aus $52. Venue appears to be cost cutting. Disappointing and will not be back.

Not a bad place to stay, but virtually no amenities, rather unhelpful staff (couldn’t even get a plate for the room, was asked to go fetch it from the restaurant ourselves), was told nothing would be open on the public holiday but almost every shop around the hotel was open…

Room was fine, twin was a huge bed and a tiny bed… awkward choice for two friends traveling. Main city area is a long while away, but there are some things near the hotel (gets old quickly). View is spectacular, so buy some cheese and ham at the supermarket, get a baguette from the bread shop behind the Hilton and have yourself a dinner party.

Overall, not great, but served a purpose.

Basic hotel but I have been very disappointed that they charged me for having broken a bathroom telephone that fell on the floor as we were maneuvering someone in a wheel chair and the bathroom is clearly not made to accommodate handicapped persons. This was an antique phone that cost more than the room charge itself. Not recommended.

Beds VERY uncomfortable and very limited pillows/linens.
Rooms are EXTREMELY noisy with peoples rooms nearby and corridor noise.

You have to pay for any reasonable amount of internet, which is a pain.
Lots of the building was under refurbishment, so wasn’t that nice.

Pool is ok, quite cold, no towels provided for the pool.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Nouvata on our honeymoon. The staff were helpful and friendly and knew English to communicate well with us. Great location but worse hotel ever! Fridge did not work; single bed had coils poking up and needed to sleep on top of quilt to prevent feeling the bed of nails; all the lights did not work and we ended up getting a lamp in order to see the telephone; no soap located at hand basin in bathroom – informed we needed to squeeze the soap connected to the shower and then go to the basin to wash our hands. Major safety hazard issues – soap dripping on the floor which could have resulted in a nasty accident and not to mention COVID. Wondered if anyone was washing their hands in Nouvata and COVID was spreading! We bought our own soap to use. Staff were untrained and unhelpful; not given internet access code and then was given the wrong code twice; was not given safe instructions and then we were given the wrong instructions for a different branded safe– ended up lugging valuables with us everywhere; no phone numbers or any information in room, no hotel compendium in either English or French; no idea of any hotel facilities or hotel benefits eg. Aqua aerobics (which we saw and would have liked to participate in), hair dresser, beautician etc.

Great location, amazing views from the rooms. Super clean. Many great food choices nearby, free parking, excellent air conditioner in the room (one room’s a/c stopped working one night but was repaired quickly). Fun pool. Beach access across the street. Great value!
The only complaint was the wifi. The free wifi would run out pretty quickly. My daughter paid for the fast wifi, but even that wasn’t great. In the lobby there was only a few minutes of free wifi. Our international plan didn’t include New Caledonia so we counted on the hotel wifi. Luckily we rented a mobile wifi box at the airport. That saved the day.

Property is dated , no face towels supplies , not too clean , I rent two rooms sea view 48 m2 for me and my friends , no lights in ceiling rooms is too dark , shower is above the bath tub and the bath is so slippery specially when using shampoo or soap so we did ask for a floor mat but they said they don’t supply .
Pool ladders are weak and big person can not use it it’s not safe so if you are big you can not swim in the pool cause you can’t get out ( no ramp or stairs )
Reception people are great and very helpful specially Eva , she called taxi and organised every trip for us and also follow up emails , she was great and supper women .

This was my fourth time at the Nouvata as I always enjoy it, as did the group of 6 other people I brought with me (except the time before this one) - this time it was such a pleasure to deal at Reception with Eva, Aline, Raiza and their very friendly professionalism. There are just 2 unfortunate points I need to highlight:
1) lack of communication (wfii, etc)
2) No channel with music
Anyway, as President of the Alliance Francaise in Australia, I'll be back with another group of students very soon.

i’ve stayed at this hotel on my occasions, with that being said - i would think reception should know me by name by now or at least by my face. nonetheless, i came a little bit before 3PM, because i have a little child with me. i ended up waiting 30mins after to get my room. then throughout the whole night, neighbors being loud in the hallway, which isn’t the hotel’s fault but still. it was OK to say the least, i have had better stays. also non-customers at the pool, not that big of a deal but still something to note.

The pool and kids pool were great. The scenic trees and garden added a lot of ambience.
I did notice that the gate to the pool and kids pool were never closed. This sorted of defeated the purpose of a safety gate!

Air con in each room was great, it kept us very comfortable. The room had a lot of space.
The internet facilities were lacking. There was a very small quota of free internet access (which was frustrating) and paid internet was very expensive. The lack of wifi meant that accessing maps, discounted tourist prices, researching activities was extremely hard. Most of the maps in the lobby, and info brochures were in Japanese.

The staff were very helpful and professional.

The rooms were old and in serious need of an upgrade. The beds were so Uncomfortable - very old and cheap mattress. The pillows were also old and separating - not comfortable at all. The room with the fridge stank like mould and left a horrible smell in the room everytime we opened the door. The only thing good about the room was the balcony had a nice view of the pool area and the room was big. However, nothing else was good about the room. Huge disappointment!

Good location and fairly inexpensive. It was clean. Hotel was incredibly out dated, we had to pay for an upgrade as our original room was far too basic and felt like we were in a prison block. The staff were friendly but incredibly slow and unprofessional. The pool was very average and too small. New Caledonia itself is very expensive but the hotel bar and restaurant was even pricier than the average place. On our last morning we checked out at 5am and there were cars upon cars of people in the car park having a party and no staff or security were stopping them, very loud and disconcerting.

レセプションのスタッフも人によってかなり差がありました。チェックインの際、日本人女性の方が対応してくれましたが、部屋の案内がかなりザツで15分くらい迷いました。初めて利用する客なので、どのビルなのか、どこにエレベーターがあるのか、部屋は何階なのかくらい説明してくれてもよいのでは？深夜到着のため、疲れがたまっているだけに、かなり残念です。
それから、コンフォートルームの海側の部屋の1階は、レストランバーになっており、週末イベントのため音楽が激しく流れてます。23時くらいまで続き、窓を閉めていても寝れるような音量ではないので、プール側の部屋をお勧めします。

Becoming very tired, staff don't go out of their way to help you, I come here every year but this was my last, have stayed in all 3 levels of accommodation too ! E.G. Just love the way they leave the soap basins in bathrooms but no soap, no on the wall and that is empty, or one of them was. They don't replenish the coffee and creamers everyday and overall cleanliness has gone backwards.

WiFi limit on downloads meant most of our party had to buy extra every day - sometimes twice a day. Breakfast was a pretty normal hotel breakfast like you get anywhere in the world. The only toiletries provided were the shampoo and body soap in dispensers on the wall of the shower so bring everything else with you. Location is great. Walked to Lemon Bay for good snorkelling though I here the Duck Island is better. Food options a bit limited so we ended up eating Vietnamese, Mexican and Indian even though were in Noumea.. Bed was very comfortable. For the price I think it was good but the breakfast is expensive so maybe go close by for something cheaper in the morning? Staff at reception very friendly and helpful. Card system to get in door and up elevator so don't forget your card!

A little tired and out dated but ok. Glad we were able to upgrade as facilities were minimal and very basic.l would encourage staff to be more aware of food allergies and to be better able to discuss alternatives with guests.

Great place and great location. Staff a little mixed. Upon check in the guy was amazingly nice. Upon check out the lady snapped at us... we booked our airport transfer with her, paid her then asked her where we should wait etc, she snapped back “Argh! Everyone asks me this! You have to go around and ask all the drivers... one will have you on a list!”
Maybe don’t offer the service and take the payment if you have no idea. We saw this happen to another couple as we waited too!

The Hotel is massive, very central and confortable with a bust stop to the \"city centrer\" right outside the hotel

I would say the best for location. Your room will be cleaned every day.

My room had a microwave, sink and kettle. Complimentary teas and coffees provided, as well as mini bar fridge.

Bathroom was a very decent size as well as the room with a corner of seaview.

The things of faults would be: television, only french language, only 250 mb internet per 24 hours, which is really not enough, so they should improve on this.

The restaurant, which is not part of the hotel but gives you 15% discount if you re a guest, is really overpriced for what it offers. So I would dine elsewhere. I went for a friday seafood buffet and it was just an expensive one for what you can actually eat. Restaurant staff can hardly speak english.

Overall a great stay. Hotel staff are nice, helpfull and knowledgeable.

staff friendly, but I was quite disappointed with the budget room. Understood its budget but only having one sheet to cover mattress and one blanket, no iron board, no hair dryer. Thats disappointing for a room paid $100 per night. The shower was at waist height!!! How do you take shower with that??? Visited my friend who got the room in the hotel which was really nice. I have to say the view from our budget room was great though. Also, I did not want to book the budget room but that all that was available as per Expedia, but my friend booked through booking.com and got the room inside the main hotel. I guess next time I got to book differently!

Muitas Baratas no banheiro

Hotel com instalações antigas e sem renovação. Ficamos duas noites e todos os dias vimos várias baratas pequenas no banheiro (infestação).
O entorno do Hotel tem vários restaurantes com qualidade e melhor preço que o do Nouvata.
A internet é limitada e teoricamente é renovada meia noite. Mas isso não aconteceu e tivemos que ir a recepção pedir outra senha.

Overpriced food & drink with poor quality rooms

I stayed at the Nouvata for two separate overnight stays for business as it is the preferred hotel for our company. My room was clean and the staff were friendly. The location is excellent. On the Friday night there was live entertainment with a performance of pacific island dancing which would certainly be appreciated by tourists. In my room the shower was grubby and the grouting between the tiles in poor condition. No matter how I adjusted the curtain water ended up all over the floor. My colleague advised his room was much better.

On check out after the first night I was charged for the airport shuttle bus despite having taken a taxi to the hotel and not having booked the bus. The staff would not reverse that charge when I checked out and after complaints from my manager in New Caledonia they agreed to a free breakfast on my next stay as compensation, unfortunately that did not happen.

I thought the Nouvata was very expensive for food and drink. The seafood buffet was over $100 AUD and the mud crabs were poor quality with very little meat. Large draft beer (500ml)was nearly $15 AUD and can of coke in the bar $8.40. This seemed very poor value but may be a reflected across other hotels in Noumea. Wifi di not work on my lap top or PC but was okay on my phone.
All in all I didn't really enjoy either of my stays.

Budget Room not worth it.

The main hotel is nice. The budget hotel is not connected to the main building. You do not feel like you're there.

Room is a decent size but bathroom is old and dated. There was no hot water at 5:30 am when I woke up. Do have a view to the main walk but very noisy. Building even made noises every 30 minutes during the night. Was a difficult place to sleep. I would not recommend for your stay.
