bathroom was such bare minimum scene...no conditioner...no hooks to hang anything in the bathroom...kitchen didn't have dish detergent..had a washer but no dryer or washing detergent...no fan or Aircon in the living room....location of the apartment is absolutely perfect...staff is very nice...other than above mentioned things the unit was comfortable and spacious to live in...pls get ur own tea coffee and milk..fridge was empty..not sure how to consider it a service appartment..

It was clean and staff were friendly. In need of renovation, but was cheaper than other hotels but still expensive. Apartment you are required to buy own dishwashing soap and body wash. But you do get shampoo and the bars of soap. In walking distance of local shops and restaurants. The views are excellent when you get a room with beach views!

Great location but I was disappointed with the service and facilities. My both bedside lamps were broken, the power point on one side was broken, the locks on the doors to our rooms were difficult to use and the bidet in the toilet broke. I requested an extra towel at reception and was told I had to use my bath towel at the pool. My friend made the same request and was allowed to rent one for 500 francs. I was surprised that there was no complimentary wifi and that I was required to buy my own toilet paper and take the trash out when leaving.

Great views but as many other reviewers have pointed out - the hotel is looking a bit tired !! Simple little maintenance issues like sticking cupboard doors, paint on skirting boards ( nearly every room) and cracked tiles etc give you the impression average is good enough. Staff are friendly & happy to help but getting an extra roll of toilet paper the only issue !

The location for its proximity to dining is excellent. Many choices just 2 minutes walk from the property. The location is also perfect for the beach as there is currently only 1 place where swimming is permitted in Noumea - just 5 minutes walk from Casa del Sole. The views are absolutely amazing. Aircon in the bedrooms worked well. As noted by previous reviews, there are no sharp knives so we took our own. When you check in it states that no consumables are provided - toilet paper (although there was a small roll in each toilet), dishwashing liquid, cleaning supplies and laundry powder. We took our own toilet paper but did not know about the other things. Someone had commented that the small grocery shop is no longer there but it is just to the left when you exit the main doors. They had a variety of basic food items, pastries in the morning and alcohol. The pool area was nice but just a windy location as it is not at ground level. Some information on the Expedia listing needs updating - there is no bike hire, no sign of a spa. The bus stop to town is 2 mins walk which was great. You can pay cash on the bus for a one-way journey - day passes can only be bought in town. Aquarium is 2 mins walk and Burger King is 3 mins walk. Casino supermarket was 15 mins walk (near the marina).
We would stay here again but would ask for a room on the opposite side (facing Anse Vata) away from the restaurant music that lasts until at least 3am.

Ok 15th floor, but would still like lockable doors on balcony for security, easy to climb around from next door. Property has seen better years, shop described as convenient is long gone and closest shop is 15min walk. Lack of non slip bath dangerous.

I really liked the Casa del Sol, the receptionist were friendly and spoke English well. It is situated perfectly for all the restaurants and beaches in easy walking distance. Very handy for the bus into town too. We had the 2 bedroom apartment which was spacious and comfortable with a great view. The doors to the balcony could not be locked and the place is in need of a facelift, but I would stay there again without hesitation.

We stayed there for 1 night in Nov 2019. As per other comments, it's a run down place (i.e. everything is old, not in great condition, the decoration is non existent, public areas are usually dark as light goes off everywhere automatically, the lift door may get stuck and you have to close it manually.. :) ).
If you get it <90 eur / night, it is good value for money if you need an apartment type of rental and don't really care about the condition of the place. Its location is pretty good close to \"Baie des citrons\" and the staff friendly.

TERRIBLE. To start, the facilities were run down, which is forgivable, except that it was one of the most expensive places we had booked so definitely not value for money. Felt like every dollar was being squeezed out of us, rubbish expensive wifi, only two disgusting pillows, two towels for two people over 4 days (which we had to use to clean the floor when the bidet malfunctioned, and were told to wash them ourselves with no cleaning products provided for the machine), shower was dirty and falling apart, horrible mattress and pillows that were actually lumpy & had stuffing falling out! Carpark was always full and ad-hock, plus large vans and busses made parking an expensive rental car a perilious experience. Reception service the first night was great but abysmal the next day. Rooms are noisy and uncomfortable - the whole place is dark and unwelcoming. Staff seem genuinely unhappy which is reflected in their terrible service. So disappointed that we refused to stay a second night. Would definitely not recommend.

Good location, fantastic balcony, with dining table and loungers . Good kitchen and laundry eating out was very expensive so to cook a meal and dine on the balcony watching the sun goes down was a great feature of this hotel
Sadly the local bars played loud music till 4am not the fault of the hotel but was detrimental to the overall enjoyment of the apartment. I had noticed that others had commented on the lack of basic things being provided just to start off like tea and coffee, dishwasher liquid had not been addressed. Just a little thing like this would have made a big difference. Our appartment was dated but clean and tidy, cleaned again mid week and fresh towels provided. Asked for a wake up call but didnt get it so dont depend on that service. Overall the holet was good value for the price. Happy with our stay.

Great view from our balcony, but that was the only upside. Everything was broken... the doors didn’t shut, front door banged at night, the kettle was broken, the dishwasher, the wifi... and the kitchen was very dirty with foul smell coming from under the sink. Had to pay for extra for everything too, even a roll of toilet paper!

Views from balcony were awesome. Proximity to either beach brilliant. Very close to restaurants which was great except very noisy on Saturday night.
No servicing of apartment at all, be prepared to buy everything.
Staff not at all helpful. shop opens occasionally
For a more relaxing holiday I'd probably spend the extra on a resort but overall this was quite good value for money

The area that this apartment complex is in is fantastic and the views are great from the balconys and rooms. If I had my time again I would stay somewhere else though. The apartments are very functional and have everything you need but are not particularly comfortable. There is no free wifi and pool is closed. The staff were not particularly friendly and said nothing more than here is your key despite us speaking in our best French. We were unable to check in until bang on 3pm which is unusual these days.

The hotel has spectacular views over the bay. It was clean and comfortable but it's large size made it a little lifeless. Beach across the road, plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. Bus is close by. Staff were helpful.

Great location, beautifully unobstructed views, and huge spacious unit with very comfortable furnishings. However there were parts of the unit that needed repair like broken lamp, light fittings and lounger chairs, rusted door fittings, and gaps in joinery on the main entrance door to outside. The pool decking was also broken (tripping hazard) and the tiling trim also broken off the edging around the pool. Otherwise it was a wonderful retreat.

Good position, good views

Arrived at dark and apartment is dimly lit so a little tricky to do much late in room other than watch telly, reading is hard.
Lots of space and good long chairs and table on balcony. Not enough towel hangers in bathrooms for the five of us, so towels stayed damp. No detergent for dishwashing which we were expected to do, no hairdryers, no tissues for face and not enough toilet paper for our stay. The kettle provided did not turn off automatically and was dangerous as we had to pull out from wall to stop it. The extra child’s bed was a bit uncomfortable, and single beds only ok. Water pressure was also weak in shower. In the day, the view was great. A lot of space and comfy couches, staff were nice.

In a great location between the 2 main beaches, if you like water views and being near the beach, then this is for you. Local bus service very good during the day. No real night service. About a 5 minute bus ride to closest supermarket. About 10 minutes to the centre of town. A number of restaurants right next to the building.

This place is close to the 2 best beaches, restaurants and amenities. Self catering so can save money by not needing to eat out all the time. Rooms are comfy and clean but the best thing was the view. We were on 13th floor over looking the stunning sunsets on Baie des Citrons (Lemon Bay). The hotel staff are amazingly helpful.

Location, location, location

The greatest thing about these apartments is the location. It's right between Baie Des Citron and Anse Vata. It's an easy walk to both with their restaurants, shops, bus stops and water taxis. The staff were friendly and the apartment was huge with views of both bays. There is a convenience store on the ground floor and a supermarket a short distance away. While the staff speak English, a little knowledge of French helps. We are already planning a return trip.

Very convenient location with numerous restaurants nearby, excellent views and close to Ansa Vata shops and beaches. The Aquarium is across the Rd. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment which was huge and very comfortable. It is quite noIshy though, so make sure you bring earplugs!

In need of in update

Our first stay at this hotel was ok but the second one was quite disappointing.

On the plus side it was cheap for the area, had fantastic views and the staff were friendly and helpful.

On the negatives, our second room had a horrible cigarette smell (we are non smokers with 2 very young kids), the balcony door didn't close properly and would bang in the wind (we had to prop it closed with a table) and the plug in the bath was broken so we had to plug it up with towels.

One other thing to consider is you have to supply all of your own tea, coffee, tea towels, dish detergent and dishwasher detergent and toilet paper when you run out of the supplied.

PAY FOR CLEANING YOUR ROOM !!!!~\n

Great location, parking is bad, too full always.....clerk wanted to charge me full day for checking out at 11:30 am....so bad...there's no sign for time of check out and I presumed 12:00 but be careful!!!

Also, first time ever in any hotel that I was asked to pay for daily cleaning the room and clean towels!!!

Outrageous!!!

Then worst of all........they overcharged me by almost double!!!! Also 3 very short local calls, $10 USD.......

There are other choices better in Noumea...sorry but these kind of things are too much...

Spacious self contained apartments

Really spacious and practical apartments for staying with children. We used the kitchen most nights which avoided the over priced food down the beach.
Handy to all tourist areas, aquarium and water taxis.
Downsides- on fri/sat nights heaps of noise from partying people who seem to sit in the carpark nearby and drink. Both those nights the police were clearing them out and putting people in there vans!!
No cleaning products, tea, milk etc at all provided so bring from home.
Overall a comfortable but basic stay. Perfect for family's and groups - wouldn't be my ideal hotel for a couple.

Love the balcony and view refurb due tho

We stayed on two separate occasions over a period of 10 days. We were assured that we had a Bay of Lemons view for both stays so were disappointed when this wasn't the case for our second stay of 4 nights. The receptionist changed us to another room. For both stays the rooms were in desperate need of a refurbishment and the equipment in the kitchen barely made the grade. We had to buy water glasses as there were none in the first apartment. We encountered things like toilet door lock that would not open, broken ironing board, missing remotes for air conditioning, fridge door that had to be slammed to shut, limited cutlery, towels that felt like sand paper and ripped bed sheet. The free Wifi would not reset after 24hrs and as it was the weekend this could not be remedied so we paid for more wifi. With all this in mind though, we did enjoy our stay because we spent most of our time on the exceptionaly large balcony watching the activity at sea not to mention the glorious sunsets. The reception staff were wonderful and very professional. The view and staff are the reasons we would book again and hopefully the rooms would have had a makeover by then!

Modern apartment on waterfront

Bright cheerful staff. Close to aquarium- recommend a visit highly. Close to beautiful swimming beaches and promenade .Fabulous views. However with hard pillows and with noise from people playing music and shouting on waterfront hard to sleep and disturbed sleep. Something to do with acoustics of building design as we were on 13th floor and could hear dogs barking from the neighbouring ground level properties like they were alongside.. Also could hear our neighbours- not their fault seems to be due to ill fitting front doors to apartments. Would recommend to night owls. However loved Noumea and would recommend a visit.

Excellent Self Catering Choice.

This is the second time my wife and I have stayed at The Casa Del Sole recently due to our touring schedule in New Caledonia. All Staff were very welcoming and helpful with our needs. Some basic facts that previous guests have not done their homework relating to the room facilities and have subsequently rated this venue low because of this.
Your room is equipped with starter supplies only and you need to be aware of the fact that things like tea towels, extra toilet paper, dishwashing detergent, dish cloths etc are not provided as part of the starter pack. This is not a big deal as there are supermarkets within easy reach, or just bring your own when packing as we did. I can understand for one night stayers this would be a pain in the neck, but if you are aware be prepared. The up side is a fantastic view from your spacious balcony on the ocean side, and quite sizeable rooms (even the standard Queen Suites are spacious)
A great location for dining out (as 85% of food products are imported, expect to pay about the same a dining at a mid ranged Restaurant in Australia.
One thing of importance, booking this venue via a search engine like Expedia will gain you better room rates than approaching the Hotel direct. Strange situation when there are real losses in commissions paid by the venue for bookings made via this means.

We were on the 16th (top) floor. On entering the unit we all went \"WOW!\" It had a superb view over Anse Vata Bay. The staff were helpful and pleasant. The apartments are well located near and between two beaches and a number of eateries (expensive).

Noisy unserviced apartments

This serviced apartment is a very noisy place to stay. You can hear all the noise from the adjoining apartments, especially doors slamming, which they all seem to do, and children running !. On the weekend there is outside noise from a nightclub/ pub. Thursday night it was particularly bad for us. The rooms are adequate but they are hardly serviced if you need to provide your own toilet paper and dishwashing liquid. We had a very, very smelly washing machine which made the whole place smell musty.

Found used condom in our sons bedroom!!!

Room stank of smoke on arrival so we went out for a walk to air room. Once settled in our son found used condom in his bedroom wardrobe! We then spoke to reception who told use they couldn't do anything about it as housekeeping had finished for the day but would get housekeeping to remove it tomorrow! We went out all day and came back late afternoon to discover condom still there! After again explaining again to reception and showing pictures they got housekeeping to remove it. No hair dryer! No glasses (other than wine)! They even tried to charge for extra cleaning (removing condom) when we checked out and I had to explain again about condom!!!!

Tired Apartments with fantastic views

The mattresses were very old and we had to get them changed immediately for our 9 night stay, the 2nd washing machine replacement wouldn't spin dry either ! the apartment is big and roomy with fantastic views. The staff very helpful and friendly and did there best ! Tres Bien ( owner needs to spend some $$ on the place) location fantastic and little shop downstairs sells the best crossiants and french bread fresh every morning.

My wife, children and I stayed for seven nights at the Casa Del Sol. We opted for a Panorama two bedroom unit. We were on the 16th floor with views over looking Anse Vata beach for the first four nights. The only draw back was this faced the predominant winds. We asked to swap sides and the staff were most accommodating in organising this for us. The Baise Des Citrons side was noisier with the restaurants and bars but it was great to be out of the wind.

Good size appartment with all the modcons in prime location.
Nice large balcon with table, chairs and lounger with great views.
Do your own cooking, stove,microwave, dishwasher, fridge, washing machine, dryer etc.
Little home away from home, Ansa Vata beach one side, Baie de citron the other.
Ample parking.

Best of both worlds

We booked a one bed apartment for 10 days, on arrival they gave us a two bed on the 15th floor. We were very grateful that night as it gets very noisy in Bay au Citroen. But with the doors closed u can't here a thing : )
I chose an apartment rather that a hotel as I'd been told eating out is Noumea can be expensive. It is !
The apartments are quiet basic but have everything u need, although a fish slice wouldn't go amiss, hard to flip eggs with a knife.
Apart from that the views are fantastic the staff friendly and we would definitely go back. And I'm glad I chose it over the meridian.
With the Casa Del Sole you have the best of both worlds with the bustling bay at one side and the quieter Ansa Vata bay at the other.

Great apartment in a perfect location!

We were there during the Christmas period this year. Having been to Noumea twice before, we knew the lay of the land and had seen Casa Del Sole before, but never stayed there. The stay was very good, especially compared to the other hotels. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment on a high floor overlooking Baie des Citrons. We were worried about noise from the bars, but that wasn't an issue for us at all. Of course, you'll hear some noise during the night, but that's in any hotel. The location is fantastic, in-between the beaches of Anse Vata and Baie des Citrons and very close to a number of bars and restaurants. The apartment itself was very spacious with a large balcony where we spent quite a bit of time on the sun lounges. I'd definitely recommend an apartment on the Baie des Citrons side for two reasons: The Anse Vata side is very windy and often in the sun. Our balcony hardly caught any wind and was always in the shade. We will stay in Casa del Sole again when we go back...

Stayed after a marine survey, had the best pick of anyone in the team. Not luxurious but all the facilities needed, good, friendly staff, clean, and close to all the beaches and nightlife in the area.

Excellent location. Very comfortable & clean

We stayed at Casa Del Sole as a family, it was extremely comfortable & in a great location. It did lack a few things - dish detergent, washing powder, a sharp knife to cut the lovely baguettes. The nightclub below was abit noisy & went till the small hours. I would still recommend this to all & stay there again. Thanks

Disappointing for the price

Both lifts were down for 24 hours and we were on the 12th floor. No daily room cleaning or supplies. Room price doubles up for Friday and Saturday so it is cheaper to use more expensive hotels with fixed daily rate for whole week. Not enough crockery and cutlery. Quite noisy due to proximity of night clubs. Limited car spaces.

Great location

The hotel is in a great location, close to both beaches, restaurants and all activities within walking distance. Easy to catch the bus to Noumea central city. View from the hotel balcony was fantastic. Good large balcony with table and chairs and sun lounges. The nightclubs up the street can be a little noisy on the weekend but the choice of retaurants and cafe's made this location great. Hotel staff were very helpful, friendly and patient with us not speaking french.

An imposing apartment style motel

We were allocated an apartment with excellent orientation, providing morning sun and pleasant sea breezes. The staff had excellent English and were very helpful. There was a sense that Casa del Sole had seen better days although there was evidence of recent and ongoing renovations. Given the Noumean lifestyle it was very handy to have a kitchenette and laundry facilities. There was an excellent choice of restaurants within metres of the motel and a convenient bus service to access Noumea. Lemon Bay is a wonderful beach for taking a dip with plenty of shade, beach side showers, grassed areas and seating. I had assumed there would be regular room service but was wrong so be prepared to clean up after yourself (no big deal) and take out your own rubbish (OK if you know where the hopper is located).

What a nice stay!

We stayed @ Casa del Sole appartments and really loved it! Excellent location, big space inside, clean, and the view!!! from the 16th floor, its to die for! the only bad point is the noisy youngsters from THU to SUN night screaming and yelling all night... but I suppose you cant have everything at the same time ;-)

Well located hotel but noisy

This hotel is well located between the baie des citrons and anse vata. It is very noisy from Thursday to Sunday; however if the sliding doors are closed and the air-conditioning is on, it is fine. The bed was old and uncomfortable. The shower was terrible due to low water pressure. Overall, it is cheaper than other places. Next time, I will pay extra and get better accommodation.

Large comfortable apartment, reasonably priced.

We stayed here twice on this vacation and were very happy with the apartment, it was spacious, clean and comfortable. When we found ourselves short of cups, they were quickly supplied. We connected to the wifi with no problem, but there was some confusion as to whether it was included or not, the first time we were not charged, the 2nd time we were. The views are amazing, altho the noise from the nightclubs and on one occasion from a room near us was quite loud. Overall we would recommend the Casa del Sole.

OK for do it yourself holiday

This property is well located between the two main beaches, easy walking distance to supermarket, tourist spots with bus stops and restaurants super close. This is all about \"do it yourself\" holidays though - there is NO information about tours in the lobby, it was difficult to get information from staff about things to do and place to go and when we requested help (our safe wasn't working) they put us on a maintenance list and we never heard anything further. A tour operator also tried to leave messages for us about a tour we had booked and could not successfully do so so we missed out. Rooms were extremely spacious, although furniture could do with an upgrade (old couches just covered to refresh their look that really need replacing), only had 3 chairs, set of china and cutlery although apartment room booked for 4 and a vacuum cleaner would have been a real plus.

Comfortable and roomy and suitable for our needs. The staff were friendly and very helpful and always someone on the desk who could speak English as well as French.
This came in very handy when we had problems booking excursions and they were of great assistance.
Room service was extra and the washing machine didnt work. There were no lights in the bedrooms when we arrived but the staff ran around and found us two lamps.
The apartment was clean not all cooking utensils available but one could make do if they improvised.
Interesting clientelle on Thursday/ Friday nights

Fab view,we were on higher floor but lower floors could get a lot of noise from bars.Odd thing-no main lights!One of the bedrooms had no lighting at all and the dishwasher and microwave did not work.A bit tired but v clean and good view.The pool was in a separate building and was past its best-the razor wire around the wall was not most relaxing.Good to self cater though as New Cal is the most expensive place we have ever been,even supermarkets costly.
