One waiter accused my wife of non payment after pursuing her to the lift only to be told I was at the bar signing-very uncomfortable being accused of a crime we did not commit.

I was disappointed with this stay. I usually choose Autograph Collection hotels for their boutique character the Autograph Collection in Penang is an excellent example of this but this property felt more like a standard Marriott.
My room had a brick design covering the window, leaving no view. I was told most rooms are like this, which was surprising. The pool area is nice, but there are VERY few lounge chairs, the pool bar doesn’t open until 3 PM, and food ordered through the front desk took nearly two hours.
Dining options were also limited, especially for solo travelers. With so many excellent 5-star hotels in KL, this was my least favorite and I would not choose it again

The hotel is in a very cool area, lots of cafes and restaurants that seem up and coming. A 25/30 min walk to the Petronas Towers but grab taxis are so cheap. Staff are lovely and the rooms are perfect.

They have an obsession about air conditioning, everywhere is so cold, like 16 °C maybe. Outside was nice and warm and inside very cold, we had to wear duvets .
The overall feeling is average, bedding quite clean but the rest not outstanding.
For the breakfast they have cold fruits although there are plenty of fruits in this country they serve them cold and NO BANANAS. What tropical country doesn't have bananas at breakfast???

Malay food is a lot of meat so the breakfast not too great if you dont eat meat. Staff are friendly, room is clean but the minibar / fridge is hidden behind a mirror, took me 2 days to find it.

Nice hotel, conveniently central and next to a whole restaurant row of great little restaurants. If you’re a walker, it’s only 15 mins south to Chinatown and 15 mins northeast to the Towers. Handy. Rooms are nice, pool was lovely, though there weren’t many seats. Really good breakfast bar. Iffy WiFi was my only complaint. Sometimes great, sometimes barely there.

Friendly staff. Housekeeping was great. Deluxe king room was very spacious. Shower (rain overhead faucet) was great. Provided free bottle filter water was an additional touch to the hot and humid weather. value was acceptable and worth it. My suite did have a clear view of the exterior due to fascia and not balcony. I was fine with the design as I would have faced the other towers acrossed the street. If you want a view then you may have to booked an upgrade if available. The view of the KL at night was wonderful…got some great photos. Booked online via Expedia.ca. I was emailed that I did not have to pay the nightly non resident tax (10RM/night). But this was not the case. I had to pay as the check-in staff had no idea regarding this even though I showed them the email from Expedia.ca. So far no response from Expedia. ☹️

The rooms are a little old and as usual with KL older properties , maintainence is always an issue. But this prop is not old but the bathrooms shows her age .
Anyways the major plus is the location n area this prop is located , nestled in refurbished old and original old prewar shop lots. It’s a good even blend where one could savour the vibrancy of the refurbished old n original state of old architecture n retail mix . I think it’s a brilliant mix of culture n movement with time . I sincerely hope they won’t tear down the old n rebuilt it into new architectural designs , tat would be a devastating blow to Msia culture.
Hotel wise , pls do make the effort to maintain n retain so level of maintenance in ur rooms . Don’t wait till its falling apart to fix it , fix it wen there r discoloration, its a tell tale sign of co efforts to maintenance n engineering

The hotel was OK, but it shouldnt be advertised as 5 star, the sink is in the bedroom, the breakfast is worst than a 4 star hotel and also very complicated way of serving it. The coffee cups are bigger than the coffee machine usage.
Breakfast staff comes to your table to ask you which room you arefrom, it makes u uncomfortable in front of people. There was no one at the desk at ghe breakfast place. Needs a lot of improvement to charge this high and be a 5 star.

Fantastic hotel in a nice part of KL. Lots of good restaurants nearby, we went to Black and White which was practically next door and Heritage Pizza, try Gavel for a craft beer beforehand.

You had to remind staff of services requested but I think due to English language barrier is all.
They told us we had a nice car to the airport and it was a very dirty taxi, also said we could put it on our room then day of we needed currency which we needed to have him stop for.

Great location in KL. There are many nice restaurants within walking distance that are clean, modern and varied. The rooms modern, spacious and comfortable. Loved the rooftop pool and bar. We actually walked to the Petronas towers from the hotel which was fun. Overall, great place to stay in KL. Highly recommended.

Our first time at Stripes having stayed at a range of other hotels in KL and would highly recommend. Great service, spacious rooms (with the upgrade to have a tub) and good breakfast. Service was excellent and speedy. Also location was great, lots of good eateries nearby and walking distance to Pavilion etc. enjoyed the rooftop pool and gym,
The only things to improve would be to sweep the water by the poolside steps as it got quite slippery throughout the day or have more grip mats for the area

We had a bad experience at the airport and felt very sad on our way to the hotel but forgot about it upon arrival. The staff was so friendly and pleasant. The hotel was very clean, modern, and close to the city center. We will stay again.
