From check in onwards staff very friendly and helpful directions re restaurants and places of interest . Had 2 beautiful rooms overlooking the pool. The pool had also a great separate childrens area not attached to the main pool. Also good poolside restaurant plenty of choices re food.would stay here again if in Kuala Lumpur.

My kids loved the pool area and kids play area. It’s a great family friendly hotel in a great location close to KLCC and twin towers. I would definitely stay here again. The breakfast was extensive with lots of options.

Staff was not friendly. Stay was alright not met the expectations.But overall it’s very pricey for the services they provide like the lifts were not working when we stayed so had to wait for long to get in the lift as there was already too many people waiting to get in. Only one lift working staff, guests all had to use the same. The room provided had lot of issue like aircon wasn’t working didn’t give cool air so had to call customer service every day for that. Bathroom sink and toilet water wasn’t passing through so the staff had to get the pump but still wasn’t that smooth water blocked again next day. Didn’t feel worth the price specially paid in AUD was quite pricey when we stayed in there we looked at other hotels which were bit cheaper and around the same area and giving better facilities. Felt a rip off from this hotel when compared to others also the services provided was not up to the mark. The reception staff lady kept us waiting when we entered instead of greeting us straight and asked us money for early check in which was only few hours also not fair as we checked out a day early. Not recommended. Overall not a wonderful experience.

We had a fantastic time here with our family 8 years ago, so we decided to return. The latest refurbishment has exceeded our expectations! The kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool, and the staff's friendliness and helpfulness really stood out. The breakfast has a wide range of delicious food options too! In fact, we liked it so much that we've cancelled our other hotel booking for when we come back to KL after our stopover to Langkawi and booking the Renaissance instead! 🙂

The hotel did many things right, they made a special effort for our 3 year old, gave us a free upgrade on check-in, and generally made an effort to provide good service. The room and pool were also very clean. The buffer breakfast had a good selection of quality food. Unfortunately, the quality of service wasn’t consistent across all staff. They was a bit of a language barrier with the staff at reception which was probably what led to our late checkout not being processed, and resulted in me standing at the busy reception in my wet swimmers trying to get access to our room again. The room facing the main road is also extremely noisy at night and I am not usually sensitive to a bit of noise, so we had to be moved to another room facing the pool. Lastly, there doesn’t seem to be any consistency when the member discount is applied so I had to constant ask for it.

Celebrated my birthday here and we were greeted with a lovely complimentary deco by the hotel. Kids friendly property. My son loves it so much. Love that we have this in the middle of the city. Walkable to monorail station. Satisfied breakfast selection. Spacious room and bathroom including bath tub and bidet.

Downside is room facing kl tower will have problem sleeping due to the very loud noise at night because of the rempits.

First time being here, it was to try out their water park for kids. Needless to say, we enjoyed playing with my kids at the pool.

Second time coming here to celebrate birthday of our kids since they love to play at park again, and the location nearby KLCC. Request for a surprise during booking and they did not let us down. A beautiful decoration and cake were made to our room during check in from the Loyalty team (Diah, Lina, Saras, Aisyah, Ifah, and Amalin. Thank you also to the front desk officer, Amelia for smooth check out and final surprise.

Poor compared to other Mariott properties

Not for me. Didn’t enjoy the stay nor room. The counter staff who processed our hotel check in could have offered much better customer service. She didn’t address our questions when there were some check in hiccups, leaving us puzzled and unsure next step. We tried to seek clarification but she didnt even look like she wanted to speak to us and just processed the check-in. Service at the lounge was also so so. Disappointing experience.

Hotel with poor sound proofing

When i check in, i was told that an upgrade was given. i enquire about the sofa bed that i wanted for my child and was told that it is in the upgraded room too. So i was not happy when i went into the bigger room and found there was only has a circular sofa. When i went down to find out from reception, i was told the type of room i wanted may not be ready. i was not given an option and i think it is not fair as i checked in at 6pm, how can the room be not ready? the room given was near to lift and facing main road. i could not sleep all night as the room has poor sound proofing. i can hear people walking and talking at the aisle. the noise of the traffic made it worst. The pool was congested and playroom is just a room with few sets of toys that most kids just walk away after a glance.

Kids happy with the waterpark, parent happy with the refurbished room. Shower area a bit cramp. Unable to enjoy much the breakfast as were bumped to exec lounge due to overcrowd. But it is ok for us.

Staffs were super attentive and friendly. Didnt get their names but all of them are great in their job and services.

Feel safe at waterpark area as there are alot of staff watching over the area to ensure kids playing nicely. It was raining drizzly and unable to enjoy their playground.

A bag of shopping items went missing from our hotel room. Housekeeping took the bag away as seen and shown on cctv footages. Reported to the team, it was inconvenient to get thru the duty manager. I had to go down to the Reception to wait and meet with the relevant team to solve the issue. The managers and directors advised me to report to the police at the station on my own, instead of them reporting after evidences was clearly shown. I asked for compensation for my stay and the items lost. Service recovery is still on going. Stay in this hotel at your own risk

The hotel staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the rooms are spacious and clean. However, slippers are not provided. On the bright side, the pool is excellent, complete with fun slides. The hotel's location is convenient, just a 10-minute walk from the Twin Towers in KLCC. Plus, there's a Starbucks within a one-minute walk from the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel.

Amazing hotel!

Amazing hotel in the CBD with great facilities for kids. The executive suite was very spacious and comfortable for a family of four. The club access provided parents with an area for children to have a full meal (complimentary) and activities in the evening while parents enjoy the club floor drinks/canapés.

The staff at the Renaissance are fabulous!
I was very impressed with Aishya in the kids club who was so kind and patient with my very shy 4 year old.

Equally, I was incredibly impressed with the check in and check out process with Nazrul who was very personable, accommodating and kind.

My only complaint was that the road noise from the suite facing the KL tower was loud and I found it very difficult to sleep. My children were fine as they area deep sleepers. If you’re a light sleeper then I’d request a room with a pool view instead.

Good and bad.

The hotel room was excellent and very comfortable and the staff were very accommodating apart from one hitch - the ground floor cafe area. We were only one of two couples in there for a lunch on one of our days. The other couple were clearly very unhappy. We also became discontented. It took half an hour for a simple meal to arrive and, when it did, it did not contain a main ingredient listed on the menu - gorgonzola. When I pointed this out, the meal was taken away for 4 to 5 minutes for the waiter to then bring it back with the same processed cheese on the meal saying there was no gorgonzola. There was also no compensation at all. I got the meal because I love gorgonzola! Very disappointing all around. Other than that, the room service staff were excellent and the hotel clean and attractive. Only other negative - pool too cold and not enough staff on in the pool area to supply towels and locker keys. The pool toilet / shower area is also in need of a serious revamp.

The location is great. While it's about a 10mins walk from the Iconic Twin Towers, the hotel is 2min walk from the MonoRail station and about a 5mins to subway stations, hence the price is lower than other 5stars hotel in the center hub area. Swimming pool is huge in KL standard and no complaint on the buffet breakfast, great variety and delicious as well. However, we have to switch our room on the first day as we found there are quite a number of mini flies in the washroom (on the towel, mirror, flying around etc). Informed the front desk and they switch us to another room. The problem still existed but to a lesser extend (maybe 2-3) and we didnt see them on the following 3 nights. We later found there's a small water puddle under the sink and suspected the leak might be the cause of those flies. The hotel staffs are helpful overall but the room does need a refreshment sooner or later to catch up the standard. I would rate it higher if not for the incident on our first night of stay.

Club Room in West Wing was brilliant.

I had the Club Room with Club Access in the West Wing and it was such beautiful room. It's very clean and well maintained, modern and the club access is really good. Free breakfast seperate from the rest of the hotel plus snacks throughout the day. The service is amazing (seperate reception for Club Rooms). If you're going KL and can afford it, I highly recommend this hotel, but especially the club rooms. The location is really good too, if you're using public transport, there's a local tourbus spot directly outside, plus Bukit Nanas train station. Otherwise around 15 mins walk from Petronas Towers. For active people, within KL you don't need transport because a lot of main sites you can walk to within 30 mins from here. Good food spots nearby plus ask for 360 hotel if you want cheaper laundey (different hotel five mins walk).

The Renaissance is a hotel that has stood the test of times and ever changing hotel experience. Although it is surrounded by modern day hotels this 5 star hotel has stayed true to its name and have retained much of the nostalgic, grandeur decor and furnishings you would find, walking into a hotel in the 1990s. Massive grand pillars and chandeliers greet patrons as you walk through the doors. Must check out mezzo bar which is a bar that takes you back in time to the time where cigar bars with its high-backed velvet chairs and wood decor and oak lining on leather furniture told you a story (much like in a set in some mafia movie).
The staff are extremely welcoming and friendly- like the good old days where quality service was foremost to the success of a business.
We know there are a ton of good hotels out there but if you want to experience true first class service like the good old days, have a go at the Renaissance.
We arrived many hours earlier than our check in and expected like everywhere else to be told that we could only check in at the time stated. Instead we were privileged to get an immediate check in plus an upgrade...I know that this does not always happen and my review should not mean that this should be expected but this was the kind of service I experienced.
This was only one of the many pleasant experience we have at the Renaissance. Definitely my go to again when I am in kl

We really enjoyed our stay. Minor irritations include the fact that our room was in West wing but we had to enter/ exit vua East wing. Our key fi not work in East wing lifts - neither did the Bellman's whi showed us ti check-in.
The staff in the R Club lounge were excellent and very attentive.
