Rooms are small and frankly for a 5* hotel there were too many paint patches and marks on the walls. The water faucets are not convenient and difficult to operate specially in the shower with soapy and wet hands. We chose this place mainly for its rooftop however we were disappointed that it only serves snacks and closes around 11pm. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Also not the best location in relation to Milan main attractions.

Excellent hotel. Extraordinary staff going out of their way to make guests feel special. Our room was spacious, with the terrace, very clean.There was a coffee maker and kettle for water to make a tea in the room. Breakfast was pricey ( 40 Euro per person) but all you can eat from 7:30 to 11:45 AM with main dishes cooked upon request and fresh; unlimited cappuccino and tea, many bread choices, yogurts , fruits etc. You can also buy items a la carte.Breakfast area is on the roof top, inside, but you can also eat outside ,by the pool ( at the tables or comfortablle chairs with great views of Milan). Pool size is small ( two people can only swim comfortably) but I was usually only one swimming there around 9-10am . Hotel is not far from the center so it is easy to go by tram, or taxi that hotels calls for. I would definitely would love to visit this hotel again.

Fabulous hotel- right beside the tram stop
14 & 16. The 16 takes you right to the San siro.
The no 10 tram stop takes you to the train station.
Hotel is spotless and super modern, classy too. A little pricey for wine and cocktails but lovely rooftop bar and pool and lovely views.
Would definitely stay here again

Be aware that pool closes at 6pm

A tidy, modern bedroom and bathroom. The room also had a good espresso machine. The service in the hotel itself is good. The food at breakfast itself is very average, whereas the night-time rooftop bar is a very pleasant area, with good food options and was open until 11pm.

The roof-top pool has a limited amount of seating in the shade. During the weekend there were no spare seats left around the pool. I didn't mind that the pool closes at 6pm but you are also 'discouraged' to lie around the pool after 6pm. This area also seemed to be reserved for the bar patrons (after 7pm). The information in the bedroom didn't state anywhere that the pool closed at 6pm, and stated that you could 'dip in the pool and bask in the suns rays until dusk' (which should have therefore been 9pm whilst we were there).

As a business traveller this hotel is not for me. I would rate it lower but the manager did come see me personally to explain the issues the hotel has which included:

1. The top floor which includes the restaurant, views and pool gets booked out for events so as a guest you wont have access to that.

2. There arent enough steamers in the hotel so if you want to get wrincles out of your business clothes before work you have to be lucky enough to order one as soon as you arrive. Otherwise you wont get one.

3. I spent €800 per night but I booked a entry level room which doesnt come with hair conditioner foe some reason.

I feel I get a much better experience at a 4 star Hilton or Urban Hive in Milan.

This is a hotel that is worth the price. My husband and I travelled around Italy for our honeymoon and this was our last stop, and we decided to book a 5 star to finish strong. We are so glad we did. The staff, the rooms, the amenities, the food are all out of this world. Of course it does cost a pretty penny, but for this experience I’d highly recommend!

I really liked it, but I didn’t get that 5* hotel feeling from this place.

Directly opposite the entrance were full of homeless people (I know this may be out of their control) and other sort of activities going on in the surrounding areas.

As well as this, the TV isn’t even a smart TV which is a real shame.

On the plus side, it has good location, walkable distance to cathedral and other sights.

This property was amazing! It was clean and tidy and beautiful to look at. All the staff members were very professional and nice. Wanted to shout out Karyn and Monica for checking us in, Davide and Lorenzo for checking us out, the cleaning staff, the doormen for helping with all the luggages, and especially- I will forever hold a special place in my heart for Savo. He is so passionate and knowledge and just exudes a pure warm and loving personality. He is a true gem and made my stay sooo memorable and extraordinary. We stayed for 3 nights but in two trips as we left in between to visit Lake Garda, also a big hit. The staff was super helpful in ensuring everything was taken care of and that our stay was as good as possible. There was some construction across the street so nothing you can do about it, we didn't find it very loud during our nights. The rooftop pool is really special and the amenities and spa are top notch. You wont' find a much better hotel, in as solid a location (don't let Chinatown scare you off) for these price points in this city.

Wonderful place to stay. The staff is beyond courteous, helpful, friendly and accommodating. Anything you need to ask, they will help. Restaurant was delightful. There were multiple dining options that were walkable from the property and if not, staff would call a cab for you that would immediately pull up. Room was clean and modern. Had a lovely view of downtown. Can’t say enough about the people that work there. They made sure you were cared for at all times.

Initial photo of the pool is misleading as it can only be used in summer months. Rooftop bar was very nice, but closed for an event for the evening meaning we could not make use of this for our limited stay. Limited facilities in spa area, all thought this was well kept and clean.

Super stylish and super comfortable, loved almost everything about this hotel except for the slightly too expensive breakfast options - 40 euros pp at booking and 45 on-site is way too much especially given the standard quality and limited selection. The rooftop pool was amazing on a hot day although I wish there were separate times set aside for families as it’s dominated at certain times by children which really ruins the experience and made it uncomfortable. Also appreciated the unattended spa area - sauna, steam room and ice shower which could be used till late. The staff were always polite and helpful at reception although service at the pool could have been slightly more attentive. Loved the Viu, it will be my go-to hotel every time I’m in Milan.

The hotel is beautiful, with very modern and refined furnishings. It’s situated in Chinatown and not very far from a beautiful park and local historical landmarks. We enjoyed great walks while we were there and easily got Uber rides to pick us up and drop us off. Staff and service were great overall - there was only one incident, when our laundry wasn’t delivered express when we’d noted it in our request and then it was delivered about an hour later than the staff said it would be normally that evening. Outside of this, there were a lot of mosquitoes in our room the first night, but that may have been due to recent rain. Regardless, we kept the terrace closed so we didn’t have any more.

We throughly enjoyed staying at the hotel. We arrived early and were able to check in as our room was ready. We had lunch on the rooftop patio which had a fabulous view of the city. We ended up having dinner there the first night and the food was exceptional. The breakfast the next morning was was also delicious. The staff was very accomodating. The woman at the front desk went above expected service in assisting us with reservations we had for a train trip into the Alps. I would stay there again and would recommend it to anyone visiting Milan.

Excellent rooftop bar and pool area, we travelled out of season but I imagine in the summer it would be great to spend the day up there sunbathing and enjoying the great cocktails. Food was a real highlight, the breakfast was excellent and Morelli Ristorante was outstanding from start finish. Highly recommended.

We had an airport mixup and missed our flight back to London the day we booked VIU last minute. It was a true blessing in disguise, After lounging pool side we decided to extend our trip even longer at VIU. Still think it was one of the best moves we did. Milan is just a dream. The lovely staff at VIU made us feel welcomed and taken care of, They are so knowledgeable in recommending restaurants and other activities in the area. They’ll even have a taxi picking you up within minutes of assisting you with a reservation as well. They suggested we visit Now Cavali, An outdoor night club owned by Roberto Cavali and it was one of the most fun nights of our lives. The crowd here is totally unlike something you would get at most night clubs, It felt like friends throwing a party with how friendly everyone was with each other. All in all would love to visit Milan again and stay at VIU. Perfect hotel central to everything, Beautiful rooms and an amazing staff.

Hotel VIU was absolutely marvelous! For my first trip to Milan, I certainly felt welcomed and like I was staying at a 5 star hotel. The room was clean, sleek and had a beautiful vista of the city, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the amenities were amazing. If I get the chance to return to Milano I will certainly be staying here again and would definitely recommend this beautiful stay to any and all. Thank you Hotel VIU! ♥️

A cozy hotel outside the busy area of Milan, but close to tram and airport train.

Room was large, comfortable and well designed, and had everything I needed.

Receptionist (Luigi) was cheerful and gracious, and lent his aid picking places to visit and also restaurant recommendations.

Breakfast and pool area on the roof was awesome.
While small, this hotel's gym is the best equipped I've seen in a hotel (weights, pull ups, ladders and few trainers).

I'll certainly consider this hotel again when I return to Milan!

The VIU is a great hotel, with nice spacious rooms and stylish décor. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. When the weather is great, the roof top pool and bar provide a priceless view and atmosphere.
The only issue is the location is not great. The neighborhood was nothing of interest around it, and the surrounding roads are complicated, leading to low availability of Uber's and taxis, with several cancelations. If you rely heavily on transportation with Uber/taxi's I do not recommend you stay here, as you will waste a lot of time and money just to go to and from the hotel.
