Wrote this to the manager of the property:

I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with my recent stay at the NH Collection Porta Nuova in Milan from August 25th to 28th. While I had initially accepted an upgrade to a luxury suite offered by Simone, my experience was marred by a series of issues that fell short of the expected standards of a 4-star hotel.

Upon returning to my room on August 26th, I found that it had not been serviced, with used towels still present. Although Semere and Valeria provided assistance with fresh towels and necessities, this incident set the tone for the rest of my stay.

The following day, Simone offered a fruit basket and other complimentary items for my children, as well as a 20% discount, which was a kind gesture.

However, the issues persisted. On the day of my checkout, I requested instant coffee powder from the help desk, only to be informed by Marco that it was unavailable. When I asked for assistance with my luggage, Marco stated that he was alone at the desk and unable to provide help, leaving me to manage my three suitcases and family on my own.

I am extremely disappointed that my three-day stay in Milan was overshadowed by these experiences. As a paying guest, I expect a certain level of service and quality. I hope that you will take immediate action to address these issues and ensure that no other family has to endure a similar experience.

The staff were very friendly and helpful!! The property is clean and well maintained, and the rooms were lovely and well-appointed. The shower was great! The only dislike was the amount of perfume used in the lobby and hallway areas- literally clouds of it! Should either do without or should use a mild scent like citrus or eucalyptus.

Lovely hotel with very good service from all staff. Preferred to stay a little out of the centre of Milan to get better value and larger rooms. Underground car park at €35 per day. Breakfast was generally very good with lots of fresh fruit, pastries and a few hot items. Would prefer fresh fruit juice. Restaurant was closed for dinner at the weekend. Felt a safe area and main attractions of Milan were walkable. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

The hotel is new, beautiful, conveniently located next to main public transportation hub but above everything their staff are just unbelievable, kind, compassionate, caring, always with a smile on their face and willingness to help. I forgot my laptop in the room and they were extremely extremely helpful in packing the computer and securing a shipment back to the United States I have no words to describe my gratitude to them.

They are very accommodating to your needs. I had a rented a car and they have a secure parking area just below their building. To get to it, stop by their lobby first (park in front of the lobby). They'll have someone escort you to the parking structure and opened the gate for you. I needed to plugin my US devices and they provided me with an adapter for US to Europe convertor. Their Wifi is a bit spotty but the car rental has 5G WiFi device that you can rent that I used instead. The place is modern, spotless and comfortable. For being first time in Milano, I'm glad that I made the right choice to not worry about my accommodation. Walkable to many restaurants and places. The surrounding area includes a newly developed \"park\" that's is pleasant to walk through. I was in and out in 24 hours and there was even a staff at 4am when I left to the airport for someone to open the secure gate to let my car out. Highly recommend this place.

Great for a city break.

Rooms were large, clean, modern, spacious & well furnished. Bed was very comfortable. Didn’t try the breakfast as there were enough bakeries nearby to meet our needs. Great position on in the Porto Novo district close to the big Unicol & Uncredit towers with loads of bars and restaurants nearby to choose from. Also just a few minutes walk from a metro station and tram stop meaning it’s just a 10 min ride into the centre of the old town. Perfect for a good city break.

Very friendly and helpful service, especially Luca on reception. The breakfast was good, the location was perfect and the rooms were large. The only complaints were that we had a room on the main road side of the building which was loud at night and the WiFi wasn’t good.

The property in itself really good, out experience with room service wasnt brilliant, they totally messed up our orders. Their bathrooms also arent designed in the best manner but wouldnt complain on the size since most rooms and bathrooms are really small.

The hotel was great with a nice location. However, we were given a smaller room than what we had booked. We had requested three beds to accommodate our group, but were initially given a room with two beds. The staff seemed put off that we asked for what we had booked and finally gave us an even smaller room with two beds and a pull out sofa.

When we finally got an acceptable room, we had to ask for towels and bed linens for the pull out sofa.

Chances are, I will not be staying at an NH nor will I use Hotels.com in the future due to numerous issues during this vacation.

I like the location, Feels safe place. Room size is a big plus. Room decor I liked it. Front desk Gentleman speaks good English.
Hotel is about 14 minutes walk form train and bus station, about 25 minutes walk or so from beautiful Cathedral
What I didn't like was the very small gym(I like to exercise when away)
Bar was very small, but most sad was that they close so early, plus hardly anyone ever there to help. I might stay here again when I go back, will depend on the choices available in my next trip.

I like the location of this hotel, close to most of it and yet private form almost everything, pretty safe to walk in late. I like the size of the standard rooms, this how all hotels should be like size wise,
Furniture looks nice, the bed are not as soft or comfortable as other but good enough. what i don't like about it, super Small gym, room size smaller than the actual room We got to sleep, only 3 exercise machines, I mean, people, some of us like to stay in shape when traveling too. The bar at lobby, only 5 chairs, way too small of bar but is worse is that there is almost nobody ever at to help at the bar plus they close way toooo early. The Bar is downgrade for this place. If you don't care a bar and a gym, then you'll be ok at this location, easy to get to and location is most important.

It was completely unacceptable to have stayed at a hotel room with no air condition the outside temperature was fresh but there is no way you can sleep with the windows open because of the sound and the smoke from the cars truck drivers garbage trucks etc. that pass by the hotel, I tried to reason with the hotel manager and they lied to me telling me that it was all around Italy when all of my friends stayed at their different hotels and enyoing air condition, so at the end they kept jerking me around lying and having my kids sleepless because of the horrible sounds of the main street right in front of that room window.. The hotel is in a great location food was good so my suggestion is ask before you pay if there is air-conditioning or heating

I loved this hotel, the only thing I would say is they need to work on cigarette smells being diffused through the walls into the bedroom. It was very off-putting. I loved Erika and Anna at the hotel, one was a receptionist and the other was a waitress in the mornings for breakfast, they were incredibly friendly and helpful!

Overall our experience was great. The staff was very courteous and tried there level best service. The room was smaller than my expectations and air conditioning was not that great. They changed my room and lower the set room temp in their system but despite all it was not to my comfort level. When I made reservation I included breakfast but later made some trip reservation so couldn’t get scheduled breakfast but the front desk arranged for us a quick breakfast at 5.00 am and that helped alit in am.

This hotel is very nice, clean, modern!! The rooms are large and the decor is very cool. Stuff is friendly and affective to anything you might need. The hotel has more of a corporate feel to it probably due to its location close to the financial district, however as a tourist is a good choice if you sand to stay away from all the crowded center. Parking is expensive and inconvenient as every time you need the car you have to get an attendant although they were pretty quick to meet you and open the gate. Hotel is close to Corso Como, the entertainment district and public transportation. It’s in a modern area of Milan
