The pictures on the Expedia website made this hotel look a great option. The experience did not live up to this. The room was really small and the shower was tricky to get in and out. We had a mould issue with the shower and air conditioning, which was unpleasant, but resolved. We found it incredibly noisy to sleep even though we were in the 3rd floor. We both were covered in bites after the second night sleep. The location is ok and the staff were friendly. We found only having one key between us and having to hand it in every time we went out strange.

Really nice hotel and highly recommended to stay

I stayed in a lovely room that reminded me of a four-star hotel—neat, clean, and comfortable—with very friendly and helpful staff. I especially enjoyed the beautiful glass elevator. Everything was just a 15-minute walk away. However, I did encounter some difficulties with the air conditioning; it seemed to be centrally controlled, and we couldn't adjust it ourselves, which made it a bit uncomfortable at times. I believe some improvements there would make the stay even better. Overall, the staff's kindness truly made a difference, and I appreciated their efforts. They even packed my breakfast because i had a early flight.

The room itself was fine, but the bathroom, particularly the shower was not pleasant. The shower door was opaque with lime scale and the tiling was was covered in mildew. It really needed a proper cleaning! Staff was friendly and the breakfast was good.

I didn’t like the neighborhood, a park next to this place full of strange people. The equipment is really poor and the hotel is old. Rooms look very unpleasant, the hallway smells like old dirt carpet. The worst was the man at the front desk for checkin and checkout, very unfriendly person

Tight family quarters

1 night stay over in Milan’s before flying home. Good location and walkable to great restaurant for dinner. Beds were comfortable.
Hotel walls were very thin and so the room was noisy - both from rooms next door and upstairs and the lobby door bell below. Breakfast was the worst breakfast of our trip to Italy - limited pastry selection and quality of pastries were dry with fillings barely noticeable; very limited selection of meats, cheeses and fruit.
Would not recommend this hotel.

This was an ok property - a bit far away from the train station and particularly sketchy to walk at night. Breakfast was great. Some of the staff was quite nice and others not so nice. We stayed here for one night and it was pretty good to leave our bags during the day. Although you don't get a receipt for your bags. So... pretty much anybody can go and pick up bags.

This hotel is close to a main street and not too far from the train’s Central Station. The included breakfast was pretty good and with a good selection of food. The only dislike was the bathroom shower, it was loose and it splashed all over the bathroom.

We had a great time at Hotel Sempione! It was a very beautiful hotel and perfect room that includes all of the amenities that we needed.
The area around the hotel was walkable to many of the great sights! At night sometimes felt a little bit uncomfortable, but that’s to be expected in a major city!
The front desk staff were mostly helpful, but the parking instructions were a bit unclear.

The worst hotel I have been to in Italy. I actually left and booked a different hotel in Milan because I simply couldn’t stay in a horrible bed, low and stiff like camping and such a tiny bathroom one could not open the shower door and fit it. This hotel should not be on Expedia

Good place to stay. Nice location

The hotel is close to one of the main train stations in Milan, which is nice. There is also a lot of restaurants nearby, and a drugstore like a Walgreens. The breakfast was nice. They have Eggs, pastries, salami, and a full coffee bar which had hot tea, which i drink. The bathroom and shower was different for us, as the shower doors swung in, and it was tiny, so this is not a place for a large person to stay. The towels were soft and much bigger than the average in America. The staff was friendly. The bed was hard, but comfortable somehow.

This was a lovely traditional old hotel with real Italian hospitality. In a quiet side street yet 15 minutes from the station and the Duomo. I loved the proper old style customer service and the breakfast was decent, especially as there was a large party in which meant it was busy.

Stayed for one night before leaving for Malpanesa airport in Milan. I would not recommend staying too far away from the airport if you have an early morning flight (6 am) because the low cost transport options don't start until 3 or 4 am which would make it too close to get to the airport for the scheduled flight.

The room was loud (facing the street) so it was hard to get sleep earlier in the night.

Overall, facility was secure and the front desk went above and beyond to make sure we had a pleasant stay. Thank you!

Nice hotel in a good area near public transport. I only have 4 stars overall because they did not allow the air conditioning until June they said even though it was soooo warm in the rooms in May. Opening the window was a good reprieve for night - but then we were eaten by mosquitos.

Check in was okay room Amenities were just straight lies heating /AC unit control by front desk by midnight everything is shutdown and in suite control unit wasn’t working room was set for temperature of 22 degrees thermostat showed 27 degrees complained to front staff no issue fix will not plan to comeback there . One additional things dot not disturbs was ON at all time but cleaning staff still decide to invade our privacy

Location was great, with only a short uncomplicated walk from centrale station. Close to other transport links too. We arrived early and whilst it wasn't an issue to leave baggage, the initial reception wasn't too friendly. Later, when we arrived back to complete checking in, it was much better. Room was small but ok. Compact bathroom. Bed was very firm, for me personally, it was too hard, but personal preference. (different person). Breakfast was very average. It happened to be included in the rate we got, otherwise we wouldn't have chosen it. Room and other areas were clean. Ok when on a budget.

While the room and decor looked nice, the air conditioning and fan did not work. Even though it wasn't that warm outside, the temperature in the room kept rising all night, but the HVAC system in the building next door was so loud that we couldn't leave the window open. The shower did not drain and immediately started to flood the bathroom. The breakfast was terrible. The croissants tasted like plastic and the juice was gritty and tasted like it had been made from a powdered mix. The coffee was not bad.

Definitely my place in Milan!

This is a good hotel in good location. Fabulous location for getting the fast train the Rho Fiera - Republicca station is round the corner and train S5 and S6 goes direct in about 15 mins.

Rooms are basic but clean - although the shower head could do with a descale (which I feel I do every time I stay here - it’s 3rd time I stayed)

Breakfast std continental (bread, pastries,
Meat, cheese, fruit, yogurt) nothing fancy but good.

There is an incredible restaurant right next door which is amazing if you’ve been on your feet all day at the Fiera and want some fantastic food without going far.

It’s definitely my place for any Milan trip!

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Sempione, staff were friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed the breakfast with a great selection of pastries, meat and cheese, fruit and yogurt and a lovely coffee. Rooms were basic but comfortable, the bathroom was a little bit small but this was expected so no complaints. We were also able to store our luggage after checking out on our last day which was a huge help. The hotel is well located near to trams and metro stations so getting around is no problem at all. We would certainly stay again and recommend to others visiting Milan for a short city break!

The staff was rude at check in not sharing any information about the hotel ie breakfast times. He told us not to walk because it was dangerous which was not noted when booked. This morning we went down for breakfast and I noticed it may have been too late. I asked and the gentleman said to come in but started talking bad about Canadians since breakfast was over. The staff was making unpleasant faces. I told him he should not have said yes if the intent was not to welcome us. We left. I guess he did not realize I understood Italian. Clearly they don’t appreciate Canadians staying at the hotel.

Terrible. The rooms are tiny and the staff is rude. Especially the reception... They can't speak English well so communication is a struggle. The hotel has not got parking available( they got car parking across the road and it €20 a day to park even tho it is advertised as parking available. Breakfast is absolutely terrible.

The only positive thing is the hotel is a little bit off the centre of Milan but it is still within walkable distance

Es un hotel viejo en aparente proceso de remodelación. Se notan las áreas comunes que han sido remodeladas y luego están las habitaciones que están muy viejas.
Nuestra habitación era muy pequeña con un baño/ducha minúscula.
El desayuno es básico, pero cubre las necesidades; aunque parece tener más concurrencia de la que puede contener.

En líneas generales, está ok para una estadía corta de una o, a lo sumo, 2 noches máximo.

The hotel was great for our purposes except that the air conditioner did not go below about 76 degrees Fahrenheit. The main thing you do at a hotel is sleep and that was too hot for us to get to sleep and stay asleep. It was terrible. Everything else was great.

The staffs are very nice. Parking is easy, there is a underground parking nearby. Eating is not difficult. I think it is convenient to take bus/train, and so on. Pretty good hotel. Only drawback is that one side of the hotel is a kind of noisy specially lower level floor, I think it is due to facing a noisy road. The other side of the hotel is quiet. Wifi sometimes is slow. Hope to enhance WIFI quality in the future.

Horrible AC system. Can't turn it on without using your room key. When you do turn it on it takes hours for the room to cool down. During the night, the AC system would turn off. Waking up multiple times at night. Too expensive for a crappy system.

Had a quadruple family room. Extremely tight space (other quads we stayed in Italy cost less and had more space). Elevator did not work one day (we were on 3rd floor). Internet did not work almost at all (very problematic). A stain on a blanket. Breakfast ok. Asked for an iron; No iron available in the hotel. Some at front desk nice, especially the night shift. Day shift not so much- arrived only 20 min before check-in time; not allowed in room until exact time.

The front desk officer was very rude, when we spoke to him in English, he said some bad words about tourists to his colleague but in Italian, but luckily my friend understood what he said. And he refused the early check in request, while I have gold status at expedia, and there were free rooms at the property, but he said rooms are not ready.
Second point: sheets are not clean.
Lastly, AC didn’t work.

Hotel Sempione was a great place to stay and I was super grateful for their luggage storage. As for cleanliness, it wasn’t the best. At first we saw a couple hairs on our pillow cases and brushed that off. Then we went into our shower and their was mold on the wall. A decent amount of mold on the wall. That was a bit unsettling. Super nicely decorated rooms and a great amount of space. This hotel was in a great location from the train station, metros and about a 20 minute walk to the Cathedral.

Hotel Sempione was a disappointing experience overall. The rooms are TINY and everything felt just a little dirty. There was absolutely nothing on the walls and the whole room had nothing comfortable, with very old furniture and grimy walls. The shower walls were filled with mildew and the bed was very uncomfortable with the mattress completely sagging on both sides. For an EXTREMELY expensive rate during Salone (500eur!!!), this no where came close to reaching expectations. I tried to change my dates 36 hours before my reservation and they also were not accommodating. Would not stay here again!

Nice 2 nights stay at Hotel Sempione. Fairly good location. Walking distance to Republica Metro station (Duomo station is 3 stops away). Restaurants and super markets are also close to metro station.

Small cafetaria area, but decent breekfast that was included in the price. No coffee maker, water boiler and iron box in the room we stayed in. M/W oven, however, was available in the kitchen area. The room we stayed seemed outdated. Bathroom was small, but good! Staff are nice and helpful.
