Pool was literally Ice cold and unusable, also freezing in the pool area. Air conditioning very dated and not working well, hair in the bathroom upon arrival, no fridge, fire sprinkler was complete rust and it was incredibly loud you hear everyone in the place it felt like

The pool was icy cold. The shower was a just little bit warm almost cold. Foam plates are not acceptable for hot breakfast food. The door key worked after 5-8 attempts. Breakfast didn’t have any meat. The room didn’t have closet or hangers for jackets.

You can’t open the door all the way to the room because they have a shelf thing with a refrigerator on it in the closet which is right behind the door. So the door opens halfway so it was hard to get in with luggage. I would recommend moving it out of the closet so that we could have had somewhere to hang our coats.

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. It is not a boutique or high-end facility. But the owners have figured out what is important to their guests and have provided all of the necessities with quality products and care. There were 3 large towels. Lately all of the places I have stayed with 2 of us, there were 2 towels. I use a 2nd one for my hair. I so appreciate this. The hair dryer was the best I have ever had. It is strong, not like the ones in other hotels that take forever to dry anything. The shampoo, body wash and conditioner are lavender and were wonderful. Because of the grab bar and rough surface, I felt safe in the shower. The alarm clock had the correct time, the heater was comfortable on a night that was minus 41 wind chill. There is a microwave, coffee maker, small fridge iron and ironing board. The bed and bedding are very comfortable and the flooring was new vinyl plank. There was cold water available and they are waiting for new furniture but ours was great. They obviously care about their establishment. Great people.

The room was clean but seemed crowded with furniture. The room itself looked unfinished. The corner area where the fridge, microwave, ironing board, iron and hair dryer were stacked looked like an afterthought and unfinished. The entry to the room was very narrow and long. The access area around the bed was tight. If a person was sitting at the end of the bed the other person could not easily pass. I would not want to stay in this room next time I visit Dubuque.

The room was clean and elevators were operational which was a plus. There wasn't any water for sale in the vending area. The coffee area did not have artificial sweetners available. The bed was comfy and the TV was big! Not a bad place to stay. Under renovations, which isn't bad, but if you are looking for a place with a pool, I would wait as it is being remodeled at this time.

Hallway cart was full of stains. Was a big banner hanging in front of the entrance that was bright red with the name of the hotel printed on it, \"Dubuque Inn & Suites\". False advertisement by the current Owners is rampant. The photos depicting the spaces and rooms and pool and front desk are actually computer renderings. The room itself was in medium condition, however every other space was torn apart under the very slowest renovation ever. Many comments from previous guests saying it is under renovation...but the length of the renovation is not supposed to be years long pricess with spaces taken apart being the normal typical operating condition.

A huge part of the reason we chose this location over another similar one was due to the pool available listed. No pool available here, false advertisement. The Hotel app and Google and Choice app all say the pool is available when booked the trip, thru now today. That is plainly false. The pool has been closed for renovations for multiple weeks it seems, and is no where close to opening now. My kids were very unhappy that they could not swim at the promised pool on the trip.

The staff bent over backwards to accommodate my mistakes in booking the wrong date, not once, but twice. All done with a smile and a friendly manner. The hotel was undergoing some renovations so there was some construction inconvenience (the pool wasn't open and there was a faint smell of paint). However, the room was clean and comfortable. This is our 'go to' when visiting Dubuque- which we do often. SUPER excited with the renovations being done. LOVE the carpetless flooring. Would appreciate a few more pillows on the bed. Breakfast was great- stocked and cleaned often. Thanks for the great stay! We will be back!

They seemed to be in the process of trying to update the property so I am not sure if the unit we had was completed yet or not.

I will start with the positives. The bed was comfortable, the hot water and the water pressure was good. The air-conditioning worked well and the room seemed clean.

I liked that they did have a full length mirror.

It was odd because there was NO closet area and no hooks to hang clothes or coats. There was no overhead light and only two lamps, one on each nightstand, so the room was dark.

The television made us laugh because it was so small you could barely see the picture. Televisions are not expensive nowadays. Wouldn't you put, at minimum, a 48 inch in the room?

The room was very sparse but if you just need a place to sleep, it works

The hotel was under renovation so some disruption was expected. However, the in room refrigerator didn't work so our take home from our first night of dining spoiled. Also, there was no closet or dresser so we lived out of suitcase on the couch. Overall, it was not a terribly unpleasant stay but definitely not worth the price we paid. As a final note, the banner outside read, \"Dubque Inn & Suites.\"

The staff was nice and friendly; however, there were multiplr issues with the room. The towel rack fell off the wall as I was returning a towel to it. There was no remote control for the TV. The hotel did not have a big sign indicating its location, although it did have a banner. As long as you arrived from a certain direction, you would see it.

I believe this is a hotel that is being renovated while guest are staying there. The paint smell is definitely quite strong and for what I paid I feel as though it should have been finished. I could have stayed at a different hotel for roughly the same cost that wasn’t under construction. You should discount guest bc there are renovations going on. Had I known that I would have booked somewhere else. Also new beds are needed… our room the beds were very squeaky.

This hotel should not be rated 8.0! The pool was too cold for swimming. Our refrigerator was not cold and smelled rancid. Quiet hours were not enforced, and it was very loud until late. Breakfast was also terrible. We would not stay here again.
